Yes I got an upgrade because I had a family funeral so that was a lovely thought
Close to Main Street of Kalgoorlie so giving good access to restaurants and shops.
It was just what I wanted.
Great place and close to everything
Have stayed here before, years ago. Property has been updated since then and is very nice inside.
Classy hotel and great staff
it was a quiet weekend, after everyone had evacuated from Diggers and Dealers. Nice stay, slow check in, but friendly staff. Nice and clean, very comfortable stay. Was accommodated for a last minute breakfast which I very much appreciated.
Nice renovated room which was a good size and had a lovely outlook over the city from the large window and balcony
Nice and comfortable place to stay
Very good but spoilt by minor things
Welcomed an upgrade. Very much appreciated. However, on arrival asked to pay direct and not as normal through my booking form. This insured me card surcharges that I was not advised of at the time, and do not have through normal booking procedure. Also after dining at the establishment and going for the account to charge to my room, was advised I could not do so as it was blocked at the reception desk. This done in front of my guest and not appreciated. Receptionist who booked us in apologised the next day and told me I could now charge my room as he had opened my account to do same but, unfortunately the damage was already done.
Great hotel close to amenities and perfect for business. Clean spacious and comfortable with good work spaces. Only exception is inability to book meals and drinks to room to pay in one payment with one invoice. Apparently due to booking through second parties like Expedia this can’t be done. Even though it is okay at hotel and they have my card details upon arrival? Frustrating.
The hotel was comfortable and within walking distance of the West Australian School of Mines.
The reception staff were very obliging and efficient - breakfast choice was comprehensive and very satisfying - tasty food and excellent service. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious. My only disappointment was in the unavailability of coffee from the expresso machine in the bar even though it was well before 8.00 pm
An enjoyable and relaxing stay. Thank you.
The hotel is ideally placed within Kalgoorlie. 5 minutes walk from the Gold Museum and 2 minutes walk from Hannah Street and the main shopping and eating area of town. The hotel has been well maintained and the room allocated to me was spacious, clean, comfortable with a west looking balcony. The hotel has a nice swimming pool which I used and enjoyed after a hot day sightseeing. I didn't use the hotel for meals so can't comment on food quality or prices. I found all the staff very friendly and accommodating. Kalgoorlie is definitely worth a visit if you are in Western Australia and I would recommend a stay at the Plaza.
Average. Definately not a 4 Star hotel. Not cheap for what we got, disinterested staff, couldn’t eat my dinner meal there and the buffet breakfast was very ordinary too. Terrible coffee to boot. Will try elsewhere next time.
Close to the main street and easy walking distance to shopping and dining options. Lovely, friendly staff
Hey great place
Nice clean hotel close to CBD
Very nice people
Room was comfortable. Clean
Farina and the staff were outstanding. We stayed over Christmas and they made our stay relaxing and enjoyable
Excellent experience
My stay at The Plaza was for a work trip. I really enjoyed my stay. It was all neat and tidy. However, the room was not serviced for the whole 3 days of my stay.
Another great stay
Rooms were great (clean, spacious, comfortable). Parking was secure but limited and tight. With two exceptions (a cheerful receptionist at checkin and a very helpful housemaid) staff were frosty. Property has a self-service laundry which was useful. Left exhausted by guests in neighboring rooms who shouted from the balcony and moved furniture consistently throughout day and night. Next time we’ll choose a quieter property.
Well appointed Hotel but overpriced. I would stay elsewhere in future,
Close to centre and fantastic staff
So
Very comfortable stay
Very comfortable, welcoming hotel - very friendly - lovely touches including drink from the bar - great tapas
Loved the cleanliness of the room and fixtures. The outside environment while not threatening made you feel uncertain until you got to well lit areas away from the hotel.
Handy location, friendly staff. As first time guests we weren't allowed to book things to our room, bar ect.
Staff were very friendly and helpful in rectifying a mistake I had made when booking in the type of bed we needed. Enjoyed seeing Kalgoorlie for the history and for family history reasons. And enjoyed drives we took north from Kalgoorlie and a lovely bushwalking area on the outskirts of the city.
Great location
Great location, hotel is a bit old especially for the price. Room was generally clean however there was a bunch of long hair in the shower which meant that we needed to clean the shower first. It was a bit gross.
The location to restaurants and pubs is within an easy walk. The room itself is in need of maintenance. Our balcony had no furniture so had to bring out a chair and a small table from the room. The lock on the sliding door was not working and was fixed for us. The sink tap is loose. They have movie channels that do not work. Good news is we weren’t there for the tv. The price I paid was okay but don’t think it’s worth over $200 a night if that is the normal price. We had room service our first night and one choice was not available. We both ordered a pasta dish and both were a bit dry. I don’t think the food was made to order but pre-made and reheated. 5 out of 10. My last visit was spectacular and I hope this was just an unlucky visit for us. I’ll let you know in 6 months.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Clean close to the pubs
Kalgoorlie stopover
Nice clean place, rooms in good renovated condition and spacious enough to move around with table inside and on the balcony. Just a short walk to Hannan Street. Onsite secure parking. Only negative - aircond heating capped at 24 deg - took a while to heat room. Have stayed before will stay again.
Pleasant and helpful staff, facilities very good. Dining was very convenient, given that their was very little open down the street.
Easy
Location and value for money.
Really it's digs for FIFO workers. Keep expectations low. Good points... comfortable bed. Showers works.
Room was lovely, modern and clean. Bathroom was tiny so definitely one at a time. Bed very comfortable and had a great nights sleep.
Pleasant stay in Kal
I was very pleased to be able park both my small trailer and van in a secure off street site. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant was overpriced.
Close to city centre and secure parking a priority. Rooms clean and well maintained. Grumpy staff.
Understand there is staff shortages however got ignored for over 15 minutes and had to go to the counter to order the meal. The steak was rare when I ordered medium and again no one came to check, I left most of the meal and fortunately they did not charge me in the end.
Shower was weak and also wouldn't stop dripping needs fixing.
I was very happy with my room
Mattresses were uncomfortable and the lift needs updating. The pool was clean and refreshing. Overall the place needs so money spent on it for the price you pay.
Plaza - Kalgoorlie
The Plaza is well situated near the centre of the shopping district and in close proximity to a range of restaurants and pubs. The room was a reasonable size but the bathroom poorly designed with the door opening on to the shower door. Most importantly the bed was very comfortable.
Great customer service, good breakfast and other dining options, relatively quiet for being close to the centre of a mining town, good parking options, washing machine and drier available.
Beds were fantastic Noise from outside at 3am in the morning not so good took them a good hour to get police to move culprits on
Beautiful view
well situated hotel but A/C took half a day to cool the north facing room.Everything else good especially staff
Pleasant enough.
the breakfast & restaurant are superb
I don't normally leave reviews but the sheer lack of respect the cleaners show for nightshift workers is disgusting. There is not an ounce of consideration. If you're a night shift worker, simply put. Avoid. The cleaners give zero Fs about you sleeping. They bang, slam doors and there is little to no respect for your need for sleep. Shower recess floor tiles were filthy. Doesn't look like an attempt to clean them has been made in months. The only clean spot is where people have been standing. Beyond that, the rest of the property was fine and nothing to complain about.
We had a room on the top floor, so good views over the town. The restaurant was very good. All staff were friendly and helpful.
I stay here often. It's convenient to everywhere in Kalgoorlie, the breakfasts are good and the restaurant is excellent. Highly recommended!
Property was in good condition and a great location to City amenities. Rooms looked recently updated and were perfect for relaxing and for working. Internet was good and free. Breakfasts were good with lots of choices. Staff at reception were very sociable and helpful
Clean and comfortable, helpful and friendly staff
N/A
The staff were friendly and helpful. The property was conveniently located, clean and the bed was comfortable. We booked for 2 adults and 2 children and the children were accommodated with a sofa sleeper rather than beds. The shower water pressure was terrible and we ran out of toilet paper more than once. Overall, an enjoyable stay but would try a different location next time.
The bathroom fan was like a 747 plane way too loud
Great quality service!
the best thing was the staff and service. they were very helpful and friendly. THis made my stay really easy. Big shout out to Kathleen - Manager and Eddie the bar staff. These two employees made my stay extra special with their wonderful manner and helpfulness. thanks so much guys...I'll be back. :) I enjoyed the view too.
Good location
I must admit I was expecting better for price, I think hotel photos on web site were taken a long time ago. But breakfast was good, staff lovely, room clean and comfortable and just at top end of main street so handy for shops.
Staff service at reception was excellent
Clean, neat & tidy - well presented modern rooms
This place was a pleasant surprise despite hitting a peak pricing period. Lady at the check in was delightful. Gave us heaps of information including how to find wildflowers. Dinner was good with one exception: the 350gm rump steak was probably the toughest I have ever eaten. It was perfectly cooked but I’m sure it had been chased around the paddock for a couple hours before it was butchered. Have a serious word to the butcher. Coles and Woolworths wouldn’t have put it on the shelf.
Stayed for 3 nights and found it to be very comfortable and clean with modern décor. Car parking on premises can be very busy on weeknights although there's street parking out the front.
Close to the Hannan St and city centre. Good facilities with a bar, restaurant and laundry. Onsite parking and easy access. The room was quite spacious and comfortable. Staff good. Hard to fault.
It’s clean inside but I think it would be fantastic if they apply a new coat of paint on the facade of the hotel. The breakfast is good and it’s good to see that they can still do a buffet because of the covid-free status of WA.
The Plaza hotel is a nice hotel in a great location. Walking distance to everything Kalgoorlie has to offer. The only downside is it can be a bit noisy on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from drunk and disorderly people shouting out loud while walking home from the local pubs late at night.
Good hotel overall
The new management have completely revamped this hotel and it's the best i've ever seen it. The old management have moved to the Rydges and destroyed it.
Loved our stay .Staff very accommodating.
