Station location!

Mainly positive experience. Room was large with high ceilings, bed decent, shower great. Pub downstairs is nice and friendly and the food is decent. Good breakfast and coffee made to order and one of the best croissants ever! Live music one night and a very good pint of Guiness! Very close to station which gets to London Bridge quickly and some local shops and restaurants. A couple of improvements would be better lighting and extraction in the bathroom. There was a coffee machine but that didn’t work.

Great hotel with British charm!

We love staying at the Station Hotel, and we do every time we come to the Hither Green area. No noise from the bar! Very clean, friendly staff. One block from the train, 10 minutes to London Bridge, great little neighborhood and a grocery store across the street. Our go to place!

Newly renovated room, very comfortable and well decorated. Great hotel next to pub/resto. Wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend for this area.

Couldnt hear anything from the pub below which is great. However, kids bed was next to a radiator that was on.

Good stay

Nice rooms , great location, nice pub downstairs, just what I needed , mattress a bit firm for me, but that's personal preference, all round a good choice for me

The hotel was homey, and had a cool lobby & garden pub that felt like a local hangout. So it felt like we were locals and not visitors from the US. Best part of the location was how close it really is to the train station! 1/4 block which made getting around London super convenient. It's located in a "suburb" so more like a fun neighborhood & coming home than a hotel. Definitely recommend for amenities, vibe, location & Vale to price. .

Good local hotel

Unique property above a beautiful pub in a quiet area. Easy access to the train for getting in and out of the city. Great for a couple of nights stay. Bathroom could use a bit better light though. We enjoyed our stay here

I’ve stayed here a number of times. Decent room, good food, friendly staff.

Room was OK for an overnight stay. Close to Rail Station. Room quite dark, needed curtains pulled too as could be viewed from properties across the road. Shower and amenities good

We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel was upgraded with a vintage setting and decor. We had a wonderful stay. It was 2 minutes walk to the train station. Cozy.

Great location, have stayed a couple of times before as family live round the corner and is dog friendly. Love the pub for drinks and the garden. I find the rooms a bit basic. The lighting isn't very good in the room or the bathroom and the lights over the bed weren't working. The bed was comfortable and the rooms have always been surprisingly quiet.

Gone downhill

Had several emails asking me to review the Station, I wouldn’t normally bother, but as i’ve emailed twice this week for my receipt and had no reply, maybe you’ll read this? I’ve stopped here about 18-20 nights over the last couple of years. I’ve seen the decline from good to not very good. Staff don’t seem to care any more. Website says breakfast served from 7. It’s not. Been down twice to find “chef doesn’t start till 8”. No use to me at that time, so I haven’t ordered breakfast recently. Shame. It used to be good. And at 7am. Last week I ordered my evening meal as a starter and main course. Pretty standard I thought, but the lad brought them together and said “which do you want putting where?”. I asked him to put my main course in the kitchen as it would otherwise be cold by the time I finished my soup starter. He didn’t seem to get it. I was quite surprised, as I’d made it really clear it was a starter and a main, due to the same thing happening last time I stayed. I blame the cook not the (clearly very inexperienced) waiter. It came back with the tartar sauce warm, so they had clearly just chucked the plate under the pass. It’s not difficult. It’s basically Wetherspoons food at restaurant prices.

Well decorated, clean and good dining options

The property is conveniently located next to the subway but in a quiet area. It has a beautiful pub/dining area, large windows in the room, and has a great price for the connectivity it allows to central London.

My room was sweet, the hotel is on top of a bar and the neighborhood is quiet and pleasent. My room was at the first floor and the window faced a street light that was strong. I was able to shut the curtain and block the light but I preferred to have a view out of the window.

Just a good stay as always. Unique rooms in a lovely building with good staff.

Loved this place. Great building with those big Edwardian ceilings and open spaces. Lovely room in a leafy area. Breakfast was good nice staff. Will book this again and again 😃

More than I bargained for!

I’ve stayed in pub hotels before, unfortunately on band night too. I had low expectations but the station hotel was superb. The pub was packed but up in my room I didn’t hear anything - there isn’t a lift and a few stairs to climb but that was fine for me, I felt a little sorry for my room service. The area is brilliant, a small village feel with great shops and quaint Restaurant’s nearby. I’ll be definitely going back to stay.

Great little hotel with character! Pub underneath very convenient and had nice food! Very quiet and clean.

Was a nice hotel, expensive food and drink but the main problem was nowear to put our cloths. We had to leave everthing in a suitcase. 3 hangers and a shelf 1 foot away from a wall.

I had a very comfortable stay at the Station Hotel. My hotel room was quiet and clean. It was very convenient that this hotel was within a five minute walking distance of a train station.

Convenient and good value in SE London

We stayed overnight here for an event in the area. The room was very nice and well equipped with a lovely bathroom (jungle shower) and quality toiletries. Lots of choice of coffee and tea too. The bed was supremely comfortable and the inclusive breakfast was delicious, with very good coffee, cereals, juice, and a cooked breakfast too. I'd consider coming back here for future London stays -- it's right next to the station and only 20 mins from central London.

Great local atmosphere/great place

This is a great local pub and hotel in a great part of Lewisham. The staff and the service is great and the atmosphere is just authentic and vibrant even on a Wednesday evening.

Great hotel and pub, friendly staff

Have stayed before and everything was as good as always. Food is amazing. One thing would say is there are a few small things which would be easy fixes but have remained the same across multiple visits. Would be worth touching up paint scuffs on walls and the addition of nespresso machine is great but having to choose between it and the lamp as theres only one socket is silly!

Lovey affordable stay

Very lovely stay at The Station. The room was very clean and included everything necessary. We were presented with a snack draw with nibbles which was a nice touch. Would absolutely recommend!

Great find much more cost effective than staying in central London for business. Lovely rooms, clean, comfy and food in bar was really nice.

Great welcome, huge room with a very comfortable bed and good shower, lovely meal in the pub down stairs. I will book again!

Great little hotel and good value.

This was the second time I’ve stayed at the Station Hotel. Both times the stay was excellent. The rooms are large and generally well kept. Beds are comfortable. The check in process is very straight forward. The location is very central, and yet the area around the hotel is quiet and feels more like a village. Perfect place to stay.

Amazing value for London and really friendly welcome.

Beautiful building; has a rich history; well maintained. The rooms were a good size, and the amenities were decent. Our window looked out on the street and for some reason they were doing construction in the middle of the night… Very noisy. But certainly not the hotels fault. However the windows are paper thin and we could hear everything. The Wi-Fi didn’t work on our phones… Perhaps it was something to do with our international phones… Having said that, we did not have any issues with the Wi-Fi at the other hotels we stayed in the London area. The pub was amazing! Beautiful atmosphere, amazing food, good beer, and the sweetest dog named Ozzie. I would highly recommend this Inn if you’re looking for a place outside of the busyness of London and is easily accessible to transit. Overall: 4/5.

Not bad

First appearances it was a lovely little quaint hotel. But... The bed was terrible... Felt like the mattress had never been turned on maybe not changes in a long time. The shower had 2 settings.... Baltic and scolding. In wouldn't say the £91 fee was worth imo. No breakfast... You had to pay for that. Won't use this again when there are better and cheaper hotels in the area

Stayed here several times , friendly , convenient , good bar and food

We have stayed many times as it’s ideal location to our daughters . The pub was very very busy due to Xmas market but got shown to our room very quickly and with a smile even though he must have been rushed off his feet x the room as usual was clean but the bathroom had an awful drain smell and unable to open window but only stayed one night so managed xx

Great Hotel, Great staff & food

Great hotel with pub & restaurant below, food was delicious. My room was modern, clean & the bed was very comfy, large 40 inch TV, high ceilings & trendy decor. The Australian manager (Kane) was down to earth, efficient & very helpful. Monday night is cheap pizza night (£6) freshly made very tasty & Thursday is quiz night in the dog friendly pub with a great atmosphere. They don’t offer a breakfast but porridge, muffins & bottled water are replenished daily in your room.( Also there is a decent cafe across the road) . I would definitely stay their again cheap room price aswell.

Good little hotel

Conveniently placed next to Hither Green Station for easy access to the City. Nice little pub downstairs. Nicely decorated. Comfortable. I liked the muffin and porridge in the room, I had to leave early for a meeting and this meant I managed to get something to eat for the journey!

Great place to stay! Visiting from Australia, great pub, great beer, great food and good old fashion friendly service, nothing was a problem for the couple who run it. Rooms are nice, clean and decent sizes, serviced daily, bath rooms recently upgraded and refurbished, Hotel is close to other shops and Hither Green train station less than a minute walk away. If you want a good pub stay experience, this place is ideal. Considering London is very expensive, this venue was good value and cheaper than other places that offer less. Would definitely stay here again, cheers guys.

Close to the station, easy access to London & kent

a pub/hotel branch very similar to the style of whetherspoons but up a notch with style. Very unique rooms and lovely little square that it’s in with easy access to London city and Kent via the train station very close by. Shops, cafes and even a Barbers on the same square. Would deffo recommend for those commuting. Only gripes I have is with finding staff when they are busy in the pub when you have any queries and the rooms being very hot in the summer (needs A/C) Other than that, the pub food is delicious (but not cheap) and it has a great atmosphere, I have been twice now and would definitely visit again.

Great hotel for the price.

Nice boutique hotel, within the Hither Green neighborhood of London. EASY transit options, as the train is less than a block away. Cafes, convenience stores, and small restaurants are all around the hotel. There is a Pub downstairs from the hotel that has great food and beer! We stayed in the Underground room, and it was just right. As with most European hotels, the rooms are not large but since we only are there to bathe and sleep...it was perfect. The only downfall was there is no air conditioning, and it was very warm while we were there. Other than that, it was a great experience, and great price.

It was a good stay other than the window that could not stay opened!

Location is a bit out of the city but that was fine as transport was very good. Food at the hotel was good and reasonable. The dining area was spacious. Our room was surprisingly large.

Great location and Stay

The Station hotel is in a great location right near the rail station to make traveling to and from London city central very easy. The staff there is also excellent, as they even let me check in early to my room, and made me feel comfortable and relaxed while staying there. My room was very clean and adorable. I highly recommend this place as a place to stay, and I would stay again!

Nice room, comfortable bed, very convenient to train stop and other amneties. Food in downstairs pub was very good, diverse menu for a pub. Only complaint was strong odor in bathroomsnd lack of breakfast. For the price extremely reasonable. Will stay there again.

Nice hotel close to Broadway Theatre

Hotel with public house. Clean, tired, comfortable. Provides herbal teas, coffee, hot chocolate, muffins, gluten free porridge in rooms. Lovely, reasonably priced breakfast from public house.

Nice Little Stay

We stayed in the station hotel for one night on a Friday. We had a wedding at the local Eltham Palace that afternoon. Staff were quick to check us into our room and booked us a taxi straight away. I could not fault the facilities, the room was large with everything you would come to expect, the bathroom looks to be newly refurbished and immaculate. we were able to park on the road outside the hotel (there are no parking restrictions on weekends or after 12pm on a friday) We arrived back at the hotel around midnight (it was the point where the pub below was still open) lucky for us, our room was located on the top floor and i had absolutely no noise complaints. I would totally stay here again.

Great location just a stonesthrow from the station

We were visiting our daughters family who live nearby and the hotel was perfectly located by the station so just a very short walk after a longish railway journey from the north. Check-in was straightforward and our room was on the top floor (2nd) but there is no lift so be warned. The room was large and well equipped for drinks and complementary breakfast (porridge and muffins) which made for a relaxed start to the day. Although there is a busy pub, beer garden and restaurant downstairs you wouldn't have guessed as it was so quiet after about 1030pm and we slept well with the windows open as it was so warm (no aircon). We had a meal in the restaurant on the last night which was very nice and reasonably priced. We shall return to this hotel again each time we visit our new grandson and already had a 2nd booking for September but I've just cancelled it as while we were there we learned that there is a lot of engineering works at London Bridge for 8 days over the bank holiday and they're warning of major hassle in getting between London and Hither Green over that period. We will definitely return though

Cool decor

Lovely hotel, cool decor, healthy breakfast good price. Only down side was the only milk option for my tea was full fat and some skimmed next time please. Would love to stay again. Thanks

Bit disappointing

Admittedly we were there during the heat wave but the room was unbearable hot as it had no air conditioning, was south facing with a huge window. I booked a family room as it said it had a sofa bed so I was looking forward to relaxing in the room sitting on the sofa but there wasn't one, just a zed bed made up with bedding even though there were only 2 of us booked in. Mind you the room was so hot even with the fan I asked for that we stayed away all day. Please note 'breakfast' is a pot of instant porridge and a muffin and they only provide decaf coffee. They are only open for brunch at the weekends. This was a dissappointment. Shower thermostat was very stiff - I had to get a member of staff to turn it down as I couldnt turn it. Also the loo was hard to flush and there were ants in the room - bathroom and on the food tray. Bed was very big and comfy though.

StYed for one night. Great location. Really enjoyed my home cooked meal in the restaurant. Good selection of drinks wines and beers. Rooms really trendy. Beds really comfy, ensuite was very nice.

lovely but an early wake up

the room is very well appointed, I like the idea of the muffin and self-service porridge for breakfast. the bed was extremely comfortable but it is a very noisy area from early on, like 5.30 am and the windows are not double glazed so it woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep, only downside really

Happy Customer!

Have stayed here before and knew it to be clean and comfortable, and well sited for where I needed to be working. Bar staff are very helpful, and also dealt with check in. I enjoyed 2 nights with good food from the restaurant and very pleased to have gluten and dairy free options, had great Sunday roast in the evening and on Monday a lovely mushroom soup, followed by beetroot, butternut squash and feta cheese risotto, delicious. Breakfast is basic muffins and porridge in the room but staff provided me with soya and almond milk which I requested in addition. Would stay again and recommend to colleagues.

Fantastic friendly staff

This was my second stay at the Station Hotel, I stayed in the same room which overlooks the outside seating area, whilst this look delightful the weather wasn't quite warm enough to be able to take advantage of it. Its an old building with lots of character that hasn't been lost when renovated to provide modern comfortable spacious rooms. The hotel includes a pub and provides a good range of reasonably priced food and drink. on both my visits the staff have been extremely helpful, courteous and very friendly.

Pleasant place to stay. Couple of minor issues but not enough to put me off staying again. (Outside lighting on all night so made the room quite light and the shower control wasn't working properly so water was too hot) Overall was an ideal place to stay.

Unique and comfortable

Very unique hotel with extremely comfortable beds. We got the King size bed, but it looked bigger to me, maybe it was a California king and an extra bed. Huge windows. There is a bar downstairs with a very vibrant vibe and cool looking people. They cut off the music around midnight on weekends. It's next to a train station 3 stops from London center. There is no Metro and last train is around midnight. Not very convenient if you coming from Heathrow, like we did. But we enjoyed our stay here. Heathrow is a very annoying airport. very far away and the trains and metro in London are very slow. It makes your blood boil if you are running late. But that's not the hotel's fault. This hotel is awesome.

Very welcoming staff, good food, good ambience, lovely room. What's not to like?? I used the stairs and didnt see any form of lift, so if you could struggle with a few flights of stairs then this could be the only negative point (there might be a lift so worth checking in advance)
