Everything was good. Can’t complain.
Overall a good stay at this hotel. We got very good sleep and the showers worked great. The only negative parts would be that the internet did not work well in rooms (we stayed in two different rooms part of our two stays) and as other reviews mention the breakfast is not that good. The rooms we stayed in (Superior) were big and the bed was huge which was great. There are also some included drinks which is a nice touch. As you can see from photos, the rooms have no natural light (unless you open the windows which face directly on the path so no privacy). The hotel location is close to the center, while still being very quiet.
This hotel offers the best rooms for its price range among nearby hotels. Although it’s slightly farther from Plaza de Armas (2-3 blocks), it remains close to major attractions. The rooms are very good and have been recently updated. After staying in multiple hotels in Cusco, we found the overall quality here superior. It’s definitely worth staying here rather than paying extra for hotels closer to the plaza that don’t offer the same quality. The breakfast could use some improvement, but overall, we enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel.
Great Value
Amazing value. Very clean rooms, central location short walk from plaza, friendly/accomodating staff, excellent breakfast.
All the staff were very friendly, courteous and caring. Pamela, Wilson and all the other frint desk staff were amazing and sometimes went out of the way to help us in need. Would highly recommend the place and we'd definitely stay again if ever coming back to Cusco.
Great place to stay
Not the best location
The hotel is very cozy. A little far away from Cusco Centro. If you don't mind to hear dogs barking all night long, then go to this hotel.
Excellent hotel close to the centre of Cusco
Great hotel just 5 minutes walk from the central square. Staff were excellent and the room was too! A great stay.
This is a beautiful small hotel in an old classic house in Cusco, complete with two beautiful and quiet courtyards. Breakfast is excellent -- even good granola, homemade orange juice. Rooms and beds are large, clean & comfortable. Wifi is great. It's not fancy--there is no pool, spa, or gym. Just lovely people running a nice hotel in the center of Cusco.
Great place to stay on both ends of our Inca Trail hiking. The location was a few blocks off the main square so only a short walk to restaurants and sites. Room was clean with comfortable beds. Bathroom recently remolded. Space heater for warmth. Staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Included breakfast, which you could have in room or dining room. Stored our luggage while we hiked the trail. Allowed us late check out on last day at no charge. Quiet, not many guests now.
The staff were lovely, the location is really nice. A short walk from the main square, which means it's a bit quieter. Some good restaurants nearby, and breakfast was lovely as well. I would return!
We enjoyed our stay
Thank you for making my trip unforgettable
I enjoyed my stay completely attention to detail and most friendly staff
Amazing Hotel
The hotel is super nice and the location is perfect because it is a few blocks away from Plaza de Armas yet far from the crowd. The interior design is nice and the staff is very attentive. The breakfast is also a big plus.
The staff were very friendly and the place was very clean. To our surprise, 2 bottled water were provided to us. We had to leave early for an early flight, the staff was so nice that they packed a box breakfast for us!
The staff here are so helpful, great service! The hotel doesn’t locate in the center of all the tourist places, which makes it quiet. But it’s only 10-min walk to those places.
USA, 4 night stay
A wonderful stay. Nice employees. Nice hot water in the sink & shower. Comfortable bed. Breakfast is nice & plenty. Turn left out of the hotel & walk straight into the Plaza De Armes(the main center) & very safe area.
the staff was awesome, they were always available to help you. They provide us with great recommendations for food and tours. they helped us to get safe taxis to train to Machu Picchu and the airport and the right price for them. Feel very safe and i will come back here. Location is perfect, 2 blocks from town square.
The staff is great and helpful. The bathrooms had a sulfur smell. It would air out, but always strong when you first arrived back to the room each day. The breakfast was awesome and the bed turn down service was super cute.
It is a nice comfortable little place not far from all the amenities of Cusco. I had a lot of trouble with the altitude, and I appreciate the extra help the night desk gave me to deal with the sickness.
The staff were very friendly and the fruit and juices at breakfast were delicious.
Intermittent low pressure in the shower but later ok
Great customer service, they held our bags while we went on our 4 day hike on the Inca Trail, and where very prompt with every request. Great location to the main plaza and restaurants.
Maravilloso!!! excelente atención de todo su personal para sus huéspedes .
The rooms were small and cramped. The water had a terrible smell when you turned on the shower. Breakfast was average. The location was excellent, close to city center and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Amazing property , Perfect location , great staff!!!
Cusco
Perfect location, comfortably away from downtown crowds, quiet, comfortable.
Charming property apparently built in the 1600'swith lots of character, exposed beams in the roof and stones in the wall. Comfortable bed and pillows. 3 blocks from the Plaza de Armas, lots of great restaurants close by and walking distance to several museums. Safe neighborhood.
Staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. The location me very good for walking in Cusco.
Great hotel and service, i would definetly recomend to friends.
I loved the design and personnel service. It’s close to the main square.
Very nice hotel
It was tough getting used to high elevation in Cusco. The hotel has free cocoa tea to help us cope. We visit and stay at Machu Picchu one night and the hotel offers to store our suitcases for free till we come back. The staffs are courteous and helpful. The room is comfortable, clean and in very good condition. The location is 10-15 minute walk to center.
Comfortable in our room in a cold night
It was cold at night in Cusco but not in our hotel room. It has a heater. It is comfortable.
Great location, walkable to restaurants and main square. Friendliest and most helpful staff. Clean rooms.
Great location and the most friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and breakfast was delicious!
Great hotel
A very comfortable hotel in Cusco close to the main square.
The hotel has great old world charm with modern amenities. It is immaculately clean. Anything you need is provided. The staff is friendly and very helpful - nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted every time we left the hotel and everytime we came back. Really enjoyed our stay here.
Great find!
Great boutique hotel with everything you need close to town
Great location, friendly staff, and also very clean. Would highly recommend.
This was an amazing trip to Cusco! The weather was a little chilly, but absolutely beautiful! The hotel was just two blocks to the main square and was safe and quiet.
Perfect Stay in Cusco
The hotel was adorable and the staff was extremely friendly and flexible. I would recommend any of my friends to select a Tierra Viva hotel!
5 star sta.
Amazing place and pterodactyl work there. Very helpful and accommodating. Clean. 5 star experience. Highly recommend.
5 star experience, amazing employees
Amazing stay. The employees went above and beyond to accommodate us. I would give it a 5+. Very clean rooms. I felt like I was staying at 5 star hotel.
Location was quite close to the main square. Breakfast was continental with a good variety of food.
Service from staff was excellent. Always willing to help. The room was clean and well equipped. The only thing perhaps was that the room was small, nevertheless comfortable.
Loved it
It was great! Perfect location, friendly, helpful staff, especially Angela!
All good
All of the staff were super helpful, especially Angela at front desk. Only needs improed heaters for the room: Breakfast was good. Very easy to store luggage while gone to Machu Picchu.
great service. allowed us to store our bags before and after our stay. Has coffee and tea always at the ready and location was very close to the city center. My only criticism is that the wifi signal in our room was a bit weak but other than that, the stay was perfect.
Wonderful Experience
The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and clean, and the staff was so helpful! Less than a 10 minute walk to Plaza de Armas and in a very safe area. Another great feature- you can drop off any laundry at the front desk by 10 AM and they will get it back to you by 8 PM (you pay $6 USD per kilo). This was so helpful as we had just returned from 4 days hiking the Inca Trail.
Very nice small hotel
It took a bit of time for the warm water to get to our room after turning it on. Once we figured it out, all was well. The breakfast that was included was very good.
RAQUEL AT THE FRONT DESK WAS SO HELPFUL. SHE WAS ALWAYS PLEASANT .
The staff at this hotel are exceptional. Extremely helpful and they provide great personal assistance. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The breakfast is the best we have had in our month long visit to Peru. I like this hotel very much.
Staff was truly wonderful. coming back again in 2019. Thank You.
They are unreachable by phone when you’re out of the country and generally have been unprofessional in dealing with my reservation.
Great hotel
Great place Good service Very comfortable 5 minutes walk to the plaza Very safe area
Very good staff, great breakfast including hot foods
Staff are wonderful and helpful, even were able to accommodate a boxed breakfast for us when we had to leave super early
I wished I could stay longer
Staff are amazing, very attentive service, rooms are cosy, value for money.
Lovely place, great location and very friendly staff
Great Cusco Hotel
A great location, 3 blocks from the plaza del Armas. The staff is very friendly and helpful in answering to questions. Highly recommended.
Stayed here twice during our time in Cusco! Would definatly recommend quiet but easily walkable. Very helpful staff. Allowed us to store our luggage during our Inca trail treck. Breakfast had many options and was all delicious. Was upgraded to a suite first night which was loverly spacious and very nice. Standard room was equally loverly massive comfy beds and very clean modern bathrooms. Would definatly recommend and stay again.
Great staff but far from plaza
The hotel was nice overall. It’s pretty far from the main plaza with not much happening on the street. I would recommend a closer hotel as the walk was a bit much sometimes. The room was decent with a few minor issues such as hair and tepid water. The WiFi was severely lacking. The staff was wonderful and overall the stay was pleasant.
I really appreciated the staff and their helpfulness. The bed was cozy and the room was great! Breakfast options were terrific, too. My ONLY negative would be the barking dogs, but I know that wasn’t the hotel’s fault.
Very cute hotel! Less than 10 minutes walking from the main plaza. Staff
Easy safe walk to town square. Wonderful staff, so helpful. Charming surroundings. One of the best places we stayed in Peru.
Bit cold but everything else was amazing!
Place was amazing. The place is little walk from all the busy tourist places which means little more walk but quiet. Me and my friend liked everything except our room was very cold. There's only one little heater in the room for warming and that wasn't enough.
The staff at Tierra Viva Cusco Saphi are incredible, helpful, accommodating, and made our entire experience. The hotel's bed was enormous and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Cuscolito
This place is about an 8 minutes walk to the Plaza del Armas, I had a comfortable stay. I preferred this because you didn't have to walk up any steps.
Excellent !
Staff knows how to treat a visitor. The facilities are kept in top condition.
Conveniently located, good breakfast, friendly staff
My Wonderful Stay at Tierra Viva Cusco Saphi
Tierra Viva was a very nice place to stay and it is just up the street from Plaza de Armas. There are plenty of nearby restaurants, stores, pharmacies, etc. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I want to thank Jose, Eduardo, Erick and Raquel for all of their assistance and their friendly service. I would definitely stay there again if I were to come back for another visit.
I would stay here again
This was my favorite hotel during my trip to Peru. I think my room was the best one there #201. It had a great window seat and I loved sitting in the window and enjoying the breeze. My friend had a different room and said he felt the walls were paper thin. I didn't have that experience so it may differ depending on what room you stay in. The location was great. The wifi was strong. The staff were friendly and helpful and the place was very clean and comfortable. I would love to stay here again.
The staff here we're super helpful and very welcoming. The location was good as it was very close to the Plaza de Armas, but not too close so it was very quiet. I would highly recommend this location.
Not bad
Nice hotel but not to close to the Plaza.
Staff was very accommodating and friendly! They had great suggestions about places to eat and things to see. They even scheduled a taxi to pick me up and take me to the airport in the morning for free! Awesome location, and even better services!
I imagine the problem, if any, with Cusco hotels are the loud travelers being picked up at 5A by their tour companies. Courtyards and wooden stairs especially echos those sounds.
Lovely, small hotel close to the main square
Lovely, small hotel. It's a cool combination of an old, traditional building with modern decor. It's on a quiet street, but only two blocks from the bustling Plaza des Armas, filled with shops and restaurants. The staff were very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was quite good. Our only problem is that the street and sidewalk were under construction--not their fault, but it made getting in and out a bit tricky.
Such a great property!
Close to the main square. Cute courtyard and lovely rooms. Staff was super helpful! Highly recommend
Very helpful frony desk and the breakfast was really good, walking distance of about 3 blocks to the square.
Great location, excellent staff!
Tierra Viva is a great traveler's hotel chain. Tierra Viva Saphi is located far enough away from Plaza Armas to be quiet and restful, yet close enough for an easy walk to the Plaza, shops, and restaurants. The staff, as we have noticed at other Tierra Viva hotels that we have stayed in, is exceptional.
The pearl of Cusco
The best room we have stayed in for our entire trip. Spacious, comfortable, complimentary drinks, clean, and well appointed. Great location! And fabulous restaurants nearby.
January 27 2018
The hotel is great, staff very helpful and friendly, very good breakfast. The only thing it was for me, the hotel is located between construction buildings and the walk at night was a little bit strange as well it was so much dust on the street from the ongoing work on the building.
Nice hotel, clean and comfortable.
It is a nice hotel. The room is not big but has everything we need. They offer Airport pickup. I like this idea.
Great mid-range hotel with attentive staff
We loved our experience at Tierra Viva both in Machu Picchu and Cusco. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
great location, friend staff
everything was great, location is very close to center. room is clean , good size, very clean. staff is very friendly. breakfast is amazing. definitely stay again.
Nice hotel with great people and great breakfast
We had a very nice stay at Tierra Viva on Calle Saphi. It is a little walk from the plaza but not too far. I highly recommend this hotel and I would imagine any of their three other hotels in Cusco are similar in service and comfort.
Beautiful courtyard house feels like home.
Staff is friendly, breakfast is great, and the central courtyard had my vote of confidence in the place from square 1.
Bad location
Bad location... very dirty streets leading up to hotel. Staff can be more friendly and accomodating. Argued about the free transportation that i was promised. The rooms are clean. Brkfast was below avg
Outstanding Stay in Cuzco
My ratings show I thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. However, I do have one negative comment not directly covered by the rating scheme. The internet was quite sporadic. Sometimes it worked well. Other times (especially at nights), it didn't work at all no matter which user I was on. The staff was attentive to getting it fixed, but were never very successful.
We had a great one night one stay. Great breakfast, comfy beds, modern bathrooms and overall good value.
No good location.. inconsistent service
Too far from plaza armas... walk through some serious dirty streets to reach hotel. Service ok except for the night shift girl who doesnt have a clue.. wont be coming back
Good place before and after trek.
This is nice hotel which is well located, It is an easy walk to main square, which is close enough to walk, but avoids the noise and congestion. The staff is friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good. The internet did not always work and that was little bit of a problem, but is not unexpected. We stayed both before and after our trek to Choquequirao.
nice hotel with even nicer staff
Nice hotel located within walking distance of the main square. But it's pretty quiet at night so you'd be able to sleep. A lot of food options around hotel and numerous shops as well closeby. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small but cozy and also the heater for the room takes a while to work. They have limited hot breakfast options. But overall, I enjoyed my stay in this hotel and I'll definitely use them again if I come back to Cusco.
Amazing place.
This place is wonderful!! Perfect accommodations for my stay in Cusco. I wish I could have stayed longer!!
August 2017
The front desk staff are the best!! They went over and above to be helpful and to make sure we had everything we needed. Very friendly!
Nice hotel Staff but not so good location
My lower rating is due to its location. It is not far away from Plaza (4 blocks) but it is isolated and dark end of street. Otherwise nice hotel as any other Tierra Viva hotel. Wonderful staff, nice breakfast. But I enjoyed staying in Tierra Viva San Blas more (closer restaurants and shop and similar distance to Plaza)
Reception staff are real stars
A great place to stay. Very friendly and helpful reception staff - lovely people. Very attractive place. Surrounding area looks a bit rough but it is safe and it is quite close to the main square.
Beautiful room, close to the Basilica Square.
The hotel was close to the Basilica Square and surrounding restaurants and shops. The staff was extremely helpful in ensuring that we were able to get to the airport during the Cuzco General Strike event, arranging a conscientious cab driver to get us to the front gate of the airport.

You could easily walk from there to restaurants and square for shopping.
