Worlds end was over rated, prices did not reflect the quality. bar prices suggest its a better class establishment but actually my experience was sitting in a bar with loud foul mouthed locals. I was conned into believing I could have two smaller portions of starters as I could not decide which but then was charged for two normal portions. Annoying as that came to more than an actual full meal. Breakfast was under cooked had to leave half of it. Bedrooms were fine and room service was good, rooms very clean but so are premier inn. I was hoping for a finer class experience. Which was advertised.
Great hotel. It was a shame that we had to leave the bar area by 11pm. We had just purchased a drink and would have liked to sit for longer. Other than this the hotel was great.
The World’s End.
Hotel staff were helpful, there was a nice bar area to sit in. Room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice as well.
It fitted what we were looking for.
stay here for work, room was lovely, bathroom had a new rough edges. food in the bar was brilliant.
Well worth a stay
Rooms are quiet, comfortable and always clean. Food in both the bar and restaurant are always excellent and staff are friendly. Plenty of available parking.
Convenient for work and comfortable room
amazing
Always stay here
Always friendly. Easy check in and out. Food is lovely. Large rooms. Very comfortable beds and clean
Quaint village hotel and good value for money
We stayed overnight for a nearby wedding and thought the room was good value. The room was clean and nicely presented. We did not have breakfast as we had opted for room only but the dining area looked very pleasant. The only downside was that sound insulation is not great from the room into the corridor, not helped by bedroom doors that shut loudly.
Good Value for Money. Nice Hotel with Great Staff
2 night stay with breakfast very good value Minor issues with our evening meal but was sorted.overall a pleasant hotel
Good breakfast and comfy stay. Disappointing that restaurant and bar was closed but it was a Sunday evening. Fortunately realised the week before so found an alternative eating /drinking place.
We stay regularly at the World’s End and find it home from home.
Very clean and very polite staff! I would stay again.
Excellent
Very Clean and bright room, excellent service
Great food and accommodation
Bedrooms were in the building next to the kitchen and not connected which isn't a problem. One side of the building faces the road and the windows let a fair deal of road noise in but the road was quiet enough in the evening. nice enough
My regular choice
Always an enjoyable stay the staff a polite and helpful. Room is always clean and comfortable.
very friendly
Lovely hotel, recommended.
Nice countryside hotel, ideal for my one night stay, no problems.
Old England charm
The property was ‘old’ England. Quiet, simple, a place to rest your body and mind. There aren’t any usual ‘at your fingertips’ amenities as expected in 4* hotels, but that’s part of the charm. The food was incredible and the staff overall very welcoming. I can personally say the stay was a very restful one.
Room was nice and clean, however, room doors slam loud
It was clean and tidy. I have stayed in better but I've stayed in a lot worse
Would use agin very good
The Worlds End - Hallowed Ground
In Northampton's, Ecton a gem I found, The World's End on hallowed ground. A haven of peace, where worries cease, A sanctuary of comfort and ease. Bernie, with kindness, welcomed me in, A warmth of spirit, a radiant grin. Cleanliness shone, a spotless art, A comfort that eased the weary heart. No finer stay could be imagined, My spirit soothed, my senses enraptured. A perfect retreat, a blissful blend, A memory cherished, world without end.
Well presented hotel, clean and tidy. Room 17 has 2 single beds the one on the left has an herendous mattress. SPRINGS newrly poking through. Tv remote hit and miss No fruit or yoghurt at breakfast. Cold fresh coffee Overal i was expecting a good standard, i was disappointed. My team are staying next week i hope its better.
Nice rooms, bar, restaurant and garden area. Quiet location.
Lovely stay coupled with a lovely breakfast.
The room was as described. Nice pub with good food
Room and food were excellent, a screwed up food order was profusely apologized for and the meal once was free of charge. A very professional way of dealing with a problem so 10/10 to the staff for taking ownership of a mistake.
.
Nice and quiet but could do with refurb, staff excellent, been staying there for 10years
Rooms are nice clean spacious great having the pub for food then only down side was having to walk thru the smoking area for staff and Visitors to get to the restaurant area just not nice as a non smoker.
Don’t bother.
Not staying here again. Sub-par service and the staff lie when you question them.
Food was amazing room was everything that could ask for and more very comfortable and easy short access to shops
A great and comfortable hotel
A very warm welcome to a well run establishment. All the staff were friendly and polite, would definitely recommend this hotel.
Staff were welcoming and helpful. A very nice and interesting property, seems to be some reliance on having been in a tv programme.
Beautiful place. Grest location near the town but with a very country feel too. Fantastic food, nice rooms, lovely bar so really nice environment all round.
Lovely place to stay
Lovely location, nice clean room and nice friendly staff. Really handy for Santa Pod (our destination for that weekend).
Easy but quiet location for visiting relatives in Northampton. Bathroom cleanliness was ok but black mould deposits came away from the shower head and bath handles when using which was off putting.
Back again
As always the staff are helpful and welcoming. The good sized rooms are always clean. This time the WiFi was poor cutting out occasionally. The restaurant is comfortable with well spaced tables. The evening meals are always well cooked as is breakfast. I'll be back 😁
Return Visit
I always use this location when attending a business meeting at Earls Barton. The location meets my needs food is always good and even though on a main road is quiet. Hope to see you all again on my return visit August. Hopefully I will press the right booking button and include breakfast, which I paid for on the day and as normal was lovely
Lovely place to stay really chilled and clean and a really nice breakfast
Very pleasant stay lovely room nice restaurant and food was great
Felt like the world was ending
The hotel itself is great, room was comfortable, everything worked. My issue lies with the food. After entering the dining room, roughly 8:20, I was told the kitchen closes in 5 mins. Not a problem, decided to have the Fish & Chips. Food tasted fine Approximately 3am, I woke up with horrific stomach cramps, constantly feeling sick. I did not get back to sleep, soon as I moved in the morning, it all hit me. Vomiting, Diarrhoea, clearly I had food poisoning. Completely ruined my weekend. Will not be returning on the back of this
The staff were lovely but not enough of them. We waited at reception for 10 minutes until a staff member came, who also served us at dinner. Breakfast was great! As was dinner. The sink in our room was badly cracked, actually the whole bathroom was in need of renovation. Our TV didn’t connect to the WiFi therefore no Netflix. The phone in the room didn’t work.
Very friendly welcome, room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The shower wasn’t great, had to chase the water around a bit to get wet! Generally, a good stay, thank you.
Regular visitor
Been so many times. It's clear to see why The Worlds End is a winning hotel. Lovely location, pleasant helpful staff, good quality food and service. Comfortable rooms to stay in. Not much more you can ask for, is there?
Breakfast was £14.95 regardless of whether you just wanted a crossiant or eggs on toast (which was on the menu). Even though there was a large group of us there was no negotiation on this so we went to a Green King pub up the road both days (only 8.95 per head). On the second day (Sunday) the water was cold between about 8:30 and 9. I told reception at 9:30 and the manager suggested everything was fine, even asking the handyman what his room was like. However, my mum then came down and told me her water was also cold as was my sisters and my daughters, all in different locations in the hotel. No compensation was offered and to make matters worse the manage went off to the rooms and checked the water (9:36 by this point) and said the water was fine in two of the rooms, suggesting we were either imaging it or lying (clearly it's actually a case of the system not coping at peak times). Needs training in customer service IMHO.
Great place fantastic food
Easy parking at the property, its a busy countryside pub and restaurant and busy for a reason, probably the best steak and Ale pie ive ever eaten (had 3 this week at other places alone). Dead friendly, nice places close by to explore. Drawback is the traffic on a road facing room (boy racers). Otherwise perfect not the end of the world (see what i did there)
Lovely hotel
Lovely, comfortable hotel. Friendly staff.
we always use the Worlds End for our staff, customers and suppliers and wouldnt want to have to use anywhere else, they are great.
Staff are superb but what completely ruins this place is that you can hear EVERYTHING the next room is up to. Initially we asked to move rooms as we could here the gent nextdoor on his phone, he just had a loud voice. When we moved rooms it was just the same. I'm a deep sleeper yet was still woken several times. Even the sound of the kettle nextdoor was clear.
Great hotel, lunch disappointing.
Overall a great stay. Only negative was the lunch, a beef sandwich which I returned because it only had two small pieces of beef. The replacement was my original sandwich shoved back together with more beef, however the meat had large pieces of fat in it. Not impressed for £10.
Back Again
This has become my first choice when in the area for business. Rooms are always clean and warm. The only small criticism is the complimentary drink sachets and milk are not always filled.
staff always good, breakfast is good, evening meals used to be better but they are ok
all good at the world's end
Friendly and helpful staff - great room, food, location and beer - will return
Restaurant closed Sunday evening
It was not made clear on booking that the restaurant and bar were closed from 5pm on Sundays, I was told this wonderful news on check-in after a long drive, I was also very disappointed with this as we were meeting up with other family members for a evening meal and we had all chose to book the Hotel thinking there was resaurant. Please make sure this is clearly stated on your site in future. none of us felt like driving that evening.
Fantastic hotel and food
Stopped here whilst working locally, great rooms cosy and very comfortable, food is fantastic, would recommend it to anybody and will definitely be staying there again
Bathroom design a little bland
Good place, good food
Good place but the emergency light and poor blinds do not make for an easy nights sleep
Great team that make this a Great place to stay.
Clean & warm room. The food served in the restaurant is presented well & tastes as good as it looks. However the best part of The Worlds End for me is the friendly staff, I felt they were available & approachable at any time. There is a large car park.
I have stayed here many times and was up to the usual high standard and friendliness. Food was excellent as always, especially the breakfast!
The bedroom was not warm when we arrived, I kept my coat on . The restaurant was even colder, I didn’t take my coat off at all through the meal. Other diners were in thick jumpers or swaddled in long shawls. When I turned off the lights to go to sleep instead of the room going dark it remained very bright. There was a large green lit up sign pointing to the door, the door didn’t fit the frame properly so light from the hallway flooded the room as well. Breakfast was poor, no fresh fruit, the scrambled egg was plentiful but it was not yellow but very pale and lacked any flavour. I won’t be going back.
Convenient
Everything was good only remark is no usb wall charger which is strange these days
Regular choice of place to stay
Regularly enjoy staying here. It's quiet, food is enjoyable and the staff are helpful polite and friendly
Very welcoming, very clean and comfortable.
Lovely stay
Amazing stay again. We stay here when we go to Santa pod events. Never been disappointed. Staff are lovely and helpful. Food is nice. Rooms are lovely decorated and very clean. Can’t complain about anything.
A great place to stay
A short break very happy with the hotel. The staff were very helpful. We stayed for donner which was very good as was the breakfast. Highly recommended.
Work trips
Stayed at the worlds end quite a few times now for work. Always relaxed when I stay. Food is lovely and accommodation good. The only thing I found this time that disappointed me was the lack of service when checking out. I waited at reception for at least 10-15 mins for someone to appear. When you have work appointments it’s not ideal to be held up like this. Maybe put a buzzer or a bell at the reception so as to at least her when you have a customer waiting. Other than this little point I don’t have any complaints about TWE
Repeatedly stay here
Stayed before and will again.
All good, many thanks.
Lovely clean hotel. Great rooms
The location was perfect for meeting friends in the area. Our rooms were perfectly fine. The staff was very friendly and excellent. We dined at the restaurant and thought the food was excellent. There is lots of parking on premise. Would love to stay again.
TWE The Worlds End doesn't disappoint
A pleasant stay in Room 14 ( photograph) at TWE . However the restaurant was already fully booked & might need an earlier reservation if required. The Bar is also very popular & room at a premium. Rooms in the Building Annex (photographed) were comfortable.
We were made to feel very welcome, both evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Thank you
Bathroom generally clean broken tiles marks in toilet. Bed comfortable some dust on fittings, marks on walls. Staff lovely friendly helpful. Would stay again. Food good
It’s a bit tired. Someone tried to update the rooms but….Anyway, very good value for money and the food is as great. This was a two night business stay for me.
This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at the Worlds End and on both occations the rooms have been clean and the staff friendly, the breakfasts made a good start to the day.
Lovely place to stay & eat
We booked TWE for the 1st time instead of staying in Wellingborough. The staff were welcoming and we were very happy with our superior room ( apart from the mirror in the bathroom unless your 6ft tall) We had a family meal in the evening in the restaurant and the food was very good and again the staff were very attentive. We found it a lovely place to stay and to eat
Excellent stay
Good parking, great food and fantastic staff. Only negative was the poor WiFi in the rooms but it didn't stop us enjoying our stay, we will return.
Disappointing
The staff was kind. The hotel says 4* stars however, does have air conditioner or mini bar. I didn't see a lift as well. No acoustic isolation, you can literally hear people's conversation in the other rooms. Bathroom had some left hair from someone else in the shower and bath. Carpet full of stains.
It delivered what was expected and was good value for money. The food was well cooked and presented.
Dont risk booking. Service terrible
They double booked us and had no where for us to stay. They were unhelpful, didnt even offer us a drink after a long journey on a hot day, instead watched as we purchased one ourselves, while they faffed around. Kept repeating that this hasn't happened before, which is not useful at all. I asked to speak to the owner but i was refused. I had to find my own alternative accomodation and im still waiting for my refund and compensation to cover the cost of the additional room i had to book.
Hairs on the bathroom floor and ill-fitting toilet seat. No flannels. Not enough choice of in-room drink facilities. Some of the dining room staff seemed inexperienced and made mistakes on order. Food took more than an hour, although the manager did get us complementary drinks. No food served for Sunday dinner, strange! Just needs a bit more thought.
The room was ok (ish) with the exception of stains all over the carpet by where the kettle is and position of the room. We have stayed in the same room (6) on the last 3 occasions now and the grubbiness still hasn’t been dealt with. Also being right at the end of the corridor next to the fire door and opposite the cleaners cupboard it is very noisy early morning, disturbing us, and the smell of smoke seeps under the door as people are obviously smoking outside the fire door. There was absolutely no parking upon arrival and we had to park quite a way from the hotel. After driving over 250 miles I just wanted to park and unpack. Staff are not very appreciative of comments and don’t even reply if you say anything negative at all. I don’t feel as if customer care is very good and they appear dismissive and unresponsive. At one stay we had no hot water at all in the hotel so couldn’t shower but staff were not at all apologetic. I am a blue light holder and feel that we are put in the worst room because of this therefore it is not a perk for working in emergency services. The location is ideal for us as we have to visit the area frequently.
Great Hotel
Great venue, very friendly staff, highly recommended.
Repeat visitor
They deserved to win 4 in a bed. Stayed here so often myself. Will stay again too
Hotel is clean comfortable with good service and surroundings
Accommodation and food excellent
Very good value for money. Had evening meal and breakfast which we enjoyed very much. Didn't like the plastic toilet seat and only had enough toiletries for one and there were two of us. Hospitality tray very basic. Overall very good value though.
Lovely old style hotel with modern touches
Staff are brilliant and room was clean only point would be hard to control room temperature. Otherwise a lovely place to stay
Lost in Time (Keeping)
All good generally apart from the bar. Tried to fet a drink at 10.45 (they said the bar clised at 11) but was refused as they said they had already locked up. Won't go there again!
Cosy and easy to locate.
Pretty good
It was very much as expected
Fab weekend
Had a lovely weekend with friends, hotel and food was fab, really friendly staff,
Lovely hotel with bar and restaurant
The hotel is in a pretty little village. The rooms were clean with everything you need, lovely freshly cooked breakfast. The restaurant and bar were lovely, modern and beautifully decorated. The meals and drinks were good with great service. We all enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend
Great service at a good price. Restaurant was excellent
Back again
Another year another 3 stays already booked. Such pleasant helpful staff a plainly a comfortable pleasant place to stay
