Property is a bit dated, but staff is nice. Rooms are big and beds are comfortable. Time share sellers are somewhat intense, but entertainment is nice, also for the kids. Pool could be warmer and jacuzzi is absolutely not a jacuzzi (just another cold Pool). Food is ok. Weird mix, no fruit or very little mornings, a bit more in the afternoon. Usually good taste, but servers were a bit disorganized. Pool palapa ended up being the fastest, nicest service.

We expected a beach and ocean access. There was no beach and poor ocean access.

Overall we really enjoyed this resort. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The concierge desk is just a somewhat helpful timeshare pitch, but they still make reservations and provide information, and were fairly easy to evade the sales pitch. There is no nightlife so if that’s what you’re after this is not the place for you. Same with the beach- if that is important you will be disappointed. The pools were nice, there was ceramic painting onsite every day, the kids club activities looked fun, but our children never took part. The market onsite is convenient, fairly well stocked, and the prices aren’t terrible. The buffet was average. The Mexican night was disappointing, the BBQ and Italian nights were quite good, and breakfast was good. The pizza at the pool as well as the burgers were quite good. The price was right, the location is decent and we would stay again.

This was a wonderful property for our family of five! We had a great villa that allowed us to have two bedrooms and then a common area in the middle. We loved this! We have been to many all-inclusive, and this was a great choice! The food was very good and the staff was amazing. Thank you!!

We LOVE this resort. It’s our second year back and it was even better than before. Food was great, fresh and tons options for family members ranging in age from 5 to 75! Multiple areas for live music and entertainment every night. Extremely clean and well kept rooms and grounds. The staff MAKE this resort. Incredibly personable, friendly, and helpful. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. Only downside is the beach, but hopefully it will be a work in progress over the next few years.

Food chooses limited and the nicer restaurants that we worked hard to even get into because they hardly seat anyone is the 2 times someone in our group got sick!

Facility and grounds are immaculate and very well maintained. Amenities are very nice and clean. Food and service are hit or miss. Beach is unfortunately not very good, heavy sand erosion, rocks, roots and rough surface. This is not a true "all inclusive" but rather a "time share" which tries to double-up as such. This creates inconveniences which are not mentioned upfront and are very irritating when they occur. Like, you may have to change a room in the middle of your stay or your room keys stop working because the system resets all room codes on Saturday afternoon and requires you to go to front desk for a reprogram.

Property was good. Beach was not. It was small and a lot of debris. Also the steak restaurant had steak that had to be paid for even though we had the all inclusive package which was disappointing.

Wonderful Christmas at Royal Haciendas

Our family of four had an amazing 2-week stay at The Royal Haciendas over Christmas. We enjoyed pretty much everything about the resort and we will definitely go back! The pricing through Hotels.com was also the best available and we received a resort credit for being a Silver Member. The food was the only redeeming part of this resort. There was almost no beach and the water was not swimmable. It was actually dangerous with the debris in the water. We constantly were harassed to buy a time share. When we did sit down to hear the timeshare they bent the truth about the discounted stay to stay there next year at a discount. I would not recommend this resort

Great place for families

The beach was rocky. They also require you to move rooms for their timeshare customers on saturday.

We had a decent experience staying at the Royal Haciendas. The food is good especially the Asian fusion restaurant. But be aware it is really hard to get a table there as it is always fully booked. The beach is non existent don’t come here if you planning to spend time on the beach. A big portion of the beach has been claimed by the ocean and the resort has been left with a little to almost no beach. That small beach area is not maintained at all.

Thebfacilities are clean. The room for a family of 4 with 2 murphy beds were good spacous and clean. Access to beach is good. 2 large swimup bar pools and 2 large lap pools were very clean and pleassnt

Property was good, but the breakfast and lunch in and dinner needs lots of help. They do not keep up with the food. Lots of empty empty. The place can be a 5 stars if they do something with the buffets. A lot of comments with the food. Do not recommend anyone to this place And the timeshares ( smith ). They almost grab you by the throat if you say no. Smith was very very pushy

If you’re coming to Cancun to spend time on the beach, this is not the resort for you. The beach here is non-existent. It’s filled with tree branches, trunks, and lots of rocks, making it unsafe to enter the water. Specially with kids. Additionally, the service around the pools was disappointing. Many of the waiters were rude and seemed overwhelmed. For example, I asked for pizza for my kids, and the waiters would respond rudely, saying they’d get it but that it would take a long time because they had to walk across the resort. While I understand their workload, the tone and attitude were unnecessary. Be cautious when booking, as we were charged an additional $700 upon arrival. Apparently, Expedia had incorrectly listed my teenager as being 12 years old or under, even though the correct age was reflected on the flight tickets. The resort refused to help and insisted on the additional charge. The food and drinks were also underwhelming compared to other all-inclusive resorts I’ve visited. One night, after returning late from Xcaret, we tried ordering room service. We started calling at 10 p.m. to place an order before the menu changed at 10:30. Despite multiple attempts and even asking the receptionist for help, no one answered, and we ended up going to bed hungry.In summary, between the non-existent beach, poor service, extra charges, and mediocre food, I cannot recommend this resort. There are far better options in Cancun.

This resort is under rated. For us this resort is a 10 ! We have been traveling to Cancun since 1990! This resort experience was the very best. The food is outstanding and the property is impeccable. They were booked and it did not feel crowded. The staff was so kind especially Rapheal who was our concierge! I had a heart attack the last day of our visit and the staff was phenomenal We can not thank them enough!

Great staff, room services 24*7 and nicely maintained property- rooms, pools and overall resort is very clean. Restaurants in the resort are excellent in terms of service, menu and ambience Few things that didnt go well are 1. Delivery for room services takes over an hour 2. Lot of debris on the beach due to the recent storm 3. Limited cocktail options although you pay for all inclusive

Stay was great, Food was good. Lot of options. Great service and very clean amenities. All great! Only thing is the meeting they invited for 90 minutes for some presentation and extended it by 1 hour which made us to cancel other appointments and had cascading effects.

Staff is very friendly and courteous. Property is clean. Beverages were not good. For smokers, smoking areas are very limited and small. Brekfast was average. Lunch and dinner in general was good and delicious. There is no outdoor bar after 6 pm.

I went with my family and we had lots of fun and it’s a wonderful place to send quality time. We love the service and food.

The landscaping is lovely and the grounds are very clean and well kept. The pools are great, it was nice that they raised the water temperature for the last couple of days. It was nice to have the paths to stroll in the evenings. We enjoyed our meals, mostly at the Papala del Sol. Cornelio provided exceptional service, as did Luis. And Emiliano was always so cheerful. We did manage to get reservations at Los Murales and it was also very good, great service by Leonel, as well as the Hibachi restaurant. We really enjoyed the music and entertainers at the various restaurants. Our room was very comfortable and well kept by Adriana. The only annoyance was the clanging sound of the dive boat oxygen tanks being loaded when the went out in the early mornings. This didn't happen every day, thankfully. Edin at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. He is extremely efficient and professional. Thank you Edin, hope to see you again soon! Angelina, the supervisor at Palapas kept a close eye on the operations and Luisa was a great hostess. We went to Aquasizes led by Miguel and BJ, they are so energetic it is impossible to keep up but we enjoyed trying! Very humourous. The only issue we had was an interaction at the Luna Grill. Server Samuel was rude and condescending. Details are shared elsewhere. Elsie at the beverage bar at Papala made excellent healthy drinks and always had a smile. Overall, we had a great vacation and hope to return soon.

Clean, well maintained property. Staff is good. The only thing I don’t like is the time-share propaganda when I just wanted a relaxing vacation. But that’s par for the course at these all-inclusives I guess. We got free stuff for attending the sales meeting but won’t do one again.

My family and I had an amazing time at the Royal Haciendas. I feel like everything about the resort exceeded my expectations. The buffet was excellent, the a la carte restaurants were amazing (and easy to book - even for me as a non member). The room service, pool service, and beach service was top notch. And all the physical parts of the resort were as pictured. There were no surprises, everything felt new and fresh. Even the well acclaimed weakness of the resort - the beach - was wonderful. Yes it was small and damaged, but barely any other guests used it. The sand to guest ratio was amazing! I had a few small issues (issues with my second room and trouble getting my kids into the kids club) but these were minor issues and anything I raised to management while I was there they started working on immediately. I feel like the best and most overriding experience I felt was that the staff and management of Royal Haciendas really care and take pride in the property. And it shows.

Great for families that do not want to move around… Good was good, maybe limited at buffet lunch and dinner, but great at breakfast… many pools for kids and adults and staff was great, always bringing drinks or food asked. Would stay there many more times if coming back. Perfect if the person has a car

Excellent customer service. The property is very well maintained and the restaurants provide a very wide selection of meals. The beach has not recovered from the hurricane; however, laying out on the beach is nice. It's just not in condition to run or play on the beach.

The beach area is unsafe with sharp objects ( roots of broken trees and bushes) sticking out. That needs to be cleaned.

It was a good stay

Staying at the Royal Haciendas was lovely but there are some pros and cons you should way depending on what you like and value the most! This is based off our all inclusive package. Pros: -amazing staff and service. The staff here are very kind and very attentive. You get drink and food service at the pool and beach. And free room service with the all inclusive package. -great food. The buffet is smaller than I expected but all the food that is there and at all the restaurants is so delicious. There’s 2 pool side snack bars and 2 A La Carte restaurants, the buffet and lobby bar. We didn’t eat a single bad thing here - pools are very clean and nice to swim in - lots of activities you can participate in Pro/Con: the beach area is very small and rocky but still beautiful to look at. Because it is rocky is makes for really good snorkeling. But if you want to swim in the ocean it is not the best. However a little walk away and your at another resorts beach which is beautiful and perfect to swim in. Cons: - mattresses are somewhat uncomfortable and hard. - no night life. Things close down here pretty quick. There was 2 shows at night but most are over around 9/9:30 ish. There is no permanent stage but one that they temporarily set up. -The lobby bar also closes at 10:30 so not much drinking past then. No 24 hr bar. - little foliage around the resort so there’s not a ton of wild life, only local birds that we saw. Overall we had a great experience!

Huge property with something for everyone

The property is nice. We received a friendly welcome and a VIP room upgrade. I wish we had been informed ahead of time that the beach is not accessible due to strong currents that made the beach unsafe. Overall, the staff is friendly and they have a nice program for kids. The food was average.

This hotel is very clean and safe, staff is really nice overall a good place. However, it's super quiet, if your looking for music and entertainment this place is not for you. It more of a retirement environment with older people in their late 50s. It not bad if this is what you like. The food at the buffet could be a bit better, but for families its really safe.

The moment you set foot they pair you up with a time share agent. They harrass you by following you to your room and they even cancel your reservation to the two restaurants that are falsely advertised as being available as inclusive. You are on your own after that, no one is there to walk you around the premise and explain about the place. The experience ruined our vacation from day one.

Everything was great except for the fact that the room i stayed in or better said the bed i stayed in had bed bugs so i woke up with a lot of bites on my legs other then that everything else was great .

Property was excellent with good food, nice service and staff, great gym, super clean and well maintained. The only drawback is the beach which has been affected by erosion, bit we were still able to enjoy it.

Excelent quality and service

The property was great very clean and friendly staff. The only negative was the beach it was not clear beach like on the pictures. My kids were looking forward to being in the beach but it was full of what looked like wood or tree roots. This was a big let down for us.

Manuel at the pool bar was awesome. The beach has been destroyed by hurricanes. They are working to restore it but not much of a beach to walk or sit on.

The pictures are misleading when it comes to the beach. There is hardly and beach and the beach they had is terrible. Bring water shoes because you are going over rocks and mud just to get into the water. The dinner options are limited. If you are not a member it is hard to get reservations in the restaurants. To me it seemed like unless you were a member, staff was not very friendly and would go to members to help first before coming to me and my family.

We visited shortly after a hurricane and the beach was closed the week we were present. We had been here before and the beach was nice and close and well maintained. This time most of the beach was washed away. Still a great visit the beach was the only down side.

It's a Time Share property, I would've preferred disclosure on that, not a big fan of time shares.

Liked... Nice place for a visit, it was off season so it was not crowded. Clean and safe.... swimming pools and other areas. Didnt like.... many hotels in this area dont have good beaches, murky watter and stones.... this one was not an exception.... they try to fix it but you cant fight nature. my kids had to stay in swimming pools only.

Our experience at the Royal Haciendas was outstanding. We travelled as a group of 12, including 4 children under six. My family got a free upgrade to a suite so we could be in close proximity to the rest of our group. The room was awesome with a kitchenette and Murphy beds for the kids. This was a great upgrade for us and one that I didn’t think I needed, but was so helpful for the week. The food was also excellent. The main buffet was “ok” for breakfast, but I really enjoyed their omelette and pancake stations and fresh juice bar. The dinners, however, were superb. The main buffet has different themes every night for dinner. Our personal favourite was Asian night. The two à la carte restaurants were also excellent although we had to do some finagling to get reservations. The pools were great and well-maintained and the grounds were immaculate. Very small complaint about the unsightly construction occurring directly behind the resort. There were some half finished walls and buildings that backed directly onto some of the rooms. Also six of our party members placed in rooms that backed onto a parking lot so they could hear trucks backing up quite often early in the morning. These were very minor complaints though compared to the overall quality and satisfaction of our stay. The value for money was extremely good. I would recommend the resort to my friends and family!

I think the property is great, it was my second year in a row staying here and I’d definitely go back.

We had a wonderful stay with our toddler. We didn’t make any reservations for dining but enjoyed the buffet and poolside options. The main dining area is right on the ocean. It is so clean! Staff are always around cleaning everything—even the fountains. Staff were also so friendly. We appreciated every waiter and especially Mario. Rosy at the front desk helped us with extended late check out so our toddler could nap while we waited for our shuttle to a late flight. It’s great to have so many pools so you can have just the right poolside experience to suit your tastes. The beach is smaller than pictures due to erosion, and may no longer be suitable for swimming. There was lots of debris due to recent storms. Many sloped walkways and elevators make getting around with a stroller easy. The resort is one of many in a secure compound. Chicken fingers were weirdly good. Overall it’s a smaller resort than we’ve previously experienced, but this was great for us…no trekking across huge properties to eat.

GREAT STAY

As of 11/2024, the beach was severely eroded from hurricane Helene making it inaccessible / red flagged with only a few rows of chairs available for the beach so all you can do is swim in the pool.

The beach was not in good condition but the resort was nice. Don’t come here if it’s a beautiful beach you’re looking for.

We had nothing but a fantastic time here! From Alex at check in to Juan and Hector at the restaurants. Octivas was a fantastic concierge as well. The resort was extremely clean and very family friendly. We came with two little and they enjoyed the amenities of the kids club and the kids pool. We will absolutely be back and let everyone know of this gem of a resort so they can have a wonderful experience as well!

The hotel was nice. I loved the green areas. Very clean, the staff was súper friendly the rest was very quiet. We did have a great time as a family vocation if you are looking for a relaxing place this is your resort if you are looking for fun and some entertainment not here .overall the vacation was good I will have to mentioned 2 things that I was very disappointed. Since you are not a member you have a lot of things that you don’t get and they know because your bracelet has a different color. Like some beers and drinks. Also in the room you are not allowed to get more than 2 basic beers and soda in your fridge. The other thing is I will prefer a little more music and entertainments around the pools all day. The most that they do is morning exercises and volleyball in another pool. I think they should have at least the music on all day. The beach no good at all. Very dirty and poor maintenance.
