Location and staff were great , sadly a lot of package holiday guests from India spoiled the stay and took away from the beautiful and peaceful location . Too loud , rude and simply not ideal
Great resort #
Very nice resort in Langkawi. Eventough there were lots of people at the breakfast, there were always free sun beds by the pool. Especially by the rock pool. We saw 2 types of monkeys during our 4 days stay and they really steal peoples food from balconies.
Enjoyed my stay at The Westin Langkawi – the location, facilities and dining options were great. I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, and I encourage you to enjoy their spa. I also recommend doing the island hop tour that was recommended by the tour desk at the hotel.
Beautiful setting, well manicured grounds, friendly staff. The only negative was breakfast - some mornings long queues and then queues for the egg station, some mornings offered coffee some not. For a breakfast that took me 20 minutes to eat I spent almost 15 minutes in total queuing to get in and to get an omelette. It all felt a little chaotic and not well organised. If there a long queues at the egg station , why not open the second one which was sitting idle. Not really what I anticipate from a 5 star hotel.
Amazing View and Private beach access
The hotel was full due to the Christmas break and the facilities are horrible, they have 200 rooms and literally 9 umbrellas around the pool and the dining options are very limited, a total of four restaurants, three are having the same exact below average menu, and the "special" reataurant is fully booked every day, stayed there for four nights and tried to book dinner there every single day and it's always fully booked, last day after fighting over the phone for ten minutes they got us an "exception" and booked us a table. During the dinner we found out that the restaurant is deserted and only three tables were used. Every day you have to queue for 20-30 minutes for breakfast, the breakfast was ok. The nagging for checkout was at another level they kept insisting that it's impossible to get late checkout as the hotel is fully booked back to back and that they need to prepare the room for the next guests, at the end we checked out and kept using the room for two extra hours without them preparing it for the next guest so they could have easily at least get the credit of late checkout. The main reason we booked at this hotel is that it had a private beach but the beach is not for swimming, full of stones and rocks. So basically we were stuck at a hotel with almost no facilities to use. I haven't tried any other hotel in Langkawi but I am sure you can get the same bad experience for half the price. Also the toilet in some public areas like in the SPA building wasn't clean.
"When I checked in, there was no detailed explanation, and after I was forced to pay 800 ringgit separately from the deposit, a cockroach appeared in the room." The room is dirty. The water pressure in the shower is weak
Sprawling facilities with many amenities. Great for families
Everything was good
Property a bit dated Noisy when people check in and out at night Surrounding environment very pleasant
We have loved our time here this week! We haven’t slept this well in years - the hype about the Heavenly Beds, is an actual thing!! The resort is comfortable, quiet, with beautiful gardens and staff who go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and well looked after. And the view is stunning! Extra special mention to Hakimi - the Lobby Ambassador. Always welcoming, always helpful, always a smile and a kind and caring way of making you feel special as a guest. Thank you so much Hakimi!! For the F&B team - just a little feedback: The breakfast station with the sliced meats - guys, it needs some serious work on the presentation. It looks very unappetising and you have almost all the accompaniments to go with smoked salmon, but no smoked salmon, which is something I see whenever I stay at a Westin hotel - so not sure why you don’t have it? The buffet is plentiful but it doesn’t feed the eye in some areas where it should. The fruit area, yoghurt areas and juice areas all need some presentation and styling help. Would have also loved a bbq by the incredible pool - but over our 5 days no outdoor dining options like this were avail. This is just feedback - we absolutely loved our time and will definitely be back (guys pls fix the breakfast presentation issues by then, and order in some smoked salmon please !!!) Thank you everyone, for an unforgettable holiday in paradise.. Lisa & Hamish Room 2310
Lovely hotel, plenty to do onsite and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area.
We went for the first part of our honeymoon and booked the pool villa 2006. It was beautiful and private. Even though it rained for most of the days, we still enjoyed our villa and pool. The bed was like a bed from heaven, we still dream about it!. The staff were all so wonderful and helpful. The food was delicious. The sunset views were lovely. It’s very secure and easy to get a Grab taxi to drive you to other areas of the island. I really hope we can come back soon
We would definitely come back to the Westin in Langkawi.
Stuff and facilities amazing very polite Curtis and Clean as always western are a beautiful place to stay surrounding both beautiful beaches
The hotel is perfect and clean , but the bathroom smells so bad .. Breez restaurant was good … everything was great except the bathroom
We enjoyed our stay, the hotel's staff was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.
We had a fantastic stay overall, good service, delicious food and drink. Only thing is that the facilities are looking a bit tired, outside could do with a lick of paint.
the dusky langurs in the trees at the hotel were a lovely surprise.
A
Humid
Hotel was great but we did not enjoy the open air aspect of hotel. It was the 1st week in June and way too humid for us. Not the hotels fault of course.
clean
Everything was perfect. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Their facilities were great and they have various activities that kept us company during the trip, we truly enjoy the sunset and sunrise yoga session with ChaCha. We had awesome time celebrating my birthday here and definitely will be back in the future :)
Look forward to visiting again. Staff was above and beyond
Was a nice base for a weekend away. Overall, The properly is quite dated and in need of an update. Would suggest the hotel to rename the “Garden View Rooms” as the grounds outside are scorched/dead: which is quite disappointing. The bed is extremely comfortable. The room design, like the hotel, is dated - and the same goes for the gym (well equipped but dated). The breakfast and evening buffet offers a good selection and it was a nice touch to offer Brut at breakfast for guests to enjoy mimosa. For special dinner occasions suggest to walk along the beach to Kayu Puti of St Regis Hotel - which also has a nicer bar for cocktails at Sunset with no reservations required. For F&B and spa at the Westin - prices are international rates. There is a100RM corking fee at Tide restaurant - so guests can take advantage of the better wines available at the local supermarket just a few mins drive away and save considerably at the same time. Grab taxi and food is super easy to / from the hotel.
Gorgeous grounds (swimming pool facing the sea) and spacious, clean rooms. Only thing that let this place down is the food & sometimes service - expected more for a 5 star
This property shows 5 star hotel. But customer service and only the reception staff is 1 star. I had worth experience with check i and check out with reception
Very nice property with amazing views, very helpful and polite staff and plenty of delicious food
Beautifully appointed hotel. Lovely gardens, pools and sea views. Tide restaurant particularly good. No service around pool for eats or drinks. Poor service in Breeze lounge. Good location for ferry.
Excellent facilities and stunning scenery, staff friendly and helpful
I have visited more than 40 countries and stayed in more than 100 5 star hotels and I assure you this is the worst ever First of all the staff is not helpful and the management don’t care (you have to ask them several times to get things done even very basic things such as changing towels or getting a cup of tea) Secondly, rooms are not clean (dirty towels and blankets..) Third the breakfast is really poor and the service is very poor Overall we have wasted 5 nights asking for clean blankets and hot milk for the kids
Excellent hotel
Stay was wonderful. Staff always cheerful and helpful. Hotel was clean and well maintained. Food was well prepared and well-executed. Room air conditioning functioned perfectly. Pool was clean and warm. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Enjoyed our stay, Beautiful view. Nice swimming bar and swimming pools. The rooms could to be updated.
Amazing restaurant and nice peoples serving with big smiles 😃 all times.
Wonderful resort with great staff. Right on the beach on a gorgeous bay, so tranquil. Lovely to be able to walk to the St Regis next door too for some drinks and dinner too. Would totally recommend this hotel.
Good location but the property is a bit tired
Travel here... It is worth it
The trip and the room exceeded my expectations... Yes it was a suite but, the staff was very helpful and attentive. Will visit again....
Amazing vacay choice for a family
Westin Langkawi is a beautiful property. Perfect setting for a lovely relaxing vacation with the family. We had a wonderful couple of days...the staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast spread is amazing and the spa services are world class. Can't wait to come back!
Amazing quiet location and the views are spectacular. The staff were all so accommodating and professional. Great breakfast. Highly recommend.
Will definitely be back
Staff were friendly and helpful.
I would like to extend our thanks to your staff specially Shauqi and all the staffs that attended to us during our stay. It has been an amazing stay throughout our 3 nights stay. Place was beautiful and cosy but abit too big for family of 5 who are still below age 10. Overall i love the bathtub villa, the breakfast, the pool and everything. Will definitely come back to Westin Langkawi!! Thank you for making our anniversary trip a memorable one.
Quiet area with good on site facilities. Beach is OK for sands are not as soft and white. Room that I stay in is a bit old and some of the plugs seems not working. Bath room had bit and piece missing like handle from the shower cubical, roll curtain next to the bath window are missing.

The place n breakfast
If you want a quick weekend getaway, in a quiet, self-container resort, this will tick all the boxes. 1/2 hour drive from the airport, excellent staff, great food and service (many items not on the menu were prepared on request). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
The hotel needs renovation. The rooms and infra is ageing. The breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are very limited and not what’s expected at this price.
The location of the Westin is excellent. The beach, the pools, the surrounding area are all very beautiful and peaceful. All staff members we encountered were very nice and clearly wanted to make our visit enjoyable. However, the hotel itself is nice but not great. The first room we were in had a broken shower door and other maintenance issues. Once we told the front desk they immediately moved us to a new room without any fuss. The food was good but not great especially for the price.
4 day stay at the Westin
A fun, relaxing stay at the Westin. Nicely tucked away on the island and about a 25min walk to St Regis Hotel. Plenty of natural wildlife in the area. Hotel check-in team and concierge team are attentive and helpful. We used the main pool and adult pool, as well as the lounges down at the beach. Inconsistency with hotel policy on a day to day/person to person basis. One day the ladies were able to use the pool towel to cover up when heading back to their room, as it was required when walking through the lobby. Next day, they were asked to return as it was OK and not considered disrespectful. Did not eat at the hotel, and explored Kuah town which had night markets for Ramadan. There is a large supermarket (called Billion dollar) for basic essentials, fruits/veg, snacks which is about a 20-25min walk. There are food & cafe options at Jetty Point, 15-20min walk. Hotel staff suggested using Grab (their Uber version) for cheaper taxi rates. Would stay again and perhaps avoid the Ramadan period, as most restaurants/stores are closed all day.
My husband and I booked a few nights at The Westin Langkawi after 10 days exploring other parts of Malaysia on a self-drive basis. We left our hire car at Penang International Airport and took a short flight to the island. This hotel was the perfect end to a glorious holiday. The food was fabulous (add on the breakfast it’s worth it), the facilities were excellent and the whole place had a good relaxed vibe so we felt very rested by the end of our stay. We used the gym which was well equipped and obviously we swam. The large infinity pool was quiet and was wonderful to swim in - it had the most wonderful view! Note that the sea is no good for swimming though as there is no depth! I would recommend taking a trip out if you want to swim in the sea - we went on a jet ski tour which was enjoyable if you like that kind of thing. The sunsets were pretty special here. Take a walk round the gardens at the end of the day and there’s plenty of wildlife to see (guaranteed I’d say). There were many Oriental Pied Hornbills (very cute) and we also spotted Bee-eaters, a Whistling Thrush, a pretty Pink-necked Green Pigeon and various other birds. There are troops of dusky leaf monkeys and long-tailed macaques around the gardens too. The beds were super comfy, we were upgraded to a garden view room and there was plenty of space. The room had a great shower but also a separate bath. Overall a fantastic hotel - it’s a long way to go but we could be tempted to return one day!
Two bedroom villa
Booked a one bedroom villa. Upon checkin, I was informed that one bedroom villas were not available and was upgraded to a two bedroom villa. However, the two bedroom villa was not directly facing the sea unlike the one bedroom villas which I had originally booked. Checkin staff did not take the initiative to keep our luggage and I had to ask the concierge myself. When the villa was finally ready, there were some problems with the villa 6009: - one of the bathtub sink stopper was not functioning. Called maintenance to fix it but to no avail - TV channels were not working - poor or weak signal. Only YouTube and Netflix were working - some of the wallpaper were peeling off - pool was in the process of being refilled There were some positive points: - the buggy service was prompt and arrived within 5 minutes of calling - buffet breakfast at Taste was sumptuous with a variety of Western, Malaysian and Japanese items to choose from In general, the Westin fell short of my expectations as a 5-star luxury resort for the price paid for the villa.
Nice property and I like the amenities
Great place for quiet and peaceful time. Place looks and feels a bit dated but the service, people, pool area and food is still fantastic! A great place to get away from busy city life.
Property agreed to a complimentary room upgrade (subject to availability upon checking in). Then upon checking in they refused and indicated that I need to pay extra. The property is outdated and in serious need of a revamp. For the prestigious name, it was very disappointing. There is much better value for money in langkhawi then this property.
Nice resort but it’s bit old, room was good
It was a relaxing atmosphere with very friendly staff and service.
perfect vaca-tropical atmosphere impeccable team of employees- warm, profesisonal attentive- end to end service. quintessential breakfast staple- nasi lemak ideal night therapy -in house entertainment - fuNkCoustics
Beautiful place machalla
Room kind of old. But overall everything is good!
Good
Beautiful property. Staff were great and even upgraded us to a villa. Only downside was the kids menu wasn't great for my fussy kids and it was the same in each restaurant. But beautiful hotel.
The hotel room is quite run down, aircon didn’t work because temperature was not controllable. Lighting control was badly designed, only for turning on & off.
please consider to provide shuttle service to restaurants and shops just outside the hotel. difficult to get grab to the hotel just to go to nearby shops.
Old hotel
Beautiful location and grounds. Amazing breakfast. Lovely staff
The monkeys being freely around.
Nice food and clean
The staff were great and got back to us on enquiries very quickly
Large swimming pool, clean private beach, very friendly staff.
I really enjoyed this hotel because there are nice pool and clean room and friendly staff. I recommend you this nice hotel.
April 2022
Location is beautiful, staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel has been neglected and not very clean. Rooms are disappointing and dated. Food variety is great but not up to standard
Overall a wonderful return to holiday mode
The resort itself is beautiful, food excellent and scenery amazing! The pool overlooking the sea with the swim up bar was so relaxing. The room itself needed an upgrade and the furnishings looked very worn down. The service for the meals was attentive and very accommodating however the front desk reception staff, need to anticipate their guests needs especially the needs of the post Covid tourist. We were having to do a lot of the research for testing and travel arrangements ourselves. It would be nice if the front desk staff could be more accommodating and attentive to these needs.
air conditioning and ceiling fans in the room. service (front desk) not the most knowledgeable
air conditioning and ceiling fans in the room. service (front desk) not the most knowledgeable sadly
Beautiful beachfront resort with great staff and facilities. Being able to go to the St Regis next door and especially its restaurant Kayuputi is a big plus too.
Awesome stay with wonderful environment
It was an awesome stay, love the breakfast buffet with varieties of choices. Room is spacious and clean, best of all is having a nice view balcony, comfortable and big king size bed. Love the overall environment with big garden and infinity swimming pool ! Definitely a good choice to come here again !
Short getaway
Beautiful resort. Very comfortable bed but my room has problem with toilet. It didnt flush due to mechanical problem on the last day of our stay. Lucky us
Resort is lovely. clean and tidy. Went during week, left on a Saturday and was noticeably busier. Easy walk to Kuah Jetty where we hired a car for the day. Staff were lovely and food delicious. Nice comfortable bed and room. Will definitely stay again.
Excellent Stay
Excellent customer service skills by all the the staff members. The cleaning staff was extremely accommodating
Short getaway
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westin Langkawi, our room was big and spacious, the infinity pool had amazing views of the sea and there was a long beautiful stretch of private beach. All in all had a wonderful time there.
It was disappointing, pictures of the room when I book was with a garden view, but what we got was a view of a concrete structure in front of us. Housekeeping only came to clean our room at around 4.30pm, the bed was sagging which cause severe back-ache for me and my wife for the three nights we stayed there. For the price we paid, we expected a bit more quality.
peaceful and cozy good place for relaxing
Relaxing Break
Lovely location set in secluded location, lovely room. Reccomendec
Good experience but not up to expectations
Good experience, not superb, we booked 3 rooms for 3 days 2 nights Checked in at 11.30, given the rooms at about 1.30 pm The facilities were good too, the swimming pools and gym, infinity pool needed some upgrading No free refreshments, no other free services Tv channels only a few, also not stable However, the beach was better, but a bit dirty Could improve more considering 5 star and high price
Place to just relax
Superb location of hotel with a great view of island is so relaxing. Staff are friendly and helpful. Though the beach is not great, the hotel ‘s swimming pools offer fun for family and there are quiet areas for couples to enjoy themselves
Amazing experience
I like the suspicious breakfast and nice room. And the staff are friendly and professional. I would stay again.
Good
Beautiful view and nice beach
Year end vacay
The check in was slow due to many guests were also checking in, however they gave us the room as soon as we're done with checking in at the counter. The room service was not done properly on the first day as they didn’t replesnish some of the toiletries and we had to call them to give us those. The facilities were good and breakfast was decent.
Amazing. The Heavenly bed is extremely comfy. You won't feel like getting out of the bed. Definitely will stay at Westin when i'm back!
The view from the pool is superb. World class. Also it’s very quiet. Our room had a few minor issues such as the doors were stiff.
beautiful surrounding. Excellent hospitality of the staffs. Food was excellent
An experience of a lifetime
Fantastic service with friendly staff. A fabulous experience for those whom want to experience the best of the best
Very good service but limited parking space. Hotel facilities are kinda old and dated need to have an update
I enjoyed my stay here. My go to hotel in Langkawi!
Nice getaway
The breakfast buffet was amazing as was the Thursday to Saturday evening buffet. Views are beautiful Sea otters were spotted one morning eating their freshly caught fish a meeter from ashore (amazing!), Monkeys roam as do beautiful tukan birds. The pool is huge for those who like to do laps (though the water is very warm) Beds were very comfortable For smokers only a few places and even fewer ashtrays. Maybe not located in the most interesting area of Langkawi It was pretty pretty empty so we would have appreciated an upgrade. Many staff were still in training. Beach has extremely shallow water
Beautiful resort. Very accommodating staff!
Great stay. The Indian chef was amazing and specially looked after us. The staff were very friendly,
A great place to stay and great service.
Been to Langkawi many times but our first stay at the Westin. Our room was upgraded to one with a balcony and this is important to note as the rooms without a balcony are on the rear side of the hotel and do not have a sea view. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were exceptional, always smiling and very helpful. The property overall was excellent and my only negative comment relates to the main swimming pool (1 of 4) and that is there are some quite sharp edges on the steps in the pool and some of which are chipped which are even sharper with the potential of causing cuts. something which should be addressed. Overall though highly recommended.

10 day stay
Fantastic pool, excellent view, staff super friendly, breakfast same every day no variety, food overpriced a bit isolated in its position, not much going on as downtown like a ghost town, hotel a bit tired and overpriced
