Rooms are very clean and nice. The service is outstanding, the breakfast is very good. The beach is ideal for swimming and you can use the hotel sunbeds for no additional cost. Walking distance to several restaurants. One of our favorite hotels during our 6 weeks in Greece.

A real dream

What a gracious welcome! And what a gracious and smiling care throughout our stay! The premises are what dreams are made of. Breakfast is excellent. Two critical points. 1. The bathroom should have far more counters, railings, hooks, etc. (We didn't know where to put or hang our stuff.) 2. Something annoying, the second cup of coffee at breakfast typically took an eternity to arrive (something like 10 or 15 minutes to arrive - we tried asking for other types of coffee, but each was equally slow to come). This being said, people were invariably gracious and smiling and attentive.

10/10 stay at the Theodore! Amazing service, clean, beautiful and big rooms. Lovely beach and amazing breakfast. A close drive to many attractions as well. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved this hotel, it exceeded all our expectations. We had a room on the ground floor which was a stones throw away from the beach. The staff were all so friendly and couldn't do enough for us, always making sure we had fresh bottled water next to us. my favourite part was the massive bath in the middle of the room which I relaxed in each evening. The breakfast was amazing too. we will return x

This hotel is spectacular, the layout, the decor and cleanliness are faultless. Both breakfasts and snacks off a good range and all fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The staff and what truly makes the Theodore so special, they all go over and beyond to make your stay so enjoyable. We can’t wait to return.

This is a jewel of a hotel. Not only is it exquisitely beautiful, the customer service is top notch, comparable to the best hotels in the world. Breakfast - and all of the “snacks” on the menu which are perfect for lunch or a light dinner - is excellent. Recommend highly.

Our time at The Theodore was wonderful. I proposed to my partner on this trip so I wanted it to be special and The Theodore ensured this was the case. They delivered one of the most unique and personalised stays we've ever had. Their attention to detail was phenomenal. I must commend George for his excellent management. George and the staff should be very proud of the high-quality service they have delivered. A particular mention must go to the front-of-house staff, especially Maria and Alexia. They were both so warm, genuine and keen to assist. For example, for restaurant, cab or day trip bookings, they were impressively efficient at organising these. Other things to comment on include the stunning view of the Cretan Sea which was on your downstep and the supreme breakfast that was offered. Thank you very much also for the welcome platter and the engagement gift also. We absolutely hope to come back again sometime.

Just a beautiful well thought out hotel. Boutique in the best way possible, attention to detail, elegant, well thought out design, spacious and beach chic rooms, super comfy beds, wonderful lighting, amazing breakfast, can’t say enough good things- and the staff and management were a total delight.

Phenomenal stay

One of the nicest hotels I have visited in 25 years of travelling. Beautiful stylish rooms, excellent food , lovely location and with a doubt the nicest staff of any hotel, anywhere.

Beautiful boutique hotel with first class service

Just perfect.

This has been exactly what we have been looking for. An absolute gem and the perfect place to just relax and unwind. From food to room to hangout area, staff and beach - everything is thought through with an incredible attention to detail. We usually do not repeat any places, as we are always looking for new discoveries. For this one, we may make an exception next year!

The Theodore was the perfect place to start our trip to Greece, almost too good as we have compared every other place to it! It was beautiful, it felt peaceful and private even among the stretch of restaurants and other hotels. The staff were amazing, George and his team were so attentive and helpful with restaurant suggestions and even choosing beaches that would be protected when the winds hit. I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Chania.

Lovely property right on the beach, the General Manager was amazing and has hand picked a wonderful staff. The Chef was so talented, he packed us a lunch for our hike down the Gorge. The concierge was so helpful with dinner recommendations, as well as organizing excursions etc... This boutique hotel is a gem, I highly recommend staying here.

Luxury beach boutique hotel in Chania

The Theodore is a small boutique beach hotel just outside Chania. It is flanked on each side by restaurants with excellent food (not related to hotel). At the hotel there is a chef very interested in making his food both interesting and excellent. All the staff is wonderful and helpful. all accommodations first class and very clean. Every guest we met there was of one mind--this place is a deal.

The location is perfect for Chania. The attention to detail in service was beyond. The staff was beyind amazing, it’s like that have a file on all your wants and likes! The hotel is clean, quaint and luxurious.

Amazing! Can we go back ASAP?

We loved our stay at the Theodore. Everything was wonderful - we appreciated the kind and helpful staff, the welcome and honeymoon treats, the private beach chairs, the calm and gorgeous design. the breakfasts were so so so amazing! The room was wonderfully spacious and comfortable. Our only complaint was that our room (the only one) had its door right near the kitchen door and front door so it was a little noisy hearing door slams in the morning. That didn’t really affect our 5 stars stay though! Thank you Theodore!
