10/10 wouldn’t stay anywhere else in portland
I can’t say enough good about the staff or the property. The valet crew was top notch and friendly, offering tips, directions and even shuttle rides across town as the weather was poor and since they had time they said they didn’t see a need for me to take a lyft. The front desk hooked us up with an early check in and late check out and the hotel bar / breakfast restaurant was great as well. Per the room, it was spacious, views were great, bed comfy, couch comfy and the shower was also large and modern. Wouldn’t even bother trying another property in town after staying here. Steps to the State Theatre and lots of great restaurants and shops and just a short walk to old port and the boardwalk.
Everything about our stay was perfection. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The room exceeded all my expectations. I will absolutely return.
Comfortable beds. Mostly quite rooms
Hello, I was a guest of the hotel for seven nights. I had a room on the back of the hotel. Below my window several flights down, there was a parking lot. There were groups of mostly men hanging around that area during the day. My first few nights, I was awoken during the night by shouting and banging. One bang was so loud that I wondered if it was a gunshot. I was on a work trip so this greatly impacted my day. I spoke with someone at the desk about this and they did move me to a room on the front of the hotel on the top floor, which was much quieter.
Third time staying there
Perfect location
Love staying here! Starbucks coffee was a nice touch.
The hotel was in the middle a lot attractions that were walkable. It was nice to walk around and get familiar with the area we're staying in .
The place was clean and comfortable but a bit loud until midnight
could use an upgrade in bedding but otherwise a clean and comfortable stay
Clean and comfortable
Very clean hotel with many amenities. A great sit-down breakfast with many options was included.
Good location and a comfortable stay for one night in town. Self parking was also easy and convenient.
...
Meh
Hotel was fine but I wouldn’t call it luxurious. Parking was clunky and expensive. Would’ve been nice to see more of the harbor from my room and less of the parking garage. Service was good.
Awesome location. Very fun and friendly staff. Beautiful rooftop bar!
Great location, Top of the East cocktail bar, C2 restaurant, and coffee shop a bonus. Hotel and room up to date, cozy and clean. Staff was very friendly too.
Love staying at this hotel. Have never had a bad experience!
Alway nice to stay at the Westin
Very nice
Very nice stay, staff very friendly
This is our second time staying here. It's conveniently located. The room is clean & very spacious. Staff is very welcoming. A free shuttle service from the bus terminal was very helpful!
Parking lot not owned by the hotel is a little sketchy. Elevators and the area where u get off is dirty and feels a little unsafe . This is by no means the fault of the hotel as they don’t own the lot but Mayb could encourage she owners to clean it up a little. One hotel improvement would b electric outlets with charging ports or lamps with ports
I had an incredible stay! This was my first time at the Westin Harborview. Upon check-in I was awarded “Guest of the Day” status with a top floor upgrade. It was such a sweet surprise and a wonderful experience. The harbor view is quite lovely and the next morning I watched a couple of cargo ships move through the draw bridge while sipping delicious in room Starbucks coffee. From check-in to upgrade, which included a complimentary breakfast in C2 (delicious options and friendly warm service), to the convenient location, the ease of parking with a connecting breeezeway to the hotel and some delicious restaurants within walking distance, every moment was wonderful. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Super friendly staff and an overall fabulous visit. I may not receive Guest of the Day the next time I stay but I expect I’ll still receive excellent service and wonderful accommodations. Highly recommend!
Yes
Great place
We got the room righ beside the elevator, it was very very noisy
Terribly Upsetting Experience
I made this reservation a week before as an emergency place for my special needs daughter. She was locked out of our home very late in the evening (around 11 PM) in well below freezing weather and I was away (far). When I called the hotel to make reservation, I was advised to make reservation in 3rd party app for much better rate. When I did, in my panicked rush, I accidentally made reservation for wrong date. One minute later, could not cancel. So, friend, tried again with correct date (12/7). But my daughter could not check in because hotel would not take ApplePay for check in credit card and my daughter’s actual credit card was locked inside of the house. Overall, terrible experience — $300+ wasted and not refundable and my day g yet still had to drive 2 hours in the middle of the night to safety.
Right around the corner from our concert
Building is quite old (originated in 1927), but had a complete renewal done inside. Room was very nicely appointed and bed was great. Loved the shower! Breakfast deal as an add on to the room charge was fantastic. Breakfast for 2 let's you pick any 2 main dishes (I had a 3 egg omelette with my choice of 3 ingredients, plus excellent potatoes, choice of bread) non-alcoholic beverage (we both had coffee) and juice. The food was great and the price was unbeatable.
The hotel was great, just some shady characters living outside the property made it awkward after dark
Excellent
Worked out perfectly for a hookup after meeting a woman at a restaurant.
Excellent every time.
I was clean and safe
I love staying here
This place is particularly convenient for USM graduations and shows at the State Theatre and the Cross Insurance Arena. It is a city, so expect the usual people and activities that make people who are not from cities nervous. Also, be careful in the bathroom - the floor tiles are incredibly slippery when wet, like sliding on a soapy floor. The staff members are incredibly nice.
The property is walking distance to old town portland and close to lots of restaurants. Great views. Hotel had a great restaurant and bar. I didnt like that the beer at the restaurant was more expensive than other surrounding restaurants selling the same beer. Disappointed on that
Great location, easy parking, excellent experience.
There was nothing about the property i did not like. The bar on the 15th floor was beautiful!
Very friendly staff and comfortable accommodations right downtown.
Really great hotel nice big rooms and ur within walking distance to a lot of the town
Clean/ quite.
Smelled terrible
Room smelled like vomit. It got worse as the night went on. Elevator dinged and rattled all night. Heating system was incredibly loud. Toilets were even louder when they flushed and you could hear the flushing from other rooms. Worse night at a hotel EVER!!! Customer rep at the front desk could have cared less.
Great location and good service
Rooftop view was beautiful.
Sky lounge was excellent
Location is very close to tourist areas.
Great staff. Excellent room service. Nice room. Fair rates. A wonderful choice in Portland! A-
Rooms was very nice but I wish had more food options
Great! Clean!
Centrally located.
It checked all the boxes. Good sized room, great shower, easy parking, great morning coffee in the room. I’m easy but not every place has all those things. Very quiet and easy walking to good restaurants
Lovely stay
Lots of needles and the little park smelled like urine
Great amenities and service
Such a super convenient location (across the street from State Theatre!) for a pet friendly stay! Great little outdoor area to walk our small dog and felt safe. Amazing breakfast spots nearby. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Nice, clean hotel. Parking a tad expensive
Loved the hotel and surrounding area. (*) Noting that there is a significant homeless population in the vicinity around Portland and btw the hotel and harbor restaurants. They didn’t bother us but maybe important to know so no surprises when walking around the area.
Excellent hotel, very clean, valet was great. Got late check out for signing up for the email membership
We parked in the garage next to the hotel. We took care of our own luggage and came down the stairwell too where the exit connects to the Westin. The stairwell was disgusting; dirty and smelling of urine. Not a great way to enter the Westin. The room we had was more on the high price, hoping the decor would make the expense worth while. Though the room was clean, the decor was “tired and bland.” Specifically, the following issues do not warrant the room price: 1. There was a large tear along the back rest of the chair that was paired with the computer console table. 2. The furniture was marked and worn; the finish was down to the bare wood. 3. The seams of the wallpaper had failed, so the edges of the wallpaper were curling off the wall. 4. There was a small tear in the skirt covering the box spring. 5. The bathtub drain needs a clean out; during a shower, the water would begin to fill the tub-water could not drain adequately. My room number at the Westin Hotel in Portland Maine was 1227. I had a two night stay on August 13th and 14th.
This was a very nice hotel! Everywhere was extremely clean and they had 2 restaurants in the hotel to choose from. The rooftop bar is beautiful and the bar staff were excellent and friendly!
I found this hotel very comfortable and clean. The staff was welcoming. The only issue I had was with the area around the property. There were a lot of homeless and addicts. I think however this is a Portland problem not the hotel but I would probably choose another location when I return.
The lounge on the 15th floor is great
Hotel was wonderfully sound proof, the staff was kind and we enjoyed our stay. I would likely book again but it’s pricey (although comparable) and the area it’s in is just…. Well, seedy?
No complaints. The stay was very nice.
Nice, upscale hotel
Short walk to the water and the center of the old port. Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant on the top floor had incredible views of the city; definitely recommend going up there for at least a drink.
A convenient place near downtown with a free shuttle that operates on first come first serve.
The beds and the pillows were awful. We felt like we were sinking into the middle of the mattress. Pillows were like lumpy sandbags. Staff was friendly and excellent. The C2 restaurant was really good. The rooftop bar was sublime and the wait staff so very nice and friendly. Location is excellent. Just need better beds snd then this hotel is perfect.
Terrible hotel. Horrible and unsafe location. Hallways smell of urine. Rooms are loud, walls are paper thin. Staff is rude, slow and unhelpful. Will charge you twice hoping you don’t notice.
We loved the cleanliness of the hotel and the closeness to all that we wanted to do!..would definitely stay here again!
Its a lovely property. I just wish it was closer to the main bars and restaurants and to the main part of downtown Portland. In a word - location. But, the property itself is very good.
Hotel was nice but overpriced. The restaurant food was not good and also too pricey. Parking should be included but you have to pay for that as well. This hotel does not offer anything special above any other hotel to justify the price. Probably would not stay again.
Portland Summer’24
The front desk host John was very knowledgeable and took his time to explain how to get around town. My daughter and I really enjoyed staying in the Portland Westin for a few days. Would like to mention that parking is easy which is not always the case in a city.
A+ hotel, just a little far from the tourist traps
The staff couldn’t have been nicer. Wonderful people working here. The place is beautiful and clean. Lots of amenities. My only issue is the distance from all the going’s on. I happened to go during a heatwave and getting down and over to where all the activity is was with lots of sweating.
We really enjoyed our stay! Clean and styled facilities, walkable location, easy parking, and competitive prices for peak tourist season in Portland. Staff was also eager to answer our questions and make recommendations for how to navigate the city. Gladly recommend!
It was a great place to stay.
Counting
This hotel is beautiful! Great location, fantastic service, and our room was very comfortable. The people were welcoming and went above and beyond to be sure our stay there was 5 star. Thanks again to the Westin Harborview in Portland. We will be back!
Staff was fantastic! Miss Jessica was a great bartender and service for dinner was excellent!
Fabulous Stay
We had a fabulous stay. It was clean and room service was top-notch. Highly recommend.
The location was easy to get to and valet parking made it convenient. The restaurant/ bar on the top floor has an amazing view and the staff were great. The room was clean and well maintained. The shower had great pressure it the body wash bottle was empty and the shower was not as clean as all the other places in the room.
Always a comfortable stay at the Westin and glad that it is pet-friendly. Area has lots of restaurants. Different, eclectic feel compared to Old Port which is more family friendly.
Clean and upscale hotel that is a quick 15 minute walk to the Old Port area of Portland. Cold water provided in the lobby area was a really nice touch on hot days. Highly reccommend.
Great stay . Only kick was dirty chair in room 638 Could be cleaned. Staff was outstanding breakfast was great location perfect
The hotel itself was ok but the surrounding area was dirty and felt unsafe. The only parking option was $33 per night after their “discount”. There was also a concert venue nearby that we could hear late into the night from our room. Would not recommend.
Ann’s review
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Very important for solo traveler.. Special thanks to John who helped me with taxi service and another shoutout to AirPort Express service. On time which helps with stress reduction on the way home.
Good location clean and nice
Clean. Allowed early check in
There was a lot of homeless people in the area. Not sure about safety?
All the staff were so helpful and kind.
All staff we encountered were incredibly kind and helpful. Beautiful, clean and well-located hotel.
Kids love the cookies right by the entrance.
Adequate business hotel
This was a reasonably nice business hotel, but not up to what I'd expected from a Westin. It was a bit dated and a bit on the periphery of downtown Portland. Service was good, the rooms were large, and nothing was terribly wrong, just not a great hotel overall.
Curious
The stay was fine and the room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and professional. The only glitch was that my Hotels.com points don’t seem to have been applied to my prepaid bill. The full charge remains pending on my credit card account four days after the stay. Is there something that I should do?
All staff were super friendly and helpful. Room on 8th floor was huge, corner room, good views and could just see the ocean. We were disappointed the 15th floor bar and restaurant was closed the evening we were there. But plenty of restaurants just 10 to 20 minutes walk down to the old port area. Some areas, especially the exterior, need some tlc!
Not a fan of parking situation but overall my favorite place to stay in Portland, ME
So very DISAPPOINTED
We enjoyed the room but the Top of the East was our destination for our 40th birthday- it was TERRIBLE. The service was very very slow- and though we had reservations it took 45 before we were served our first drink. We were going to a show and waited forever for sun-par food served very disjointed( there were 6 of us) two at a time with long periods in between we had apps. Not sure why everything took so long. It was honestly the worst service I have ever had and considering the prices of everything, it seems like it’s robbery. The views were beautiful at least but my friend was disappointed that she chose your establishment to celebrate her birthday. How unfortunate that they paid top dollar for a babysitter to spend too much money and miss the beginning of a show with having 5:30 reservations. I remember when the Top of the East was fun, beautiful and the place to enjoy good food, service and friends
Best Pet-friendly Hotel in Portland!
The hotel is very dog friendly. Highly recommend if traveling with a dog.
This property is five minutes to my favorite tandem bakery 15 minutes to ugly, duckling, and 15 minutes down to the wharf walking everywhere. There’s a little shady mess around the surrounding area, but feels safe.
It smells fantastic, as usual. The valet, bellman, concierge, and front desk were all extremely friendly and helpful.
