Great hotel
Property is very modern and in a perfect location. There was a little bit of construction near by so it made it hard to get dropped off at the property but that’s out of their control and not their fault. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff was extremely friendly and personal
Great
Excellent property in Centro/Sol. Hotel sits on Plaza Del Carmen which is currently being upgraded and should be lovely when complete. Location is Chueca adjacent with easy access to Malasaña, Retiro, Gran Via, and most attractions. David, Santi, and Manuel showed me nothing but comfort and grace. Thank you so much!
The client service was kind & friendly & accommodating -- really top-notch! They have yummy free breakfast for you upon arrival & got us into our room by 11am ... Centrally located, cool building & interior design, super comfy bedding & perfect bathroom!
5 Star Experience
My family of 18 stayed at The Thompson Hotel during the week after Christmas, and everything about our stay was perfect. The hotel is absolutely beautify, with modern, comfortable rooms which are nicely appointed. The staff is exceptional, providing all the services you would expect from a 5 star hotel always with a smile. Alvaro at the front desk specifically stood out at check-in, but he was one of many that made our stay perfect. And to top it off, the hotel’s location could not be more central to many of the most visited sites in Madrid— Puerta del Sol and Gran Via are literally steps away. The hotel is pricey but well worth the splurge. We will be back.
The hotel is very beautiful and modern. The room was spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. The hotel is in a great location for walking around as many stores, restaurants and the Mercado de San Miguel are within walking distance. The staff and the concierge were helpful and knowledgeable. My family only tried the enclosed area of the rooftop once since it was cold at night, but we didn’t enjoy it as people were allowed to smoke there.
NYE Madrid
Lovely trip and lovely hotel. Well positioned.
A great and super hotel at the center of Madrid. I would stay again.
Beyond expectations
The hotel is not kid-friendly. Guests are expected to clean up after themselves, as the housekeeping staff charges extra for removing trash or cleaning anything beyond just making the bed.
Friendly, helpful, and located right in the middle of the action.
Service oriented staff
The room was nice and the comfortable. The only issue we had was the powered blinds wouldn’t go down. We called the front desk and someone was there within minutes to fix it. We were there only for a few hours as we had a flight to catch. They got a taxi for us and came outside to help translate English to Spanish.
The hotel was perfectly positioned for activities in the surrounding areas.
Amazing staff and facilities. Stayed when there was construction going on across the street so access by car was limited. I would definitely stay here again if I am visiting Madrid.
Great service!
Great experience
OK
Excellent hotel! The only problem is that the construction of the “plaza” limits the access and complicates the transportation.
Super!
Amazing staff, location and all!
We LOVED this hotel!!
Exceeded expectations
Amazing stay, the rooms are wonderful, we slept so well. The hotel staff are all jolly and welcoming, from check in to the bar and restaurant upstairs.
Nice but carpet in room under bed was filthy
Construction in front of the property.
Good location close to the Plaza del Sol.
We had a wonderful terrace that was worth every penny! The room was clean with great amenities. The staff was nice, friendly and very helpful. The only thing I would change, is the ability to ask for ice without being charged a room fee.
Staff was excellent! Room was beautiful and comfortable.
The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly! Beautiful rooms and amazing restaurant! I will highly recommend this hotel!
Great property with a great staff. Excellent attention to details. But plaza del Carmen was a construction zone and in rough shape. Location is central and near all the touristy sites. Pool area and gym are on the small side but otherwise everything was great.
Right in the heart of where you need to see Madrid
This place was amazing, from the staff to the roof pool and bar i dont have a bad word to say about this hotel.
Best hotel we’ve ever stayed at
Great hotel, staff was very attentive, great location!
Good location
The rooftop pool deck is amazing! The rooms are clean and modern. The staff was friendly but not enough English speakers. The location is very walkable but they should have informed people of the massive construction on the plaza where the hotel is located. It was loud, dusty and not attractive. Finally, at departure we asked reception to get us a taxi to the train station, showed them out ticket and they spoke to taxi driver (because none of them speak English) and we were taken to the wrong station (they took us to one 30 min from city when our train departed from the one in city center) and we missed our train. When we tried to call hotel for assistance, no one answers phone at front desk. This left us with bad feelings about our stay.
We’ve just got back home from this trip and we were delighted after staying in this property. Highlights: Easy check in, spacious room with terrace. Location is awesome. In between the two main areas of interest and Right next to plaza del Sol. Downs: our first option for the room was to has city views therefore we’ve decided for the room with a balcony but after realizing how small the balcony is we switched to go with the king bedroom with terrace. On this platform and on the official website all the (scarce) pictures mislead you into believing the terraces have city view. Only after checking in we’ve found out there are balconies with no view at all but a tall wall even though I couldn’t find a statement in the descriptions about the possibility of having terrace with no view. It felt shady. Staff training also would be appreciated as the bar man at pool bar seemed to not have much clue of what he was doing and the door man simply answered “impossible” with not much of initiative after asking for a taxi on a rainy day at check out. Eventually another guys got us a taxi. Hotel is compact yet (not super) luxurious and has a nice rooftop.
Lovely modern hotel in a good location
Nice hotel,good location,rooms are a bit small
Very nice hotel, large room well done, great staff and great location, best value for your money
Thompson Hotel was a great location. Everything was delightful.
The location was perfect for walking around the city. Front desk staff were helpful. The room was great and the design of the hotel was wonderful, as expected. On the downside, the rooftop looks wonderful but was under construction and inaccessible. We weren’t advised when booking. Cleaning staff were somewhat rude. There were also a lot of weird noises at night (doors slamming, thuds, and running water). If I could, I’d give it a 3.5.
Staff are not helpful.
Nice
One of the best to stay in Madrid, they gave my parents a 10/10 experience will come back for sure.
It was a great location with friendly and helpful staff. Place was very well kept and would highly reccommend. There is a construction site at the time of our stay in front of the building but definitely would not let that affect choosing this hotel
Beautiful boutique hotel, great rooms/suites, well kept and maintained. Centrally located. The in-house bar, restaurants, and breakfast were great. The accommodated a late checkout at no additional cost. The concierge was very helpful finding reservations for dinner and parties New Year’s Eve which was a tall order. They also had a small cocktail party and NYE event at the hotel which were lovely and also complementary. Highly recommended.
Beautiful Hotel. Highly recommended
Construction across the street could not get 1 minute of sleep. Hotel should have stated this before booking.
Incredible location, walking distance from Madrid’s city Centre. Hard to access by car/taxi.
The room was comfortable and clean but for the price I would stay elsewhere. Hard to reach by cab, surround by construction zone, massive crowds on Gran via. Not a great choice
All of the staff are super helpful, they will tell you about places to go eat how to get a taxi there they will call taxis for you, and they always always always open the door for you. The rooms are spacious. The rooms are clean and the breakfast in the Omar restaurant is delicious.
Excellent stay. Best location, quiet but right in the midst of Madrid centro. Friendliest staff and room was very spacious. Love having the room re-set after siestas. Would stay here again.
The property is in the perfect location, makes you feel like you live in madrid , the staff was amazing, helpful, attentive and genuine, shout out to Claudia our bartender and Ventura at the front desk ,cant wait to go back . .
Loved everything
Very nice but fell short of perfect
Front desk staff was great. Lobby bar staff also great. Hijos de Tomas (basement cocktail bar) did not know how to make any of their signature cocktails, which was odd. Breakfast at Otto was good. Rooftop bar and pool deck was closed without any reason given, which was pretty frustrating given how significantly it is used in the promo images and marketing for the hotel. Housekeeping staff could use some retraining - a housekeeper tried to bar entry from our room (we unlocked with a key) when she was cleaning the room when we needed to enter to drop off some items and collect items from the safe. She was relatively rude about it as well, which was frustrating given the cost and positioning of this hotel brand. The property itself is excellent, the location is excellent, the bed is comfortable, and the room is stylish. I'm not sure if I would choose it over the Edition again though.
Amazing hotel, 5 star experience. Clean rooms, nice bathrooms, comfortable pillows
great hotel but rushed service
For a five stars hotel, we felt like service was rushed at the reception and in particular the breakfast restaurant.
I had an amazing stay at the Thompson! The room was spacious, clean, and felt very luxurious. The included breakfast was incredible. The hotel staff were super friendly, kind, and welcoming. Camilla in reception was an especially warm and helpful person during my stay. The service overall was attentive and thoughtful. The location was incredibly walkable and convenient. The Thompson was an incredible way to kick off my trip in Madrid. Very highly recommend and would stay again!
Great Hotel
Fantastic Central location for all the sites in Madrid. Amazing Breakfast and service. Would Highly recommend. Pool was never to busy and there was always space in the evening/late afternoon after a busy day of walking.
Thompson Madrid is an excellent hotel. Located in the heart of Madrid, this 5 star hotel offers the visitor practically everything. From high end rooms, excellent facilities, a pool and excellent breakfast. The location is superb. Between Gran via and puerta de sol, everything is in reachable distance. Shops, restaurants, attractions - it’s all there. We were there for 6 nights as a couple and our 7 months old daughter and it was an amazing and positive experience. A word about the stuff - very caring, smiling and professional stuff. From the reception to the breakfast team, and not to forget the great guest service desk whose employees are always there with every matter you might have. Special thanks to Andrea who fixed us with the best dining options! We really felt like a family for the time spent there. We will definitely go back to this hotel. Hopefully soon :)
Nice ambience for the hotel, roof top swimming pool was great.
Top hotel in centre of Madrid
Great new designer hotel in the centre of town. The area next to the hotel is still under renovation but doesn't impact the hotel experience. Great breakfast and the swimming pool / roof top bar is a plus, especially for an evening drink (too hot to use during the day).
Nice new and modern property
Great breakfast, and location is quiet, but right in the center of Madrid.
Amazing hotel and staff. Everyone was kind, helpful and focused on ensuring a great experience. We loved the room with the terrace and all the amenities. Beautiful hotel, very clean. Daily room service was prompt and well done. Would definitely stay here again when we come to Madrid.
Great place to stay. A true 5 star hotel.
Amazing service - all smile - ready to help - brand new hotel - very nice up to date design Must try the Chocolate Tart at hotel restaurant- Amazzzzing
Great location, service and property. Loved it! The only challenge was to get to/from the hotel via car.
Outstanding service
The service was outstanding. Very helpful in so many ways. They upgraded us to the top floor where we had a lovely view of the town square. The food was very delicious. Be sure to order the full breakfast. And dinner was amazing. Location close to everything we wanted to do. We got up late on our last day. They where quick to help us get going. They even put our luggage on a cart and rushed us to a taxi so we could make our train on time. Next time we are in Madrid this will be our home.
Lovely hotel in a great location. Staff extremely friendly. Great restaurant recommendations from hotel concierge. Lovely breakfast included in price. We had a lovely room with a terrace.
Nice hote,l but too many issues with the room. I was very unlucky with the room . First shower at arrival bathroom flooded. Air condition didn't work 26C all night. .Couldn't be repaired so I had to change rooms, but didn't get the room with the view what I paid for. The day before departure no room service I had to call for service. At Checkout my bill had to be adjusted for food and drinks , but my credit card still shows a far higher amount pending. Sadly too many problems for a pleasant stay.
Best hotel breakfast — instead of buffet, it was a lovely individually prepared meal. Wonderful house baked pastries too. And helpful welcoming staff. Modern comfortable rooms.
Fantastic
This is a new hotel and one of the best I have been to Central clean and above all wonderful staff I wouldn't hesitate to come back again
Great stuff Neli and Paco and all stuff are great

gorgeous first floor, amazingly nice staff. The art work is unique and the center courtyard if so cool- view from rooms and elevator. Loved the bathroom facilities as well.
