Not what I was expecting.

This is the only hotel in South East Asia that has not supplied fresh water. Also no food available. Second floor bathroom drainage not good. WiFi spotty. One night there was a large storm. The street turned into a river and the wastewater channel that runs alongside the hotel came through the wall and turned the courtyard and pool into a giant brown sludge. I was trapped in my room all day with only the supplies I had squirrelled away. My neighbour went wading through knee high flood waters to get water and supplies for his family. Some wifi access restored in the afternoon, but only on the balcony. I contacted Hotels.com but less than useless. Organised my own new hotel and just abandoned the last three days payment.

Uncomfortable Holiday Stay

I was very disappointed to have the cleanliness on so many different levels make my stay uncomfortable including Dirty Sheets-old Dirty Curtains Dirty Pool Dirty Floor Broken Basin will not drain Broken Shower Head Toilet would not flush good Dirty Kitchen

Cheap and easy

Cheap and easy but the water situation was not so great

Value for money! Very close to sunset road. Minor problem was the pool a bit dirty. Very comfortable.

Overall great place

Was really good place and nicely fit into the nature, I was in my private villa, really nice concept, the only thing which I found out on my last day that really made me down was the pillows, I opened once just for case and was black, with mould on it, really really really disappointed...they should keep an eye to thins kind of staff...

They didn’t let us know that we were in a flood zone and that the area had flooded a couple of days before and made the pool brown from blood waters. The property smelled like dirty water.

Not recommended

The location is out of the way, you will have to get taxis to go anywhere. The place has a funny vibe and the rooms while they are spacious , they are very basic. You get what you paid for., the bathroom is a bit awful with funny steps sunk into the floor. We left two nights earlier as it was too much hassle the transport and the poor amenities of the hotel

Feels like home

Perfect for your first time in Bali

Great hotel, Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Facilities were all great, only minor problems with the shower. Would recommend to younger travellers and I would stay here again.

Spacious hotel

Spacious suite. Service was great. However, there was no water supply in the room. We had to call the reception. When the problem was being fixed, black water flowed out. Aircon was not centralised so certain areas of the room is poorly ventilated.

Beauiful view

Hotel nice

Love this place for the peace and quiet But experience was ruined on last couple of days by loud drunk crazy man talking to himself loudly from early in the morning. Nothing seemed to be done about him. And the water had bad smell like rotten eggs.. But in the positive I love this place

Lovely place to stay, the room was comfortable and peaceful

Not what I expected

Upon reaching the hotel, I was fairly disappointed along with my friend. It was small and a like with it's picture of the pool shown on the site but, the bean bags by the pool had some kind of fungus and mouldings to it. it is not hygienic at all! The room was very strange with one too many doors, the lights were too dim and there wasnt any fan in the living room. Also the TV was just ridiculously small, they just one aircon in the bedroom! Not to mention, the toilet.. the toilet itself and the shower water pressure was very VERY weak! would take you forever to take a quick shower. Last but not least, the safety box did not work, refrigerator was not cold and there were too many insects and mosquitos in the room everyday and night and lots of dust under the bed! Safe to say, its a no no! and to add on to that, it's far away from everything and isnt safe to walk at night! about 40 mins walk to the beach!

Nice Calm, enjoyable place

It was pleasant and very calm place. a little away from kuta which is happening and lot of pubs. But very good staff and rooms with an environment which relaxes you with a sceneric view in the morning.

Lovely place but far away from the beach

The place is lovely and quiet and the staff is friendly. The reception staff helped me for instance to order some food to the home stay and she made sure to understand what I wanted. As for the rooms, they are nice and spacious. However, the AC and water pressure need proper repair/maintenance. On top of that, the location is far away from the center of Seminyak and even further away from the beach. Only when I checked out a day earlier than planned I was told that shuttle transportation was provided. I don't know whether that would have changed my decision.

The Studio - Budget Villa

I have been here 3rd times, but this time the staff was not friendly and helpful.. When i checked out and gave the key, the guy who in charge in receptionist not even look at me and say something... Most of the staff was very busy but i didn't saw any guest there..

Serenity

Highly recommend the budget villa. It was very clean and rooms large with both front and back Patios. Beautiful surrounding gardens loved watching the squirrels. The staff are extremely friendly we will definitely be back

Not what is appears.

Booked through wotif.com and arrived today to find a dilapidated looking tiny rectangle! Filthy walls, doors, floors and pool. Almost all the wooden floorboards around the pool were loose and uneven. Shower drain was blocked and overflowed into the bathroom. Dead wasp in the basin on arrival. Filthy chair covers. Someone else's hair on the bath towel. We complained straight away (never done this before!) and were shown 2 other villas in the same condition. The reception staff Eddy said some of the villas have been renovated recently but they're all full. We asked to be moved to a room and refunded a difference but told we couldn't get a refund. Currently sitting in reception waiting for the manager who's 'away for an undetermined amount of time'.

Great studio hotel in Seminyak

We had a great time at this studio hotel (like home away from home). The staff is available and helpfull at any time. The room is very large and convenient. The place is relatively quite. Aircon is little noisy (external fan near the windows). The Wifi is very good too.

Lovely huge room by the pool, great price and great location, we had a scooter so was perfect, not as convenient to walk, but they offer free transfer to the beach area etc and the driver is super friendly. Great hotel overall. Very happy.

Can't afford to miss the Studio- if you're around.

I can only remember my wife whispering to me- we had to travel all this way to find peace. This was undoubtedly a very wise decision that I had made to stay at the Studio during my stay in Bali. It was peaceful, it offered much more than what the hotel charged us. The location was perfect- away from the city hush hush, you could sit in the patio at the front of the villa and stare at the fields outside, or you could sit in the patio at the back. It was like an apartment that offered everything, bedroom, hall, kitchen, washrooms, patio etc.. Also had fun going to Seminyak market at night. Indeed, made our journey memorable.

Best hotel in its price range

I stayed here for 3 nights with my girlfriend and it was delightful. They responded to my emails a few days before and we're ready for us with a driver and late check in with no problems. The superior suite that I booked was the same size of my 1 bedroom apartment back home and much more than expected for the price I paid. Over all the water only went out once, wifi was always good, breakfast delivered to the room in the morning was simple but appetizing. The staff were all very helpful and willing to answer any questions or requests. The location was about a 15 minute walk to some of the main streets but not too busy itself. Great place to stay for a first timer in Bali!

Nice Villa with cheap price but..

We have stayed 3 night at Christmas and we were very satisfied with almost everything. Room facilities were quite good, Every single staff was really friendly and helpful. This Villa is little bit far from central Seminyak but free transport was given when we wanted to go out and they ride us whenever and wherever we wanted. But only few problem make us not give this hotel good rate. Firstly the outside pool was really disappointment. Also we saw a cockroach inside our room two times when we stayed.

Worthwhile stay

Have a very pleasant stay in the hotel. Friendly staffs and pretty clean environment. Price is very reasonable. Getting free shuttle from the hotel to wherever we need to go. They are friendly enough to help book taxi to airport. Even telling us the price difference between their hotel shuttle and blue bird taxi which charge by meters.

Don't be put off by the location, it's not that bad at all. The hotel is fantastic!

Christmas holidays

It was raining daily. The bathroom was smelly due to no trap in down pipe. Staff could not cope with breakfast on time. Room services daily. Staff friendly. Good quite location. Cheap.

great quiet villa

big villa, fantastic staff and great environment! loved the view of rice fields. villa has all the amenities we wanted - they even lent us a cable to play music from our phones! the breakfast was so-so though. we liked that it was quiet and a little bit away from the crowds but it was close enough to get where you wanted quite quickly, so no problems. the shuttle bus service from hotel was great to drop you off for some shopping or a day by the beach. we had some plumbing problems in the first 2 days where the hot water was boiling! staff was attentive enough to sort it out quickly.

Excellent rooms, Mediocre view

Beautiful rooms. Extremely small pool. No view from room. Good if you want to stay inside the room.

Great size room and excellent service, location no

The location is not ideal. The road is really busy and not much room for pedestrians and at dark it can be scary and dangerous. You will need to use taxi or scooter pretty much every time you want to go somewhere (which are cheap). You can walk to the nearby restaurants but mainly we took the free hotel van to beach and dinner and then a taxi back to the hotel. The hotel free van service was great. The room was huge but a bit run down. We stayed on the first floor, ground floor does not have much privacy but just a few steps to get into the pool. The pool was small but clean and nice. The mattress was old and cheap, not a good sleep. Aircon was noisy and we slept without it. The staff was extremely friendly and nice, they are the best feature of the place. The $25 USD we paid per night was a good value, including breakfast and wifi.

Great comfortable stay . . . but Noisy

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Studio. They offer free breakfast and a free shuttle to the city (when available). Make sure you book the shuttle in advance since it is not always available. The Roosters and Dogs made a lot of noise, so be prepared to be woken up at 6 every morning. The location is not the easiest to walk to from the main tourist area in Seminyak, but its still only about a 15-20 minute walk. The breakfast was very good and the staff were helpful and nice. The suites are very nice and large, but our unit had an old tv and a dvd player that didn't work if you are looking to wind down at night. The local market and warung is a 5 minute walk away if you are looking for good cheap food (30,000 Rp for 2 meals).

My own little paradise.

This hitel was great. I have no complaints. I have been travelking for a month all over Southeast Asia and the place was by far the best. I will definitely come back just to stay here. It was perfect! Thanks for everything!

Great space to spread out away from the center

The Studio offered a very comfortable, spacious one bedroom with living area-- we were impressed by how open and clean it felt, and found it very relaxing to return to after a busy day in Bali. The location is about 10 minutes car ride from the center of Seminyak, and the hotel shuttle is occasionally available to take people out (but not back). This really is not an issue, as taxis are very affordable in Bali. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a bit of peace, or for a family that needs some room for the kids.

Exceptional Staff

I had a great time staying at The Studio. Their staff is remarkable! They were so friendly, helped us out with whatever or whenever we needed it. They gave us advice on what to do and even connected us to people when we wanted to do certain things. They had a great breakfast included and snacks. They offered free shuttle within Seminyak and even free bike rental - which we took advantage of several times. The hotel is a little out of the way of the hustle and bustle but I view this as an advantage as you really experience the calm and serenity that is Bali. Loved staying here, would definitely stay again!

Quaint and secluded

Great little boutique hotel hidden away from the hussle and bussle of Seminyak. Only a 20 minute walk into main street Seminyak. If you like your own privacy and personal space, you get heaps of it in this little place. Lush and green, it does feel homely. A great place to unwind. Staff are incredible and very accommodating. Made me vegetarian breakfast each morning. Highly recommend staying here.

Great place

The Studio was our first stop in our Bali vacation. It was a wonderful experience. The service is amazing. The continental breakfast had quite the options from omelette station to chicken wings. The food was delicious. They offer free use of the bicycles and a free shuttle that will take you to the main shopping area maybe 10 minutes away. The location was ok. It made it better with the shuttle being offered to us. We would definitely stay here again and absolutely recommend others to stay.

I came back

I enjoyed my second stay here... I cancelled other plans to return.. The shuttle is helpful as it is a bit out of mainstream Seminyak ..not great to walk back to in the dark but taxis are not usually expensive.. Staff are excellent and I had lovely fresh omelette and fruit in the mornings.. I have diet restrictions and appreciated being able to have health fresh choices..it was again a very comfy stay.

Affordable , clean and comfy little hideaway

I loved my stay .. It is a bit out of the way from mainstream Seminyak but the rooms are clean and spacious with fridge and lounge , my TV didn't get the remote working is although I asked a few times about it.., the breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit and freshly made omlette .. The pool is small but adequate for a cool off. There was everything I needed . The shuttle was a great idea but not always able to be relied on they into central places in Seminyak . I have been many times to Bali and this was a nice surprise and staff friendly and the location quiet except for a few enthusiastic roosters that appear to be in various parts of the island .. A great affordable stay .

Budget accommodation.

Overall it was value for money. Clean rooms. shuttle was useful as the hotel was well out of town, however no return shuttle. Breakfast was adequate, and the staff very obliging.

pleasant stay

the hotel is located a bit far from the busy/happening area so you definitely need to rent a motorbike during your stay otherwise use the free shuttle service by the hotel or taxi. Breakfast menu is all days same during our stay and the selection was very poor I should say so we ended up having breakfast outside from the 2nd day.

comfortable, feels like home

Its is a nice hotel. We booked the budget villa room no. 206. Very clean and comfortable. Check in was fast. We've been told that they provided free transport to any destination within Seminyak. And they did. But it was nicer to have a walk out of the hotel and see the padi fields and the surrounding environment. They are good restaurants around. Since we only come back at the end of the day, the room was always cleaned and tidy. The only thing I would like to see an improvement on the buffet breakfast. The portions served at the buffet for two to three people instead for the hotel guests there.

My cozy home in Bali

Each time I come to Bali without my family, the studio is like my 2nd home. Very cozy, quiet and convenient . Before I knew the budget villas, I stayed in the regular room which was ok, but now I love the budget villas much better, I even recommend it to all my friends and to whoever needs budget accommodation in Seminyak ! Thank you

Home away from Home

My partner and I stayed at the Studio for 4 nights.We loved our Budget Villa. Apart from a little dusty, the room was excellent for any couple looking for privacy and comfort during their visit to Bali. The location is also ideal as it is not too far from all the shopping and beaches. We rented a scooter which is easily arranged by the helpful ladies at the front desk. We got lots of help from the lovely Febby, who is more than willing to help us find out any information about Bali. As we checked-in late in the evening (8pm), she recommended a nearby 'warong' / food stalls and we ate there many nights as it was really good simple local indonesian food. Thanks Febby and The Studo for making my first trip to Bali so memorable and enjoyable. We will be back! Love from Malaysia.

Excellent value for money.

Have been many many times to Bali and this time we went on a budget, not sure what to expect but was pleasantly supprised. We stayed for a short business trip to Bali, The studio was 5 mins from most central places, great outlook onto rice fields, quiet and lovely kept orchids and gardens. Very pleasant friendly staff, nice little extras that you would not expect from this price range, like a free shuttle, also afternoon tea/coffee and always fresh juice and fruits to help yourself to. Breakfast was great very satisfying. Its a small cosy place, we stayed in the Villa and certainly have no complaints, would go again. Found out the Studio is part of the wonderful Ellora Group, who are very experts in accommodation in Bali.

Cheap and Peaceful

Was expecting a dingy little hotel room for the price I paid. Instead I was suprised with a fairly spacious sized studio villa and the gardens, pool and surrounds are picturesque. Due to strugling with 30+ heat and 80+ humidity, I was very happy to spend time in air-conditioned comfort. The room was lovely and clean and the moveable arm on the tv allowed me to watch a movie while relaxing in bed. The bathroom was really spacious and fresh towels were supplied each day, if I left them dripping on the floor. Staff were lovely and friendly. There wasn't a lot of choice for breakfast, but it didn't really matter given how little I was paying. It was a really nice and tranquil place to stay. There was a free shuttle bus into Seminyak, although I didn't find out until a few days in. Taxi to Seminyak was 25,000 IDR, to Kuta was 60,000 IDR and the airport 80,000 IDR (if memory serves). All in all, I spent a lovely 7 days relaxing and next time I go to Bali (hopefully with less humidity) I'll be staying at The Studio.

Terrible -breakfast is the same every day-no-one speaks english and the linen is dirty with holes in the towels.

Great hotel great price

Great hotel in a very quiet location, good kitchen,TV and comfy bed facilities, bathroom ok but could do with a face lift, no restaurant food cooked and brought to outside eating area (ate out every day), staff always very pleasant and accommodating. Ten minute taxi ride to Seminyak city, (use blue bird taxis) plenty of shops, bars, and good choice of restaurants. Would happily stay here again

Great value little hotel

My husband and I found this place to be great value for money in Seminyak. It is a little bit out from the main Street of Seminyak but the hotel offer free shuttle in the Seminyak area and it is a couple of dollars for return Taxi or about a half an hours walk. The set up the rooms and villas are very spacious offering your own living area in the rooms and a kitchenette in the villas. My husband and I started off in a superior room which would have been fine except for some early and noisy roosters living next door so we opted to pay the extra and upgrade to a villa which reminded me of little chalets. They were very comfortable and peaceful.

Bali experience

It's our first honeymoon. Boy, it was a right one. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. We strongly suggest Bali as a place for honeymoon. Regrets?well..maybe we should stay longer.

The Studio Hotel

We had a really nice stay at the hotel! The room was much bigger than expected and included a sitting room & small balcony over looking the pool. The pool could be a little bigger but I suppose everyone would go to the beach. Although the beach was at least 10 - 15 mins drive from the hotel, they provided a shuttle service anytime at our request! The staff were friendly and well-informed - provided us with information and services and went out of their way to grant our request. We forgot our international plug which they instantly provided for our use.. Our booking included breakfast!! which was a pleasant surprise... We were also informed that complimentary tea is available from 4.30pm - 6.30pm and a shopping tour on Wednesdays!!

Quiet and peaceful except for the renovations

Friendly staff, sweet guy who makes your omelette in the morning, peaceful quiet place. But right now try not to get the room budget 201 as it is next to the renovations and the staff room. Overall nice helpful people and spacious well appointed rooms. Thank you for the beauty and all the flowers...

Excellent accomodation,staff, location.

Fabulous rooms,location,staff.Clean & spacious room with seperate lounge/dining area.Bathroom big & clean.Kettle for making own coffee/tea/pop mie noodles.Small fridge,but big enough for 2x people.DVD and TV/Computer with internet access (although drops out a fair bit) & surround stereo.Local TV channels but no English speaking channels..get a few cheap DVD's to watch.Staff go out of their way to help with anything & everything (best staff I have ever dealt with in Indonesia). Location is close enough to husle and busle of Seminyak/Legian, but would reccommend hiring a scooter. Nice clean pool.Nice garden setting around complex/pool.Would highly recommend any one to stay there.Will definately be back.

Great staff

A scooter was essential as the Studio is quite a distance from the heart of Seminyak. Staff were lovely and always available. Bed was big and very comfy. Only downside was the shower which had no power whatsoever....but hey that's Bali.

Nice hotel, great staff!

Putu was so helpful with me helping me aranging taxis and motos to get to other places. Is a good spot. The bikes are not in the best condition but still working, although is a fast road and not the best to go out walking. It was easy to get everywhere, the room was huge, the bed was comfy and the pool was nice but not big, Quite area and great for relax.

Dirthy!

Nice appartement, frendley staff. The rooms are big but very dirthy towels grey with spots. Bathroom very tired. I think before is was a Nice place.
