Room comfort issues

Everything was great, these comfort notes: 1) The shower floor was very slippery. 2) The tile bath floor was even worse. 3) I had to almost beg to get a blanket. 4) No thermostat to control the room temp. 5) TV cable was awful, about 1/2 the channels not working.

Portrush break

Straightforward, traditional seaside hotel, reminded me of the ‘70s guest house. Lots of stairs, no lift

We enjoyed our stay at the port. It was clean, staff was friendly, food was lovely and great location. The only thing i could say was negative was all them stairs! A lift would be perfect. i am only late 30s n was out of puff each time i got to my room, god help anyone older or with breathing problems. And in the rooms it would be perfect if there was a small fridge to keep water and refreshments cold. But overall a good hotel and we would stay again.

Reception staff were fantastic and so helpful. The room was ok and the TV showed Netflix but this did not work. Old coat hangers on the roof top over looking window not great. The breakfast was weird as you could not get additional items, even if you offered to pay for them. Plus I took a banana for my round of golf to then be informed that you are not allowed to take food items away. The breakfast was actually good but the strict rules are not great service and in an age where you can customise things, they need to think about this. Overall ok but they could do so much better.

Staff lovely lovely stay

Right in the middle of Port Rush, walkable to everything! Great location. It was a challenge to drop luggage off, and park. If you have a car be aware of this issue as you may need to park In the lot and walk to the hotel. Also there is no lift in the hotel and a lot of stairs. Breakfast was good; staff was nice. TV didn’t work; Room was clean.

One night stay in the Port

Very pleased with everything about the hotel, a lot of improvements made since our last visit about 5 years ago. Room was excellent, very clean and comfortable as it had been refurbished recently. Staff were very pleasant and happy to help with a few questions we had about the area. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice to keep us going for the rest of the day

We had a very clean room, and the staff was very nice. We loved that we were walking distance from a lot of places things.

Close to everything, easy walk from train station and bus stops. The perfect base to explore the north coast.

This property immerses you in the warm and inviting atmosphere of Portrush. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable with helping us change up our travel plans. Great location to nearby Pubs and resteraunts.

The room was fabulous! Very clean, with a large tv. If you want to get rest, whilst travelling, this is the place to go, it was so very quiet. Ideal! Good breakfast as well and very friendly.

The staff were lovely and the bar and restaurant was warm welcoming and very Nice. Breakfast was fantastic great choice and nice booked hot breakfast also. Location was convenient and close to everything. Would definitely stay again.

Great Hotel

Only stayed for a night but hope to return for longer next time! Great location a short walk from the beach and train station. Lovely staff at reception and in the bar/ restaurant. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with plenty of tea, coffee and toiletries.

The hotel had a very homely quality. The staff were friendly and helpful. Each morning the breakfast was delicious. Very easy to walk around Portrush, convenient and safe place to stay.

The hotel was always well staffed, room was clean and fresh. Staff were all very helpful couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was exceptional freshly cooked other food was excellent. Will stay here again very soon.

Basic but clean and very friendly

Nice location. Very dated. Poor shower pressure and water only warm for complete duration of stay.

Very relaxing stay, just a pity there is no lift in this hotel. Had to climb so many stairs and I have problems with my knees. Make sure you have everything you need for the day before you go downstairs.

Big money for poor quality.

Staff were nice & breakfast was excellent. However, our room was far from acceptable for the top price we paid, or for any price really: I can't think any excuse for peeling chipboard furniture that looks like it's out of a 1970s caravan; or for a hole in the bathroom wall stuffed with tissue, and a hole in the main door where it's repeatedly hit the dresser. The TV was screwed onto a piece of hardboard fixed to the wall, and the hanging extension lead for electrics was not something i've ever seen in a hotel anywhere - not sure if that's even legal in a hotel. The view could also do with addressing - maybe tidy up the rubbish and hanging cables on the roofs, and one of the windows had a broken handle. The 2 bedrooms we had looked clean enough, but on the last morning when we were moving beds to make sure we'd got everything, we discovered loads of dust, and a previous occupants chocolates and wrappers behind the beds! The bathroom was spotless, but there was no bath, just a lame electric shower, and nowhere to put anything other than a narrow windowsill.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone hotel and the staff was friendly

Central, clean, friendly staff and cosy bar

Great central location. Very friendly and helpful staff, particularly the lovely lady on reception upon our arrival. All precautions taken to prevent Covid and a tasty breakfast. The hotel is old but is very clean and boasts a cosy little bar.

Lovely Stay

This hotel was conveniently located in the center of Portrush. Though on the main thoroughfare, it was quiet and comfortable. The room was a pleasantly spacious surprise. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. All the personnel at the front desk were friendly and helpful. It was just a short and easy drive to the Giant's Causeway and Coastal route.

Excellent place to stay and enjoy the beautiful town of Portrush. It’s cozy, warm, clean, the staff is very friendly, attentive and appreciative of their guests. The food is great! Very helpful and friendly and a fine pub next door with plenty of choice

There is no lift but the front desk offered to have someone take up our bags.

I was greeted by name when we walked in. Had to park a little ways away from the property, but it was close enough to walk back to.

Lovely staff in a great town

Wonderful staff who helped us carry all our luggage up all those stairs! Portrush with its great location, beautiful beaches and kind people is always nice to visit.

Room small with no air conditioning and noisy when window open. Bathroom very small. Shower cubicle would need to be updated.

Very nice hotel, the staff was super nice and helpful. A couple of the staff members helped direct us in the right direction when it came to dinner and even touring around the rest of Northern Ireland and into Ireland. The room was super spacious and clean. Breakfast was really good as well!!! Totally would recommend! Had a great stay!

Our stay was wonderful. Nice little coast town. Plenty to do it was lovely!!

Nice hotel very basic only problem the electric shower no hot water something wrong with it

Location was nice but no decent parking. No elevator ...so a ton of steps. Shower was outdated and no pressure. Tried ti check out at 8 am... no front desk staff until 30 and he was not the friendliest. Won't be back

Great staff and centrally located

We had an easy walk up and the rooms were spotless. The hotel staff were very helpful with directions to local sites. Dinner service was wonderful.

Great Hotel, close to everything

We booked here with our two kids. The family room we had was fantastic. Loads or space, comfortable beds and great storage. The bathroom was a good size too. Breakfast was fab too.

The Port Hotel is OK. We stayed on the top floor so my quads got a workout! I had to buy breakfast at the Atlantic Hotel on the Saturday as I had to be at work in Colraine at 8.30 when breakfast starts... 7.30am (Atlantic) is a better breakfast start time than 8.30am (Port). There is no Wifi at the Port Hotel.

Good location

I would stay here again, it's right in the town so handy to all the pubs and restaurants. The room was good and comfy. A bit dated but it was clean so I was happy enough. The shower was a bit weak but it done the job. I would have liked the heating on a bit earlier in the morning.

Convenient well priced hotel

Stayed for only one night as on a golf trip, perfect location convenient ( 2 minute walk ) to harbour and restaurants, room and bathroom clean. Tea and coffee available. Good value for money.

Not a lot of options in Portrush...

Staff was friendly, but that was it. No elevator, lots of stairs, room wasn't dirty but it wasn't clean, wasn't comfortable and nothing good to speak of.

Great location, near seafront, amusements, nightlife and restaurants. Would definitely stay again. Unexpectedly had wifi in our first floor room which was a bonus.

Great location

Our family, 2 adults, 2 children, stayed there for one night. The family room was great and had a separate but adjoining room for the children. The decor in the room is a little old fashioned (like staying at your Aunty's), but everything was spotless. The cooked breakfast was lovely. No lift in the premises. A great location for looking around Portrush, it's bang on the main street and 3 minutes walk from the beach and free parking.

Decent place, don't go in the off-season.

No lift (kind of a pain). The fire doors everywhere were hard to open and made it really difficult to move luggage around. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. Rooms had been (recently?) renovated but there were some strange holes and leftover things from the remodel where old cords might have come into the furniture or where things had been replaced. Finally, the neighborhood is probably awesome in the summer months, but in mid-September, about 19/20 shops nearby are closed. Finding food was a bit challenging.

Centrally located in the heart of Portrush

Good spot in the heart of the town. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. We stayed for two nights and no complaints. The guy at reception was particularly helpful and friendly.

Hotel or hotel bar?

This hotel has an amazing location and the staff was beyond helpful. Then Thursday night Karaoke night began and we were in the middle of a party when all we wanted was a good nights sleep. Nothing is more frustrating than have your ability for silence taken away when you have a big day of adventuring ahead of you. It finally ended at 1:15am.....I was not a happy camper. Unfortunate.

Great location but noisy

Right in the town centre which is nice and close to everything but it also means that it gets very noisy at night. And the radiators are stuck on in summer so you have to open the windows to let the noise in. Otherwise clean, relatively comfortable, breakfast is good and friendly staff.
