Arrived couldn’t locate booking wanted me to pay again then chase down the refund myself. Staff were under training and couldn’t manage the change over to the new owners. Room was messy with air conditioning not working properly. Gardens over grown and pool unkept.

Wonderful staff, comfy bed and pillows. Lovely pools convenient to everything. Reception are extremely helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

Room was clean and comfortable. Location was an easy walk to resturants, entertainment ect!

Conveniently located near shops and central Darwin area. The room was clean and fresh. Staff were helpful and friendly. The pool and gardens provided a tropical vacation feel in spite of being located in the middle of the city.

Great location

The location is excellent and within walking distance to the beach and the grocery store.

The staff had been more than accommodating. I fell ill and had to book in for an extra week. The room i booked was cheaper than my original one. They have left me where i am for the week and i am very grateful.

Love it will stay again

The air conditioning online room was not working it was swelteringly hot. We had to sleep with the door open. Notified staff and tried to rebook on check out and was told that’s Darwin and to go online to book.

Negatives: Upon checkin- i was not advised of where the gym was or other facilities. No notice of what time pool opens or closes. No map of surrounding area. No information. Just directions to my room. Not sure if it was because it was late at night?? I found the desk in my room to have stains, and hair was found in the bathroom. the vents in the bathroom were disgusting. The doona was stained yellow-although it was covered with a top and bottom sheet- i was hot and wanted to sleep with only one sheet- big mistake! The doona was disgusting. The doona really should be discarded. Not impressed with the cleanliness. Pool-more lightning required by the pool with the water feature. Clean up of leaves and debris around the pool- as it was being blown into the pool or stepped on and carried into the pool. Positive: Gated hotel-feel more secure. Location: 15min walk to the waterfront. Opposite a supermarket. About a 4-6 minute walk to a few pubs. Loved the pool area. Plenty of deck chairs. Lots of seating area in the lobby. Good size bedroom. Very comfy bed.

Great location and friendly staff. Breakfast was included which had a very nice fruit salad and hot breakfast. Would stay here again. Pools were a welcoming feature everyday for us.

Great value for money during peak season. Well located in the CBD. Rooms were a little dated but all facilities worked, aircon was great and shower pressure was amazing. Staff very very friendly and helpful, will stay again.

The staff in certain areas seemed to be untrained, especially in food service areas. The room we were in first was extremely noisy with slamming doors, screaming and fighting going on all night. We were moved to another block and it was much better. The room cleaning and servicing was terrible until a new lady took charge and for the first time the room was done perfectly. Continental breakfast was cornflakes, coco pops and fruit. The croissants were often all gone and not replaced. Expensive cornflakes at $20!

This is a property that was probably great once but has been neglected badly. The grounds are untidy, food and bar service very limited and room facilities just passable. The good bits: excellent staff clearly stretched and the location is great.

We picked this room for the value of space provided (townhouse) and location. The toilet height was a bit odd in that it was lower than expected so it always had a bit of a drop feel using it like it was meant for kids. Some minor issues here and there which I guess took away any wow factor about the place. We didn’t mind using the place as we got what we needed…an acceptable place to stay.

Great place to stay

Wasn't the first time ive stayed here & certainly wont be the last. The hotel itself is centrally located to the Darwin CBD and accross the road from Woolworths for those handy dash to the shop items. The room was let down by the blind letting in sunlight as it is getting tired & worn although still clean and usable it ckuld use an update. Everything else was as expected and made up for the early morning wakeup.

The room was comfortable. There's a supermarket and bus stop conveniently located across the street. Stayed here as it's one of hotels for the shuttle for the ghan train.

Probably stayed there 10 times always come back This time though twice I had someone try to break in through the sliding doors over the week I stayed reported both times. Hardly slept because of it Didn’t feel safe because of it. Both tv’s didn’t work as well which was also reported Neither issue was resolved I never fill these things out but felt I had to I felt I have wasted my money staying there this time

Clean, modern & well situated in Darwin CBD.

Check in seemed rushed by attendant, however room was clean and well laid out, facilities were modern and in good order, with apartment nicely presented and a good base within the CBD to get to everything a short walk away. I'll be stating here again.

So started with check in : very good lovely reception, area clean. then went downhill from there, had an apartment so had bags of stuff as well as luggage, fridge full of food... didn't realise there was no internet wifi until a few hours later, approached reception told if nothing they will give us another room. which they did... didnt offer to help move our bags or anything i had to ask for a trolley.. then moved from rear of the hotel to the front of the hotel... room the same... Aboriginal guests were yelling and letting all their family and friends in through a little gate at the front, late at night.. next day went out as i had a late check out time 1pm.. returned about 12pm to get my belonging and couldn't get into my room as card was deactivated. went to reception reactivated, went to room to grab my stuff load my car. went to get back in card expired again after 5 minutes ?? luck my partner was inside to let me back in...... i won't be back very disappointing hotel.

Get what you pay for

Comfy bed. AC didn’t work. Carpet and floor were filthy. General odour in the room. Cheap toilet paper. Cheap room.

Mould all in bathroom floor walls.. definitely looked a lot nicer in the photos then in real life.. aircon was super loud you could hear the unit outside all night.

Good vslue in downtown location

Even though this property is listed as a “resort” it is conveniently located in the downtown area of Darwin, easily accessible to local bus, grocery store and other shopping as well as other sights. Our room was very clean and there was coffee and tea in the room as well as a refrigerator. The air conditioning was easy to set to a comfortable temperature and the room was spacious, including a table and chairs. There is a lovely pool on the premises, but although there are a series of steps to enter, there are no railings so I could not get in and out safely by myself, which was disappointing. The other amenity missing was an ice machine - if you want ice for drinks in your room you can only ask for a plastic cup half full of ice from the bar during their service hours. If we had the opportunity to return to Darwin we certainly would consider staying here again. Very good value.

Really enjoyed the pool, plants and outdoor eating where the outdoor facilities let you enjoy what you went to the tropics for, not cooped inside concrete walls.

Nothing unique. No help with baggage handling. Poor communication regarding taxi arrangements.

2nd time here, this time in a townhouse. Good location

As I mentioned in my Google review. The hotel is a little dated, but clean and comfy bed. My issue was with the staff reaction when I raised two small issues spoilt my impression of the hotel!

Our townhouse was clean and staff very friendly. Location is central so makes for easy access to lots of Darwin activities. Declined breakfast as did not have a huge selection, low or empty offerings and did feel was of a high standard of cleanliness. The property in general appears dated but might stay again as overall ok.

Just a quick over night stay but this has been our go to over 30 years. Noted the property has been renovated to a nice contemporary feel.

No hot water, maintenance didn't fix when reported. No credit or reimbursement offered just a "Oh im sorry for the inconvenience" Cold showers for three days...This was in No 17 Apartment that was expensive in peak season. Will never recommend Traveldoge to any friends and certainly wont ever stay at a Travelodge.

Woolworths across the road for shopping

Receptionist had a foreigner aNd very difficult to understand. As a single female travelling on my own, I did not feel safe and secure given the layout of the premises and where my room was located. I did like the fact that the room was very clean.

Had an enjoyable stay. Staff were lovely. Property was clean and tidy. Would definitely stay here again.

Den - the Malaysian receptionist found out it was my birthday. He organised a wine and some fruit platter to our room! He was so sweet and kind. Housekeeping team were also amazing! Kudos!

Visiting Family in Darwin

This is our 3rd time staying at the Travel Lodge.. we always take a town house which provides a lot of room to entertain our grandson .. the unit is clean , serviced daily, very comfortable bed and pillows, air conditioning is very effective.. All Staff are friendly, helpful and cheerful .. and the pools are a big hit with our grandson ..we will definitely look to stay again when we are visiting family

I was really disappointed with my recent stay at Travelodge Darwin. This has been our regular place to stay when we come to Darwin every few months. The room we stayed in was not in good shape at all. Rubbish was left in the bin on arrival, the toilet roll holder was broken and hanging off the wall, the towel rail was broken and coming away from the wall, the soap dispenser in the shower was broken, there was mould on the front door, toys and rubbish were found behind the curtains and upon arrive he were informed that there was now a $10 a day cost for parking now, which was not advised or was it apart of my booking information. I was really disappointed with how quickly the new renovated rooms have been broken and not looked after. Outside the ground around the hotel and car park are run down and have long grass and weeds growing in them.

Christmas in Darwin

The second time we stayed at Travel Lodge Darwin in a town house .. very roomy and comfortable.. great pools for the kids.. easy access to shops and walking around the city.. all staff friendly and helpful

Pool

Great resort hotel in the city that is very safe with entire property access only available to guests via key card (other hotels allow anyone to use the pool and bars). Pool area was fantastic with a bar right where you swim. Room clean and very quiet.

No smile at check-in and had to ask for the VIP benefits as they were all forgotten. No offer of a room upgrade and just dismissed when questioned. Felt unwelcoming and needs to be improved. The property itself is modern and the room spacious and comfortable. Pool was nice as well. Didn’t explore around the area, just stayed one night.

Refurbished large rooms & clean. Poolside towel counter didnt open until later in the morn so pool collection back at reception - odd when people go to pool after breakfast. Bfst room full of flies and bugs - even on uncovered fruit so.didnt eat there again!

Family Time in Darwin

Travel Lodge Darwin was a comfortable and convenient base for visiting family in Darwin..The grandkids (and us) loved the pools .. the town house was roomy and sufficient.. my only criticism would be ,whilst not expensive, not being informed of the on site parking charge.. overall a great stay and would definitely book again .

Web site states resort has room service. No such service exists. I would have thought for a resort charging over $1200 for 2 nights stay that there would be room service. I checked the web site before booking and this was the reason I selected the Darwin Travelodge. I ordered a meal from outside the resort on two occasions from the same provider. On the first occasion the delivery person was sent to the room with the delivery. On the second occasion the delivery person was refused access and I received a call from reception advising I had to call at reception myself to collect the order which by this time was cold. I asked about consistency in approach and was told the Resort does not offer room service. Hardly acceptable for a resort with a room rate higher than the the Hilton in Sydney CBD.

Quite disappointing service. Body wash bottle was empty, only 2 towels for 3 people and Wifi not working in the room. Asked twice reception to get body wash refill and another towel. Nothing was done. Maybe this is is peak season service in Darwin but would try another hotel next time.

Disappointing

Great location. Service disappointing. No sheets or blankets for our toddlers cot even though we asked. Bar closed at 9pm and receptionist couldn’t deliver room service. Pool area spacious but not maintained well. Some staff very pleasant but others not so.

Had a village like feel given it wasnt a high rise building, the pool & outdoor bar area very attractive and comfortable . would like to stay there again

The service at the front deck was very good. On my first night I waited twice for ten minutes for a Beer and when I got my meal it was terrible I could only eat quarter of it. I left and and didn't return eating out the next three days

From the minute you walked in with the beautiful decor it felt like home, the beds and linen very comfortable would stay again short walk to everything

Great city location within walking distance of all restaurants, bars, shops, Festival park, coastline, Mindil Beach markets. Lovely pools & garden areas to relax in. Clean spacious rooms.

Nice place to stay very friendly and accomodating staff

The staff were extremely helpful. The reception and pool area are beautiful. Room was nice, however the AC just above the beds meant the AC blowing in my face all night. Not a great sleep.

Good location but this place is starting to be very dated. Pool area is looking very old and shabby. Very tired looking paving all over resort. They do not appear to provide a make up my room service on Sundays with them not telling us of this. Staff very friendly and helpful at all times.

Would stay here again.

They've remodelled since my previous stay. Reception and rooms were nice, clean and modern. Majority of the rooms are around the pool, so could hear early swimmers through the door. Was not enough to stop me from staying here again. Negatives. No hot water in the morning. And no breakfast deal included.
