nice
Affordable, not fancy
It was affordable and so centrally located for walking around downtown. However, it was very loud at night due to only window leavers so heard all kinds of noises outside. And no hot water in the shower. Great happy hour at the bar!
It's like a historical place
Temperature control was lacking, too breezy. Stairs were difficult for older folks. Breakfast was late, but good.
Convenient, clean property, close to the Cruise Ship port, but far enough away to avoid excessive noise and crowds. Pleasant staff and a continental breakfast included. Good value.
Hotel outdated
My stay was nice i enjoyed it the staff was very pleasant and has good customer service.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel is beautifully decorated, I wanted to go shopping! I will stay there again!
Great place to stay for junkanoo
Only problem we had was pool was empty and we were not told till arrival
I love the staff that work they nice and friendly. And very helpful
Bahama Birthday
The location was excellent to everything we wanted to do. Service was good and everyone was friendly. They lacked enough electrical outlets and the breakfast could be better.
Nice and cozy place.
Furniture broken Windows are no possible to close well Noise from out side Guys had party in the swimming pool from 8pm till 4 am o’clock the person on desk doesn’t saying nothing
Walkable to everything right there in Downtown area.
You really need to upgrade your pillows. My throw cushions on my couch are bigger
Older hotel in downtown area with a nice outdoor pool. Staff was extremely friendly and Max the bird was entertaining. Restaurant in hotel is a plus especially since everything around closes early.
Interesting and pleasant stay
Unique and friendly vintage hotel. Downtown location. Walking distance to shops, beaches, restaurants, rum, distillery. Very good service from all staff. Adequate breakfast included. The room could use more electrical outlets. Our suite included a microwave and a refrigerator which worked no problem. Enjoyed the balcony very much. Things were a little bit worn. Shower head. That was not great. Beds were nice. And pillows. Plentiful.
rooms out dated bathrooms small no room service
No elevator
The water at best was barely warm in bathroom. You can feel springs in the beds. The handles on some drawers were broken. The bottom of the drawers were broken. Had to use two remotes to work TV. Musty smell in room
It's hard to write a bad review because people were nice. But you can't sleep here. First night a concert one block away until 3:30 AM. Every other night it was the paper thin walls with no sound proofing you can literally hold a conversation with people outside you room. It's awful. Breakfast was fine basically toast, a frozen muffin, orange slices and salami hard boiled eggs. We stayed here because it's close to everything and across from the tourism office. Also heard it was owned by Bahamian family. But man put some effort in and this could be such a cool place
Nice property
Convenient
They were busy with renovations and banging in the room next to us early on a Sunday morning and the staff didnt seem to worry one bit even when I brought it to their attention that its a Sunday and wanted to sleep and relax
The staff were awesome and very nice kept the hotel clean and the food was amazing
My wife and I enjoyed the stay. The hotel staff were nice and the food was amazing.
The Bird. No really the whole staff tried to accomodate all your needs and after working all year I appreciated that. Be back next year
The property has a uniqueness to it. I honestly love the parrot Mike and also the staff is extremely present. I wish thou they would have placed a small fridge in each room. That woukd make the stay a bit more comfortable.
The location is great and staff is great especially the manager. But property lacks the basic amenities such as no shampoo or conditioner or body wash, zero water bottles or coffee maker in the room. There needs to be pest control in the property, basically it’s a bed and breakfast and not hotel. The sockets are very old. No socket in the washroom to insert dryer or shaver. The staff is hospitable but property really needs TLC.
The staff is very friendy, kind and helpful. The breakfast is nice, and I love the fact the hotel is close to the Catholic Cathedral, shops, restaurants, bus stop, museums and other tourist sites. No hot hotel to bathe...it did not work in the room I was.
I liked that it was in a good spot. Walking to places was easy
The property is good, room is simply decorated and has a refrigerator. It hasa small pool and a good restaurant. A continental breakfast is included.
Everyone was very nice.
No hot water
No hot water to take a shower
Older inexpensive hotel in downtown Nassau
Definitely an older hotel, but very clean and friendly staff. There wete limited outlets for charging devices. The room we had was rather small, but the dood was good.
Some value for the price
It would be greatly appreciated if the low-budget hotel could be upgraded. It is quite inconvenient to have to wait to be buzzed in when the door is locked, and the lack of an elevator is also a hindrance.
Good services
It was a good stay looks really nice but if you’re more into luxury etc thats not the place to be
Nice enough room, but faulty shower.
The room was clean and big enough for my needs. One major problem was discovered when I tried to take a shower before checking out. The knobs to adjust the water flow, essentially the hot water, did not work properly. This prevented me from taking a much anticipated shower before continuing my trip. It was detected too late to get fixed before I checked out.
It has always been my second home
Cheap place to stay with decent happy hour. Room was clean and smelled of disinfectant. Close to downtown so it f you need a cheap place to overnight.
The staff are exceptional. The last few times I have been there the water did not get hot in the showers, only lukewarm. Some rooms need detailed cleaning. Slow season is a good time to work on that.
Overall very clean but rooms need to be upgraded Plumbing old. Water heater took some time to heat. Doorknob was not working. Difficult to get out of the room
They heat up my food in the microwave cause I didn’t buy food from them I never see hotels do that I am customer how u could treat customer like that but I love the staff they helpful they told the owner don’t want they to microwave to heat up guests food
The apperance of the Door security looks like old
Perfect location for the Buisiness i was doing ,everything close by . The food and bar is very good . Staff friendly and very helpful. Owners are great as well .
Poor plumbing, using trash can/bucket to flush toilets for 2 days.
Perfect, with a swimming pool when it’s to hot, everything great, near the beach
This was my first time here and needed to extend to a day but changed my mind because of the condition. Toilet keeps clogging, limited hot water always cold, clogged sink, half a roll of toilet paper with no extra, very old, the breakfast same each day. Muffin, cheese boiled eggs bread salami and orange tang. I checked out and went to a different hotel.
Nice place. Not fancy, but the restaurant and bar was nice. Good food. Most of the nearby restaurants seem to close after the cruise ship leaves. Nice staff who work there. I would go back
Everything was great ,especially the lady who cooked breakfast in the kitchen and also the housekeeping lady.
Very quite and close to downtown perfect for walking. And getting around town .
Parking
Pool dirty green allergy iside the water, roaches, mouse, all over, unsafe place for people to stay, health département need to stop by,to check the condition of that place.flies all around when people eating food inside this place.
Very displeased at the appearance of room and furnitures.Pls bear in mind that to treat others the way you like to be treated. I am used to my nice home and furnitures. my carribean nationality should not defined. Lastly, a huge roach the big one scared the heck out of me, I know these are in the Carribean but upkeep rooms, my 40 yrs in Canada I have never seen these and expect a nice clean room. I checked out the next day. Pls upgrade your property. One plus, staff were ok.
The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Love that it is just a short walk to the US Embassy.
This property is exactly what it advertises: its a locally owned, small island hotel. Its dated, but the staff is invested and lovely. We have stayed here before and will stay again for a night or two. Also close to downtown.
No Elevators! All rooms are on upper floors. Cluttered decor, very outdated and old rooms. Beds sweaty and uncomfortable. Musky corridors, poor A/C condition, not enough room security. I would not revisit.
Familiar environment!!!
Cockroaches in bathroom when I Arrived. Charged more than I expected like 10,15$. walls were too thin-i could hear the music at night from down the road till 2pm. the breakfast in morning didnt have enough vegeterian option for my friend. the pool didnt look clean enough nor the parrot stand in lobby. the wifi situation is somewhat annpying. you have to login to many different witi for each floor/area/room. fridge had water all over jt.the positives were that i mwt some indian people there, i loved rhe art in the premise. i walkee to graycliff frim there wherr you can see the chocolate fsctory and s nicr souvenir shop. i didnt have chance or time to go to the pirates museum. hillside house didnt have an exhibit. the national gallery had a pop up but didnt attend. oh and the water from shower also ended up on bathroom floor so my friend had to clean that up. it was supposed to be $160 and i got charged ~$179
Very quaint well maintained
Small and intimate property
Very nice staff
Good location
Stay was okay and the workers are very helpful
Like the location
Culture! Great Location.
We loved our stay at the Towne Hotel. It is an older hotel but it is clean and gave us a feel of the culture. Its is next to the Pirate Museum which we loves. The restaurant was good and affordable as compared to the restaurants around the area. Cute pool and courtyard. Great and caring staff. We would stay there again.
Quiet and affordable. nearby parking next door. would definitely book again. continental breakfast is a nice touch.
2 star at best
The location of this hotel is amazing. It’s tired though. Saw a few unwanted critters in the lobby. Tub tap leaked. Luke warm water in shower. Toilet ran continuously after flush. Pool unusable.
It is nice and quiet
Food if available in night would be helpful as some of the tourist comes by evening/night.
Good location, nice food, friendly staff, would recommend.
Breakfast not many choices , great coffee. Only complaint no shampoo for shower
Everything was good.
Garbages overflowing. Saw multiple rats scurrying around pool area and second floor. Well located to the tourist area and food and staff service was good. Good for one night stop over however would probably not vacation here.
The service was excellent, was secure great place
experience and services horrible. breakfast is even worsen. would be nice if not breakfast would be served at all..
The staff is very friendly and the parrot is so adorable.
rats everywhere in the hotel
Price
Property is in main area of city.Walking distance to cruise port and shopping area.
No hygiene , no hot water , no wifi , no blanket , staff least bothered by escaping
Well, the bird is cute.
First I’d Like to say the guy at the desk checking us in is 5 star. That being said, this hotel is very dirty. They have a serious issue with small brown ants (piss ants in the states) they are all over the pool area and in our room. The door knob was broken. We were literally locked in our room. It just kept spinning around. But the desk guy came right away and changed it. The help is great, the hotel is not even good. It needs a deep cleaning everywhere. Especially the tile around the pool and trash cans as well. It’s the cheapest around but you definitely get what you pay for.
Only the internet is not good but the rest i like it
A very nice hotel with friendly and welcoming staff. I felt safe and it was quiet. It was very clean and I enjoyed the food in the restaurant on the hotel. Stores n shops within walking distance I would recommend this hotel and I look forward To staying here again :) Thank You!
Budget Stay
Definitely a “budget stay”. You get what you pay for.
Nice place
I like the peanut bird and the plants and decorations how not like nothing to say.and the location where it is makes everything easy for the guest.
I love that this hotel isn't a cookie-cutter chain hotel - the lobby and the rooms have individual decor and the entire place feels friendly. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and every one of them had a smile and a friendly greeting for me. The location is close to everything downtown but we had dinner in the hotel restaurant a couple of times because the food was really good. I would definitely stay here again!
Accommodated me after a creditcard issue. Allowed me to checkout a few minutes late, watched my bag while I completed my emergency passport. Cool people, island vibes. Bird wouldnt talk to me but im good with that
I love that it was quiet around the hotel, but it was close to everthing. They were super friendly and accomodating and I felt very safe there.
A
Friendly and welcoming staff. We love the homemade food and happy hour!!
The location is the only good thing about this hotel.
Max, was a fun surprise. The building is an old piece of history of Nassau. A bit of up keep can keep it a jewel, such as windows that open, light bulbs that work etc.
If you are looking for an inexpensive stay this is great. Close to bay st and shopping. Hotel is clean and staff are very friendly. Bathrooms are not very big but for a nice clean room it was perfect.
We have stayed at the Towne Hotel for 3 consecutive years. Mainly because of the location and the staff. Definitely has character, however it is very old and neglected. The location is amazing however the place is falling apart. Bar closes early and is always out of something. This time it was ice so no blender or mixed drinks. The pool was filthy. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The AC in the room made loud noises and dripped onto the floor all night. Such a shame the owner does not put money in to fixing this place up. Sadly, we will not be returning.
