Though we waited pretty long for check in, reception staff were kind and helpful in explaining to us and making sure we were comfortable while waiting. Celebrated our anniversary here and the room was nicely prepared by the reception team, appreciate it loads! Disappointed we could not earn loyalty points for this stay though

Hotels in Shenzhen are not really rated at the same level, in terms of stars, as those in many other metropolitan areas. 5-star ratings here seem to be more like 4-star elsewhere. This Ritz had great service but the room itself is not that well maintained. My biggest gripe is the ventilation in my room (which was upgraded for free to the executive level) was poor. When I entered into the room there was a musty smell. The room was on the warm side throughout the night even though I cranked temperature down to 19C. Very spacious room and bedroom. I got the room on Expedia for a good price so overall it was a good stay. Just don’t expect your typical Ritz I guess.

Great lobby, helpful staff, but dated rooms.

Excellent customer services, however it’s a shame that the room had a couple of issues. Squeaky bathroom door, faulty TV remote control, the room was dated and the furnitures have seen better days. It would be okay if we were staying at a 3 or 4* hotel but given it was Ritz Carlton, it had really failed to meet our expectations.

Upgraded to free breakfast for two in welcome. Changed room due to air-conditioning was not working.

The package includes lunch and dinner, it provides lounge access instead with snacks and desserts. It’s tricky and I feel cheated. The blame falls on both Expedia and Ritz Carlton.

I was disappointed that my room was old and furniture were rift. The guy who took my luggage into the room went away and found me another room but it was not much better. The worst came when I tried to book a cab service to HK airport. The reservation was clear and the prices were agreed upon. On the next day, the concierge tried to increase the price to 4 times higher but I refused. I had to find another way to go to HK airport myself at the last minute!

Need to improve cleanliness

This hotel is definitely not a Ritz Carlton. When compared to the one in Hong Kong, this feels more like a four star hotel. Room is not clean. Will definitely stay somewhere else next time.

Its location is very convenient. Excellent service. I also got a free upgrade.

Services so nice

The staff here were so friendly and helpfull. The moment I got out of our car my young daughter needed to use the bathroom and there were three ladies that helped take her to the bathroom while my wife parked the car in the hotel basement.

Fave Hotel in SZ

We had an in red second staycation at the Ritz. The staff are phenomenal and the service and welcoming atmosphere are unmatched. We were so comfortable in our beautiful room, and we love the location.

Exceptional service

We are spending 3 nights every 2 months or so just to experience a level of service that is simply exceptional. Every member of staff from check in to the cleaner understands how to treat guests. We now stay in the Club area where the meals offered are good quality and nothing is too much for them. We spend time around the pool doing work where it is is quiet and the small touches like bottles of water sun screen cream are available for free. If we could afford we would stay longer and more often. The gym is well equipped and again water is available for free. I used the sauna and whirlpool area which is also freely available for guests.

A bit disappointed

Pretty good stay, but I honestly expected a bit more from this place. I went for my birthday, and while I didn’t expect anything out of the ordinary, I was a bit disappointed that this went unnoticed. Pros: Amazing pool, well-appointed room, gorgeous views Cons: Bar was unable to figure out how to make me a martini on the rocks. I gave up and left. Dilapidated facade. A bit dated. Overall, it was a nice stay, but the price wasn’t justified. I think there are plenty of other options that are just as nice at a much more reasonable price.

Perfect Getaway

It was a perfect getaway for our anniversary weekend. The service and staff were incredible from before our arrival, setting up a lovely surprise in the room, and throughout our stay, every staff member knew us, and said happy anniversary. The room was so comfortable, the views great, the location ideal, and the food was delicious.

Great choice in Shenzhen

Business trip to Shenzhen, my first trip to China, where most people speak no English and standards are not always up to pay, so staying g at the Ritz was a big plus. Hotel is well located, rooms are spacious and elegant, staff and service is A+. Definitely a good place to stay in this city of 20 M people.

Fantastic stay

Very amazing stay. We had booked a hotel nearby but it was too horrendous so we moved over to Ritz Carlton for two nights. Service was amazing. They upgraded our room as we were considering whether to book one more night and our original room would be unavailable. There was an issue with the second tv in the washroom and they fixed it very promptly. We ordered room service breakfast and it was of good quality. The location is between two large malls with lots to eat and explore. Also right beside the convention and exhibition centre so very convenient. The staff were extremely polite and courteous. It definitely matches to the standard of an international brand hotel. Thank you for the great stay! the bathtub feature was really tremendous with a lovely very instagram type photo opportunity.

Excellent service

Great location, breathtaking views of the Shenzhen skyline Lightshow, fantastic service.

Such a great experience staying at Ritz there. No doubt to be there again. Love the way they build up every single small details such as perfectly fit to all amenities in the room. Perfect view enjoying outside view. Final touch was a warmth welcome from staffs there with great smiles. Comfy and never feel boring.

Great location with attentive staff

The hotel is located right in the CBD of Shenzhen and close to everything. The rooms are very big with large windows to see the city. Staff here are very friendly and attentive. Special thanks for Annie's help during our stay.

Weekend staycation at Ritz

The services is impeccable as expected from any Ritz hotel. I enjoyed the food and gym facilities. Only place of improvement is that some areas of the room is a little dusty.

Ritz Carlton, once again, offered an unparalleled services and experience again!! The hotel is conveniently located in the CBD with mega malls nearby. The hardware and softwares and both great with thoughtful human touch. And most importantly, the price is three times cheaper than Hong Kong’s! Would definitely recommended.

7 sun benches available for an entire hotel. Good customer services and very responsive. But the hotel looks old and it’s nothing like the ritz in hk and Macau.

Superior services

I told the concerige We took my mom to shenzhen to celebrate Mother's Day. They are kindly upgrade our room to the Lounge Club Level. The room have A nice city view through the huge glass window, and the room hv A gorgeous bathroom. They even sent us A beautiful flower arrangement to our room as a gift! They indeed offer superior service.

As it’s Five Starts hotel, You’ll feel warm welcome from check in until check out with special service. Thanks is not enough to say but I’ll be say I’ll be happy to stay in same place each time I get to there. Highly recommended

great hotel, normally stay at four seasons, have been there for years, but very happy i made the switch over to the Ritz Carlton, amazing hotel has to be one of the best in the area will definitely stay there again

The property has been around for some time and it’s not the newest, but fair wear and tear aside, the place is well maintained. The hotel has a fitness club, pool and spa but doesn’t have a lot of facilities. The service is probably what sets it apart- on all occasions when we pass through the public areas, we have been greeted and asked if there us anything we need. At check in we had a staff show us to our room , and on the way I asked whether there was a fair being held. She made a point of calling me back on the phone with the information. Our housekeeping staff left us a handwritten note to wish us a good night together with some cookies, and the concierge staff ran out in the rain to hail a cab for us - Every step of the way we felt looked after . The service sure stands out from those at other 5 stars we have been at . There was a small confusion with the room booking and a small fruit plate was sent to our room in way of an “apology”. The location of the hotel is just right next to exit D of the subway, and one can just go through the hotel cafe to access it without exposure to the elements. Opposite the hotel is a series of malls with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Beds and pillows are very comfortable, we had 2 nights of very good sleep. We also loved the big glass windows which, on a good day, fills the room up with natural light. We were surprised by the excellent standards at this smaller member of the Ritz, keep up the good work!

World class service

You feel welcome the moment you stepped into the hotel lobby. Staff are well trained and professional. Very customer oriented and a true world-class hotel. Enjoyed our stay at Ritz. The service level by the staff team at the Club level is excellent. Anyone in the hospitality industry who is serious about improving their service level should send their staff to stay a night at Ritz Carlton Shenzhen.

No earbuds or makeup removal pad. English speaking and attentive staff in lobby, breakfast location amongst the best in 5 star global brands. Always going to be there. It’s better than their next door big name neighbor.

Great location in SHENZHEN to convention Center

Excellent location to the convention center and a shopping mall across the street. Lots of food choices make this an excellent place to stay . The staff and manager were very friendly and the morning Buffet had lots of choices.

Location is good, just next to Metro. Room view is good too.

I reserved the room at the last minute, the day before arrival, as the decision was made in the last minute. I email the hotel, requesting for a twin room as we have a child. The hotel replied they ran out of twin beds. I could understand it wasn't guarantee as room was booked without an option to select twin bed. I expected the hotel may offer me an alternative , say giving us an extra bed. However, they emailed me twice, offering me options of a. upgrading to suite room, b. giving us an extra bed. both options required us to pay extra. I didn't agree with extra fees, so I simply requested please cancel the reservation, so that I could book another hotel. Upon our arrival, the reception still insisted me to pay for extra bed. Which I was about to request for cancellation. Finally, there was a supervisor came over, told me they've already arranged a king bed room with free extra bed. I meant for such high grade hotel, why didn't you offer me this last option without having your staff to ask me to upgrade in the first place. the 2 emails came to me gave us an impression that the hotel just wanted us to pay more.

Best hotel, so so service.

The service is a bit of awkward. The house keeper knocked at your door everyday at 10am asking when do you go out and when come back. Kept asking until you give a exact time. Late check out only gives u 15 mins. Had to keep negotiating until they transfer me to the reception desk.

Great hotel, if not a little old fashioned.

Great hotel, typical Chinese Ritz Carlton in that it is catering for a bigger audience than one in Europe and that impacts the ‘feel’ of the hotel. I think the decoration and style is a bit old fashioned but probably appeals to the local market. In a central spot in Shenzhen surrounded by shopping malls, restaurants and nightlife.

#1 in SZ

I’ve stayed in every 5 star hotel in SZ at this point and the Ritz is #1 for me. Why? Service more than anything. The staff in the hotel is superb and the club lounge in particular. Fiona and Diana made my stay extra special with personalized recommendations and attentiveness without being overbearing. This is beyond a 5 Star operation. I will return.

This is a great hotel to come back to after a long day working. The area is perfect - walking distance to many restaurants and easily accessible to the HK border. Hotel staff is lovely and makes you feel extremely welcomed and at home.

I highly recommended this property! From the minute I walked in the door! I was treated like I was one of the family! I came all from California. As you would expect it’s the Ritz-Carlton, so you already now it should be great. I had just a two night stay, but my schedule was flexible so I decided to stay 3 more nights! I have met over 30 plus members of the staff in just 3 days. My hats off to the General Management and all the staff for creating one of the most memorable experiences of my life! If you plan on staying in Shenzhen, stay at this hotel!

Real 5 Star hotel in China

A very warm n efficient service from check in to check out, in contrast to most 5 star hotels in China. Excellent Buffett breakfast.

A superb hotel in Shenzhen

Extremely friendly and helpful front desk staff. The executive lounge offers an excellent venue for relaxation and nice ambience. Excellent Italian restaurant with authentic Italian cuisine. Friendly hospitality and a definite going back again.

CNY at 5 star

this is very good location. easy to access MTR and around the city. but the hotel is old and smell bad in the room, Service is not so good either, especially at swimming pool area. the towel is old and facilities is dirty. there is no life guard around the swimming pool, people smoke around the pool area. Wifi is very slow, no USB charge outlet, only iphone chager place is old and does't work well , it is not worth the price I paid 2700 HK per night. they also charge my two kids 8/10 breakfast half price. This hotel is open 2009 but just feel so old and out of style. I am so disappointed about my stay, hope the management and owner do something about it, don't waste and damage the brand name and waste the property

Friendly Services

The hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. The location is also good. The room standard is average.

It was our family stay to celebrate my daughter graduation. The Club team Serena and Cici took good care of our family. They gave surprise to my daughter and brought her nice memory. The Club team is so professional and come with individual touch. It is a great team.

Wow

Top notch. I will never stay anywhere else again! From the initial entry and friendly smile to the exit everything was spectacular. Take advantage to the 26th floor option. For the price it's great!

Very nice rooms and service

We found the staff especially friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The restaurants were also very good. They provided baby cribs for my young children, which was helpful. It felt like a boutique luxury hotel, unlike say the nearby Sheraton, which felt like a huge mass-market hotel.

a lovely weekend trip

lobby staff gave us a very warm welcoming. the big miss is from their restaurant. we arrived at 230pm and the restaurant receiption didnt want to take us, probably they a about to closed and not even introduce me the food on meau...need to checn out yourself. rest a ok.

Most friendly staff

I travel about 150 days a year. This hotel by far has the most friendly staff. After the first meeting they remember and call you by name and they are always there to lend a helping hand and a friendly, but not intrusive or prolonged, quick chat. I've changed my go to hotel to here from now on.

The Best in Shenzhen

Had an excellent time at the Ritz in Shenzhen. We actually traveled throughout China and can consider this one of the top hotels. However, compared to hotels such as the Park Hyatt in Shanghai it falls short on luxury.

As good as I expected.

The hotel is just as good as all the other Ritz-Carlton hotels. It comfortable, roomy and have all what you need.

Excellent One Night

First, the survey is flawed because is doesn't say whether a 1 is better than a 5. I assumed 5 was best. The customer service is impeccable. There served us a beverage on a tray while waiting to check in. The restaurant serves and the rooms were also exceptional. During the week when the price drops, you can't find a better value.

Excellent Hotel

Great location, great rooms and great staff. I did have an issue with not being able to speak to anyone when I tried to phone them with an issue I was having when language was a problem, but the staff are very helpful. It is my preferred hotel in this area. I suggest paying for the upgrade to a Club room as the club lounge is excellent with good breakfast, dinner and drinks.

This hotel is overall good but you get a better service if you dress up. Yes I am not kidding. We experienced a huge difference in personal service depending on level of dress up. I was blown away by the the lack of service I got despite the fact I had just put $8K down for all the rooms in our group. As I would not expect that treatment from this hotel chain (and to be fair I have not experienced this at any of their other hotels) it did become a bit of a joke over the course of our stay, if nothing else - they were consistent.

Very very nice but wanted to swim

The stay was fantastic, service, the room so large (club floor) appointed, fantastic bed, bathroom with soaker tup with a view. All fantastic. But I really wanted a swim and the pool area is magical but......the water is not heated. Why open a pool in winter with 17 deg water? Shame.

Best place to stay in Shenzhen

It might be expensive compared to local hotels but is worth it as far as I'm concerned. Staff are excellent, location is awesome, little cafe in the ground floor is also cool. Close to the Metro as well.
