Overall this property was disappointing. The day we checked in we were greeted with a very unfriendly and condescending clerk. He was less than helpful, rude and disrespectful. This in turn put a bad taste in our mouth. On the other the baggage service man David was wonderful, as was all the cleaning staff. We payed extra to say in a corner king suite and being from Vancouver Canada this was our trip splurge. We were exceptionally disappointed to be on the 5th floor with a view of nothing but some office building. I would have hoped to have been facing the river on the 15th floor or above, seeing as I wrote in the requests we were celebrating our anniversary and my 40th Birthday. We would not recommend The Standard High Line nor would we stay there again.
This was our second stay at the Standard and we loved it once again. Staff is friendly and courteous. Our room wasn’t quite ready when we arrived so they gave us a couple of free drinks and our room was ready before we even finished them. The room was so relaxing. The soaking tub was great. We sat in it and looked at the NYC skyline. We love the high line area also. Beautiful walking path. And Chelsea market is always a fun trip for lunch and a little shopping.
Loved!
The entire experience was amazing, except there was no hot water on the night of check-in. I purchased a room that had a deeper tub and wanted to use it, however, there was no hot water. I called for the engineer to inspect and he came-as soon as he could, which was about an hour and a half. He worked on the tub for about 20 minutes and then said it worked. I checked after he left and the water was no longer hot. I gave up and decided to just take a shower with my partner, however, that water was not hot either. The next morning there was hot water.
Rosa at check in was super helpful. All the staff were friendly. Best part were the elevators and videos :-)
great
The hotel is in a great spot south of Chelsea and north of Greenwich Village. It does feel a little tired in places to be honest. Word of warning about the rooms: We booked a Corner King room. The pictures on the website make it look like these rooms all have incredible views over the Hudson, a gorgeous big comfy sitting corner and a beautiful bath. When we arrived we had been given room 410 which had none of these things. It was low down, facing the city, had a tiny bench and no bath. We complained and the manager was pretty unhelpful. He told us that all the corner rooms have a slightly different design. And revealed that actually the room that the pictures on the website depict doesn't actually exist. None of the rooms with baths look over the Hudson, only some have the comfy seating corners. Turns out we had the one room that had none of these things. This room should NOT be sold in the same category. We told him this, he didn't offer much of an explanation. So avoid room 410. We were eventually moved for our second night onwards to room 1210 which was great. This was the room we had booked (still no comfy corner seating area) but beautiful bath and being higher up gave us great views of the city. And all the staff we then dealt with were super lovely and helpful. So by all means stay here. But just make sure you double check with the hotel before arrival which room you'll be in. Because you could be in for a very disappointing arrival
The best
This was my first time staying at The Standard Highline. We’ve stayed in the area in the past and enjoyed the neighborhood for all its comforts. We really enjoyed all the Standard has to offer and the views from the rooms were remarkable. We’ll definitely be staying there again in the future!
All good
It's a bit of a mixed bag of a review, as there are areas that were definitely above and beyond but a few other elements that just let it down. It's a very cool hotel, within walking distance to Chelsea Market, the High Line and the Whitney, as well the neighbourhood is really fantastic. The views from the room are insanely glorious - watching the sun rise and set from the room was a really special experience. The cocktails at Hedge and Hearth were superb. Our room had a fantastic, huge tub which was a huge bonus, but the shower was not very good. The water pressure was not great and the water was never really warm enough as there's no temp control. The bathroom was really nice and bright, and the layout thought out well - the toilet seperated from the main bathroom is useful! The room was really lovely room but is starting to show its age, with a bit of wear on the tiles and furniture. The hotel did go above and beyond to help celebrate my birthday with a very thoughful bottle of champagne on check in... thank you - that was really appreciated <3 Other disappointing notes: We ordered room service coffee on the first morning; a flat white and double espresso. With tip it came to about $25, which seems excessive for a warm cup of milky coffee (once it got to us) and over extracted espresso, so that was disappointing. Le Bain AWFUL. Lift took ages, with the operator listening to loud audio, plugged in to what looked like generator. Cocktail menu generic so we left.
Great experience!
I am definitely coming back this place is amazing
I really wanted to love this hotel and there was a lot I really did like. For instance, the location is fantastic with access to plenty of restaurants, shopping, and sites. The hotel was clean and the room we had(corner king) was fairly spacious. That said, there were a handful of things that just left me unimpressed. For instance, why offer guests options for add-ons/upgrades to their stay before checkin, when they cant even see the status of the request until checkin? How does one plan appropriately or anticipate the experience, when they have no idea whether or not the upgrade or early checkin they requested is even viable? It's just silly really. While the room we had was fairly spacious(for NYC), it contained a large booth style table that was dated and took up too much space. Adding to the dated comment, the bed frame felt like it was deteriorating whenever I would just sit on it and I'm not a heavy person. Lastly, service really was mediocre. Aside from the person who helped us transport our bags from the lobby to our car and the person checking us in, most staff were largely apathetic. The restaurant staff were hardly attantive. When your food comes out before your cocktails and the waitor basically shrugs it off when you bring it to her attention, you don't exactly feel like a valued guest. I've spent a lot of time in the city and this experience jusy felt OK, which is sad to say when you're spending $500 a night.
Beautiful room
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was terrific and the premises nice.
From the minute i went to check in the girls at front desk made me feel extra special and were very nice and answered all my questions , i would definetly be staying here again when i go to the city , the city views are amazing, and lets not forget how comfortable that mattress and pillows were !!!!! i could give 10 stars if i could
Big on style, lacking everything else
This is an artfully designed hotel that is bare bones in terms of hospitality.
Property definitely shows aging. Bathroom fixture not working properly, no hot water during morning and bed frame jamming toes due to overextended
I am a foreigner and because of this hotel, my whole vacation in New York was ruined. When I entered my apartment my disappointment was very big! My whole mood was ruined and I wanted to cancel my whole trip that same day! The hotel looks terrible. I don't understand who writes these good reviews? The hotel is run down and old, it needs renovation. The price is overpriced! The photos do not correspond to reality. They took a deposit from me and did not return it. Don't repeat my mistakes!
The Standard Hotel has a great location in the Meatpacking District right next to the Highline, Hudson River walk/bike, Whitney Museum, and 10 minute walk to the subway. The room was clean, comfortable and felt bigger due to large windows and a view. The staff were very helpful and the hotel Standard Restaurant was great. We had a great stay and will return.
Great experience! Can’t wait to visit again
This is a fun and fancy place. Super cosy beds. Staff at the top of their game. Might make you nostalgic for the days when the meatpacking district was actually full of alternative bars and hangouts and populated by queer and arty folk living lightly on the land. But the fact that a coorporate career or a trust fund will be necessary to pay your way here these days shouldn't put you off entirely. Good for Tesla shopping.
Bars restraunts clise to subway and the harbor
The hotel has a nice decoration, different from the others, very modern, it is well located, the staff is very friendly, especially Mr. David in the lobby is very nice and always tries to help us. The rooms are very comfortable, super clean, very well attended by the house keepers, the service is excellent.
Great stay and views and great area
Im going there again
Eclectic and pleasing!
The best hotel I've stayed at in a long time. Most full-service hotels usually drop the ball somewhere, not The Standard — everything was on point to include the restaurant. Attention to detail in this hotel is unparalleled. This hotel made NYE exceptional and I thank the staff for genuine customer service. This hotel understands that well done is better than well said!
Always a 10/10 experience at The Standard!
Liked: convenient location, “wet room” style bathroom. Disliked: pre-checkin encouraged by text was pointless, room not ready at checkin time, not notified when room became ready (had to check back hours later only to find it had been ready for a while).
.
I absolutely LOVE everything about this hotel! The staff are super friendly and helpful! The location is perfect and the views are beautiful! I really enjoyed my stay and I can’t wait to return for more peace and relaxation! Kudos to this hotel!!
The Best
One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Everyone in this hotel is lovely, kind, helpful, and a problem solver. I had the pleasure of interacting with a number of people over a multi-day stay and this hotel is one of the best I have ever had.
Hubby's Birthday Treat
Wow just wow ! Fabulous hotel great location room 0911 amazing with views over the river and One world Trade Centre...Empire State and Rickerfella. Staff friendly and helpful. Food delicious. We loved our stay and cant wait to return!
Great location
Concierge was joyful and friendly, hotel decor was interesting and fun, rain shower was amazing (the best part of the hotel stay), bed was comfortable and view was great. Heard a few dogs barking while we were there but overall pretty quiet.
Unfortunately we had a problem with no heat in our first room. Rm 1321. There was none and it was 55 degrees inside even after turning heat up to 71. The good news is the staff was very helpful and was able to find us another room where the heat worked. However, I would say that at the price point of rooms at The Standard there should probably be better quality control.
Staff was awesome and very accommodating. They served Blantons Bourbon, which is hard to find. Loved the happy hour with the free drinks and the text messages letting us know about it.
I loved this hotel, it is super nice, modern, clean, the service is very good, I liked everything
The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood which is convenient for this time of the year that NY is very crowed, it is walkable, a lot of shops and restaurants, close to the Hudson river, high line and many attractions. Staff are very friendly, the room has a good view, everything was perfect loved it
The view from the gym on the 17th floor was amazing!
Great place and location
Pros: Comfy beds, surprisingly spacious room for NYC. Location is excellent. Loved the Davines bath products, the robes, and the clothes steamer. Bonus points for the video art installations in the elevators. Cons: no in-room coffee, and free lobby coffee from 5-7am only. Seriously, who is up that early? Two croissants and two coffees in the restaurant cost $30. Not a typo. Also, the shower did not get hot enough; we took lukewarm showers all weekend.
Great week. The 2 bed room was on the small side. Needs more space for clothes and more hooks would help.
the Standard visit
The exterior is a New York hotspot with restaurants surrounding the hotel. The entrance is slick as well as the lobby. Staff was accommodating. For such a pricey hotel I expected a smart tv in the room with streaming platforms. The room was spacious with a beautiful and huge soaking tub with a glass partition that makes the king room feel like a suite. The mid century furnishings added a twist of elegance and efficiency. Room service was prompt and professional. Food was presented with style and pizzazz. Restaurant was well appointed with professional and friendly staff, an exceptional food experience. Located at the end of the High Line, near Chelsea yards, plenty of shopping, Little Island and a 5 minute walk to the Whitney museum. Be sure to grab free Friday Night tickets to the Whitney, an awesome NY experience.
I find the staff is very lost and gave no attention to the paying customer. We forgot our passports (which is our fault) but they did not even call us. When we realized we forgot them we called them right away and they told us they found them when we checked out. We checked out at 12, we called them at 5pm… when we got to the hotel they told us “it is not our policy to call”. When asked if they opened the passports they said they did and they stored it in security under our room number. When we asked for our passports back instead of serving us they asked us to go to the side so they can serve another customer. Passports are government documents. The staff is totally unprofessional and in the moon. The hotel is beautiful and the area is beautiful but because of the young staff and their lack of social skills and cues, I would not stay there again. There needs to be a manager on site who knows what is going on and who can properly train their staff. Unimpressed.
The highest rating!
From Brittany and Will to Rosa and Dave and Johnny and Alexa and Noah and Eric and many unnamed people, this stay was perfection. The hotel is really lovely and well maintained but the service is stellar. Every single person made it for an excellent stay. Will happily stay here again.
I loved all the architecture of the design, the style of the room, and the views out the window. I like the movie in the elevators, the hotel is beautiful, and the staff is great! The bed was very comfortable.
This is our 3rd stay and as always from the moment you check- in till checkout the staff is welcoming , accommodating and personable ! The hotel offers a variety of menus throughout the eateries in the hotel . The rooms are spacious , clean and updated. The hotel is situated in an excellent location walkable to many locations - the subway is in the area . It's across from the Chelsea Market and situated on the High Line . Shopping , restaurants and convent store are in walking distance . I highly recommend this property the staff is superb as the property offers so much throughput your stay ! Can't wait to return !
Great quick getaway with the family! You really feel taken care of here. So easy and luxurious! Can’t wait to go back!
The hotel is nice view is great but no heat the first night and then the room smoke alarm started beeping on the third night at 2am. Everything is a little tired in the rooms the fixtures are dinged probably could use a renovation.
The hotel is in a great location and the staff was great. Other than that not a great hotel for the price. The rooms are very small and pretty basic for the price. No place really to unpack so we had to live out of our suitcase. No drawers. A few hangers. One hook. Hated the open glass wall from the shower to the room. Did not allow for any privacy or light mitigation so no option but for everyone to get up at the same time. There was a nightclub upstairs. In property description it was said to be a roof top bar. Not the case. It was super expensive a $500 minimum and it was open until 4 am with dance music playing way after 5am. Called down to the front desk but they seemed incapable of shutting it down even after the bar was supposed to be closed at 4am.
Great stay
.
groovy- cool. nice folks!
Good
Very nice all around. Easy check in. Friendly & attentive staff. Excellent dining options. Clean room BEAUTIFUL VIEW of the river. Highly recommend.
Disappointing
Great location, very friendly and wonderful staff, loved elevator video! Room was very disappointing, may be we are boomer generation but a bed almost on floor and a see thru shower along with terrible view was very disappointing , not worth $600 a night!
Great part of NYC for exploring and the view from our room was beautiful! Could even see Statue of Liberty. Room was spacious, bed very comfortable and there was a proper tub! We ate at the hotel one night. The food was quite good and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to staying again!
High Line and Whitney Museum adjacent
The Standard is a great hotel to make as your home-base in the meat packing district. The staff was friendly and welcoming - and offered us a lovely room upgrade, to boot! The room and common areas were very clean and well maintained. I loved the stylish accommodations and the mesmerizing art installation on the elevators. The area has terrific attractions nearby and is safe to walk around.
Great place to stay for a quick visit to NYC. The staff were wonderful. The restaurants associated with the property were also great. Good food and the hostesses and waiters were all professional, helpful and low key.
Friendly staff , great area!
Love the standard high line everyone is amazing! The food is excellent, the staff top notch. The rooftop club is amazing. But the need to really update the suites. Lots of broken wood and bad paint overs etc.. needs so TLC!
Amazing views and amazing location
They gave me the worst room, I could not get up from one side of the bed, which is against the wall. No screen on the window of the bath room. After I asked, they changed a better room, but no door for the bathroom and no shower cap. My opinion, they give not so good rooms to the booking from Expedia. I am so sorry for this complaint.
Rooms are small, but doable. Bathrooms have no vent. So toilet water closet constantly emits smells into the room. Not nice! Sink and shower area is always damp as steam hasn’t been evacuated with no vents. Hotel is in a nice area of Chelsea. the property is very overpriced and was even further jacked up in price with the Thanksgiving 2024 holiday when we stayed.
We have stayed at this hotel for many years but this will be our last unfortunately. We love the area but the checkin for our 6 night stay was poor. The room was shabbier than normal and when I asked about changing the guy on reception was again not bothered. The bar was closed when we went on one evening despite saying that it was open. Just felt there was a lack of care so disappointed. The view from our room was good but otherwise the hotel is definitely not what it was.
Great staff, unfortunately there was no valet parking
Excellent.
Nice hotel in NYC
The staf in front disk seams tired ..
Over priced and over hyped. Weird hotel.
Hotel is in a great location with tons of walkable restaurants & shopping spots.
:)))
Excellent!
Excellent location Room very comfortable!
The Standard didn't disappoint in any way.
Lovely place. Check in service was great. Housekeeping service could have been better. Views from the suites are amazing. Very good stay!
It was great
Was in a great location and the room was amazing
checkin was slow however the gentleman that checked us in was very nice. Coffee in the morning should be labeled for what is hot water, decaf or regular and what type of milk. Not very helpful when coming down 2nd morning at 6:40 when milk was no longer, either. It would be helpful if they would give a little more if it's still within the time frame for coffee 5 am to 7am.
A bit pricey
The hotel was nicely located. Not sure was worth the price. The space was sufficient and the bed was comfortable. The shower was open to the room with a large glass window between it and the bed which was awkward as I was traveling with a friend.
One complaint - please explain access to the roof bar. It wasn't made clear to us that this space was available to us before the nightclub kicked in. Otherwise, the space was great and will be better when the construction is complete on the patio.
Amazing location. Loved the area. Highly recommend
No dresser
The hotel was fine. Nothing great, nothing awful. Strangely, there was no dresser. There was no where to put our things. There was a corner of the room that was oddly empty. It made me wonder if there was supppsed to be a dresser there.
Best hotel in the city
The room was very misleading. Queen size bed is not a queen…more like full size. There is very limited space to store clothes besides 3 small shelves in closet. Good for 1 person , not two. Stayed on the 10th floor and could hear the DJ from the rooftop bar until early morning hours. Would not stay there again. Not worth the price. Many other better places to stay.
Good experience
Need coffee machine in the room!
Great location, if there is coffee machine in the room that will be the best!
The property is very interesting design wise. The staff was chilly, but professional enough, but the cleanliness was lacking, especially at the price point.
Perfect stay in NY. Amazing
Perfect stay In NY. The room and the view was amazing
They gave us a room and that had shower we requested tub due to it being our anniversary and they sent someone up with key and switched our room immediately had such a wonderful stay
Shower was not working correctly but they fixed it. Bed was ok. I would have preferred a shower instead of the bath/shower.
Awesome!
Highly recommend this hotel. Property was great and walking distance from the water and surrounding parks. Very quite area for new your city.
Great view! Space was well used.
Great spot with really friendly staff! Be aware that there is zero privacy in your room so if you don’t mind showering in front of your friends you’re good! Luckily we don’t mind that. You can’t beat the location and the Rooftop is the best view in the city.
Truthfully a 5 star hotel experience!
Amazing stay, the king superior bed was extactly how it’s advertised; SUPERIOR! Amazing staff and they are always looking to lend a helping hand with luggage. Everything they do is intentional and done with compassion! I appreciate the love and the open arms for our stay! Can’t wait to be back again!
BEWARE:::There is a roof top club next to hotel's south side with thumping music till 3 AM request a room on north side but not to high up as they have their own roof top club with very loud music which can be heard in guest room on the top few floors. Several of the Staff were very accommodating while othrr couldnt be bothered Very expensive for the services provided. No direct access to the HighLine that it is named for.
Would stay again!!!
Great location. Comfortable bed. Room felt dated especially for the price. No smart TV, bathroom tiles are getting old, small refrigerator filled with expensive hotel goods. You're pretty much paying for the location. I would stay there again but id like to see some upgrades.
Love this hotel! Beautiful views, very clean, staff is very pleasant.

I was not expecting the shower to be in the open within the room. I did not like the AM coffee hours with lukewarm coffee. I did not enjoy being able to hear the night club as far away as my room on the 14th floor. I did enjoy that the lobby level bathrooms (that you need your room key to open) are closed at certain times.
