Will definitely stay there again. Great location to 6th Street. Staff very helpful.
new modern and great staff
Nice large room with comfortable beds. Beautiful pool on 4th floor with great loungers and pool service. Only complaint is that there isn’t enough light in the room, especially at nice. Fun vibe!
Great stay, nice bar and restaurant.
From valet to room service, this hotel delivered. Food was good. It was clean and staff was excellent. They went above and beyond.
It’s amazing just stay there it’s close to a lot of places
Hotel and pool is really nice! Clean rooms and quiet considering it’s in downtown. Area has a lot of homeless people around so not the best feeling when walking around.
We requested checkout by 1200 due a personal delay and they only gave us 30 minutes, checkout was 1100 cst
It’s a beautiful hotel and very friendly
The hotel has a cool vibe and the rooftop pool is amazing, but there were a couple big misses for me. The air unit in the room would not go below 68 degrees and the bed did not have a top sheet under the duvet. The duvet was too warm for the room at that temp so sleeping was not comfortable at all. The Thompson has been on my ATX to do list and fell short of my expectations for a 4 star hotel. The pool experience was great though so I would for sure do a day pass to enjoy it again.
Loved our quick getaway to this property! The room was amazing unique and relaxing. The bars/restaurants were lively, food was terrific and service was exemplary everywhere we went. We had a blast and would love to return soon!
Located right in the heart of downtown Austin. Round the corner of 6th Street. The room was extremely clean with a modern vibe. The bathroom had a relaxing atmosphere with the aromas and body/hair products. Vally parking was a must during our stay. Pro tip: Hit the Cantina on the fourth floor. The drinks, atmosphere, and music pull you to enjoy your stay.
Everything was great!
Stayed here one night with our son and it’s literally one block away from crazy 6th street. We came back to our room later at night and we drove around for almost 30 mins trying to find a way to get to the hotel because the streets are blocked. Once we arrived there were drunk people and homeless everywhere. Our room towels had hair on them and I don’t believe they vacuum the carpet because there was hair and dirt all over our socks. Valet is $62 a night. Also our room had a fire alarm flashing light that would blink all night. Other than that, staff was friendly at check in.
Very quiet, comfortable hotel. High-end design and decor. We only ate food at the pool but it was excellent; the coffee shop is a great space and ideal for working.
good
The Thompson Hotel in Austin, Texas, offers a luxurious and stylish experience that embodies the vibrant energy of the city. The hotel’s chic design, blending modern elegance with local flair, creates an inviting atmosphere from the moment you step inside. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive, going out of their way to ensure guests feel welcome and well taken care of. One of the standout features is the fantastic housekeeping service, which keeps the rooms impeccably clean thoughtfully arranged. Please take time to visit the rooftop bar, a favourite spot during our time at the hotel.
I like how clean the room was. It was walkable to lots of things that Austin has to offer. I would definitely stay here again.
Good 👍
Great , I enjoyed my stay
Great downtown getaway
Excellent stay! Hotel is clean and modern. We had a perfect time at the pool and is well located to popular areas
Contemporary property with excellent staff. I highly recommend.
Las habitaciones bien en general, el personal bien. Room Service muy regular y el restaurante y bar pésimos en los alimentos y bebidas.
Awsome spot!
Attentive staff, great stay clean and enjoyable.
First trip to Austin
Great hotel in a perfect location
Great!
Excellent place
The Thompson Hotel is a nice property. I did not get to enjoy the pool, but if I ever stay here again I hope I do. The food at the restaurant although over priced is very good. There are two cons I will address: 1. The toilets in the Thompson hotel, at least in my room, are black. This is an issue because it never seems like the toilet is clean which is off putting. 2. Valet is $50 per day, which is outrageous. Best to park around the corner pay the $25 and just Uber if you need to leave. Despite these things, nice hotel
Overall a good stay. The gym is great!! Location is fun. We had an issue with housekeeping not making up our room one day. We called to request a room refresh when we knew we’d be out for a few hours and no one ever showed. When we called to the front desk a few hours later to ask for more towels, as we needed to shower before leaving for the evening, and asked if housekeeping would be coming that day, the staff was condescending and belittling asking if we really needed someone to “come make the bed”. For the price daily housekeeping should be included and not an “inconvenience” for their staff.
Excellent, new and clean hotel. Staff went above and beyond.
Very nice hotel, and very clean and great service. The area is not the best, a lot of homeless people and traffic is not the best. Kind of hard to park in at night besides that is a great location.
Wasn’t Great
The Wi-Fi was didnt connect making it difficult to work properly. The room service never picked up the the phone and I had to order Uber easts.
To close to 6th street
Stylish modern hotel with very friendly staff in a great area of town surrounded by great places to eat and drink.
Staff was super awesome. So friendly and helpful!
I had a first class stay at a location that couldn’t have been more convenient to my destination, the Comedy Mothership.
Poorly designed room. In the shower, the water controls and the soaps/shampoo are on the far side of the shower. So you have to step out of the flow of water to get at them. There is no door on the toilet area (meaning less privacy). And the large barn door going into the bathroom slowly slides open if you don’t lock it (which then locks out your partner if you’re in the shower, etc). And eventually derailed itself and could not be moved. All of the room lights (two on the bed, two nest to the bed) each have to be turned on and off separately. There are no central wall switches. The carpet was a little ragged on one side. And the walls in the elevator a little chipped. It’s very noisy in public areas of hotel. Too large and too loud for me. And the neighborhood is downtown in “party central”. I would not go back.
Hotel room was very nice spaceable and clean. The outdoor pool and dining was phenomenal and very close to everything that I had planned for the weekend.
We enjoyed our visit to the Thompson. The smell in the room was fantastic. Whatever that is, keep using it!
Wonderful stay at the Thompson!! Love it!
Excelent customer service, good and clean facilities.
Beautiful property, excellent location close to a lot of bars and restaurants
Everything was nice and clean. It was so close to 6th and all the restaurants. We had a blast!
Madonna weekend
This hotel was so much like DELANO which I adore in Vegas. Everyone especially TEXAN made us feel so special and so welcomed. Sparkling wine at check in is a nice touch. I will be back!!!
The amenities are great! The bed and pillows were so comfy.
Great “boutique” hotel. I’ve stayed at a few super nice hotels in Austin like the JW Marriott and ALine. The Thompson is my fave.
Great location and friendly service.
How close everything was
Great hotel with great staff members took care of every need also made my wife’s birthday special by leaving her a nice token of appreciation in our room. Next time we travel to Austin, we will stay at the Thompson again.
Restaurant on 4th floor is Wonderful
Was a great stay for us. Decided to head up to Austin last minute and didn’t regret anything!
Great stay at Thompson! The staff was amazing and lovely to work with!
Great boutique hotel.
Hotel looks nice, rooms look nice, staff is nice… room walls are very thin…I heard conversations of people in room next to me as if they were right next to me, this was on the Thomas side.
Excellent property, will be staying again!
Loved this property and have already recommended it to everyone I know!!
Best hotel I’ve ever stayed so far
A beautiful property in a great location. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. The on-site coffee shop and “diner” were cashfree (something to know if you prefer to use cash). The room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The proximity to 6th street wasn’t a bother: fun if you enjoy the nightlife, and did not keep us awake on early nights. I’d certainly stay there again.
Enjoyed our stay at the Thompson.
Loved the hotel and my suite. Very comfortable, upscale and a great location.
We had a great time there! Most likely will be back again
Beautiful hotel , but no coffee :( roof top closes at 6pm :( no coffee bar ceiling was very dirty and we had to look at it all night
We’ve stayed at the Thompson many times and never have a negative thing to say. Great place with wonderful staff
Great area, but it is surrounded by a lot of homeless people. In the hotel, I felt completely safe. Step outside? Gets shady.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel with very few issues. The toilet in our suite did not flush properly. With only a couple of pieces of toilet paper, and no solid waste, it would take often times three flushes to get the toilet paper to go down. If there was solid human waste, it was at least six. This is not an exaggeration. The rest of the room, both visually and functionally was excellent. We would not hesitate to stay in the same hotel, and the same room provided. The flush issue were corrected. The view from our room was also lovely, peering down over sixth Street. There was a bunch of trash right outside the hotel, but it was very cold during our stay, so I’m sure the employees did not want to venture outside, unless absolutely necessary. There were also homeless people sleeping on the same block as the hotel, however that is much more indictment on our society than it is the responsibility of the hotel. The grits they serve in the morning were by far the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. I would go back again just for the grits. That isn’t hyperbole. The real highlight of the hotel stay was the fact that the entire hotel desk, staff and concierge were lovely and helpful.
Awesome hospitality!!! Texan at the front desk and Sage, concierge, are the best! They made my husband’s 60th birthday special and one he will never forget. All staff were polite, helpful and courteous. I would definitely recommend this place!
This hotel is perfect if you’re looking to enjoy 6th street as it is literally half a block away. The parking situation isn’t as great since you’re in the heart of downtown.
Lovely experience
What a lovely hotel. Great location, room stayed stocked with water and coffee, room was cleaned quickly, staff was friendly and helpful. On site dining was delicious and restaurant staff were warm and welcoming. It's been awhile since I enjoyed a stay at a hotel.
Very upscale and nice. Needs better light switches. Watch out for room service fees
I loved the decor and ambiance of the Thompson. My room was a great size for my needs. The bathroom fixtures and material quality was top notch.
Gorgeous hotel and the staff is very nice. Just one thing to “complain” is that the side table in my room wasn’t cleaned. You could totally see the watermark from the last person but other than that it’s a 5star experience
Super comfortable and great staff.
Great staff. Super clean room. Coming back guaranteed!!
I had the best check in experience with Nick. He was so accommodating and made the whole experience easy, quick, accommodating and elevated. Darby at the Wax Myrtle was fantastic too! The hotel vibe is sexy and moody and everything was exceptional!
Nice hotel
Thompson is a fantastic place to stay. Martinis at the bar, and food at Arribas are top notch. Location is perfect being half a block of sixth street keeps the noise down and makes it feel private. Would definetly stay again.
