The contactless system worked great for our late arrival. Our room was clean and pleasant.

Expensive but it was quiet n safe.

Sat around and waited until 8am breakfast was never put out.

We were there to stay for a night on our annual fishing trip. Clean room, comfy bed, and helpfull staff made our quick stay very enjoyable.

It was in a good location for me.

Enjoyed my stay! I was meeting my half-sister for the first time, and the owner took the time to carry some comfortable chairs into my room so we could talk! There was no one at the front desk, but you can call to get in, and the owner comes quickly. Property was clean and the bed was cozy. Right in the center of town. The room was basic but had everything I needed. Will stay again!

The location was great. Breakfast was good. The beds did not seem like queen sized beds..smaller.

They send me messages asking what they can do to make my stay better. I said last time the cleaning staff was noisy in the morning. Can I get some earplugs? They said no. So I went half a block and bought some for a few bucks. Then they asked again. They said be honest. What can they do for me. I said I could use a load of laundry done if possible. I was in Fort Frances to work on my nephews shed. They didn’t answer. So what is the point of asking. Just blowing smoke up my ass.

Alexandria who greeted us also helped carry 2 of our heavier bags up to the second floor (no elevator). She also offered a dining suggestion of the Flint House which was a very good restaurant.

Clean room, pleasant staff, awesome breakfast lots of choices

Pleasantly surprised by the simple, yet clean and safe condition of the hotel. Everything was clean and up-to-date, without being over the top. Nice flat screen TV with a mini-fridge and keurig in the room as well. I would definitely recommend this to others! Also surprised to find a free breakfast in the morning :)

Simple but very clean hotel. Easy acc ss to boarder crossing as we continued our trip home.

This was a fishing trip layover....in at 1:00AM - out by 7:00AM, and their breakfast was so good we actually gained an hour by not having to stop at a restaurant for breakfast.

The place was extremely clean, staff was wonderful, nice continental breakfast, and walking distance to restaurants for dinner.

TV issue

Remote for tv was crap.

Loud partying in next room woke us up at 12:00a.m. I complained at 1:00 and again at 2:00, didn't get any sleep until 4:00. Nothing was done, no adjustments were made. Day clerk told me I should have called the police. Location was great, would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone who wants to sleep.

Small comfortable hotel. Clean and Spacious rooms. Good breakfast. Staff helpful in recommending restaurants in the area. Bedspreads could be changed for newer ones.

Enjoyable Stay -

We enjoyed our stay at the Sleepy Owl - clean, incl. breakfast - the location is perfect to walk to shops, around the town, walk to recommended restaurant, Flint House, for dinner on the same street.

The room was very clean and appealing to our family.

A great chioce. Clean and comfortable and a nice cold breakfast in very pleasant eating area. Parking is a bit wonky, though better than it looks at first No elevator, so some second floor guests might struggle. Two young women at front desk - not sure they could help with heavy luggage Excellent location. Good restaurant nearby. Very positive experience.

Nicest place in town

Nicest place in town as far as I can tell so far. And I've stayed in most of the nicer hotels in the area. Recently remodeled and updated.

The staff were very friednly & helpful Had bikes we could ride &the hotel is right on the main street & you can walk everywhere

Pleasant stay

The desk people were friendly when checking in. One of the women helped bring our bags upstairs. Parking was easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The internet worked well. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

The friendly staff were the best part about this place.

A wonderful Stay

The front desk changed our room to one with better accessibility for my wife even though they were all booked. The breakfast was amazing. Friendly staff.

Bathroom toilet bowl was not cleaned properly. It was stained when I arrived, stayed two nights and remained stained through two room cleanings. Took pictures. Room 212. Arrived on Saturday night expecting a Restaurant that was advertised only to find out that this is now closed on the weekends. Not as advertised.

Better than average for the area. Considering the options available in International Falls and Fort Frances, you could do a lot worse. You won't get luxury here, but you'll get a clean room and a generally friendly staff. Bed was way too soft for my liking and I could hear conversations and noises in the hallway at night. Still, it wasn't too pricey and has a good location downtown. Note the new name change to The Snowy Owl.

WOW! A beautifully renovated hotel with the best "free" breakfast anywhere. Skip in the big chain hotels in Fort Frances and go to the Makabi (The Sleepy Owl) on the sign. The rooms are large with modern fixtures. The breakfast was a full, hot breakfast with table service. What hotel offers that with the price of your room? Best deal in Fort Frances.

Very clean and quiet, within walking distance to the river and restaurants. Friendly staff at the front counter and very nice continental breakfast with a good variety of fresh fruits, yogurts, breads, cereals, banana bread, etc. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is well situated in the middle of town making it easy to the business area, the staff are pleasent and helpful, It's nice to have eating facilities in the building. The rooms although not exceptional in size are well maintained.
