Love the fireplace and the view

Beautiful Ocean-View room, great desk service, very clean, perfect location, great parking, grocery store, restaurants nearby, walkable. Loved the room and the property, and the wonderful staff!

Super relaxing with a wonderful staff. Short walk (across the street) from a beach, park, restaurants, and grocery store, while still being close to HWY 101.

Hotel was nice and clean, great toiletries and comfy beds. Our room had an odd smell but it was clean. The staff was impeccable! Full of kindness and recommendations. The only food place in the immediate area was Mo’s which was ok. You’ll need to dine in town before 8 pm since everything closes around that time. There is a really good market across the street that has a little bit of everything, including medicine. As the closest stores will be in seaside I found. Eat at The Lazy Susan or Pig N Pancake for breakfast. If you’ve got neighbors above you be prepared to hear them stomp on the floors while they’re awake. That was my only real complaint was the noise of other hotel guests stomping all day long. Welling distance to cannon beach, safe, clean and beautiful views!

Very nicely remodeled a couple years ago, comfortable and spotless… good value in an expensive area.

Front Desk ( Great personality friendly and professional) this is number one for staying. Everything was great. Very clean rooms, building was very well kept landscape and parking too. Staff , house keeping , on top of there jobs. Be proud of this property.

Great stay. Room was clean and comfortable. View, fireplace, microwave, frig, coffee - what more could one want? Excellent location, nice people. We will definitely stay again.

Nicely located in a not so busy part of Canon beach but pretty close to the beach with ocean view from the rooms! Friendly staff, excellent service. Highly recommended for family!!

The "beach view" is across the street across a juge parking lot, pool & hot tub totally inconvenient in a different building. Bathroom was literally w/ toilet & tib 4ft by 4ft (tiny). No breakfast & unless you just want a place to sleep I dont recommend.

Have stayed here several times. Always a good experience. Had not noticed before that there is no A/C so hot summer months would not be comfortable.

Room a little small, would get a 1 bedroom suite next visit

Great ocean front accommodation with friendly welcome and cosy rooms. This is our first visit to the Oregon coast and we hope everywhere is as lovely as The Wayside Inn.

Greeted warmly upon arrival. Quiet location with ample parking. Wonderful shower. Room was clean & appreciated the fridge & microwave.

What a lovely little hotel, we had a sea view and slept to the sound of the sea! Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were lovely. The only thing it didn’t have was breakfast, but we knew this when we booked.

Lovely room with ocean view. Kept the balcony door open all night so we could hear the waves. The desk clerk, Erin, was so great - very nice and helpful.

A quick walk across the street to the beach. It had a convenient store next door and a great pizza place down the road as well.

The hotel is quiet, pretty, and friendly. They have lots of amenities for families, kids, and dogs and a wonderful view of the ocean. The front desk staff was lovely, too!!

It's right across the street from a main parking lot for the beach. Beach access to drive down to and Mo's right there. Very nice store next door. Firewood for sale at a great price at that store as well so you can have a fire on the beach. The beds are wonderful!! Comfortable, clean and nice bedding/pillows. A balcony to sit on from your room. Also, a small window to open if you would like a little fresh air. Easy to find and nice people at the front desk. Definitely would stay here again.

Great place on one end of cannon beach. Not fancy! But quiet, clean and steps away from The widest coast ever!! Gorgeous!

We loved our stay. The staff was so friendly. We enjoyed having a small table and chairs. The balcony was great. The salt water taffy from Bruce's Candy Kitchen was an added bonus.

Great place to stay

We really enjoyed our stay! It is on the quiet end of Cannon Beach but a very short drive to downtown. The staff was really friendly and the view was beautiful!

Staff was very friendly. They were cleaning outside every day. Room was clean and well stocked. The bed was really comfortable. I was on the 3rd floor- had a great view of the ocean.

My husband and I Loved watching the sunset from the front terrace! Conveniently close to diners. 3 mile drive to down town. Could walk to the hay stacks-3/4 of a mile down the beach. We had a wonderful stay!

On the whole this was a great choice for us and our dog. We stayed in late March and even though the hotel is right on the town's sea road, it was still quiet at night (this may be a different story in the summer of course). The room was quite comfortable, with the exception of the bathroom, which was so tiny that you have to wedge yourself between the bath and the toilet to close the door. And the tub seemed to have been designed by someone who had never used one - it was pretty uncomfortable for my 5'10" frame. The bathroom was also a little tired and dated looking and could do with a glow up. But the staff were very friendly, it was clean, there was a view of the ocean (albeit across the road and a parking lot), it was great to have a little kitchen in the room which meant we could make full meals there and the bed was super comfy. Would stay again!

It’s a cute location but felt very dirty in the rooms. Leftover hair was left in sink and shower.

Good hotel. Small rooms but it is clean and feel safe

Being able to walk to the beach and the grocery store from the hotel was very convenient. Everything was a 5 min drive away

Very dog-friendly

We wanted a dog-friendly motel at the beach for a rainy couple of days, and Wayside Inn filled the bill. Their pet basket contained sheets to cover both beds, a pet towel, treats and poop bags and our dog felt right at home. It's so nice to sit at the table and look out over the ocean, even if there's a parking lot in between the motel and the shore. Plus, chocolate chip cookies in the office!

Quick family trip

What a great location!! View of the ocean, playground across the street (which had some elk visiting), small market on the corner… room was simple and perfect. Coffee available all day and one of the days they had cookies at the check in. Rooms were clean and comfy.

The level of service is OUTSTANDING. I had 3 calls...yes a real person called me...to check on aspects of the reservation. Wonderful! I miss this level of service that used to be the norm. Bravo! (and the room was great, walked across the street for a walk on the beach, cocktails right there are sunset).

The hotel is a good choice if you want to stay in proximity of the beach. The building and the property feels a little dated. The property is located across the street from a public parking lot that has beach access and a restaurant. Good ocean views from the room if you are on the top floor though building does not have elevator. Room was clean with decent amenities. It feels a bit dated but you're mostly paying for the view.

Wayside Inn Cannon Beach Oregon

This is a very nice hotel (wish it had an elevator). We had a wonderful quiet weekend and enjoyed Cannon Beach.

Will absolutely stay here again.

Room listed as "suite", was not in any way a suite. One room, half bath, sink in main room. Refrigerator was 1 cubic foot and never got cold. Balcony with zero privacy, could see right in to neighboring room/bed. Power outage in middle of the night, never went back on. At least go buy some coffee for us, nope. Paid full price too.

Highly recommend Wayside Inn

The staff at Wayside Inn were incredibly mice and accomodating. The hotel is pet friendly and in fact provides a "welcome basket" & list of pet friendly restaurants. The inn is directly across from the Beach public access. The views are wonderful. One thing to know is that there are no elevators so take that into consideration when booking. Our 1st floor room was wonderful and we still had a wonderful view of the beach. Cannot say enough good things about the place.

This appears to be an older property, but that is what we liked about it. The room was cozy, a complete kitchen, and hot water that came on almost instantly were especially appreciated. We encountered three staff members, all of whom were pleasant and helpful. We would gladly go back on a future trip.

Great location. Across from beach and ocean. Haystack Rock a short walk up beach. Grocery store scross the street. Bought gourmet soups, caesar salad kit, took back to our room ate while we watched the sunset over the ocean.

Railings on both sides of stairwells would make it easy for those of us that have mobility issues.

The employees and management were very accommodating and went above and beyond to satisfy our needs.

This property was very nice and very dog friendly. Details were great. The room was extremely comfortable and our view was fantastic. However, there is no elevator, which was not stated in the listing. I was not able to carry my suitcase of three flights of stairs, which was very inconvenient. We also had an elderly 70 pound dog that had issues with the stairs as well. And there was no rooms available on the first floor nor was help offered. I would recommend this property as long as you pack light and have younger dogs!

Getaway

Nice comfortable room. Beds were smaller than a queen. But comfortable. The elk were all over the place. Neat to see them.

The stay was amazing. Very clean room, well equipped kitchenette with a full stove, fridge, microwave, sink, and even a dishwasher. Very welcoming to dogs and so close to the ocean.

Winter Getaway

Experience was wonderful. Extremely quaint room with a fire place and ocean view. Hot tub and pool well maintained. Perfect time of year if you just want to get away with minimal people around.

Cosy, clean, well-appointed rooms across from the seashore, welcoming staff, lovely view. Would come back in a heartbeat next time driving this gorgeous coast.

The location was perfect. It wasn’t right on the beach, but was close enough for us. Right across from access to the haystack rock and some dining spots. The staff was super friendly and gave great recommendations for places to eat and things to see.

Clean room, beautiful view, easy access to beach. Really nice check in clerk. Plus there are restaurants and a grocery store that are easy to walk to. The balcony was nice but not private so as long as we were the only ones out there, it wasn't awkward. I would definitely return for a beach vacation in the future!

Very pleasant experience in checking in by a friendly front desk staff. Stayed 2 nights. Overall, a pleasant experience, although other than kind bars and coffee in reception area, breakfast was non-existent. On the Check in day, there were free cookies which were much appreciated. No coffee in the room though there was a coffee make and tea. Was provided coffee upon request. Mo's seafood diner across from the street - a walking distance on the beach. 2 QB Room on third floor was clean, pleasant and ocean facing - across from the parking lot but good view of the ocean - A huge plus but the place needs updating. Fireplace in the room was great and much appreciated given that it was pacific northwest spring (meaning cold, windy and wet). Note for those with disabilities, there is no elevator and you have climb the stairs. Traveled with elderly parent with so that was small discomfort in climbing stairs and care had to be taken to make sure to avoid multiple trips to room. A bit pricy for what it is but will be back since it was a good experience overall.

Supplies for my pup were excellent! Room was very nice and comfortable. Beach access was close and very close to groceries.

Finding pet friendly and pet comfortable accommodations is hard enough let alone finding some that don't charge a fee equal to the cost of the room itself, i.e. Super 8. Somehow when I booked, the fact that I had a pet did not come across in the booking. The management was very accommodating and happened to have a first floor room available which is very handy for potty breaks. It's obvious that the owners also have pets and understand how those of us who do function. What a lovely surprise to find a basket that not only had treats and bowls but also sheets to the cover the primary bedding to prevent marking fro muddy and sandy footprints. Genius! The staff is wecoming and friendly. Oh and the beach and haystack rock is right across the parkinglot.

Anniversary Stay

We were greeted with a very friendly hostess and taken care of quickly with our room keys & doggy basket. Unfortunately it was a very rainy weekend and had neighbors that were very loud, but the room & premises were very comfortable.
