This is our second time staying at this hotel. I strongly recommend it. The service is excllent the included breakfast menu is out of this world. And the staff take it very serious any inquiries or concerns you may have at that moment.

Rough night at GYE Wyndham Tryp

Heavy glass door partially fell off the track when we arrived to our room. We called the front desk for help and they took a long time to arrive. We were completely stressed out waiting for them to come help us. They finally came and moved us to a smaller hot room but brought us a portable AC. It just took so long to finally get the room comfortable to relax after traveling. There is a dance club next door that blasts loud music. I had to go to the front desk at midnight to ask about the noise and was told the club closed at 3 AM. I was given another interior room to escape the noise (staffer who help me was nice and apologetic). Honesty, the accommodations were very basic. The beds, desk and chairs are IKEA quality and we were not impressed by the room. The breakfast was basic and simple. I expected more for the price we paid especially after having such a bad night there.

I was put in the second floor, which was very noisy because there is some kind of office located there. After approximately 6 PM, it quieted down.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful. I arrived at the hotel at 1 pm, and although the check in was at 3 pm, his willingness to offer me to check in ahead if there was a room ready it was really appreciated.

The view from my 5th floor suite was amazing. We could see almost the entire city and into the stadium next door. It was great!

I didn’t know they have s rooftop and for me it was noisy. I think it was not clean enough. The staff was very friendly and eager to attend the guests.

What I did like is the view but the bed was hard to sleep, and the pillows were not great. The bathroom had damage on the floor. It was not repaired. The breakfast was good, but not enough selections. Every day was the same the staff was slow in the restaurant, the rooftop was beautiful, and the front desk were very professional and courteous and very helpful And the weekend the area you could hear all the commotion outside couldn’t sleep

This property should not carry the name of Wyndham as the service it’s terrible. On the site said noise free and the room was under bar the noise from the cars outside and people coming to the bar talking loud terrible experience

The TRYP by Wyndham Cuenca Zahir far exceeded any expectations that my wife and I could imagine. The room was immaculate and beautifully appointed. The hotel is centrally located with many shopping opportunities, and the Pumapungo ruins (a bit of a hike, but not bad) within walking distance. A wide variety of traditional Ecuadorian and international cuisine is also available within walking distance or via restaurant delivery services similar to those in the U.S. All of the above pales in comparison, however, to the staff of the TRYP by Wyndham Cuenca Zahir. Every member of every team, from concierge, to wait staff to housekeeping, is warm, welcoming and courteous. John, who works in the restaurant, kept us drinking and eating without wait. He was a rad guy and I will consider him a friend for life. Many staff members are multi-lingual and all staff members seem genuinely happy to help with any questions. We did not have one negative experience at the TRYP by Wyndham Cuenca Zahir. We would have stayed forever!

It’s close to the airport

We are a family of 4 adults, the room was too small for us and it was very hot. What we liked was the proximity to the historic center, We could walk without worries from the hotel to the city center. We only stay one night. If you want to see the historic center will be so hard to find parking so the hotel location for that purpose is excellent if I have to stay longer probably I I’ll go to a spacious, relaxing place far from the historic center.

I do not recommend this for a long stay. This is good for a long weekend. There is not enough space to store clothing for a week or longer with more than one person. There are not laundry facilities on premises as the ad stated. I would recommend booking directly with the hotel and not use Expedia. The rooms for Expedia are worse than the rooms advertised. We booked 3 rooms and one of the rooms needed to have the toilette fixed. That said, the staff is absolutely exceptional. They are very friendly and attentive. My family is not the easiest group of people and they put up with them more than I could have. The views are absolutely amazing, whether towards the church domes or the stadium. You are a walk away from everything you need…Supermaxi, restaurants, bars, shopping, Turi, downtown. It does get loud in the area at night, so not good for the light sleeper.

My family and I stayed for first in this hotel. In my experience, the attention of the staff was excellent. There are two things that I did not like, it was the pillows and there was no iron inside the room. I will stay in this location and place again.

Excellent overall hotel experience. Jon was especially amazing and hospitable. We loved the rooftop bar and the views. Just need housekeeping to improve their service by remembering to supply towels and toilet paper in the room LOL! Also the restaurant service could be a lot faster.

Decent hotel. Some staff were wonderful and some staff was not. Food was amazing. Best - I was able to watch a live football game from my bed because the stadium is next door. Worst - horrible uncomfortable pillows. I had a rough time sleeping because the pillows were the most uncomfortable ones I’ve ever seen.

Second time staying at this hotel. Definitely recommend it. Great location.

Hotel is nice and view from room and roof is gorgeous as well as breakfasts was good. No doorman to help when first arrive to show where to park, no help with luggage. Bas experience the night we stayed Friday because in room 505 there was a party and prostitutes walked in front of everyone in the lobby to get up to that room, just unbelievable that a hitel will allow this. Very noisy inside, very noisy outside due to another party. Lady in counter didn't want to move us to a different room (our room was next to the prostitutes room). At the end they had no choice but to give us a different room after we asked loke ten times. Not going back to yhis hotel anymore.

Over all our stay was good except the first day when it took four call a several hours to obtain enough towels for all 3 of us. It wasn’t extra towels After that things went smoothly. Love the restaurants and the personnel

They did not allow us to go inside our room till 3 pm, but when we come, there were no towels at all. Next night at 2 am some people on our floor start using noisy music and screaming. Hotel staff called for police and it took them more than 1 hour to fix it. We did not sleep till morning. Hotel does not have any city or area map and can not explain us how to reach any historic place.

Nice vibe. Older propery that is fairly updated. Friendly and professional staff. The location is great. We loved the restaurant and ate a lot of meals there. The only rooms that seem to have ac/heat are the suites. Our room presented us with the choice of traffic noise and fumes OR hot and stuffy. This is a great place for short tourist visits but not for business trips or extended stays. We would stay here again if we could get a suite.

Amazing service except the top floor restaurant

The place is great, good location, relatively close to the downtown area, good work out climbing the hills. Center square is charming, and good vib.

Let's start with what the hotel DIDN'T EVEN HAVE: heating or air conditioning, face cloths, a bath towel bar next to the shower door instead of a hanger hook on the door, shower stall mats on slippery shower stalls, marginal storage for clothing, and we had no instruction about how to get the lights to come on by inserting a room access card into a slot by the door. The complimentary breakfast was really AWESOME and much appreciated. The complimentary bottles of water was also very thoughtful especially for Norte americanos who have problems with local water. The housekeeping staff was perfect in every way! Prompt, helpful and always pleasant! The front desk staff was very helpful after our arrival with assistance and information.

Beautiful hotel with amazing rooftop dining experience. Very helpful and pleasant staff. My only criticism would be the lack of AC in the rooms. And because of their not being AC requiring guests to leave the windows open and unfortunately take in all of the outside noise.

Cons: Rooms get hot and stuffy. Most rooms lack air conditioning and ceiling fans. Loud. You need the windows open because rooms are hot and stuffy, however it's noisy. Music blaring, car horns, people partying across the street and in parking spaces outside the hotel. Lack of good laundry service. They charge by the piece instead of by weight. Pros: Staff at desk, housekeeping, and restaurant staff treat you like you're the most important person in the world. Awesome food in restaurant. Room service. Close to great stuff (mall with movie theater, great little cafes, soccer stadium, Parque de la Madre) Direct TV Tub with detachable shower sprayer in some rooms.

The staff is so friendly and helpful! They all seem to speak English (although I like to use Spanish, and they are very patient). The rooms are comfy and super clean. The restaurant has delicious food. You can eat in the restaurant, or they will bring it to your room. They are very sweet. They gave us an upgrade for no charge (we didn't even ask for the upgrade - they just offered it to us). I love the place! It's right across a small street from the football stadium. It's a few minutes' walk to Parque de la Madre.

The room was a bit hot and stuffy at night. We had the windows open, but a car was outside blasting music all night for some reason. We finally gave up on the car leaving, and we closed the windows at about 5am.

The personnel was outstanding but the property needs a LOT of work. My husband went to close curtain panels and the entire system fell on his head. They moved us twice but the pictures dont represent the actual rooms
