Wonderful 3 day stay.
Good service from staff. Amazing breakfast, and food from room service.
The parking in the hotel's garage is very small, only 8 spots and it is only available with prior reservation
noisy, poor cleaning, poor layout and design of rooms
The rooms are incredibly dark… black walls, black bathrooms with tiny showers. The staff was great, especially in the restaurant, but we had a very rude bartender that pitched a fit when my husband pointed out that her Dirty Vodka Martini had no vodka, no olives, and was sweet. The location was good, very convenient to any Vatican tours, and walking distance to our meeting point for our Pompeii and amalfi coast tours, but other than that, not much to say. Not our cup of tea.
Depressing hotel experience
Very basic hotel, the room I was allocated was actually downright depressing. I would never stay here again. Staff certainly not warm or friendly. Considering what I paid it rates as one of the worst hotel experiences in years. No extra blankets in the room, no tea or coffee, 2 star at best
The room was clean and the location very convenient. Staff were helpful. Room was very small (queen bed with very little space to walk or sit anywhere but on the bed), the bathroom was small (with a dark glass door to the bedroom area that didn't close properly and gave VERY little privacy). The hotel doesn't have a real lobby so difficult to hang out in the hotel with family or friends, but if that is not an issue for you and you are literally looking for a place to sleep only, this is a good option.
Room was very small and “cold”. Much of the room was black and bathroom was all black tile. Very “cold” and uninviting.
Family trip to Rome
Very hard time opening our hotel room door. Seems this is a universal problem since the only person who helped me was another traveler. Day shift fellow was very arrogant, even with my husband. The hotel and room are very dark black and grey design. Bedding is very firm, flat pillows and scratchy bed linens. However, the shower was nice. TV required intervention, twice. The second fellow brought in the proper remote control. Breakfast, although plentiful and varied, served hot items cold each day we were there. Boxed breakfast provided on departure by a very professional lady. She arranged our hotel shuttle. She stated the regular taxi service is 70€ with morning surcharge and the hotel charges 75€. He was late by 15 minutes. Hotel wait staff were amazing and the restaurant “Vista” was adequate with delicious pasta. All in all, this “4 star” hotel did not live up to my expectations and I will select differently in the future. This is our 16th trip to Rome, so we have experienced hotels, boutique hotels, B&Bs and apartments.
Wedding travel
All are excellent, except needs to improve breakfast selections
Stayed here for a second time and equally impressed second time round. Would stay here a third. Great location, lovely staff, clean rooms and amazing breakfast buffet. Also has a small but excellent gym which isn't advertised but was easy to access.
Our room was quite dark and the lighting was not enough. However, everything else was excellent
Great location great staff good breakfast and loved my room with balcony.
Some little things missing in room , Iron, Phone , tissues..only one chair..lots of space for more.
It was very nice. Super accommodating. Rooms are fine. Walls are very very thin. Bring ear plugs.
I'm a regular. The hotel is centrally located. Staff is amazing. From front desk to restaurant.
Property was great! About. 10-15 walk from city center. Perfect disatnce to walk off all the food. Morning breakfast was amazing.
Arrived early before 3pm check in was asked to wait a few minutes which was fine of course. Went to the roof top and had a coffee came back at 3pm. Room was not ready. Waited in the reception until 3.25pm and asked and my room number was changed. I assumed as my original room was not ready. Once I got to the room I expected to have a balcony area as per the images on the website I smoke hence why I wanted this room. This was also my first trip alone so if I felt uncomfortable at anytime I knew I could go back to my room. Spoke to receptionist - told me no smoking rooms which I understood but I spoke about the balcony area. Went back to my room and every single room on my floor was with a balcony area. My original room number 501 / 505 both had balcony’s areas Questioned again and was then told no you have to pay more. I said this isn’t clear and the woman on reception stated I will speak to the booking team. After this I gave up, but I would have paid more or stay somewhere else for this reason. Also used the iron and my power went out. Room was not made up until after 3pm each day which was a bit annoying when I wanted to relax before going out in the evening. Rooftop staff were great. Extremely polite and helpful so that was one good thing and the hotel is very clean.
The location of the hotel was the best part. Staff was nice and accommodating. Wife was slow at times.
Modern and ease of access
The rating of this hotel needs to be lowered to 3 stars. The room is dark and in need of more lighting, dark walls, dark carpet, black comforter, black bathroom. Get rid of all the black! The a/c was turned off because it’s winter time and the heater was switched on. This made for a terrible stay and restless nights, the room was hot even with the window open. You can’t sleep with the window open because it’s too loud outside, had I known this I wouldn’t have booked this place. You break a sweat just getting ready in the am, yes even with the window open. Please make it known there is no a/c in the rooms during certain times of the year. The breakfast was your typical Italian fare, nothing to rave about. For check out you must check out at the front desk, very inconvenient, no one does this anymore. Staff was nice and accommodating, location was superb.
Experience is not so good because the bathroom is dark. You can’t even see yourself when you are having a shower. 3 stars hotel without tissue papers is not up to a standard. One has to use toilet papers for this purpose. The room’s temperature is high and there is no way to turn it down except to opening the window, but that creates traffic noise from the streets. The staff is good and they give goood services, especially those at the front counter. .
The hotel is well run. Excellent staff on the front desk. The breakfasts were very good. Plus they are adding a good coffee shop and restaurant.
Dark and small room smelt like smoke
First floor room. Close to indoor smoke room. Smelt from time to time. But breakfast was great and everything who worked there was kind and great service. Location was nice for Vatican.
Excellent property in the middle of numerous tourist friendly locations. Staff were professional and friendly, room was large and comfortable and the overall vibe of the area was perfect for us. Lots of pubs in the area so do not complain about the street noise. If I had one silly complaint, which is really a compliment…the hot water was literally boil an egg hot!! I love hot water and if you do too this is a bonus. Great location!
Nice find
Very nice hotel. Bed is firm and slept well. Restaurant on roof has beautiful view of St. Peter’s dome. Friendly staff.
In need of more room and kichen help.
We arrived at 10; told to come back at 1to check in. Arrived back before 3 and waited until 3:30 before room was ready and after 3 others separate guests checked in. Next day went out before 10; came back after 4. Room had not been touched: unmade beds, room not cleaned. Breakfast bags offered to those leaving was not honored. Told kitchen was too busy.
Room Was too small as advertised on website asked for a large soft room when booking room Was not as posted
.
Buena localización, limpio, cuarto amplio.
This was our first time visiting and we couldn’t have picked a better hotel. Everything is about 20 mins walking distance. Hotel was nice, staff were great!
Overall stay was great. Not too keen on the twin beds.
Small, walking close to a lot of sights-friendly
The hotel is located in a good area and close to the Vatican
Clean and good location
The location was great and quiet. The only con was that the bed we had in our room was a circle and it was hard to sleep with your feet hanging from them.
It was modern and clean. The room was nice but on the small side. The only downside was that there wasn't any drawers for clothes, so had to leave a few things in my suitcase. Also the drains in the bathroom smelt unpleasant/
Great location and very modern looks. The air conditioning doesnt work until may only heat so even though it was warm in March you had to sleep with the window open and listen to the road traffic at night to not overheat. Also the bedding was extremely firm making it difficult to sleep and painful in the morning.
This hotel is in the perfect location to go to the big tourist attractions and the hotel was clean and the staff were nice and friendly and the food was good for the breakfast buffet!
Great hotel. Would stay here again.
Great hotel
The staff were very attentive and welcoming
Great location. Central to tourist sites but far enough to experience Rome. Room was clean. Service was excellent. Staff is friendly, helpful and accomodating
Bedroom and bathroom were very dark; very poor lighting.
Close proximity to the sites and shopping. Quiet but accessible and good staff.
People, people, people
We were very pleased by the location and the room, but most importantly by the workers ... very helpful and welcoming to us ... highly recommend
Pro: Location is great. Walking distance to many tourist attractions, cafes, bars, and restaurants. Cons: 1.) I filtered hotels and chose one that offered parking. Upon arrival, I was asked if I have a parking garage reservation. Expedia did not give this option, but informed on-site parking is available for €25. The garage was full and we were sent to a satellite parking garage, which cost €30 (more expensive) and required us to walk back to the hotel with our luggage. 2.) WIFI in the hotel did not work. Lastly, save your money and eat at any of the locations away from the hotel.
Would stay again!
Walls very thin which wasn’t great when people in the next room were coming in at 3am and sitting talking with the tv on until 4.30. Breakfast ok but not great. Scrambled eggs looked like they’d been poured from a tap. However, staff were friendly, hotel very clean and comfortable. Good value for money for a Rome city centre hotel.
The hotel room is ok, there is a little sewer smell like other comments, bed mattress is extra firm, for those who loves it! Friendly staff!!! Location is amazing!
Great location.
Nice hotel and convenient location to visit Rome
Clean and tidy but limited amenities. Staff were friendly.
Great location and nice staff. The breakfast was good. Dinner wasn’t and not enough air conditioning in room.
Very dissatisfied with the 4 star rating.
The following is taking into account it is supposed to be a 4 star rated hotel. The Good: Hotel is in a good location. Water pressure is good. The Bad: Although the water pressure is good, the shower head bracket wasn't tightened up enough to put the water on full pressure so you couldn't even take advantage of it. The bed is solid, you may as well sleep on the floor. The pillows were so flat it wasn't far off sleeping with jusy a pillowcase. The WiFi is almost as fast as dial up when it actually works. The walls are very thin, you can hear the next room a little too well. The lights are so dark in the evening it's like being in a cave. For some reason the corridors to the rooms were being hoovered late into the evenings. What a pleasant way to relax after a great day of sightseeing. The Ugly: When we first moved into a room, upon first inspection it seemed to be clean. We did a quick sweep of the room to find that there were in fact termites in the furniture. We immediately reported this to the person on reception, who, to begin with completely dismissed us and told us there were no rooms available and that they were fully booked up. It wasn't until I showed him the video of the termites, that all of a sudden a room became available. We were moved into a disabled room which was worse than the first one. It had a poorer shower, it was less clean and had no view from the window. They only provided us with one towel in the bathroom.
Nice property. Great Service. Perfect location.
Exactly as pictured and much nicer than I expected. Room was comfortable. Spacious bathroom. Tiny shower. Great a/c. Location was amazing - 20 minute or less walk to EVERYWHERE you want to go in Rome. Service was fantastic. Great English if you need that. Highly recommend.
Nice boutique hotel.in a solid part of the city. Many bistros and food options on the same street. It's a 10 minute walk to the Auburn metro station. I would stay here again.
We had a great time. The location is amazing and the hotel is nice just like in the pictures. Its a bit difficult to get their by car, it could be a pain if you have heavy suitcases but other than that fantastic.
Everything was good except you can hear all the noise from the hallway and rooms. Definitely not soundproofing rooms. Other than that no other complaints. Close to train station and walking distance to most places we visited. Lots of good restaurants around as well.
Great hotel, great location in Rome
Hotel is stylish and in a great location between the vatican and piazza navona (10 to 15 mins in each direction). Good resteraunts and bars close by. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had a great time and would recommend the hotel.
Location location location
Best location. Close to all the main attractions we walked to 90% of all the attractions we went to. Affordable. Beds not so comfy. AC not working but opening the window was suffice during the spring weather. Did not try thr hreakfast because we were always on the go for our attractions. Felt safe in the area.
I had a great experience. Everyone was super helpful. Tatiana and the rest of the staff were amazing. They were helpful and welcoming. The hotel is walking distance to everything and the breakfast buffet is very good. The only things is that the internet is a bit slow. I totally recommend this hotel.
Great position. Beds could be a little softer. Great choice for breakfast. Friendly staffs.
Hotel 21 is
The multi-lingual staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Safe, convenient, very helpful front desk staff
Front desk staff were extremely helpful. No concierge desk could have been better. Neighborhood felt very safe, not far from Metro. We actually walked to most all the tourist places we visited, furthest was about an hour walk. Only complaints were that the beds are hard and although the hotel has air conditioning, controls are not by individual rooms only building wide.
Twentyone Hotel goes above and beyond expectations
We truly enjoyed our experience at Twentyone Hotel. We will certainly stay at this hotel if we are fortunate enough to return to Rome. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and to help us navigate the public transportation in Rome. The room was exceptionally clean. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was beyond approach with respect to cleanliness. We truly enjoyed our stay
Muy caro para lo que ofrecen
Este hotel no está cerca del aeropuerto está a 30 minutos de taxi si no hay tráfico no tiene dónde conectar ningún dispositivo es como una pensión no lo recomiendo como un hotel de 4 estrella es 1
i have stayed here before. great staff, rooms clean and roomy, great location, few blocks from subway and price is good for what you receive
The hotel was closed but they refused to refund us. They offered only a voucher to use within 12 months which is not suitable. Terrible service to hold back amount paid and not deliver the service. No comment from management other than “we are closed, here is your voucher” and haven’t heard from them again. Expedia customer service said I am entitled to a refund as the property is closed but no further communication from Twentyone Hotel.
It was very comfortable, the staff was very kind and accommodating and the room was nice and clean.
Great location, but lacking in services.
We have stayed at this hotel before and the location is great, but it is starting to look a little tired. For a 4 Star hotel I was also a bit disappointed with the facilities or lack of. There was no tea / coffee facilities within the room. The Hotel Bar shut at midnight, and bar staff were reluctant to give us glasses for drinks in our room. The Hotel is fine if your just looking for somewhere to crash after a day out exploring, but its not somewhere to spend any length of time at.
A really nice place in the middle of Rome. Just walking distance from the Vatican and many other amenities.
Safe and secure property. Great location walking distance for all main sites if able to walk.
I will highly recommend this hotel. It is in a great location walk in distance from a metro. It is in a safe location and the hotel is beautiful! The rooms were clean, super modern, and super friendly staff! I will definitely stay there on my next visit!
Amazing location, parking available but bad smell
Location is excellent, in a good neighborhood, walking distance to the historical center and to Vaticano. There is parking available per 25 euros a night. Unfortunately, there are some bad aspects related to this hotel: - the walls and windows are not soundproof, so it is possible to hear everything across the walls and from the street; - the bed is too hard, not comfort at all, and; - there is a strong smoking smell that comes from the bathroom.
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. An interesting point was round bed and bathtub/jacuzzi behind the bed separate from the shower. The staff were friendly and the location was in walking distance to all of the main tourist attractions.
Bad attitude and un friendly front desk staff
The front desk staff are not very friendly and warm. Very cold and unhelpful. Will not stay here again.
Lovely hotel
Really good location and price, lovely hotel and staff were very helpful! Would recommend highly
Great hotel....breakfast was nice and drinks at might were good too.
We had a great time, excellent costumer service...
Everything perfect, delicious breakfast buffet. Except the bed was so hard and old.
Clean rooms however lighting was a bit dim. Friendly staff.
Location and closeness to restaurants and cultural venues
Very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel it self is across the river from the city center but is a quick cab ride to any of the ancient monuments. The neighborhood is wonderful, a lot of nice shops and cafes close by. I would defiantly stay there again.
It is on good place twenty minutes of center and vaticana. Property is clean and nice. The small thing is that rooms are small.
The location of this hotel is very good, not too touristics, close to some really good restaurants. However, the front desk as well as restaurant staff is not friendly at all. Upon check-in we were greeted by a grumpy not friendly face of the front desk attendant who did not look happy to have to deal with us. We were checked into a accesibility room (were not warned about it at check in!) that is located RIGHT ABOVE the restaurant, so our room smelled like fried onions and french fries the entire time... The front desk staff looked annoyed the entire time we stayed at this hotel. Overall, I will not use this hotel again and do not recommend it to others.
The reception seemed very old and not clean, although the rooms were very clean, the reception made us a bit concerned before checking in.
I’d definitely stay here again. Only negative was the WiFi service was bad.
Close to Vatican city and city center. The breakfast was good and the room and decoration is quite elegant .
Great stay at Hotel 21
The location was safe, and convenient to restaurants, shops, attractions, and of course gelato. Our room was a good size as was the bathroom. It was quiet and comfortable for a nights rest after a long day of sightseeing. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I didn’t purchase the breakfast with the room, however we ate there a few days of our stay as it was convenient and there was a variety of food/drink choices. We always felt safe even walking around the neighborhood at any time of the day or night.
I enjoyed this hotel, it was quiet and comfortable. The decor was fun the shower was comfortable couldnt manage to turn on the rain shower but the handheld worked great. The supplies were good and the hotel was clean and comfortable and cool especially during the heat of Augustm it was walking distance to many things and a really good middle location. Between sites. The staff was pleasant , the stay was pleasant no complaints
This property is downtown and you are in walking distance of a lot of things. You are also a short walk from the metro which can take you pretty much anywhere you want to go. The staff is knowledgable of the area and very helpful. Breakfast buffet at the hotel was great, and they have a great diner menu also. My only two dings on the the hotel is the walls are a little thin, or the students next door on vacation were loud, and the beds were a little hard for my taste. I know others like very firm mattresses. Over all great hotel, I would stay there again when going to Rome.
Very clean, nice location, cool decoration, friendly staff!
Property itself excellent. Clean, well maintained, A/C worked well (a must for the 35 degree days). Front desk and restaurant staff are friendly, helpful. Had breakfast at hotel every day. Food & coffee were A+. Centrally located for visiting the city. My 5th time here over past 7 years. Twenty One continues to excel
Excellent hotel! Perfectly positioned in a very safe neighborhood. The hotel is modern and very comfortable. Its staff are very accommodating and polite. For example, doing trips to other locations in Italy, they held our main luggage before and after our stay at no cost so that we only had to take our necessities for a shorter 2-day trips (e.g. to Naples and Venice), which saved us having to haul enormous bags on trains. The rooms are spacious. Beds are very comfortable and bathroom was clean. The breakfast buffet was nice, with a good mix of savory and sweet. Only criticism is that the bathroom door is glass and does not lock - but not a major downside by any stretch. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!!!!
The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. the last time I was here the breakfast was included and this time they said I had to pay 8 euro.
Small room
Room with round bed definitely needs more room around the end to just get around, very difficult to do so. Also the room was smaller than the online pictures depicted. The best part of the stay, however, was the breakfast buffet, wonderful food and staff! Great city center location.
Not as expected
Hotel looked great online but was not as expected in person. The hotel was more rundown. The staff had some friendly people on it and others not so much. They did not go out of the way to help with anything. The room was smelly with dirty carpet and sheets that smelled. The location of the hotel was very nice and convenient.
Good area... Not to far from the Vatican
Love the hotel and the area... The room was a little warm and the bed was too firm... Only 1 pillow per person which usually you should have 2 per person... And please bring your own wash clothes because only towels and hand towels are given.

Perfect little hotel in a great location.. we felt safe walking around. Everything was walking distance.. no complaints at all.
