Awesome views, great facilities, great room quality, very helpful and friendly staff
Nice location
This was our second stay in the hotel, it was equally as good as the first. The bedrooms are spacious and very clean, breakfast is excellent with lots of choice and the staff were all very attentive.
Not what it claims to be, huge disappointment
Unfortunately this was a disappointment. The staff especially on reception and assistant manager was quite frankly rude with conflicting information. It claimed its adults only, but there was many groups of teenagers staying there. Plus again allowing people to smoke when they say its smoke free.
Had an amazing stay ! Very nice place in Funchal. Thanks
Amazing experience! Hotel clean and secluded, yet very close from downtown Funchal.
Great place. Excellent breakfast. Great amenities especially after hiking. Loved the ocean view. Only minor issue is that you are only given 1 key for your room…but that was workable.
Great location, bc it close to everything. There's a trail from the hotel that leads down into the town. Clean room, balcony isn't that big but I didn't spend much time in my room. So it wasn't a deal breaker. I took a star away bc there are no irons in the room. Staff told me there is a room to iron your clothes on the 3rd floor. That's an inconvenience and kind of weird for me. The food was good and fresh, and there was an assortment to choose from. Overall I'd go back again.
We had a lovely stay at The Views Bai hotel. We had a deluxe Mountain View suite which was great, champagne and treats on arrival, great room amenities, two loos, large shower with stunning views, lovely comfy balcony, mini kitchen with smeg coffee machine and comfy super king bed with great aircon. Also, money off spa and all food and drink and also special tables and service at breakfast. We loved it! The hotel is in a quiet location, easy to catch cheap taxis (we used Bolt which was cheap and plentiful) or walk into Funchal. Great views with a banana and mango tree outside! Staff on the whole really friendly and helpful. A few niggly things… we selected our room to be cleaned every day (you decide on arrival and if you don’t have a clean they deduct €3 pd from your bill). But cleaning, making bed, towel changes were very hit and miss, half the week our bed wasn’t made. One day it hadn’t been cleaned at all, which once phoned was rectified immediately. Not a major issue and we did inform the hotel. Also we didn’t really enjoy the cocktail bar as each day they had entertainment which was loud (so hard to talk) and I think though talented musicians were catering for the much older crowd…chilled/lounge music DJs would be good.. due to the hotels varied age groups.. I used the spa which was nice, I had a great massage but very weak facial. Gym was quite small but decent equipment! Overall we loved Madeira and would return to the hotel and would recommend!
Literally perfect in every single way, super clean, rooms were really spacious and so many great restaurants all walking distance away. Only complaint was parking/driving into the hotel premises. Parking fills up fast and trying to figure out how to get into the lot is a whole ordeal but this should not steer you away from booking. Highly recommend!
Great stay.
It was overall an amazing experience. Will be my go to hotel for future trips to Madeira!
20mins from old town. Staff were very helpful. Clean. Nice pool with great views. Decent food. Parking.
Amazing stay, we will be back! Lovely staff, lovely hotel, lovely experience 😊
Absolutely incredible property. The views, The rooms, The food and drinks, The pool, gym and full service spa. Can’t wait to come back to Madeira and stay at The Views Baia!
We really enjoyed our stay here! The spa was the highlight of this hotel and the breakfast. The staff in the restaurant was so attentive, the food was great quality and the views were stunning.
The view is simply stunning. The staff was friendly and helpful and, dispute being full, the property was really quiet. The food onsite is excellent and our stay was too short!
Hotel is situated within walking distance from Funchal city centre. Be aware that it is on a hill with quite a steep incline. Great amenities - indoor and outdoor pool, spa, gym, tennis court and pool table. Great restaurant with amazing food. Very helpful and polite staff. Hotel was very tidy and clean. Would love to go back.
Awesome hotel stay with amazing views!
By far one of our best hotels. Wonderful view of Funchal. Great reception. Comfortable beds and choice of pillows. Nice breakfast. We were disappointed they could not get a massage for days after our hike and their nice restaurant on top was booked out for days
Wonderful place to relax and getaway. It is a 10 minute walk to Old Town (just be mindful the return trip is steep uphill). The pool, spa, and restaurants are fantastic and the staff were so kind and helpful.
A wonderful option with beautiful views, a great pool, wonderful breakfast, and overall a lovely space. We have booked again in August and look forward to the same inpeccable service.
My week at this hotel was perfect! Staff were friendly, especially Bruno who made my last night memorable. The pool/spa is amazing to relax after a morning of hiking. Highly recommend staying here!
Wonderful view, lovely suite. Great pools and yummy buffet breakfasts!
Five star hotel but you have to tell to clean the room everyday. Also no irons in the room? You have to make your way to an ironing room to iron your clothes. Breakfast was okay nothing special. Hotel was overpriced for what we got.
Stay at View
Great stay and breakfast was amazing.
It was all good.
Would stay again
Loved it. Great location. Great amenities and great service. Fantastic buffet at reasonable price. Average €32
Beautiful room, outstanding views, and an excellent staff made this an unbelievable experience
Views are terrific. Could use a moderately priced restaurant in the evenings in lieu of the buffet at night or along with the buffet. A coffee type cafe. Wish the shuttle to Funchal ran more regularly throughout the day and early evenings especially back from Funchal up the hill. Enjoyed the shuttle amenity. Pool could stay open until 10:00 pm. for use. Lovely and comfortable rooms. Friendly staff.
Stunning view. Loads of different areas to relax on the & terraces. Awesome breakfast. Good sized room with a lovely mountain view.
This was a last minute stay for us. It was a lovely find on our travels. The spa and pool areas are comfortable and a nice treat. The view from our room was super, bed comfort and room very quiet. We would happily return!
This place was amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful, they truly made our experience in Funchal wonderful.
Hotel is excellent.
Excellent stay. Comfortable beds, impressive breakfast and great views. Staff was very friendly
Nothing to fault. Excellent stay, very helpful staff, immaculate rooms, and great facilities. Just a short walk into Funchal, and free parking.
Stunning views of Funchal and easily walkable around the city. Very comfortable stay.
Great stay at the Views! Wonderful facility, walkable to main destinations in Funchal, good food.
Great customer service.
Got our room cleaned in time for us to check in early and upgraded us to a higher price room on our arrival as well. A bit disappointed to find out we couldn't get food after 9pm but that was our fault for not checking before we went down into the town.
Beautiful views. Nice morning buffet. Staff was very helpful other than the rude blonde lady in coktail bar. Walk into town wasn't far but it was steep. Need a different dinner option than the buffet. Fortunately room service and pool bar had good food.
The views were gorgeous and the breakfast buffet was delicious!
The property was very comfortable with good facilities and provided nice meals / breakfast etc. The Spa and pool facilities were useful and there was plenty of space in which to relax. The hotel was also convenient for the Old town and buses etc.
I was disappointed with my stay. Staff were nice. But a few things were unacceptable. The main one being that everytime cleaning would happen, room service stuff wouldn't be cleared away. So I got food smells. No do not disturb sign in my room until last day. No dressing gown but everyone else had one. When room service arrived, no salt, pepper or basic sauces given. Bus timetable I was given said no weekend service but then I later found out there was a weekend bus service. The 5.00 charge to use the spa when staying at hotel isn't fair. Sauna broken. The towel system of paying 1.00 for a new towel is very unhygienic. The jacuzzi and pool were cold! So not enjoyable
Staff were very accommodating and informative. we like the evening music performance.
Great service, clean rooms, and beautiful accommodations.
great place to stay. indoor pool was amazing along with steam rooms and saunas along with i e and four season showers. stations in pool that worked provided bubble massages. only down point was they needed more staff in dining room and some were not nice to deal with.
Everything was excellent. It’s a fab hotel with spectacular views
Great 4 night stay
The hotel is simply amazing. We had a deluxe room on a high floor with a gorgeous view, amazing bathroom and lovely extras like chocolates and Madeira wine. The staff were polite and friendly and the indoor pool and spa facilities were top notch and immaculately clean. The outdoor pool area and bar is also amazing but the weather for us made the indoor one more appealing. It’s 15 mins walk away into the main part of Funchal and with steep incline could be difficult for some but we used it as a bit of fitness after food !!. All in all, a great hotel in a convenient location with all the facilities you could want.
The hotel was spotless , all the staff and cleaning lady’s were so helpful and happy , they couldn’t do enough for you , they made you feel very comfortable
This is a very modern and clean hotel with amazing views and a good buffet breakfast. Front desk is very attentive. Room service could be better, especially the service.
Uncomfortable sofabed
It’s a nice hotel but the room is a bit old but spacious. The hotel is within a walking distance to the city center. Overall, its a nice hotel with a good breakfast.
Clean comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Bar, pool and dining all on-site. Hotel is situated about a 15-20 minute walk from the town centre. Would certainly book again if we return to Madeira.
Had an amazing stay at four views hotel. Lovely staff, clean and beautiful interior, great breakfast. Absolutely impressed. Will definitely come back ❤️
Nice hotel but noisy room
Built-in radio in the shower room would turn on suddenly every night (before the 4th night I asked again and the radio was disconnected by maintenance staff). Loud noise and drilling vibrations from building works on the top of the building in the evenings, hammering from 8 am on the weekend. Last night noise from inside the ventilation system in our room. Positive is that I was offered a room at a lower floor on Friday during the day so I could work until 5pm and we were offered a different room to sleep the last night. I had specifically requested a quiet room at the time of booking and I wasn't made aware of the building work situation, so this noise was uncomfortable and disappointed. I'd come back once building works have finished and if I can be assured there will no be noise at night.
Friends in Paradise
Great Hotel....Very friendly and professional staff...The view from the breakfast area is unparalleled... elevators are a bit slow
Beautiful hotel with great staff, great food and great amenities
All fine apart from unresolved issue of no air conditioning available as described. Led to very warm afternoons and nights.
Generally nice hotel with friendly staff. Great breakfast buffet and sea views from the room. A couple of annoying niggles though. The shower went from hot to cold when we used it at busy times. Also you often had to wait a long time to get in the lift at busy times. Finally a piece of plaster just randomly fell down from beneath our sink on the last day.
Clean, quiet and excellent views
The staff were very friendly and approachable, the hotel was in good condition being recently renovated. The room was what would expect but nothing special for a 4 star hotel. Pool area was great, with availability for food and drink right next to it. The only disappointing aspect was the very poor quality of the coffee available at breakfast. Also wouldn't be able to have a decent cup (even for purchase) until 10am when the pool bar opens. It was not a deal breaker and still overall happy with the stay but the day could have started better ;-)
A good hotel - I'd stay again.
The hotel is in a good location with free parking and easy walk into Funchal - marina area and old town. The room was spacious and clean. The rate included breakfast. There was a decent selection of food and it was good BUT the hotel lets itself down by serving horrible instant coffee with powdered milk from self-service vending machines. Do get bean to cup machines and use real milk rather than let Mr CostCutter undermine standards with a bad coffee offering.
Super friendly staff
I really loved this hotel, the staff is simply amazing! Will come back for sure.
No fault at all walking to centre of Funchal 7 minutes if you don’t fancy walking there is a shuttle mini bus
Great hotel, beautiful views!
This was a great hotel. We liked that it was close to Funchal and not in the Lido resort area because it felt more authentic and not as touristy. Yes, there is a hill to walk back up to the hotel from Funchal but it is not bad and we walked it every day but in the event that someone doesn't want to walk up the hill, there are shuttle buses. The place was clean and the pool area was nice with gorgeous views plus the price was extremely reasonable. Would definitely stay here again!
Definitely would stay there again.
Really lovely hotel. Good breakfast and facilities. Good location.
Would have been nice if they were honest
Got off on the wrong foot, because charming receptionist told us there was a problem with our room -no sea view asbooked- but only AFTER taking full payment. They gave us free dinner and drinks in compensation, but there was no choice, e.g. Of a discount instead, and the buffet style dinners weren't great. However, the room was good, and the mountain view is pretty spectacular. We also enjoyed being in the city itself for a few nights, rather than the crowded hotel Lido area, but one downside is that it's a steep walk up here.
Four Views Baia
Great hotel. Wonderful views. Very comfortable.
Good hotel, great views.
The staff were great, all spoke good English and several other languages. Very helpful and sorted out any problems straight away. The room was large, clean and comfortable. It had a fridge and tea making facilities but bring your own tea/milk as only provided as a welcome and not refilled. If you drink the bottled water it will be charged to your room and will be replaced. 11 storeys high so views over Funchal are excellent. Good spa although a couple of the water features didn't work when we were there. Loved the water bucket and cold jet spray but prefer my jacuzzi a bit warmer. Plenty of sunbeds around pool although I expect when the weather is better that may not be the case. Pool bar serves an excellent lunch. Huge choice for breakfast, mostly good but the hot food was not of a great standard, bit too greasy for my taste and often not very hot. Best thing was an omelette cooked to order so piping hot and with choice of fillings, also sparkling wine available everyday with breakfast. Buffet style so can get a bit busy but always somewhere to sit. Tables cleared and reset quickly. We went early to avoid the rush. The lifts are hopeless, very slow and sometimes they just seem to vanish. Certain lifts only access certain parts of the hotel so you need to know where you are going. Finding the sun terrace is the trickiest which may explain why we rarely saw anyone on it! 25 minute walk from Funchal cathedral and uphill all the way back so you need to be fit.
Very good hotel, breakfast was amazing
I would next time choose a room with Sea view, as I chose mountain view and I saw no mountains only a garden of the hotel/apartment next door
Wow
Amazing setting, stunning location and hotel. Staff great, food very good, breakfast and dinner. Room great comfortable, imagine rooms facing the sea are fantastic. Beautiful hotel
Lovely hotel, poor pedestrian access
Four Views Baia is a lovely, quiet, clean hotel situated at the top of a pretty busy dual carriageway. The hotel itself is great, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was good, the pool area was quiet and relaxing and there are plenty of sunbeds. However... pedestrian access to the hotel seems to be a bit of an afterthought. It is only a 10/15 minute walk to the old town which is great (if you don't mind crossing the busy road several times to follow the pavement), however to walk to the new town where all the restaurants are, we found ourselves wandering random backstreets with busy traffic and blindly following iPhone maps to find the right bit. So... would highly recommend budgeting 15 euros a day for taxis (which the receptionists were more than happy to order) IF you plan on eating out every night. Otherwise, would highly recommend this hotel.
Nice hotel
Good sized room, but could have done with a couple of chairs rather than a low lounger (extra sleeper?). 20 euros for key to in room safe and free tea and coffee for the first night only seemed a bit mean. Breakfast was very good, and guests were all seen taking tea bags away for the room. Good location near the old town, with great views but a long steep hill from town should be taken into consideration before booking.
Excellent choice, if you want this location
Well run fairly new hotel with good facilities and excellent views from both sides. Convenient for town centre (10-15 min walk). Location overlooks a fairly busy main road; although there is no noise disturbance within the building, you would notice it by the outdoor pool. Hard to find when driving from the airport. Exit the Expressway at junction 9 and follow signs to Hospital. At first roundabout (near hospital) take third exit. Hotel is about 800m along (and above) the road on left side, on a bend; you may overshoot and have to turn round !
The view's worth everything.
This is a tourist hotel with amazing views over Funchal. A modern hotel, set on a hill. Breakfast & dinner were excellent. Staff helpful and position was worth the walks back and forth into the town.
superb view
superior room with excelent view to the sea and harbor, sunrise through side window inspiring, staff very helpfull, breakfast perfect. twenty minutes walk to center of town.
beautiful hotel
We enjoyed our stay here.. The rooms were clean, modern and just what we needed for our 5 day break. All the staff were very friendly and polite. They were genuinely happy to help and we felt like their guests. The views from all angles are stunning. It is a bit of a walk to the old town but we were advised of this before we came. It would be nice to have the option of a double bed too. The only thing that really let's the hotel down is the hot breakfast options. Not very appealing and gave us both upset tummy. We were fine when we stuck to cereals and pastries. This and the WiFi is not always available and we never had WiFi in the room as advertised.
Nice hotel
The room was nice with a great patio looking over the harbor. The indoor pool, sauna, steam bath, and hot tub were in the spa and cost an additional 5€ per day per person. They were very nice though. Food at the pool side restaurant was quite good. Free LAN Internet with a deposit for the cable was great.
Amazing Views Of Funchal And The Sea
We loved the floor to ceiling windows that afforded us incredible view over the city and out to the sea. I loved watching the cruise ships arrive and depart, especially when it happened at sunrise or sunset. The hotel is not an easy walk uphill but there is a free shuttle bus to the city center for those who aren't up to the challenge. If you are walking, it's necessary to leave through the back of the hotel, through the parking lot, in order to get to the street to descend into the city. On our last day, we booked the shuttle bus to take us back up to the hotel, but it never arrived so we had to take a taxi. I doubt this happens often, it was low season and there wasn't much demand for the shuttle. It was probably a miscommunication. This was our only problem at the hotel. All else went well, the breakfasts were very good, though the coffee in the machines was disappointing.
Newly refurbished
Newly refurbished hotel in a good location for the main attractions of the town. Good reasonably priced restaurants 10 mins walk away. However be prepared for the uphill walk back. Hotel provides a courtesy bus service and local buses pass by.
Bin mega begeistert !
The View really provides you with unforgettable view! The rooms are conveniently furnished, the pools and gym are impeccable. The food is a bit dull, hotel standard ( I did not have the means to test the Michelin star reytaurant!)
We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The views are truly breathtaking, the staff is very helpful and friendly and the hotel is very clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed the pool area, it had plenty of seating space and a small restaurant which was very convenient.
We spent 10 days at The Views Baia Hotel at the end of July 2024. We had a very nice superior twin room with sea view on the 8th floor. The hotel made a modern impression overall and the staff were friendly at all times. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The daily fresh fruit in particular upgraded the breakfast. The only real negative point is the very noisy streets in front of the door, which are still relatively busy both during the day and at night. You have to be aware of this if you want to relax at the outside pool. The city center can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes downhill and from the city center back to the hotel in at least 15 minutes. In any case, I can only recommend this great island!!!
Great stay!
The hotel was very comfortable, the breakfast was absolutely amazing, the views were great, the service was very friendly and prompt and the room was very clean.
Everything was perfect
Fantastisch hotel en uitstekende service! De moeite waard!
Bien
Amazing stay
We had a lovely time at the views Baia. The breakfast was delicious, a great spa og a Nice view from the pool. Seviceminded staff that seemed happy and to like their job. Nothing bad to say, we would love to come back.
Flott hotell!
Great location - 10 min walk to the city centre. Outdoor pool and indoor pool, great breakfast. Bathrobes and slippers were not in the room. Shower very small.

Nice hotel if you go for the pricier rooms
Make sure to upgrade to the pricier rooms, definitely worth it. Otherwise go elsewhere
