This is my third time staying at this property and it’s already showing its age. The room was extremely hot in the winter. I had to sleep with windows opened. Also you hear a lot of noises, people taking showers, flushing toilets. Overall it’s a great stay and the staff is extremely courteous

The staff was so accommodating with my very early check in. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Very convenient to the metro.

I've stayed at this hotel more than a dozen times, and it's always a delight - rooms are small but well-equipped, the service is attentive, and the location is great.

The location was very convenient. We were greeted by a very friendly female staff member who accommodated us with an earlier check-in. The room was clean and served our purpose. The breakfast was pretty bad but the service was good. The electric in the gym didn’t work most of the people so the treadmill and lights didn’t work. Otherwise, it was pretty quiet in that area and close to the airport bus. The male staff members were not as welcoming except for the day we checked out. Don’t expect luxury and buy your own breakfast and it’s a good place to stay.

The staff was helpful and very informative. The rooms look sharp and clean, very comfortable bed and plenty of space to move around.

The room is very clean and modern however, without a closet there is no room to place two suitcases except for maybe under the bed. With a short two night stay, we did not unpack but if we had, there is no dresser drawer space or actual closet. Just hanging space beside the bathroom sink. Love the location and staff.

Lovely stay and friendly staff

Nada especial más allá de lo normal, algunas deficiencias en la habitación como control remoto de la tele que no servía, fuimos a cambiarlo por otro y el siguiente no sirvió tampoco, el chico de la recepción tuvo que desconectar el TV hasta que al próximo día pudieron conseguir un remoto válido. Dos luces fundidas en el cuarto, problema también resuelto al siguiente día después de ser reportando. El precio del desayuno es caro. Por lo demás, es un hotel limpio, buen olor, una piscina chula en el último piso, gimnasio y vapor.

Excellent place to stay

Room was very clean and renovated. black out drapes were great for sleeping. Would definitely stay again. Close to all kinds of restaurants and convenience stores and metro.

My husband and I stayed at this locations for 4 nights, we enjoyed the location and service provided. We were able to enjoy the rooftop pool one day outside of our daily sightseeing. The location is very accessible walking to many locations and there is also a metro stop right near the hotel. Would stay again.

The staff were friendly and always helpful. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The location is close to a wide variety of restaurants and bars. Close to many areas of interest or a short taxi ride away. The roof top patio was great for sun tanning and taking in the views with eye candy.

I saw this hotel recommended in a magazine (DNA) so I booked it for one night Roof top swimming pool although shallow was brilliant and so was the small but excellent roof top gym Awesome modern architecture set amongst more traditional buildings but in a stunning practical location I intend to book again soon when I’m next in Barcelona

The rooms facing the park and neighborhood balconies were noisy with dogs barking, children playing and occasionally homeless people. My floor smelled of « pot » for 3 consecutive days.

Great place with accomodating team

Overall great experience. The staff was very accomodating and friendly. My only issue was related to the AC however, this was most likely my own expectations of what AC should feel like versus what you tend to get in Europe. The team did have maintenace visit the room to confirm it was functioning as intended. I would definitely stay at the hotel again.

DON'T STAY AT THE AXEL TWO

This hotel does not come anywhere close to a 4-star hotel. Not a good location. Mostly for Gay population, very uncomfortable. Room was extremely small. Air conditioner hardly worked. We were very unhappy. Moved as soon as we could. We really should get some compensation. Hotel more like a 3 star. VERY UNHAPPY with your rating on this.

Great Hotel! Would Return

I booked this hotel for me & my partner because of its close proximity to where my family was staying. This location was wonderful and very convenient to many things: the Rocafort metro station, local bakeries & restaurants, Sant Antoni Market, Arenas de Barcelona shopping mall, and the National Art Museum in Montjuic. The area is quiet and a great neighborhood to be in. I found the staff at Axel Two to be very accommodating and helpful. The elevators were small, but that's to be expected with most elevators in BCN. Our room was on the corner of the 3rd floor and had a great (huge window) view of the street. We found our room clean and comfortable for us during our 5 night stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Barcelona!

It was quite normal but expensive

We stayed here 4 nights. Attractive and clean rooms and the staff were very accommodating letting us in the room early and helping us navigate to different areas. Close to Placa Catalyuna, las ramblas and lots of places to eat.

Such a peaceful and relaxed environment, reception staff are patient and polite, cleaning crew are amazing and fun and the hotel has enough to offer so you do not get bored , they kindly decorated my room in celebration of my birthday and it honestly put the cherry on top , definitely need to come back !!!!! One of my biggest disappointments so far on Expedia. Tiny room with minuscule TV that had only a couple of active channels. Good size bathroom but no extraction in the toilet and no light separation for those sleeping in the bedroom. Definitely didn’t look 4-stars to me.

I would not recommend this hotel for US travelers. It is not at all accommodating. The hotel manager woman on 3/31 was not helpful for many problems. I arrived and the A/C unit was not properly changed from “heat” to “a/c” per the manager. I waited around for it to be fixed and many hours later a gentleman from maintenance arrived only to tear apart the room to change it to an a/c setting In the ceiling. It cannot accommodate a simple 68 degrees. The air conditioning unit is simply obsolete. The room was hot. I asked to be switched to a different room and told from the manager that since I’m from America the A/C units do not have the functionality to be switched to “those that work like in the US Florida” it simply does not blow cold air at all. I was denied a switch. I had booked the hotel through expedia. The hotel endorses that it has a hotel bar and pool bar, not true! The hotel bar is small, without many options. However, after much debate I was switched to their sister property at Axel to accommodate my request only to find out after walking it was closed until 8pm from a suggestion of their stellar manager. In the Am I tried to obtain breakfast and was met with a host that would not allow me to pay cash, instead only to bill the room. The host was rude and only speaks to the mismanagement at this property. I finally asked to be switched to their sister property and I was met with a much different experience, the manager cares about customers and was able to accommod

Best ones out of the Axel Hotels in Barcelona

Great gay spot.

I did not receive the room I booked. I booked ground floor city double and I received a basic room on first floor with dirty carpets and worn furniture. The bed was like 2 single camp beds pushed together to resemble a double. The floor outside tte room had cardboard outside the door. Overall the hotel is worn & basic uncomfortable place. The bar is the reception desk space. Breakfast room is cold and uncomfortable space. The hotel has all ironwork chairs and tables that belong in a garden. Not a 4 star hotel. I would recommend you find a nicer hotel for the price and do not recommend to stay here

My stay at the Two Hotel was amazing. The front desk employees were very nice and polite when checking and when i asked for advice on the city. The room was very clean and very modern. The bed was firm and the pillows soft. The room is a very open plan and the showers have glass walls. Will definitely stay here again when i return tot he city.

Had a really nice stay, great location and room was very comfortable! Nice as well when we arrived to be put into a room with a balcony!

Wonderful stay. Staff was welcoming and helpful, speaking English was a plus. I should've asked not to have room window adjacent to the street. Street traffic and activities upped noise level I could've avoided.

The shower is open to the entire bathroom with no obstacle perimeters to stop the water from the shower. That’s after your shower and entire bathroom is wet and you must use what towels there are to put on the floor so you don’t fall can’t use the sink or the toilet without slipping in the water.

Clean and well maintained property/rooms. Allowed us to check in early and we didn’t even have to ask! Only issue was the breakfast, being more than mediocre.

I loved the roof top pool and bar area

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and also this was our first time in Spain. The hotel is awesome, it’s roughly about a 20 minute walk to all of the gay bars and so we found ourselves stopping by the other axel hotel to have a drink on the roof before we went out. Overall the hotel had great amenities and the staff were very friendly. My only disclaimer would be that there isn’t much privacy with the washroom, so let’s just say you may be getting a whole lot closer with your partner lol!

My wife and I recently stayed for two nights at TWO Hotel Barcelona by Axel, and we want to share our experience. Overall, it was a pleasant hotel with a clean room and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean too, and the amenities were nice. Everything felt new and well-maintained. The location was fantastic, with lots of cool places around to explore. The hotel is inclusive and welcomes everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation. We were kindly upgraded to a room with a balcony view, which was a nice touch. Although the hotel has a rooftop pool, gym, and spa, we didn't have the chance to use them. However, we did have some issues with communication through the Expedia App. For example, the room had a mini bar with no prices listed. We tried to contact the hotel to ask about the prices, but we didn't get a response until the morning we were leaving. This was disappointing. The staff at TWO Hotel Barcelona by Axel were not very talkative and it was hard to communicate with them. Unfortunately, we had a negative experience when we asked for ice to help with my lower back pain inflammation. The hotel receptionist, who was also the bartender, told us to go to the supermarket instead of helping us. If it weren't for this ice issue, we would have given the hotel a five-star rating. In conclusion, our stay at TWO Hotel Barcelona by Axel was enjoyable. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel has a great location. It's inclusive and welcoming to all guests.

Very Convenient to dinning options and outside of the tourist area.

The hotel location is perfect. Close to everything including the metro and an easy ride to the renfe station. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is one of the best I’ve had. Well worth the $. The rooms themselves are smaller and while that can be expected the utilization of the space is definitely design over function. Very little closet/storage space, so expect to live around your luggage and belongings. The bathroom and shower have VERY little privacy. Open space with a “frosted” glass between the bathroom and bed. Expect to see/hear everything. The bed itself is terrible very hard, which may be preferred by some, but the coils in the mattress can clearly be felt. Everything would warrant a return visit if the bed wasn’t so bad, painful actually.

The hotel is new and modern in design. The rooftop terrace is pleasant in the sun and has a nice heated pool. The rooftop bar was not open during our visit. Rooms however have odd layouts and little natural light due to heavy drapes and window placements that provide no privacy.

The property is immaculately kept up, the staff is charming and always very helpful. The front desk clerk from Argentina, whose name escapes me at the moment, made my stay very welcoming and had some great recommendations for restaurants. The hotel is close to the night life and there was always something to do!

My room was very clean and well maintained Room fronted street and even though high up there was frequent road noise and at night cafe opposite very noisy (I think due to a World Cup match) Coffee mugs generously sized, one chipped - not hygienic- and insufficient milk. Reported an issue with the safe.. it wasn’t rectified during my stay. So couldn’t be used further. Staff all very pleasant. Location - not central but metro 2 minutes walk away. So very easy to get around.

The staff were very friendly. I didn’t like the layout of the bathroom. There where dividing walls for the shower so water got everywhere. There was also no where to hang your towels that whereby touching the ground.

Great Barcelona hotel for gay visitors

Stylish hotel primarily targeted at gay couples but “hetero friendly” too. If tired/inebriated their extensive use of mirrors in public areas and rooms may cause confusion!!! Top deck has a number of loungers, gym, steam room, pool and bar (limited hours). A great bit of open space to relax in after a day’s sightseeing. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good choice and quality buffet breakfast. Recommended.

Like this Axel hotel format. The air conditioning was perfect and appreciated after the humid weather. Really great staff - everyone from reception to housekeeping and the amazing Sky Bar bartender. The gym and sauna are a nice amenity. The pool was a normal temperature and not freezing like our last stay at Axel. Love the location. Will def be back again.

The staff was super nice and the place was clean and well located.

The staff at Axel Two were courteous and professional. The cleaning staff cleaned my room perfectly. My only criticism is that the rooftop pool needed to be cleaned daily. More towels on the rooftop needed to be provided. Also the deck was too hot to walk on. And the gym needs more equipment. Having said all that, I would stay here again because of the staffs’ treatment of their guests. And the rooms are nice.
