Great location. Definitely recommend!
Centrally Located. Walk to theatre and dining. Pleasant staff.
Great location and beautiful room.
Not great
The stay was ok. We paid for a Deluxe room for 2 nights and it was not cheap. The room was tiny and looked nothing like the pictures. We will not return
Great weekend getaway...convenient location, nice amenities, very pleasant staff. Shopping, dining and entertainment options readily available and close proximity to vineyards. Fantastic experience!
Perfect!
Excellent hotel in a great location.
Great property, Great staff
Excellent check in - Emma was prompt and professional
Lovely spot. Close proximity to the theatre. Fireplace and whirlpool bath were nice touches. We had a problem with our toilet refilling every 10 minutes through the night. Very disruptive. Otherwise a nice stay
We loved the ambiance, the friendliness of the staff and the convenience of being across the street to the Shaw Festival where we go and watch a couple of plays a year.
Good
Really enjoyed our stay.
My wife and I live just across the border, but wanted a nice little getaway for a few days. This place was quiet, comfortable, and conveniently located. We'll absolutely stay again. Probably very soon.
The only inconvenience is the access to the rooms next to the main house. Narrow steep stairs and no elevators.
Great property!
.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating !
Lovely inn in a very picturesque small town! Immaculately clean room with nice amenities.
Very pleasing hotel to stay at. Food excellent and staff very accommodating.
Staying at The Shaw Club is a no-brainer if you are attending theater in Niagara on the Lake. Directly across the street from two of the three Shaw Festival theaters, it is a few easily walkable blocks from the third. For restaurants, there is the ever reliable Zee’s on site, and Niagara’s Finest Thai next door. Many other restaurants are within easy walking distance. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. Those in the Annex above the Thai restaurant require navigating some steep and narrow stairs, but the rooms in the main building are easily accessible, including by elevator. The reception staff is ready to help you with any needs. One of the perks of staying here is the free parking on site.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff.
Great centeal location.
Lousy shower system
The property is starting to show it s age. Rooms need to be modernize
It’s in a good location and convenient to local stores and restaurants. Facility is relatively old, but the look and feel are good value for the money. Room facing the main road was quite noisy and fixtures are okay and functional.
Our stay was very comfortable. We were able to charge our Tesla in the parking area. Niagara on the Lake is a beautiful town and very walkable from the hotel.
Lovely quiet place to stay. It wasn’t in the center of town which kept you away from all the hubbub and noise, but within easy walking distance to restaurants, bakeries, coffee and little local shops.
Staff was great and friendly, clean property, needs updates.needed help getting fireplace going, jets in tub didn’t work. Other then that our experience was great
We had a great weekend. It is the perfect spot if you are attending the Shaw Theatre. The staff is fantastic, always smiling and welcoming. We will be back!

Great location, easy parking
Very convenient to dining, Theater and shopping
Lovely hotel and well located to be able to stroll into the centre of town for the shops and restaurants
Great place to stay in Niagara on the Lake. Room was very spacious and the shower was great. The towels were extra thick and plush. I would recommend this place for easy walking to town, but from what I saw every place there is well located. If you want to experience a Hallmark kind of town, this is movie set waiting for a script. Also I highly recommend taking a bike trip or a slow drive through Niagara River Parkway. The wineries and gorgeous homes are incredible sites.
An overnight stay as we were going to see a play at the Shaw Festival. We were welcomed at the front desk and everything was to our satisfaction.
Excellent property. Close to all the shops and restaurants on the main strip. Only reason it’s not 5 star was the bathroom shower smelled a bit musty. We’ve stayed in other rooms and it was not an issue there. Other than that it was great. Would happily stay there again.
Had a great time at the Shaw Club...would definitely do it again!
Rather steep stairs to access the room. The website of the hoteldies mention that the room is stairs access but we did not think it woud
Lovely hotel & great location
Good location
The proximity of the Shaw Club hotel to the Shaw Theatre, just across the street is why I chose this hotel. The hotel amenities and restaurant were very good; I enjoyed them immensely. With respect to booking with Expedia , I would advise reviewing the detailed hotel daily rates when making a reservation as these rates fluctuate ( increase) on weekend and holiday dates. Other than that, I had a most enjoyable stay at the Shaw Club Hotel.
This hotel was average at best. Our room was exposed to quite loud HVAC/ventilation system/mechanical systems, the stairs to our room were quite steep (management did offer to carry our bags to the room for us). There were very few electrical outlets in the room and wifi connection was inconsistent. The room was not thoroughly cleaned when we arrived, garbage was found next to the bed while searching for an electrical outlet to charge a cell phone. On the positive side, the onsite restaurant Zees was quite good, there is plenty of accessible parking with an EV charging station and there is bicycle rental onsite.
Room in adjacent property did not have full length mirror.
Convenient. Friendly staff
Pretty n clean property
Nice place. Hotel staff was extremely nice. My only critique was that the bathroom shower could have been cleaner. There was residue and long hair on the wall which I knew wasn’t ours. Makes me wonder if the shower was wiped down?
Ok
The staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant. After 1 day remembered the morning room service coffee order. The waitstaff was equally accommodating. Well informed about the menu and ready to offer suggestions when asked. Luggage was dealt with graciously when help was needed. Desk staff went out of their way to acknowledge entries with a pleasant comment or two.
The hotel had a boutique feel with special touches. When we arrived in our room, the hotel had the lights and tv on, which made it feel much more warm and welcoming. Our room was very clean, and the hotel restaurant, Zees was fabulous. The staff was wonderful and very helpful and the free water bottles in the lobby was a nice touch. Well done Shaw Club hotel! We will definitely stay here the next time we are in NOL.
Great location for exploring NOTL. Close to all the shops and restaurants. Right across the street from the theatre. Good parking. Close driving distance to lots of wineries and Niagara Falls.
Excellent, we loved it!
Everything about the hotel was great
We had a great stay at this property. The staff were all very nice and the area gave us easy access to the local attractions. The room was very nice and comfortable.
Great
the restaurant in the hotel was lovely, food was very good, staff very friendly and service was excellent
All staff were friendly, accommodating, and personable. The room amenities were nice and the balcony was a nice touch.
Convenient location.
Hotel is average. We were in the rooms in the annex with steep stairs which was ok for us but would not be suitable for anyone not capable of lugging cases up steep stairs. Whilst I think the property makes it clear there are no lifts it is not clear that these rooms are in an annex. Nor is it clear that these rooms are above a Thai restaurant so there is the constant aroma of Thai cooking which may not please everyone! The rooms are clean but are past their best and due an update pretty soon. We had to call house keeping for fresh towels as they don’t automatically change them as part of daily housekeeping. There is ample parking, the location is convenient and staff were friendly.
Great bathroom.
Great location. Great town!
A
Very good
We loved our stay at The Shaw Hotel. Very friendly staff! The only negative was there wasn’t an elevator and we had to carry our bags upstairs. The stairs were also very steep!
Fantastic place, easy finding and access. Beautiful surroundings.
We stayed in the Annex of the property and I wish I had spent a few more dollars to stay in the main hotel. I'm in great shape, but the climb to the second floor on a steep staircase was challenging with a suitcase. (They did give notice that it was stair access only.) The room was spacious and very clean but there were odd design choices. The bathroom was big but had a smallish shower with oddly placed shampoo, etc. and there was no space around the vanity to store any toiletries. That said, the staff was amazing and they have EV charging stations on the property! This was a very nice surprise and saved us having to look around for one. It's a great location right across from the Shaw Festival main theater and shopping is an easy walk. We'd come back!
Some of the lighting fixtures and bathroom fixtures were confusing to us. The bed was very high for my wife to get onto.
We had lots of good dinners out, but the hotel restaurant, Zee’s, was our favorite. I also liked the comfy bed. Nespresso in the room was nice. Water bottles and coffee were available in the lobby too. It is in a great location to walk to all the shops and restaurants.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Shaw for a night as an end of summer getaway and we loved it. It’s quiet, cozy, extremely clean, and conveniently situated on the Niagara-on-the-Lake strip steps away from the main shops and restaurants. It’s also minutes away from wineries by car! Staff were helpful when needed, and the room was clean, modern, and comfortable. Would not hesitate to come back!
Charming little hotel! Within walking distance from all the shops on Queen street. Highly recommend!
A great place to stay.
The people were excellent and dealt with minor issues quickly and professionally
Very nice hotel and terrific staff
Loved it! Have stayed here several times. So convenient to everything in NOTL!
It was ok.
Loved the flowers outside. Walking distance to the shops and restaurants.
The room was perfect and it had a nice big TV, there is a small safe provided for us inside the wardrobe and the air conditioner kept the room nice and cold. The hotel offers free parking for its residences and they also have bicycles that you can rent too. At 2 AM we sat on the open patio and watched the stars for a while. A perfect time and a perfect place.
So convenient to the theaters, restaurants and shopping. The restaurant on the premises is excellent, but there are also many others in NOTL to choose from. The coffee lounge in the lobby is convenient, which is good, because the little coffee pods in the room are inconvenient and tiny.
Very comfortable room in good location. However, I can no longer handle the stairs (16 steep steps) and will not be returning.
Friendly
I liked the location and cleanliness. I did not like that our room was in an annex, on the second floor, bo elevator and no amenities without goi g outside and to the main building
Nice Staff. But the hotel is not a 4 star stay.
Clean, modern, fantastic property. Loved the jacuzzi tub in the room and the Nespresso machine. Easy to park when arrived early on check-in day and left the car later after check-out as well. Staff were very friendly!
We loved the location, The staff and Zees. The a/c was very loud making sleep difficult. The grounds were lovely.
Pleasant older small hotel. Good staff. Needs some updating, bathroom especially Can't believe tv was not HD.
Amazing time at Niagara on the lake..will definitely stay at Shaw club again
Excellent location -- across the street from the Festival theatre and easy walking distance to the centre of NOTL. Hotel lacks an on-site exercise facility and rooms have a particular cleaning product odor. But otherwise a pleasant place to stay.
One of the 2-3 very nicest properties we've stayed in over the decades we've been coming to NOTL and the Shaw. The Shaw Club itself is very nicely maintained and each room/suite is outfitted with the "right" items and amenities. Offsetting the hotel portion of the property was a notable blemish resulting from a 4-guest dinner in Zee's that was both endless (we really don't care about fusses in the kitchen!) and very poorly handled by the wait staff. See our separate review of Zee's for details. Summary? We'd definitely return The Shaw Club Hotel for future visits to NOTL, but Zee's certainly dropped the overall NF experience a few notches.
We had a very good stay. Super convenient location for walking through town or attending theatre. Room was modern but on the small side. Friendly staff. Only real complaint is it was expensive for a weekend in august for a small room in a hotel with few ammenities. For the same price range there are resort like hotels with pools etc
Staff were phenomenal! Lovely people and so happy to help
We had a wonderful time, the location is right in the heart of everything. The hotel was beautiful.
Its just OK
When u open the door u are pleased, the room was renovated... BUT when u look the paint was trying to hide a multitude of sins. Tile in terrible shape. Bathroom is partially renovated. Disappointed 😞
The property was well maintained, the food in the restaurant. The staff was polite and answered all our questions.
The staff were professional and friendly. The rooms were well maintained. The location was quiet. It was walkable to everything. The gardens were gorgeous!
Towels weren’t changed when the room was cleaned
Excellent location and close to everything! We had a nice stay.
Our stay was incredible. We drove in from Pennsylvania/USA- I booked our room at the Shaw Club to celebrate my husband's birthday and the staff went above and beyond in every possible way! From the moment we arrived, we were kindly welcomed (with our dog) and entered our room to find sweet little surprises. They provided a dog bed, potty baggies, treats, and a birthday card with jam for my husband. The room was nice and we appreciated the easy walk-out patio (ground floor), but the room felt humid and had a musty smell. We later discovered our sliding door was broken (would not lock), so this made sleeping uncomfortable. I asked the staff that night if it would be possible to switch to another room the next day and not only did they accommodate my request, but they gave us a free upgrade to a SUITE. The suite was immaculate, very clean and the best room we have ever stayed in. Truly a blessing. Words cannot describe how grateful we are. The staff truly turned around everything for the better and made our stay worthwhile. It was hard to leave and we hope to return again in the future!
My only complaint about the hotel is that we stayed in an annex room, which is over the Thai food restaurant. There is an exhaust fan (I believe) for that restaurant that causes a bad Sympathetic Vibration in the room. I was thankful when it turned off at about 11:30 PM. It was a little on the annoying side. It would seem to me that something was a little out of balance, and that should be checked to correct the problem.
Great service and location
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. Everything was great. Loved the convenient free parking and easy accessibility to the heart by f Niagra on the lake.
Toilet was always running and bathroom sink was very slow to drain.
Steep staircase
We’re not told about the steep staircase we needed to climb to reach our room. Room was outdated and there is no counter space in the bathroom.
Cost Modern
