Great real estate with poor facility
very good food and bar but terrible service. rooms are moldy with locked windows. position of the hotel is perfect.
We wanted to give the highest rating for this hotel but there were a few issues that must be mentioned. The bathroom was our biggest disappointment. It was just tiny and the least resort-like feature. Although very stylish in design, the basin was very narrow with no space for toiletries, and the faucet willingly shoots past the front of bowl if opened fully (and does so rather easily). The other bathroom issue is the step up - I stubbed my toe a couple of times during our stay. One more issue is the hot water in the shower. I am guessing the hot and cold are reversed. If the knob is turned all the way to hot, it never gets hot. Moving back to cold eventually brings plenty of hot water. The other issues are lack of parking and construction all around. Now the good. The staff were all friendly and helpful and on duty around the clock. The property is right on the beach and hosts a wonderful Sunday drag brunch. Best of all, we were within walking distance of tons of stuff. It took about an hour to get to the cathedral on old San Juan, and only 15 minutes to La Placita market and our favorite restaurant, Alcapurrias Quemá.
Service was great!
Excellent place to enjoy
Wonderful restaurant/bar with a knowledgeable staff.
Close ro beach.very. view awsome need more eating area
Beach was so close. The staff was very kind and it was beautiful. The room was very small, but there wasn't a reason to stay in there when the beach was right there.
They alright.
Quick Trip at perfect Spot
Amazing service and great location
The description of the hotel facilities and amenities are not real. We checked early and booked other hotel.
The scenery was beautiful. I loved that the hotel was right next to the beach. The restaurants were walking distance and the customer service was great. I didn’t enjoy the fact that my room was located right next to the lounge area though. It was very nosey at night. Also I felt like someone can see inside of my room from the outside
A good place to stay
The room is not only Oceanview. It’s a basically bar view too! so it’s no quiet time at night. If you looking for relaxing vacation better look to another place to stay.
Great location right on the beach. Only bad side is you can hear everything in the hallways due to the doors or walls being thin. Front desk night guy was amazing great hospitality.
No parking, but great hotel.
The staff were awesome. They went above and beyond without being asked. The room was slightly smaller than I’m used to but it met our needs. Only issue was, no parking garage. I had to park several blocks away. Overnight parking from 8 PM to 9 AM was $55. Leaving it there a day and a half as family drive us around was $111. Other than parking, the hotel met every other need.
Friendly staff! Wonderful beachfront!
This was exactly what I needed. Great location, it was clean and right on the beach. Loved it.
The staff was reliable and really looked out for me during my stay. The food and location was great!
Great place
Amazing beach front veiw and access to the beach.I love the fact everything was walking distance the casino, restaurants and shops etc.Great place to stay.
The hotel and staff were exceptional.
Everything is right there you can even walk to the clubs it’s about 15 min walk. Literally on the beach but you can’t really swim in the beach to many waves but if you can swim in wave you good fun time loved the brunch and the drinks 💕
I have stayed here a few times. Staff amazing. Rooms very clean. No swimming pool. Beach chairs need updating. Not kid friendly. Seems like it has become a male gay spot.
The property was lovely, and right on the beach. Spacious room with a fridge. It would have been really helpful to know in advance that they provided beach towels. The constant availability of bottled water (included in the check-in fee) was very much appreciated. Good wi-fi strength. Majority of staff very helpful and friendly. When it rains, there is no communal area to sit it and you can't get to the bar or dine without getting wet.
The rooms were so small that a suitcase did not fit. There was no hot water or working safe. The phone and tv did not work. The bathroom was very small.
It was a good stay and would return
To start the staff was excellent there for you if need you feel welcomed & present when i come to puerto rico again i will definitely stay at the tryst. The 1 bedroom i stayed in was clean & cozy perfect size to mostly sleep recollect yourself than head out to enjoy your day the condado beach is right there for pleasure also there is a 24 hour gym with some good equipment seated calf raise dumbells up to 70 pounds & all 3 compound movement racks so if your worried about losing fitness no need to panic.
Beauty place
Amazing service all around.
Small room , bathroom sink area was way too small , wall against wall could bare fit to wash face .
Great Location, beautiful area but no parking
You should always greet your customers with welcome and thankyou for staying with us and not in a text later on. Hidden destinations fees should be disclosed when booking. And not when you get there and the front desk person tells you I don’t know if you know but there is a $30 a day destination fee . Rooms should not be cleaned late in the afternoon. Beach chairs were so gross we left the hotel and rented at a nearby hotel.
It was great , close to everything. Property need a better upkeep
Refund me please
Could not access two of the four rooms waiting for a refund
The place is safe
They were really great place definitely comong back here
The Tryst Hotel was dirty, the beautiful ocean view was through a filthy window! They lost power...ok it happens but no back up generator. We will not recommend the Tryst Hotel to anyone. Oh, we also made a reservation for a king size but we got into the room we noticed it was a queen size bed, when we brought it to the front desk attention they said take it up with Exfinity. Yeah thank for for accommodating us!
Best little beachfront hotel 🌴
I love everything about this place. Friendly staff, delicious food and cocktails and the best view of the beach.
Right on the beach, breathtaking views, friendly people, convenient.
Great hotel, clean, walkable to restaurants, casino, shops and kayaking. Gabriel was amazing, friendly and very knowledgeable.
Perfect location with plenty to do.
It was all perfect
It was a great stay, the place was always clean, the patio was great.
Beach front but too noisy
I loved the beachfront but the hotel was not the greatest, small room, smaller bathroom, not the best furniture and there was a major power outages during our stay
The staff was great, rooms are small but updated and clean, However, There is construction going on in both buildings on either side of the hotel which is a bit unsightly if you are wanting a perfect 360 view. Overall for the price per night it was a beautiful ocean view and great restaurant menu
Excellent place.
Great spot... that simple, clean, good service, walkable to a lot of locations, food, bars, stores. Can't beat the ocean front!
I had an excellent experience at the hotel, the staff were very accommodating and the view from room was amazing! Kudos to the gentleman who checked me in late as my flight was severely delayed his name starts with a D but i forgot what it was; nonetheless he was a big reason for my great experience!
The view was gorgeous!! The place is right in front of a beautiful beach! The room was cozy and clean! And the staff were very welcoming and helpful!! (^_^)
There is a lot of construction around the area. Very noisy
Love this hotel and will forever be my go-to when in Puerto Rico. An incredible experience with the friendliest staff, great drinks and just an incredible view of the beach. This place is awesome!
This property cancelled my reservation, claiming that there was no availability. However they did not provide a refund for the booked stay. This property was booked via Orbitz and Orbitz has not been able to reach out to the hotel to resolve the issue. I have made multiple calls and no one answers the phone. Suggest not booking the property at all.
Great staff and easy checkin and out
Overpriced given current situation and issues.
Booked this hotel for a one night stay as we headed to the other side of the island. No parking for hotel, must pay for a parking lot, $25 a day. The receptionist was very kind, helpful, and friendly throughout our stay. Be warned, as she warned us, this beach in front of the hotel is NOT safe for swimming, even if you see people in the water. Many drownings each month here. We knew the hotel was under construction, expected some noise. Our first room the water did not work. The room was fairly dirty, floors did not seem swept. Would not recommend these rooms if you have small children due to the hanging lights that are extremely hot, accidentally burnt my arm. Our next room had running water, but the electricity soon shut off the next morning for an extended amount of time. We are use to budget hotels as we travel frequently and value experienced over luxury, but this was very overpriced considering the problems. Hopefully in the future their renovations will pay off and maybe they will make their rates more reasonable during this rough patch.
Will stay with in the near future
I love this place !
Love this hotel. This our 2nd time staying here. I booked a non ocean view because, we only stayed 2 nights. I just didnt agree on a small sink in our room. No room to extend your hand/arm to brush your teeth. Tryst should change and get a longer sink. Overall I will stay again with the Ocean view.
Loved this hotel so much! Will definitely be coming back! We enjoyed our stay!
Excellent Beach Stay
This was a good place to be. It was right by the beach & it was a nice stay
Nice and good beach view
I truly enjoyed myself, loved being right on the beach. One problem we had was no hot water our whole trip. That hurt a lil bit, but we made it work.
Hotel it's self was nice great beach and views only thing we didn't like the loud music they played all day till late night, after complaining 3 times up to 10.30 pm they finally turned it off.
Hot water was not working in my room and they refused to give me another room. The response from the hotel and Expedia was pathetic.
No parking available. Needed to park away from hotel and need to pay extra expenses which there is another fee the hotel changes on top off the price we already paid.
Excellent Customer Service!! No coffee makers in rooms
The property is located on the beach and convenient within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Construction next to my room on top of being next to all the air conditioning units outside my window. I was sent an email to check in online and spent my time doing so, entering credit card infos etc but when I arrived, the hotel clerk refused to check me in until I gave him my ID and CC which I already submitted online. He took a Photocopy of my card and DL which I was not happy about because my informations are now exposed to anyone who has access to the copy machine. I had to cancel my credit card as soon as I got home to prevent unauthorized use. I would stay again at that Hotel but I won't because of these issues. I would have to cancel my CC after every stay plus they charged me a resort fee of $34 instead of the $29 listed on the website.
This could so easily be so much better…ugh
Well, one of the reasons we chose this property was that their description said that parking was available. When we got there they said they had no parking and that the site had not had dedicated parking for 3 to 4 years!!! The room was small but adequate. Unfortunately, every time the air conditioner kicked on it woke us up because it sounded like a jet engine starting. And then there was someone in the hallway pounding on doors and screaming in the middle of the night. Other than all that…
Great stay here. Will be back.
I was here for a four day stay. The staff was friendly and provided good service. Very disappointed with the management. Upon checking in, i was billed a $126 "destination fee" that my friends were not billed. When I inquired , I was informed it was because I made my reservation with Hotel.com. He said my friends paid when they checked in. We traveled together, we made our reservations together prior to coming here and I checked with them to checj their credit card account. They were not billed the fee. Then, I had no hot water for my entire stay. Again, I inquired. The second time I inquired I was informed it was a known issue for my room. The third time I inquired which was the day before we were leaving, I was offered to take a shower in another room. Other words, I would need to take my things to another room to shower, and then go back to my original room.
Not a good experience at all, noisy, dirty, staff at desk charged me double and made it very difficult to get that raefund making me come back to to hotel two days later and paying only cash. They did not even offer a free drink as compensation.
Very helpful, friendly staff, the room and hotel area very clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were great! Beautiful ocean views! Lovely location! We would stay here again. Thank you!
Great Location, Beach Front
Great Location in Condado
I stayed here years ago when it was called the Atlantic Beach Hotel, and this is such an improvement! Nicely redone and still with the perfect location right on Condado Beach. The Sunday drag bunch is a hoot, by the way!
The location is a great spot in Condado Beach area. Hotel was ongoing renovations so hopefully it will be better in the future. No hot water and very limited parking that was al taken by the construction crew. Not a place that I will stay again
It was dirty in renovation 😢
The property is undergoing a major construction / rehab project that will take an alleged 5 years to complete. I woke up to the sound of hammering at 6:30AM. My shower drain was severely clogged and dirty. The bathroom window was not prepped for the construction project. My girlfriend ran out of the bathroom after seeing someone on a scaffold near bathroom window which is allegedly tinted from the outside. When I tried to check out early and find another hotel, I was told because I booked through a third party they would not reimburse me for the nights i did not want to stay. The only thing they would reimburse were the “junk resort/destination fees”. Last but not least, my girlfriend came back from vacation with what appears to be bed bugs. We initially thought it was mosquito bites but the bites are in a straight line down her legs which is more indicative of bed bugs. Needless to say, I would not stay here again.
Perfect place, view, room was clean.
Nice place for a quick stay next to the beach
Its at a great location in Condado, but super low water pressure and no hot water for your shower. If you can forgive that, then there's no reason not to stay here
It was great. Amanda the bar-tender was magnificent.
No hot water. No curtains in the bathroom. The toilet seat cover did not stay up. The phone did not work. The internet was slow. Lights went out several times. Parking not included.
I booked this hotel because it listed a pool and on site parking. This hotel has neither. I rented a car because of the listed on site parking. There was no where to park near the hotel and to spend an hour driving around waiting for an off site parking lot to free up a spot. This cost me an additional $50. When I brought this to the attention of the girl at the front desk, she said, "You booked this through a third party booking agency and they have no control over that they advertise about the hotel.' I told her you choose to use them to advertise your hotel, you owe your customers the truth prior to booking. Needless to say, she was no help in the matter. Every other employee that we interacted with was gracious, accommodating and friendly. She was the only negative part about our stay.
The front dekl staff was not friendly. They were not rude, just not friendly. Our room hot water never got hot. When called down stairs, the girl just told me "you can't turn the water on all the way, leave it about half way" we did this, still didnt warm up, called again and was told that pretty much had to take cold shower in the morning because maintenance would not make it until after we checked out. The tryst is under new management/owner and things have gone south since they sold it. This was our go to hotel when we traveled to san juan. But will be looking for somewhere else from now on.
This place has a good area. The restaurant have a good drinks and food. Muy buen ambiente. The view was amazing!
Oh, the tryst. Might as well call this place "triste" because it was such a horrifically bad experience. My favorite part was waking up to roaches on my back and arms throughout the night. The water heater barely worked so it was ice-cold showers and the rooms were 70 degrees the whole time (thermostat doesn't work). The rooms are TINY. Like... insanely small. The view was an abandoned structure with random people living in it. Especially for the price. At almost $300 per night, there's a much nicer, much cleaner, much better Marriot literally a block away. We thought we'd be getting a cool little modern boutique style hotel room that was on the beach. Instead it was nightmarish and uncomfortable. Skip "triste" and find a room at a place that isn't a complete dump. I'm a believer in the benefit of the doubt - sometimes a place might just have a bad day. But in this case I'm so disappointed that I spent the money to stay there, that I'm going to make sure I share with everybody I know just how bad it was. Find somewhere else, I promise you this hotel will only disappoint you in every way.
Nice beachfront property with great views! Bathroom could of been better!
Would stay here again. The staff is super friendly and nice.
LOVED my stay here. My cousin and I checked in Saturday morning and checked out Thursday. The staff was amazing! Super super friendly and helpful! They helped us with anything we needed, gave us water, held our bags for us when we checked out, and more. This hotel is at the most perfect location in condado! Beach front access and lots of restaurants near by. I read lots of reviews that have them not so good reviews and was a bit nervous before hand but was totally wrong. Honestly they met and exceeded my expectations for the price! If I ever come back to this beautiful island, I’m definitely staying at the tryst again! Also, the pictures do no justice for how lovely the rooms and bathrooms are! In the pictures it makes the rooms look small (we booked the petite room) and it was so spacious, big comfy bed, huge TV, perfect size BR, and even a fridge! STAY HERE! :)
cute place on the beach
My bathroom has tons of small roaches and when i report this they said they are gonna tell the manager and see what he can do -.-“
Okay, I'm an old guy. I was looking for peace and relaxation on the beach, but what I got was the party hotel on the party beach. On weekends, a DJ blares music off the hotel's patio onto the beach. There was no getting away from it. On Sunday, the hotel is next to the gay beach, which was also blaring music. So, i essentially had dueling music. It was the antithesis of relaxing. The hotel itself was clean and the bed was comfy. I wish the rooms had a safe. At least mine didn't. I wouldn't stay here again only because I'm old and it wasn't my scene.
This property is the best value for your $. I was hesitant because if the price. What a pleasant surprise. Small room, but very clean.. view was amazing.. will be back for sure…
We enjoyed our stay here and loved it's beachfront location.
If you like a quiet beachfront hotel, Tryst is NOT for you. Techno music blasts night and day, which can be heard on the beach and in the guest rooms. The shower water was cold, unless you ask hotel staff for the trick to make it warm. That said, the location is great, the staff are friendly and helpful and the building itself is very nice.
The location was excellent in terms of being on the beach and its proximity to upscale shopping, restaurants and other hotels & resorts. The hotel was beautiful and had lovely lounge and deck. We did not try the food services. Staff were all very helpful and pleasant.

Excellent location. Great customer Service hotel and restaurant. Friendly staff. Clean, safe and secure. Bath room sink to small and faucet too large. Water flew past the sink onto my cloths. Too a long time to generate hot water in shower. Overall I would stay there again and recommend it.
