Not suitable for family no proper entery within 1km The beach are filthy i 've seen sewer water being discharge being ICove resort directly to the sea. This is not acceptable.

Perfect place to stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful and ensures any issues are resolved quickly.

Not Enjoyable.

I emailed the property after I made the reservation asking for a ground floor room. They responded they have no rooms on the ground floor, but would give me one on the second floor. When I arrived they said they had no second floor rooms so gave me a 3rd floor room. No elevator at this hotel BTW. They had no porters to help with bags. The stairs were shallow and it was definitely not safe going up the stairs with two bags. Once I got to the room the wifi password would not work. Ok, I had enough of this place. I hauled my bags back downstairs and checked out 20 minutes after checking in. You may like this place, but it wasn't for me. They wouldn't refund the room. The room and transportation costs was over $200. Hope they enjoy the free money. Maybe they can now at least hire a porter.

First room the toilet wouldnt flush and second the shower leaked. In both cases they changed my room quickly. They are very nice. Front door was kept locked at night for added security. I will stay here again. It is clean, comfortable, and the staff are the best.

Hotel is good value for the money. It’s in the center of Barreto and is surrounded by a wide variety of restos/bars. I was lucky to have a room not facing the street (which I would imagine to be quite noisy with traffic). Definitely recommend!

My Views

I stayed for 5 nights. Staff were available 24 hours and very helpful. Room was spacious, clean, well laid out and a safe provided. The ensuite was adequate but dated. There’s no bar and a continental style breakfast available. I will have no hesitation in staying there again

Great place good value but there is better

The place is great value and well placed with access to most things we wanted. The only downfall was the bed, it was extremely hard and actually left two of our party with back pains after the 6 days

Decent priced but wouldnt stay there again

Decent 3 star place centrally located in Barretto. Very noisy National Highway outside. I didnt have a street facing room but still very noisy. Wouldn't stay again due to the hardness of the mattresses. Ended up waking up 4x per night due to a sore back from it. I stayed here to dive with Mangos which was more or less across the road.

Would not cancel an accidental booking even though the request for cancellation was made within a few minutes after the accidental booking. Would not answer phone calls and would not respond to emails. I don't recommend this place.

You get what you pay for.

Room was very noisy. May as well have been outside. Bed only had a sheet. Asked for a blanket and received another sheet. The A/C worked great. Remotes were not functioning. The hot water pump in the shower was plugged in just above and to the side of the shower head with what appeared to be a ground wire hanging to the side. The staff was friendly. Overall this is a classic case of you get what you pay for. Would not stay here again.

Definitely best bang for your buck. Hot water, clean rooms. Restaurant next door open 24hrs.

The staff were super friendly, and I had friends in different nearby hotels, same quality but The Pub was significantly cheaper. The attached restaurant/bar had good food, and the location was great. Would definitely recommend The Pub to anyone traveling to the area.

Good for those on budget & are not expecting much

The room was OK for the price. We had the superior room for only p1,400. We turned off the aircon in the middle of the night since it was noisy. Tried using the ceiling fan instead. However, turned it off as well since it was noisy too. Good thing, the weather was good and we had a good night's sleep even though we didn't use the aircon and fan. For security, the chain lock for our door was missing. We slept with one of the chairs on the door (just in case). We only stayed to sleep. We left early since we had nothing to do. Also, we booked at a time where there was construction in front of the building. Entering the building through the main door was a little bit dangerous. However, they made the resto entrance the temporary entrance of the pub. Was a little shocked only when i entered the resto since nobody had a face mask on. Again, for p1400 you won't expect much. The good points are the clean, spacious superior room and bath, and the walk to the beach. Enjoyed the cable as well since we got tired of netflix. 😅 Will we go back? maybe but not likely.

BED BUGS

At about 3:00 AM in the morning I was a wake by a painful itch. I got out of bed to see both my legs with dozens of bed bug bits. I went down to the front desk to tell them and ask for a spare room. there were no spare rooms, but they gave me a can of bug kill and fresh linen. This is not how a hotel should be ran or how guest should be treated.

Fantastic hotel, amazing staff, very friendly, nice rooms with everything you need. Great location near baloy beach other attractions close by and great transport links, via jeepey or trike. Or if you want to go further afield they’ll arrange a fly the bus. Great food at the the pub downstairs, pool tables and good priced beers. What more you need.

My choice for barrio barretto.

The pub hotel isn't full service and doesnt have an elevator. You'll have to lug your own luggage. The staff, front desk and maid service was excellent. Very friendly and professional. The water temperature in the shower did vary. And i felt one drop on the bed from the ac unit. There is street noise as the hotel is on the main street. Minor inconveniences i can live with. Can walk to everything you may need. Good place at a bargain price.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Great staff, clean rooms, good selection of tv channels, kettle. Great location and very tasty food available in the pub downstairs all at reasonable prices.

Solid place to stay in Barretto

Good hotel at a great price. Not full service but all the basics. Nice ladies at front desk and cleaning staff. Close to what Barretto offers. Right on main road so expect traffic noise. Good enough that I will stay at the Pub Hotel until I leave the Philippines.

We did not stay there because we could bring are suite cases to the third floor. This was not the place we were booking, not Olongapo but we booked SAN Antonio one hour drive away. You must refund the total amount charged by Monday. And yes we will put this online and you are not going to appreciate the results Expedia, and I will write the truth as this is a total rip off. Aircon unit dripped water into the bed, shower was burning hot or cold no in between. Brown out and they have no generator.

Hotel very inconsiderate of guests. Construction in the hotel began at 9am and continued sporadically after 10pm.... No alert given to the first, or time restraints given construction work. Front desk clerk would do nothing...

Endless Problems

First night startled awake by door knob to room be jiggled at 2AM. At 3AM intruder entered room as I jumped out of bed NAKED ready to fight thinking I was being robbed. Profuse apologies all around as staff barged in ignoring do not disturb sign and shoes wedged against door as no safety chain or latch on door. Sheets not being changed on bed took 2 requests to remedy. Floor seriously flooded 2 nights from rain water. Insect cocoons hanging all over the walls. Shower water pressure dialed down to a minimum. Bed very firm, almost hard. Surrounding entertainment area almost a ghost town. Beach across street must pay for access, and unsightly. Must travel for nice sandy beach. NOT recommended. Soap provided is paper thin and crumbles into nothing before shower is done.

The room I stayed in was functional. It was on the 3rd floor, but there was no elevator. It has a very good location to check Barrio Baretta. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Most hotels in this price range have foam mattresses, old, noisy through-the wall A/C units, noisy refrigerators and sewer gas smells coming from the bathroom drains. Pub had quiet split-system A/C, fridge located in cabinetry (turn the dial to cold when you move in) and a bathroom that didn't smell bad. Spring mattress. Sheets and towels were clean and changed daily upon request. Wifi worked fine. Very quiet at night. Halls can get noisy during the day, but who wants to be there during the day? There are no views from these rooms- the windows are translucent glass block. Hotel provided soap, toothbrushes & toothpaste. There is a 500 deposit when you move in for the junk food, or you can just ask them to remove it instead. No phones in the rooms, but rooms have doorbells and staff will knock on your door if guests arrive for you. Guests can leave freely. Key can be removed from hotel ring and put on your own key ring, which is how I like it. Cheaper online than walk-in.

I would like to recommend this hotel, but can't.

This room would have been a good value if it had been in good condition, but it wasn't. The bathroom sink was totally stopped up on my arrival.....I told them at the front desk and they called somebody, but if the drainage improved any, it was hard to notice. The air conditioner ran all the time, but never got the room cold, it must have been low on freon. There was one of the three days that I stayed there that the maids never got around to cleaning it. The tv only got half the channels it was supposed to, they were not able to fix it during the time that I was there. And the internet went down multiple times, once for most of a day (although that one was a wide-spread outage, not the fault of the hotel). If management is reading this, it's room 8!

Comfort VS Location

Affordable. Stay was pleasant except that the location is at night club area. There's free water on dispenser on the hallway outside the hotel room, but you could taste something. Bathroom soaps were thin. There is no bidet.

Worth considering in Barrio Baretto

The pub is well located in Barrio Baretto across the main road from the beach. It is a well presented property; not new but well maintained and has an attached restaurant. The room are a good size, well air conditioned and comparable with others in the area. Shame that there seemed to be no common space to chill out in.

Stayed in standard room. Nice Aircon room with good wifi and cable channels. Has minifridge to keep drinks cold. Has mineral water dispenser in hallway for hot and cold water. Free coffee in rooms. Would recommend this hotel.

Small and pricey compared to other budget hotels that are roomier at a more reasonable price

this hotel is clean and comfortable but showing its age now. rooms are quite large. Traffic noise was annoying as our room was facing the street also the ago go bars surrounding the place are noisy also.

Giving unnecessary fees.

The towel that used wa stained a little bit by my hair color. They charged me 300 pesos for laundry. 300 pesos for laundry??? Seriously?? The towel that they lend us looks very cheap and I think its much older than me. Will not recommend the hotel.

Good low-budget room

Very nice staff. Good location for what we were there for. We didn't order breakfast because it was pretty expensive, but there was a very nice German bakery nearby. The building/furniture may seem older, but it was clean and comfortable. Would book again.

Very clean hotel, very good location

The hotel is very clean, the staff is amazingly helpful. I particularly likes its location because its on one end of 'the strip,' vice in the middle so its closer to the water, only a 10-15 minute walk, yet its next to all the bars and music venues. If you want on the water, you're going to pay. But if you want an economical, very clean hotel that is smack dab in the middle of the action (bars on your left, water on your right) then this is it. One note...if traffic noise bothers you, might want to ask for a room away from the front, as the hotel sits on the national hwy. Didn't bother me, but I'm a city boy.

Good, comfortable room. Very clean. Central location in Barrio. Friendly, professional service from reception. As other reviews have mentioned there is no lift so only for the able bodied traveller but it's only a 3 story building so not an issue otherwise. Recommended.
