This was in ideal place to go and chill. Great food and beautiful scenery. I woukd definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing getaway.
The property gave you outstanding views from every angle. It was beautiful inside and outside. The food choices were amazing and presentation was perfect. The staff in every area were superb in their manners, knowledge and service. We look forward to returning. The Salt House is a star in our memory!
Fabulous rooms spacious quiet and very comfortable. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Good in parts
The bedroom had limited natural light but despite this the decor was mainly dark green This made for a drab feeling. The same colours in the dining room and bar work because of the excellent natural light. The bedroom was much too warm and it found it impossible to adjust the thermostat. And the window lock was jammed so i couldnt open it.On the positive side the staff were pleasant and efficient and the bar and dining rooms are perfect. We only ate breakfast and the food was first class. Looking forward for a chance to enjoy lunch/dinner.
Salthouse Hotel
Top class hotel with excellent service from friendly staff. Beautiful view from restaurant.
We enjoyed everything At Salthouse. Perfect Stay!
Very disappointingly my room backed on to a building site. I had constant drilling from 0900-1700 every day, and workmen arriving at 0745 outside my bedroom window, so couldn't risk opening my curtains
The rooms were good, clean and comfortable. We arrived with a very sick son, the staff treated us like family and gave us all the help we could ask for. Ballycastle is a lovely town and well worth visiting along with the entire Causeway Coastal Route.
Fantastic Salthouse
Fantastic hotel, amazing service, beautiful views & excellent food!
Amazing Hotel and the views on a Sunny day are remarkable, well worth the stay
Beautiful property. I like their eco status
Cracking views
When booking, we had no idea the property was so new. It was in a beautiful location, scenic, plenty of free parking. Breakfast was excellent, and we ate at the pizza place instead of in the formal restaurant only because we were not very hungry.
Night away
A really lovely nights stay away, cosy spa, lovely decor. Lookout restaurant lovely. Breakfast excellent and lovely staff
Quiet relaxing post Xmas stay
Excellent stay at The Salthouse. We visited a few days after Christmas for a relax and recharge and it was perfect for that. The bar area was well decorated and lovely atmosphere by the fire. Spa was small but restricted numbers meant it wasn’t busy. Meal in the main restaurant was nice if not spectacular but service, drink selection and atmosphere made it a very pleasant evening. Recommend for couples or small groups.
A fine modern hotel with superb views of Fairhead, Rarthlin Island and beyond. What made our stay special was undoubtedly the staff in the restaurant and bar. All of the young waitresses had a great sense of humour, balanced with good manners, and were able to engage in appropriate banter with us. Stuffiness was distinctly absent and will encourage us back again. All-in-all a wonderful experience.
Rooms a bit to hot
Very poor customer service.
Perfect couples getaway
We stayed one night as a couple and paid 20 pounds for one hour in the thermal suite which was great value. Didn't have time for any spa treatments. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, as was breakfast. Everything was fantastic and would definitely return.
A truly memorable stay in Ballycastle!!
Was blown away straight away by the amazing views across to Rathlin and Torr Head. Salthouse layout and style is unique and first class. Staff were just wonderful and service was second to none. Food was outstanding - amazing dinner and breakfast delicious with particular emphasis on presentation and quality. A truly memorable stay - will definitely be back!
Excellent night away
We had an amazing night! The location, the setting and the scenery were all super good. The facilities were great, we really enjoyed the spa (extra charge) the room was really nicely decorated but no bath tub (room 115) we were a little disappointed as we thought it would have a bathtub but apparently only 2 rooms have due to the eco friendly efforts. Plenty of free parking, the Lookout pub was very nice and clean with great scenery and the food was excellent and cocktails delightful. It set our stay off very nicely. The downside to the stay was the food in the main restaurant, very bland and tasteless, we both thought the same, they say breakfast is made to order, but tasted like it was pre-warmed and like dinner was tasteless. It was the only downside to a super, super stay.
Staff really friendly and helpful , hotel beautiful. Room gorgeous
Staff were lovely and extremely helpful
Spectacular view from the restaurant.
First Class Hotel
Short 2 day break in Ballycastle and wanted a different quality hotel. The Salthouse is excellent and is well located within walking distance of the town. The views are amazing and the whole experience exceeded expectations. Well done - will be back.
Top drawer
Went for a rare date night with the missus, lovely spot, nice and relaxing, staff very friendly, food and service was amazing
Gorgeous Boutique Hotel on The North Coast
Super location overlooking Fairhead, Rathlin Island & Scotland on a clear day. Lovely common area to sit in ... Inside & out. Rooms nicely appointed.
The Best 🏨
Amazing
An amazing one night stay
We had a really great stay at the salthouse. It was my first visit. Its a beautiful hotel and we loved the thermal suite. It would be great if its use was included in the hotel stay. Would also be lovely to have a swimming pool.....but maybe that is in future plans?
Loved our stay. Very new and clean. Came as a family of 5 with two rooms. Very quiet. Loved the hot tub and the views . Had dinner on property both nights . Excellent food. We were there on vacation and rode horses all day both days
Wonderful place to stay!
The property's interior was updated and very nice. Excellent room. View from dining room is fabulous.
Very relaxing
Amazing place! The area in general is like living a dream… Ireland has been an amazing experience, this area and this hotel are espectacular! Staff, location, sites to visit near by, food I mean like a dream! I strongly recommend this hotel and to come visit Ireland!
We stayed for two nights. The hotel is situated with superb views and the the decor and gardens are beautiful. The staff were friendly. We used the spa which is not included. It was fine but we asked for towels and then none were brought until we asked again. We had dinner in the restuarant. We ordered a cocktail which didnt arrive until we asked again for it but we were billed twice. Once on the room bill (alongside ither drinks which weren't ours) and on the dinner bill. Dinner took over an hour and was cold. The staff were great and removed the items without being asked when we said dinner was fine. Breakfast was ok on the first day but improved on the quieter second day. Cakes etc looked fantastic. We were given some complimentary macarones for a special stay which were lovely and a very nice touch but the used plate wasnt removed when the bins were emptied/ milk refreshed. I'm not sure if it is a covid measure but the bed wasnt made again either. Overall a beautiful hotel
Very clean and stunning views
Big bath room but without bath . Generally is okay
Beautiful food, amazing view & lovely staff. Not keen on the external corridors which meant wearing a coat to go for dinner in the hotel restaurant
Fabulous spa break. Highly recommend the hotel, the food & the staff.
excellent views,
Superb views of coast to east of ballycastle, including fairhead. Food was excellent, although some variation to the menu would be good for guests staying 2 or more nights. Easily accessible to ballycastle.
Away to go to get up to scratch
I’ve already email the manager to give feedback and I’ve heard nothing back from them. We couldn’t get a drink inside the bar as it was booked with people eating even thou we were residents. We had to sit outside in courtyard with coats and heaters on which wasnt pleasant. The smallest pot for side sauce which didn’t cover half the steak and the charged a premium for an extra sauce than wasn’t much bigger. £20 pp for use of hotel facilities which is not worth the money as we feel should be available to residents. Very expensive for what you actually get. Rooms where lovely but they have a lot listening to customers to get feedback.
Post pandemic issues?
Beautiful resort with great service and a great restaurant. However, after specifically booking a "superior: twin room with an ocean view we were disappointed to initially be offered a single room and then moved to a twin room with no ocean view. Also disappointing was the fact use of the spa was not included in the price and we were limited to a one hour stay. We were delayed making our reserved time slot due to the room mix up yet didn't receive any extra time or much of an apology. I feel some of these issues may be due to post pademic re-opening and this is a beautiful property with very friendly staff but at this price point I hope for some improvements!
Superb styling.
A great stay
A good hotel with good food. Overall the young staff were very efficient and more than happy to sort my questions. Although a small hotel with limited spa facilities we enjoyed a relaxing overnight stay with the unbelievable setting the icing on the cake.
It's a lovely property, but the staff lacks friendliness and warmth. And tho well-staffed, you have to hunt down servers constantly.
Exellent hotel, staff friendly and helpful, great food, spectacular scenery, very clean and above all quiet with only 24 rooms its perfect for a good quiet, relaxing stay.
Was a little taste of paradise - loved it!!!
8.5/10
Overall great however views from the rooms are not great, the area in sight from the rooms could do with some landscaping work. That is fairly offset by the outstanding views from the restaurant and Spa.
Fantastic hotel
We loved the Salthouse. Food excellent & even a glass of mulled wine & a mince pie, great touch. We are looking forward to going back in Spring hopefully. Thanks all for such a fab stay.
