Ideally situated for the train station and access to the town.

We enjoyed our stay in the town of Zeist. Quiet and very close to nature. The rental bikes were well maintained and it took us 35 minutes (one way) to cycle to Utrecht. The hotel has a really nice cafe that is open late. The front desk were pleasant and they let us check in early! The room was clean and the bathroom had a nice sized tub. My only complaint is that the hotel smelled “old” if you know what I mean. It took getting used to.

Great hotel

Great stay, hotel lovely & clean & in a great spot. the only negative was that the beds were a bit soft and felt like the mattress was caving in.

This hotel was quite expensive for the awful condition that it is in. The rooms were old and shabby and the bathroom stank of sewage. I asked to have my room changed because the TV did not work. The second room was just as bad. But stank even worse.

Comfortable room and great breakfast!

I've stayed at this hotel on previous occasions, and this time I was lucky enough to have a room upgrade which was most appreciated. The hotel is closed to Leiden Central train station and also a short walk into the centre of town where there is a multitude of restaurants.

The Golden Tulip ( Tulip Inn) is in a very convenient location. It was only a block from the train station. It had a full service restaurant for dinner on its property. The location was walkable to the center of town and its museums.

Great hotel. A little dusty and the cleaner does not refill the teabags each morning when we had drunk them.

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay here. The location suited us perfectly as it was close to the train station as well as being really close to the old centre. Breakfast each morning was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were modern and clean. We didn't think there were enough lights (rooms a bit dark), but that was a minor. We would definitely stay there again.

Very efficient and friendly staff. Only downsides were the foam mattress, felt like I’d made my shape in it and it stayed that shape until I got up. Room at front of hotel, very busy road outside, quite noisy at night. Only one breakfast tea bag on tray, but two others we didn’t like. Instructions for coffee machine would be helpful, I wasn’t successful with my first cup, water leaked everywhere, used bath towel to wipe water up. Second cup okay. Friends asked how to work coffee machine, so advised them what to do and what not to do! Lovely area, shame only a one night stay. Near to train station and easy to get to from airport.

Great location near the train station. Not fancy but all that was needed for the night. Easy to walk around the city from this location. We ate at the restaurant and it was very good. They had a new menu and we enjoyed the vegetarian Wellington, gamba and chicken.

The Tulip Inn is ideally situated for all transport links. Shops, restaurants and bars are within easy walking distance. Staff are very welcoming and most helpful. Excellent restaurant and bar.

Our 8 day trip could not have been better. The hotel was clean and the staff were kind and very accommodating. The room was quiet and cleaned daily. I loved the espresso machine in the room. The location is excellent for walking or biking around Leiden. Central Station is literally across the street and on the other side of the block is De Valk Windmill. Really loved our stay here and will be back next time for sure. Thank you for making our first trip to Leiden such a success!

No fridge in room no safe for personal items, asked to vacate the restaurant at exactly 10 am whilst still eating breakfast so staff could clean the restaurant

Bed bites.

I have a bad reaction to insect bites and I can’t conclusively say that I got them in the room but they were all over my body so I suspect they were. This obviously had a negative impact on our stay. We asked for a double bed so they put a mattress over the twin beds so I don’t know how often it’s used.

This hotel is so close to the train station and a lot of shopping and dining opportunities - unbeatable. In room coffee and tea is good to start the day or relax after. We'd stay again. Only complaint - the tub is too high really.

All the staff are fantastic . Big shoutout to Dave the barman and is of menu cocktails Definitely be back. Leiden a fabulous city and 30 minutes to the major cities. use the NS train app. Easy to use and you do not have to use the booked train time.

Wonderfully located hotel about 500 yards from the rail station so we took the train on our visits to Amsterdam for only 21 euros round trip. Excellent breakfast and dining room above average. Close to town historical center in the very lovely town of Leiden.

Service was great, staff very helpful. I checked in early out of a red eye flight. Room assigned was originally street front and near elevator but it got changed without problems.

Great location near central Station but not noisy or unsafe in any way. Room was basic but very large and clean and comfortable. Staff was nice and professional and the morning breakfast buffet is enormous with lots of options. Highly recommend for enjoying Leiden and as a hub to take day trips to surrounding areas.

In addition to the excellent facilities and service we experienced at the hotel, its close proximity to the train and bus stations was a huge plus. The only thing we missed was a handle bar in the shower to make bathing safer. We were always concerned about slipping.

This is a good, basic place to stay. Access to the Leiden central train station is very good, and you can easily walk to the historic area. The rooms were clean and nice, though nothing special. Breakfast is a bit pricey but delicious.

Wonderful staff, very convenient location - both for access to public transportation and walkability into Leiden center. Could hear street traffic but despite being near the elevator, never heard other guests in hall or adjacent rooms. Would recommend!

Close to everything (city centre and train station). Very clean hotel. We had a comfort room and apparently the air conditioning controlled in that part of the hotel is done by the desk so FYI that you can’t make your room colder in that area. Otherwise, everything wonderful.

Big family room

A great spotlessly clean hotel with very friendly helpful staff. Location is perfect. A 5 minute walk to the station, so great to get to Amsterdam, and a gorgeous short walk along the canal into beautiful Leiden. We were very happy with our spacious family room.

Happy Stay in Leiden

I have stayed here before so was more than happy to book again. The hotel is really well located, very close to the train station and convenient to the town. The staff are always very professional and helpful. It is very good value for money, the breakfast during our most recent stay was excellent also.

I would describe this hotel as ridiculously over priced for the room we were given. It would appear cleanliness is not a priority with toilet brushes left with residual paper left unclean. Normally I would have complained however we were only there for 3 nights so put up with it.

We recwntly spent a comfortable 4 nights at The Tulip Hotel, it was situated perfectly for our needs, near the Station and cycle routes. Garage for parking and cycle storage on site worked well! Restaurant food was good

I rented a room here for my kids. The rooms are very basic and small. The rooms on the other side of the hotel “The Golden Tulip” are nicer and bigger - also more expensive. It was fine for the purpose and is sort of “dorm” like. The staff is nice and it’s close to the train station. It does not offer the level of comfort my husband and I are accustomed to for our ourselves.

Excellent location, satisfied with cleanliness of rooms. Strange open shower (meant that water got everywhere) and only one wall dispenser of all-purpose soap provided for both sink and shower.

I have stayed at TI before and its convenience to the romantic city of Leiden, closeness to Railway station and eating places; I just love to stay at Tulip Inn. But this time I was not upgraded to an executive room for price of standard room as I was the previous time over a year back. That will be nice the next time. Also, the reception staff very kindly retrieved a lost item of mine which a colleague from Leiden University will be picking up. Grateful for being informed about finding the item via email also. Best service in Europe; nothing like it in Britain; Don;t be worried about UK leaving EU !

Good location for sight seeing and family friendly

Great location for sight seeing and the decor is good, if not a little worn in places. They were very helpful with our little baby and had a cot in the room ready when we arrived. The beds we had, two singles pushed together, kept moving all over the place on the floor which wasn’t great and the mattresses were VERY soft and quite uncomfortable for me and my partner. Staff were friendly and helpful and the selection of drinks and snacks in the bar was good.

Big hotel in a cozy town

Very large hotel, so not as charming as we were hoping, but such wonderful accommodations. Comfortable beds, great WiFi, friendly staff, minutes from the train station, easy bus to Keukenhof to see the tulips, walkable from canals with delicious restaurants and charming university district. We booked for the location to Keukenhof and price, but ended up really enjoying our evenings in Leiden. I would recommend!

Nice hotel close to Leiden Centraal Station

The mid-range hotel adjacent to the more upscale Grand Tulip, this hotel is low on frills but great on everything else. Beds were small, but comfy. Front desk staff was very good, and their English was excellent. Great location if arriving by train, just a little over a block for the main station, and honestly a great location to use as a base to explore much of the Netherlands. All of Leiden fairly easy walking distance from here as well. Price for what you get was steep when I stayed, but that would be my only complaint.

Motel pretending to be a hotel!

Extremely simple motel with no service or amenities that seem to cater to the older generation. Further, the only reason this place is still in business is that they are very few options in the beautiful city of Leiden. Disappointed is an understatement.

Nice hotel close to all amenities

Lovely hotel, large rooms and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Very close to the train station and all shops, cafes etc. The only thing missing is tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Great Hotel Well Situated

This hotel is modern and comfortable. It's a 5 minute walk from Leiden central station and 10 minute walk into the centre of Leiden with its restaurants and shops. It has a very nice bar with relaxed seating and a nice restaurant that does a good breakfast. The staff are extranet helpful, friendly, and professional. I stayed here for 3 nights and had a very pleasant stay with no issues at all. I would defiantly stay here again and would 100% recommend.

We had a good 5 days stay in this hotel. So close to train station and bus stop. There are good places to visit within walking distance. Shops and restaurants are all nearby as well. Could have been excellent if the hotel provide tea and coffee maker inside the room other than that all good.

The room was spacious and clean. It was very convenient to walk to the hotel from Leiden Staff were friendly. Restaurant Rubens serve lovely food. Only downside was there was no kettle in the room, hence we could not make our own hot drinks.

Beautiful Hotel near Historic Center and Canals!

This cute little hotel was located near the historic center and shopping district. It also had easy access to the canals (and wonderful cruise options)!

Nice place to stay

We needed to kill one and half days before flying back to the US from Schiphol. The hotel is next to Leiden train station which is a 20min train ride from the airport. It is a 5min walk away the very nice city center of Leiden. I prefer this over the airport hotels near the airport which are typically located in fairly boring neighborhoods. The hotel itself is very clean, our room was spacious, service is very friendly. Internet is fast. All we needed. I might use it again when I have to stay near the airport.

We stayed at the Tulip Inn whilst visiting Leiden and the hotel was exactly as we expected i.e. comfortable, clean room with no frills. No tea/coffee in the room but there is complimentary drinks in an area on the ground floor. The location was excellent, being so close to the train/bus station and within easy walking distance to the town centre. It is was pretty quiet.
