Couldn’t sleep!

Extremely loud area, we could hear club music in our room until 2am and then from 2-3am people screaming drunk in the hallway. The hotel staff didn’t care and told us that their website says it’s in the heart of hollywood so it’s our fault for picking it. We booked through Hotels.com and didn’t notice anything about it being a party or nightlife hotel. Regardless, we didn’t expect club music to travel inside the hotel rooms? Otherwise the room and lobby are aesthetically nice and clean, but it’s impossible to sleep given the way sound travels into the rooms.

It was a great stay up until I did not receive a final bill after I confirmed my email multiple times only to be overcharged for my stay. Scam all the way through. BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL.

Nice hotel

The evenings and nights are very noisy from your room. Bars or bar music and crowd noise are very noticeable inside of the rooms. In my case no hot or warm water to shower. It was noted that the hot water issue at the front desk the first night but it was not fixed. For the price i paid I do not recommand it.

I stayed here for Thanksgiving. The hotel & staff are top notch. The views from my room were amazing. The heated roof top pool & bar were the best. The beds are very comfortable & house keeping comes daily unlike most hotels. The nightly social hour was A . I’d definitely stay here again.

Multiple things not working in the room. Light bulbs were out. Bluetooth speaker didn’t work. Hot water didn’t work. Outlets weren’t working.

Hollywood Hotel

There was no ATM in the lobby and this is not good because Hollywood doesn’t have ATMs on the streets.

Didn’t feel welcomed, no one told us about the social hour in lobby we heard it from other guests. I was given misleading information about the valet parking cost initially 55 and then 60, with tax!

We loved the hotel, the room was great and all staff were friendly and helpful. My only complain is that for two days in a row we had to ask for the 2nd towel set, there was only one in the room and we were booked for two people. But I requested another set and they were quick to bring it to us.

The front desk staff were not friendly. However, the the staff working the rooms and the security staff were friendly and professional. The restroom door for a double queen bed was an old sliding door that did not closes properly. The air vent inside the restroom/shower was too weak. The room itself was clean. However, the sheets that were replaced after housekeeping had cleaned the room were stained. The mini bar fridge door did not close properly. They told me they plan to replace them all in the future. The complementary coffee and tea during morning time and the social hour at the evening is a nice touch. Overall, for the price of the stay at about $300 a night, It's not a great value in my opinion.

The property was great except for the loud music playing until 2am. Bring your noise canceling head phones if you want to sleep.

I didn't like a feeling of being watched. Details in room were nice. I might come back to enjoy of the bar in the roof.

Great Hotel!

Loved this hotel; super nice and we got an upgrade. Love the restaurant and night club. Only thing is upon receipt of 2 comp drink tickets the bartender (female) made a point that I could only have the house wine. Really??? It wouldn't kill the Hyatt to give a better wine just because I had a comp drink ticket (given because I am a Platinum member.

Never saw cleaner room in my life , seriously the bathroom was spotless. Who ever did this , she deserves the raise! However, service from all of the staff was outstanding! I would come back there . Food is also top notch! Thank you guys!

No acknowledgement of Expedia status. Late check in room was not ready. Offered “free drinks for compensation” the rooftop bar wouldn’t honor it. No upgrade no vip benefits. Wifi barely working. Really disappointing stay. Usually a great hotel

Beautiful hotel. Perfect location Great staff. Long wait for drinks at pool, go to the bar yourself. In the evenings I’d hear the music from the rooftop bar. I was on 9th floor might be less noisy on lower floors

Check In at 4 pm is not gauranteed!!!

Room was not ready at the 4 pm check in time. At 4:30 they finally admitted the type of room we wanted was not ready due to a late check out. We had to cancel dinner plans as we they finally put us in a lesser priced room. This happened to about 6 other guests. Hotel is very nice - but they it was a complete disaster try to even get in our room

Room was luxurious Staff was nice but being a Hyatt member, i would've paid more per night so i didnt use the membership.When i asked if i could price match, the staff said no because my search on expedia included my minor child and Hyatt includes my child as an adult. So it was cheaper to book through the 3rd party website and I lost all those membership points.

Excellent property. Only complaint is the valet offered to charge my car overnight, but didnt. Shower pressure was strong. Room was clean and staff was welcoming.

Satisfied but not impressed.

It was a disappointment that there was no fridge or microwave. It was hard to find a trash can outside of the room. They insisted on pushing their own luggage carts so our things waited in the lobby a bit. And we had to call someone to bring it back down. It's pet friendly...but there's no place for them to do their business. The valet was very convenient. The location made getting to universal very easy.

We showed up and their software system were down, impossible to check in. Waited for 30mn and left because they were not able to give a timeframe... the manager Mary-Ann first lied saying they were able to do the check in.... Just talked to the supervisor and she admitted the check in was impossible... but still refuse to refund us! Management is extremely bad!

Great location!

It a nice hotel for a short stay if you’re okay with noises and basic amenities. It’s a good choice if you’re only there for business. It’s simple and easy location.

Absolutely perfect hotel! Beautifully esthetically but also 5 star customer service wigh every inch being designed in a useful way. Couldn't have been more pleased.

This place is great except for the area (which does seem to be improving at least) and the noise at night. I’m not sure where it was coming from but there was this loud bass-heavy music, I guess from some club, that made it seriously difficult to fall asleep at a reasonable hour and then stay asleep. Which is a shame because the room was lovely and the bed was quite comfortable. The rooftop bar and pool area was an excellent spot to hang out in the afternoon (the steak was very good). Overall the hotel was fine, but for the price, I expected more than just fine. Perhaps as the area improves I’ll try another stay someday, but the club noise is really a dealbreaker for me. I guess if it’s not coming from somewhere in the hotel though, there’s not much they can do about it.

The TV on the wall needs to be put in a better place you can’t really see it from the bed. We had a poll on one side of the bed that blocked half of the tv when your trying to watch tv laying down. Mini fridge didn’t get that cold. But EVERYTHING ELSE WAS EXCELLENT..

Nice and clean hotel

Really nice hotel, clean, comfortable, great location for Hollywood area access. Maybe on the expensive side come to restaurant. We'll be back though :-)

The hotel is pleasant enough but very expensive for what it offers. It is less a hotel and more somewhere to be seen with private events being regularly held which means that the limited dining is continually closed to customers. During our stay there was no dining available in the evening except for bar snacks. The property is in downtown LA which means walking to and from the property is not particularly pleasant. It was very disappointing and extremely expensive- including an added daily venue fee which was not previously mentioned.

Great Hollywood Location, best in area

Excellent location, roof top pool was fantastic. Happy hour in the lounge was very nice. Comfortable beds. The bathroom has very little counter space. If you are a single traveller, it’s ok, but with three people, it’s tight. Also there was no desk & chair (room is too small to fit this, but if I was doing any work, it would be impossible).

Everything about The Thomson was a wonderful surprise. The decor...the staff ...the rooms ...the pool and rooftop amenities all fabulous. I woyld definitely return to this beautiful hotel!

This is a great hotel with an amazing pool and restaurant on the roof. A great lobby and most of the staff are super friendly and engaging. However be sure to double check (if you want to sleep before 2 am) that your room does not share a wall with the night club. It is extremely loud. I asked for a quiet room and the (i cannot be bothered) front desk person put me in one if the loudest rooms. Most of the front desk and entire staff were super helpful and nice. But one of them should not be client facing. I will be back and be sure not to take a 824 again.

The rooftop club is rather loud, even on the 7th floor.

Stayed one night for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. The room was clean and bed was comfy, but room was small and not much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Nothing wrong with the room or hotel, but didn’t think it was worth the price.

Very clean and beautiful hotel. The pool and terrasse are superbes. Staff is helpful and kind. Loved our stay and would go back without hesitation.

lovely little hotel

room was small but sooo nice and cozy. had a fully stocked snack and mini bar that we took advantage of and amazing-smelling soap/shampoo. roof had a loud nightclub that went on till the wee hours but it wasn’t that bad. great breakfast and drinks and pool. only thing is i was not given an itemized invoice, despite asking for one in email and over the phone. other than that the staff were great and accommodating.

Great property

The Hotel was in a great location for getting around. The room was small with limited storage but we were able to make the best of it. The room and hotel were clean and the room top restaurant had amazing views. The food was tasty but expensive.

Excellent view of the Hollywood sign for the roof top, while enjoying the best breakfast. Pool was perfect and refreshing after a long hot day.

Fantastic stay overall. Amazing property and amenities. The only one aspect we thought fell short was the noise levels from the rooftop (night club) into the late hours of the night. May be the walls are thin, but we were on floor 11 and it was pretty loud until very late. So make sure to request a lower floor if you prefer absolute quiet. The hotel did offer to relocate us, but our stay was brief so we did not choose that option.

This hotel was excellent. The rooftop pool and bar are amazing!

Beds were very hard. We also did not know the hotel has a club and we were on the 10th floor and heard nothing but music blaring. No one got any sleep. Also upon coming back to the hotel there was a line to get into the hotel which made it hard to get in and when we walked up a young girl was puking. Valet was also very expensive! $60!!

Great modern hotel in the heart of Hollywood with comfortable rooms. The dining hours are odd, from sunrise to sunset. Decor on the roof terrace doesn’t match the cool vibe with fake ivy hanging from trellises accompanied by cheap fountain - sort of a chill buzz kill in a high design city.

A good hotel that could be great if it fixed a few basics internally. Sadly the surrounding area is scary for families with lots of homeless people with an overpowering smell of cannabis and urine . Tinsel town is no more #cleanuptheatreets

Great hotel with lovely rooftop pool and terrace. Great service at the front desk and restaurant.

The hotel is well maintained and the rooftop pool area was beautiful. I wish the area around the hotel was better. It was dirty and there were several homeless tents in the area.
