Free mini golf, an outdoor pool, recreation area, pool table, ping pong table and a huge unit with two floors and two bedrooms. What wasn’t to like?

We enjoyed the stay

This is a big complex but out of peak season was quiet. It proved an excellent choice for access to national park and Lake Taupo. Our room was large and had everything we needed including all kitchen facilities. The convenient and inexpensive laundry room was particularly appreciated after several weeks of touring.

Very noisy, especially at night, since it is a few meters from the highway. There's no view at all.

We stayed here for two nights on our road trip. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Lots of places to eat and a local supermarket. There is a lot of facilities and a great pool, unfortunately no sunbeds. Great location for all the fantastic hiking trails in the area. Although we checked in out of hours this was still very easy and communication was really good. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us some great advice for our next location when we checked out. Great value, would definitely stay here again.

Quiet and comfortable. I wouldn't call it "deluxe". It was average with a tiny tv. Advertised separate room and photos were a bit deceiving. The room upstairs is on a balcony which overlooks the lounge. Photos showed bedside tables downstairs. There weren't any downstairs or upstairs. We found it inconvenient reaching for glasses, drink and phone on the floor. Heaps of instant coffee available but limited tea bags (3), had to buy more. Can we suggest a small carton of milk as the capsules don't go far and some drinking coasters so the wooden chest/table doesn't mark. Overall it was OK but the online photos need to be more honest - eg. Bedside tables and show the half wall upstairs in bedroom. The reason we wanted a separate room was because we were two single ladies and one of us likes to get up much earlier without disturbing the other. She couldn't put the light on downstairs without waking me up. We hope this feedback is helpful.

Nice hotel in good location for National Park

Reminded me of after hours check in procedure which is nice.

Easy to follow late check-in instructions. Great after hours service when I locked the keys inside - ooops. Room had everything we needed and bed was comfy. Shower had amazing pressure. Would love to stay again with time for the pool and mini golf.

Vacation in Turangi

I thought I had booked a single room; turns out the accomdations included two upstairs bedrooms and another bathroom! We also had access to the laundry room and after several days on the road, that was a lifesaver! Convenient location for the Alpine Crossing and rafting as well as for dinner, and grocery shopping for breakfast and lunch. Staff went overboard for us. HIghly recommend.

Preparing for Tongariri

Very nice simple lodge. Facilities all worked and were fine. Plenty of restaurants nearby or you can prepare simple meals in the kitchen which is reasonably well equipped. Bed comfortable and clean

We enjoyed our stop over stay at this quaint cottage. It was comfy, quiet and private. We would definitely stay here again when traveling here.

Great service but was disappointed with traffic noise throughout the night, didn't realise main road was by the room.

Always a wonderful place to stay

We arrived late afternoon in 28*. The room was very hot so I spent 20 minutes attempting to switch the air-con on, I then went to reception to ask how to work the remote, to be told the air-con did not work. We purchased a take out dinner from the local shop, upon putting it in the oven to warm it up, despite the oven switching on, the oven would not get hot. The television is a similar size to my computer screen & much too small to see from a chair.

Turangi Leisure Lodge was a fine place to stay--great lidging, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, nice shower and bathroom. We enjoyed playing mini golf one evening. Great place for families. Parking was very tight, and one night someone took our spot. Staff was great and licationvert convenient.

Amazing stay, perfect for doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing hike and others in the area! Room was huge and had all the essentials and was very comfortable, with a kitchen and large living room. Pool and courtyard were also great and we loved playing mini putt in the front! Would love to stay here again!

False advertisement.We were given 1980s room.Spider webs on walls and lamps.Stains on sofas.Property had plenty of renovated rooms available but not given to use.No oven in the kitchen.Pictures are from renovated rooms.For Laundary nedds token from reception which opens at 8 in the morning for limited time. Won't recommend to anyone.Just wasted our money

Relaxing in Turangi

Jacuzzi was great after hiking.

It was relaxing,friendly staff, fabulous accommodation, wonderful pool, good nights sleep, within easy reach for food.

Property was all good, but more than two sachets of coffee for two nights and three people would be better.

Very functional hotel for trip to visit Tongariro National Park. Hotel was as expected, very clean with plenty of room and everything working well. it is not a destination resort but a convenient place to stay in Turangi.

We loved the mini golf, spa and swimming pool

Pleasantly surprised by the lodge! Our room was anything but a room. 2 story apartment with 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and a washer and dryer! It’s a bit dated, but made up for it with the amenities! Also, we had covered parking right outside our door!

Great stay, easy to book & perfect for out one night during travels.

As this is my 5th stay at the Turangi Leisure Lodge, I have enjoyed every visit. The Comfort room is really spacious for a family of four. I love my bed — the pillow and mattress are so comfy. Overall, it was a very relaxing stay. I look forward to my next visit with my family.

We absolutely loved it here, tried the two and three bedroom units had everything we needed. The staff were amazing and helpful they are a credit to the lodge. Iocation is convenient to shop and restaurants/takeaways. We will be back and for much longer next time

Chalet-style accommodation was perfect for my family. Large bedroom, dining/lounge and bathroom. Highly recommend.

Great stay at this Budget hotel

We loved our stay at Turangi Leisure Lodge. It’s close to Tongariro pass for the big walk, well situated for restaurants and the local New World supermarket, and has loads of activities for the kids (pool, hot tub, mini golf, dvd library). To top it all off, the staff and lovely and eager to help whenever they can. Top marks for this budget hotel!!

Good location for exploring the surrounding areas and some nice touches such as ottomans for kicking up your feet after long hikes. However the property is showing signs of age and it’s just as bright outside at night as it is during the day due to all the lighting. Definitely bring eye shades. Also many of the dishes were dirty and had to be washed prior to use.

Neat tidy and AMAZING staff. Alot to offer entertainment wise. The room we had was a little bit lacking in privacy and was noisy between rooms but would still recommend staying here to anyone looking for a comfortable stay at a good price.

Great property - unfortunately our Tongariro Crossing was cancelled due to weather, but Sarah at Reception gave lots of great recommendations for other walks to do. Good location, walkable to a number of restaurants.

Comfortable and peaceful stay. Fantastic kitchen facilities. Shame the outside balcony light was on all night, and unable to switch off resulted in disturbed sleep, as off the main bedroom. Clean and tidy, could be cleaner. No iron.

Nice but a little noisy for some

Nice place although the main highway can be noisy for properties that back onto it.

Accommodation very good, shower pressure excellent, bedding and towels very good. What lets it down are all outside areas . The sign says renovations in progress but previous reviews show it’s been like it for many months. It needs a major overhaul as soon as possible.

Very spacious accomodation with upper floor open veranda bedroom. Full kitchen and family dining table and sofa. Supermarket & bottle shop close by with takeaway opposite and restaurants within walking distance. Close proximity to lake. 2 indoor hot tubs (spa) and swimming pool. Safe inside courtyard for children to play.

Beautiful loft-style rooms—pleasantly surprising and highly recommended!

After a long day at Tongariro the hotel was close and convenient. Given the size of Turangi there are not as many lodging options as Taupo, so expectations need to be metered. The hotel staff were amazing, and it looks like the property is undergoing some renovations outside. However, the unit we were in was very dated (carpeted headboard, broken and missing tiles in bathroom, etc.).

We had a late check in which was easy to manage and find our room. The accommodation was quite spacious, and provided a private car port. Beds were fine, as with the living area. However, we found some of the items in the kitchen weren't quite clean, and with a property this size, it'd be nice to also have a washing machine and dryer too.

Such a kind friendly person on the front desk. Understood we had children explained all the activities for them. We had such an amazing stay have already recommended to other travelling families would stay again!

It was a very pleasant stay, and my whole family had a relaxing time. We loved the Comfort Apartment, as it has plenty of space and the beds are very comfortable."Look forward to our next trip back to Turangi in January next year.

We were treated like old friends, with a fabulous welcome at reception, and simple check out. The spa was sooo welcome, the bed was comfy, the girls used the pool - even though it was cold and raining. Games room was well equipped and there is plenty of dining options within walking distance. Couldn’t fault any of it.

Great spot for families, plenty to keep them busy. Unit was clean and spacious. Very good value for money.

We got a room on the first floor next to reception, The wall is so thin I can practically hear what’s happening next door. As our room faced the car park, we can hear people talking, smoking or passing by. The room is very dated, bathroom looks like just upgraded but very basic, there’s not much choice in the area so manage your expectations. We check out after the first night although we’ve booked for 2 nights. For the price point of 200+/night, I certainly expect something better.

This is an unfortunate lodge - I don't recommend it at all. It is very old. I felt dirty just staying there. Booked for 2 nights, but left after the first night (my $$$ loss). For example, the bathroom was very dirty, broken tile countertop, cracking mirror and windows, and a shower from the 1960s. The furniture and carpet was extremely old and dirty. Kitchenette was just ... ugh!

Handy location, clean rooms, comfy bed

What you get for the price point is amazing. Warm, comfortable, spacious, practically a little house all to ourselves with all the facilities I expected AND more. Will definitely be coming here again should I need to stay in Turangi again.

Pros: heat pump was on when arrived at the property. Underfloor heating in the bathroom. Extra heater in the cupboard. Minigolf, pool table and table tennis table to keep the kids occupied after a day at the mountains. Convenient distance to all the eateries and supermarket. Spacious apartment with all the necessities. Full kitchen. Cons: needs renovation. Dated furniture, carpets and appliances. Cleaning needs a little attention. Had spider webs in the room.

We stayed for 2nights. Private parking and nice quiet place with lots of good food options close to the property. The only feedback is the bathroom needs some TLC. Otherwise the place is fine for the price we paid.

House keeping have problem.

Lovely rooms. Beds are kinda hard. Thin walls Will be lovely in summer Great bathroom and kitchen.

On arrival A/C was on and room smelt bad. Turned off the A/C and it was a bit better. Very poor condition especially in the bathroom. Tile’s missing around sink, dark mold on lower edge of window in bathroom. Flooring has dirt and stained areas. Yes this is the off season fall but the pictures on Expedia showed quite nice rooms. The design is awesome but would have liked a newer room. Only one night stay so managed but for the price should have had a newer remodeled room.

The property is great though under construction. New Zealand overall at this part is not pedestrians friendly and walking across the major roads all require one yielding to cars. Thus, we basically need to drive to a 5 min walk supermarket to get groceries. There's very limited dining options near this property.
