Great staff, and very clean property.
Room service was not great ordered grilled peaches and yogourt. Strawberries still had all the green on them. Yogourt tasted terrible. Bathrooms need work 24” door and old tubs. Otherwise property is lovely great Westin smell.
Great location. Well maintained hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Westin. The room was very clean and beautiful. It was quiet. We really enjoyed the pool and that it had towels provided. The location is great. Bus stops close by, grocery store next door and discovery centre across the street. Would definitely stay again.
The Westin is a great hotel in downtown Halifax. Clean rooms, very friendly staff, and a great in-house restaurant! Pet-friendly too!
Nice location.

Not worth the cost, but parking was good for the area. Nice hot tub and pool. Everything but the room was fancy...not my favorite place but i would stay again if i had to
A Hotel
Was in Halifax for a business conference, hotel was selected by the association. 30 minutes or so from the airport, check in took a little long as there was only one girl at the desk, which was brutal with all of us coming in. Besides that everything else was good / up to standard.
Property is dated, rooms in need of updating of carpeting and washrooms. No gift shop which was disappointing.
Excellent hotel. We will return
Great place to stay. Good customer service
Well appointed, large room with lots of natural light and lighting. One of the most comfortable hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in.
Fantastic stay! Will return.
Excellent property, staff is very professional and pillows super comfy.
Room needed maintenance, many things not working or broken. Would expect more from a Westin.
Quiet, safe, helpful and friendly staff, delicious buffet breakfast.
Great overall.
I liked the property.
Loved the comfy bed and the hot tub!
Staff was excellent!
Easy sign in , good meals, comfortable up to date room , slow elevator.
The staff were professional and helpful, making our stay that much more special. Also the brunch was delicious!
Always great place to rest. Sleep came easy
Amazing service thank you Abdullah! Merry Christmas!
Safe was great to deal with, room was very clean and well maintained
Jetted tub was dirty and jets need to be cleaned as gunk came out of them while I was in the tub. Room was dusty. Over night front desk guy saved my life with a glass of milk delivered to my door in the middle of the night to help with awful heart burn. Amazing service thank you
It is very convenient for the Saturday morning farmers' market, the rail station, Spring Garden and the harbour boardwalk. Indeed, most of Halifax downtown is within walking distance but watch those hills.
The staff was very helpful and the room was great -- they had upgraded us before we even got there! I can't think of a single thing to complain about. The restaurant was expensive, but we did like the half-price appetizers for happy hour. I'll definitely stay there again.
Very nice hotel
Very busy hotel. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Good restaurant on site.
Elevators were very poorly set up. We stayed on the 11th floor and when trying to down we waited 12 minutes for the elevator that did not come. We walked down instead of continuing to wait
Staff friendly and helpful. Too far from everything
Lovely stay with young children! Clean, great beds, amazing breakfast buffet, nice bar, great location, huge double room. Very good stay. Only complaint - bathroom was a little small and the tub didn’t drain properly.
Good stay at Westin Nova Scotian
Had a great stay, staff were friendly and helpful, our room was clean and comfortable and the pool and hot tub were nice after a long day of shopping and sightseeing. The lobby was cozy and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The only small hiccup was parking. It’s $25/day and on my second night there was no parking at all due to a Christmas party in the ball room. After driving in circles for 30 mins hoping for a spot I decided my only option would be to upgrade to valet parking as they had spaces. Other than the parking we had a great stay and would return next time we’re in the area
Was very disappointed with the check in process. Did early check in the night before, arrived at 230( check in is at 3), room was not ready, waited an hour still no room and had to complain to the manager. Got a room. Then got a text at 522 that my room was ready.
The toilet was a public toilet. There was painted water damage, was scared of hidden mold issues
It was a quick check-in. Room was pretty clean and had everything we needed. The sleep aromatherapy vial by the bed is a nice touch! The pool is also open until 11, which is really nice because by the time we got home from supper, we still had time to go swimming. The shower has a rain shower head, which is also a nice touch. Although the parking is easy, the fee is steep. The elevators are quite slow and check-out was also a bit slow, as for some reason all of the workers were in the back for a period of time and a line accumulated.
What you expect from a hotel
Na
Westin is a beautiful historical site filled with charm. Remember some rooms are very small and every bathroom I have had is really small. Staff always seem to be slow at check in however, restaurant is excellent. It is very expensive for breakfast but, it is excellent. Parking is outside and easy to access with large vehicles (hard to find in Halifax). Beds are very soft and I personally don’t find them comfortable. Great Location!
Lovely room but the shower was okay
Best bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel.
Initially we were given a room on a low floor; there was a very loud fan/generator outside that was quite noticeable and annoying. Surprisingly, the staff seemed unaware, but found us a room on a higher floor. I would definitely recommend requesting a higher floor - the noise of the fan/generator can still be heard but is much less intrusive the higher up the room is. There were many events at the hotel during our stay, so we opted to walk to the waterfront area rather than try the hotel restaurant.
Overall a very good stay
Overall my stay was excellent. The room was very comfortable and clean. Didn’t like the way the walk in robe closed behind you and the room went dark. Very annoying. The service overall for the majority of my stay was first class especially from the Concierge Lee and the bell hops. Restaurant service was good too. Pool and spa were excellent. My one complaint was that on my last night there was a party in the room next to me that went until nearly 1:30am. I rang “Express Service” only to be put on hold. I then rang again at 1:15am and the call was answered and the noise stopped. Other than this annoying blemish I had an excellent stay.
Quality property, smaller, yet well appointed rooms.
We didn’t mind the hotel but the smell in our room because of the carpet was very bad. We won’t return to this hotel.
Loved being close to a grocerystore, distillery across the street was pleasant. Lots of options for entertainment. Restaurant inside the restaurant is a must, room was nice clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Great location
The mirror is broken bottom left corner very sharp and dangerous next to a shower. Wall paper is peeling off in the shower by the roof
Parking is in outside and expensive. You need to walk in the rain and wind to get from the back door to the hotel.
Elegant hotel, good services, right price!
Staff were excellent. Location perfect
Great stay.
Great spot, perfect location, can’t recommend it enough
Great location, helpful staff who allowed me to check in significantly early. The bed was super comfortable, bathroom was clean, lots of dining options and shopping around. Can’t recommend this spot enough.
Right on the waterfront in Halifax, where nice restaurants and cafés are. Westin is a top quality chain.
Loved it! Excellent stay!
Avoid this hotel at all costs. I have been in many hotels including other Westins and this has been by far least comfortable experience I had. Small rooms, a lot of noise, unhelpful staff, and generally cheap. The coffee maker is probably from 1931. Anything you need, you got to pay extra. Safe didn't work. Turning shower to cold was actually hot and vice versa. The AC vent kept falling off. The restocking was a joke. There's not a single room in the lobby I could sit and have a business call in quiet. I don't know why so many conferences are held here. Probably due to no competition?! Internet was so slow. The only good thing about this place is the location and being walkable to downtown. And they charged us above $450 CDN per night for a tiny double twin bed room. It was a last moment trip for me otherwise I would have never got this place.
It was a comfortable stay.
Room average. Pool no steps. Ladder only. Parking sloppy
The lobby is beautiful. The room was nice but the door to the bathroom was so narrow (picture a closet door) you almost need to turn sideways to go in and out. The breaker blew in the bathroom after using the hotel provided hair dryer for three minutes - nothing else plugged in at the time.
Rooms are small and hotel is very dated
Great, location, lovely hotel and good service. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Galifax.
Staff were fantastic, location was perfect, walking distance to so many restaurants and shops. Loved watching the cruise ships. Room was spacious and clean.
Lovely hotel in the heart of Halifax.
Service was good. Had a junior suite and it is very dated and run down. Bed was not comfortable at all. Noisy due to pool elevator. Bathroom was so tiny for such a huge suite. Room just seemed to be poorly laid out
great location to downtown Halifax. The staff was excellent!!
Great location for walking the waterfront and getting to university!
Had a double bed instead of a queen bed. Bathroom door would get stuck each time it was closed locking yourself in. They don’t notify you parking is a daily rate of $23. When you check in it just says parking is $23 but not per day.
Lovely hotel
This is a wonderful hotel. Staff is great, hotel is lovely. The only reason we didn't give it a 5 is because the rooms need to be renovated. The sink and bathroom tile were cracked and the carpet and bedding need an upgrade.
Very nice, beautiful!
Excellent and close to everything!
Good service
Hotel was very nice at the end of the Halifax waterfront. Staff were very courteous. Our room was a little bit small in an awkward corner, but that would be my only critique.
Rooms in the older wings starting to show their age. Our room was very musty smelling on check in, but thankfully the windows opened & we were able to air it out.
The Westin Nova Scotian is an older hotel but is nicely maintained. It has a great location across from the Pier, easy walk to great restaurants,
The room was really small for what we were paying. Also there were things like the photo on the wall which had a lard hand print on it and the remiss was so dirty I didn’t really want to touch it. However the bed was comfy and the staff was really nice
Not worthy of a Westin label. Poorly cleaned rooms and uncomfortable beds
Lobby staff very helpful, good restaurant
Great location
Very close to the downtown area but wasn’t noisy, very clean hotel. Enjoyed my stay, would stay here again
Amazing one night stay!
Nice hotel near the boardwalk. Hotel staff was nice as well and clean rooms
Great stay in Halifax Westin
There was some very noisy construction being done outside of our first room. We asked if we could switch and there was another room available - perfect! Nicer than our first room. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Loved our stay at the Westin in Halifax. Location, location, location!
Great location, great room. Food fantastic.
Room had unusual smell. Walk-in closet door didn’t have a stopper and closed down automatically, shutting the light off. Check-in had long wait time.
This hotel did not disappoint. We had an excellent view of the harbor until our last day when a cruise ship docked at pier 21. The room was luxurious, warm and comfortable. Staff was amiable, helpful and smiled a lot. Definitely staying here when we return.
Great location!
Hotel has a great location. Very short walking distance to most attractions. Personnel is super friendly, specially those working in the restaurant.
I found the location terrific but the hotel and room was a little run-down and dated. It didn’t have that attention to the small things that you usually find at Marriot Bonvoy hotels.
Old hotel - very used in need of an update. Great location for the pier and surrounding area.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Parts of the building are starting to show its age although it is kept very clean. Would visit again.
Old, but remodeled, simply wonderful hotel. Location is excellent, the lobby and the valet service are excellent. Hotel appears to be well-run. Bar and dining are not outstanding, but good. Excellent location, walking distance to many places and off-site restaurants and the waterfront in Halifax.
Very convenient - located on harbour front. We were able to drop off our rental car here, have a nice dinner, stay overnight and leave on the train to Quebec City all from the property. Made this leg of the trip entirely stress free.
The property was average. It was walking distance to most of the surrounding areas of attraction and restaurants. The dining options limited. The room was small and tight. The air felt stuffy in the room.
Wonderful. We got in late, check-in was easy. Room and hotel facilities extremely and comfortable. Will be returning for two more days in same month.
Rooms were very dated. Smelled like cigarette smoke. Bathroom toilet lid did not fit and bathroom smelled like mildew. We had no view. Beds were small and lumpy. Good hotel breakfast but expensive. Good location.
The hotel was in a great area. At the end of one side of the harbour front, right across from the pier. Hotel was nice looking and felt safe as you had to scan your room key to pick a floor on the elevator. Our room was small, but it’s fine for 1-2 people.
