Comfortable stay
The stay is comfortable and good. The staff needs to be pushed, but if you speak to any manager or supervisor they are very understanding and help.
Nice hotel. Had no problems. I thought it was a little pricey but would stay there again
Close to the beach.
Overall good hotel with easy access to the beach and a clean pool. Friendly staff.
dated hotel but spacious and nice rooms
Nice, clean and spacious room and bathroom. Hotel a bit dated, expected more premium quality for 4 stars and from the photos. Great breakfast but lunch (for an additional fee) portion was small and average. The beach is ok but not great.
Great place
Great hotel for the money. Great relaxing setting with well maintained grounds. Great beach and pool. Beach restaurant food was excellent as was the breakfast buffet. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Nightly entertainment was also provided in the form of live music. Would highly recommend. I didn't use the spa but prices seems a bit high compared to what you would find outside the hotel.
Nice airy hotel near the beach. Every room with vi
Great stay. Love the sorroundings. Was fun to walk on the beach and relax in the beautiful lounges. Internet was not working in room and buffet food could be better!
Nice Hotel on the Beach
My husband and I enjoyed our visit to The Palms. It was a convenient location as Beruwala is near (we walked to it but it was a hike). Relaxing, breakfast buffet was great, staff was helpful, but internet was only in the public area and even then only in certain areas in the public area.
Outdated Hotel, with terrible amenities
The Palms Hotel in Beruwela looks like it was built in the 70's and hasn't been updated since. The rooms are dirty, with antiquated furniture. The is no internet service available in the room. The Breakfast Buffet is the worst I have experienced in comparable Asian Hotels. The only saving grace is the friendly staff and great beach. Overall I cannot recommend this Hotel to anyone in good conscience - look elsewhere.
Best to avoid this..
The property is beautiful with plenty of wooden architecture n greenery. That is where the pros end. We stayed for 3 nights with kids and regretted every single day. The rooms were musty with strong stench of old furniture. The room towels, bedsheets looked like rags from the last century. The buffet breakfast was the same on every single day with limited options. No fresh juice, no brown bread, cut fruits with flies on it. There are 2 restaurants, and one only serves buffet for all meals. The other restaurant and the in room dining has very limited options, especially for kids. The beach is dirty n littered as it is a public beach. Best to avoid this one at all cost and shift to it next door neighbor in the north. You will not regret at all.
Nice hotel close to be the beach
Relaxing and generally enjoyable for our stay. Rooms with balconies very pleasant and a good size.
PALMS BEACH
LOOKS TOO BUSY . PERSONAL ATTENTION LACKING BEHIND.SMALL INSECTS FOUND IN BATHROOM. THE LOCATION IS FANTASTIC AND ATMOSPHERE IS AWESOME. NICE SWIMMING POOL AND BEACH REACH IS FINE.
Overall a Good Experience
The Hotel has good Landscaping all the rooms are seaview facing the Beach its worth the Money.RoomService menu is very limited and they serve only till 11pm
Passable, but overall could be much matter.
Hotel could be better maintained.
Lovely hotel close to the beach
I was here with my mum and sister for a couple of nights and it was worth every penny! We were given a room better than that was originally booked and the staff was always really helpful and friendly. The food wasn't as great and was still expensive. Overall, excellent place for a short stay with a lovely pool, garden and beach!
Pretty much okay.
It was overall good but can be improved by adding a few more items in it's cuisine and also having their own transport facilities. An absolute necessity for tourists!! After all people from all over the world are coming to this hotel too and wouldn't have to be running around finding and fixing taxis from local vendors by being asked sky high prices for traveling!!!!!!!
Gem on the beach
Overall the stay was pleasent! Although we booked a Garden view room most of our garden was blocked by a cement wall. However the staff was top notch and hotel it's self was very beautiful!
Thoroughly enjoyable overall
nice beach but we had a cockroach in our room and the sheets were dirty.
Go anywhere else!
First stuck us in a horrible room which smelt, horrible staff who had no idea, crap food, gym and opening hrs for gym and pool where terrible. The beach was nice. Waste of money, staying in a 1 star hotel provided us with better food and customer service.
Very poor
Extremely slow service. Whenever we asked them to do anything it was as if they were doing us a favour when in fact that is their job. I asked if they could change a $20 note to two $10 bills and they said no and refused to check if they had the change. They tried to charge us an extra $80 each for being in the hotel on Christmas Eve when we arrived but we had already paid the bill online. They took 1 hr 20 mins to serve a cheese burger at the restaurant. Also the area is a dump with a rubbish beach and dodgy people hanging around. Do not stay at this hotel!!!!
Good looking hotel
Had a relaxing time and the staff were helpful but the food let them down.
Great location on the beach.
Great location with access directly onto the beach. Good swimming pools, towels sunbeds etc provided. Rooms very comfortable, soft comfy beds a/c very effective. Great sea views from our room on the third floor. Our first night was in a room on the third floor adjacent to the lobby with lots of noise from the live entertainment which went on until midnight - them noved to room away from lobby and much better. Several beach cafes nearby with some good food.
Wonderful beach location, aspirational attitutde
They say they're 3.5 stars, but they were certainly aspiring to more than that. The location is great and the service was really good. Nothing was a problem and there was a really good atmosphere among all the staff. Every person seemed happy and content, eager to do a complete and thorough job. I think the place is better than it looks in the photos!
Lovely stay at the Palms in Beruwala!
The Palms in Beruwala was very nice. When we arrived we were greeted by the hotel staff and brought drinks while we waited what seemed like 5 minutes. Next we were taken to our hotel room. The hotel room was very nice the bed was comfortable. We had a room that looked out to the ocean and we also could see the pool. The room was clean and well kept. The only down side I believe to our room was the toilet after a flush the water would continue to run. We didn’t say anything to the hotel staff because we aren’t that fussy. The breakfast food is your basic food. Dinner buffet we had one night there and it was good. The bar was great. Try the local liquor it smells of coconuts. Very tasty in a cocktail. Everyone should enjoy the pool and the beach. Yes a couple local people will try to sell you things but who can blame them they are just trying to make a living it wasn’t overwhelming at all. The beach is very beautiful and I recommend walking up and down it every chance you get. We ate dinner at the Sun Flower restaurant it is right along the beach. The place probably does not look that great but the seafood is amazing. Lobster, Prawns and crab were all very tasty. Overall, our trip was very lovely at the Palms. Get out and explore Sri Lanka we had the chance of going to Dambulla, Kandy, Sigiriya and Colombo and Sri Lanka has a lot to offer. Do research and you can see some amazing places. I would come back to Sri Lanka and I plan on going back. November 2012
Nice Beach Location
The common grounds of the property were very nice but the rooms could use some updating. The staff were not very attentive, especially in the restaurant area. Nice beach location.
Nice old fashioned beach hotel
My wife didnt like it, claiming from the start that its old fashioned and has nothing good to satisfy her... Surprisingly, 6 next days passed with more and more enjoyment for both of us, and I have to say - it was one of my best stay on the ocean beach around, even against 5* all-inclusive hotels around the world before. 1. This hotel is very calm, and not overcrowded at all, giving You "space" and very personal intimate feeling -- in front of the very nice ocean beach. 2. Its 3 stars, but well managed, clean, and nicely designed for this level and budget. Also, they make renovation for the rooms, so next your stay may be in the new environment already... 3. Breakfast is OK, while nothing special... We dont have package for dinners, so always dine at the Fisherman Wharf restaurant (part of hotel) -- good seafood grill - recommendations. Also many similar place are along the beach every 300 m for less... 4. Sand beach -- safe swimming in the ocean. Nearby boat services to ride around, diving services, and all other types of entertainment for active ones. 5. Alcohol and extra fruits good from the nearby town shops, refrigerator in the room -- so such approach gives extra freedom in what to eat and drink for less money :)
The Palms hotel Moragalla - bad taxi service
It is very uncomfortable - you can not order a taxi from hotel to airport.
Nice place at the beach!
Very nice place. Nice beach and pool. Good dinner- and breakfast buffet. Quiet place. AC was not really cold, but the fan helped.
dont book this place!
Hotel which has seen the best days. Staff also rude especially women, male restaurant workes were great but women dont speak english at all so you dont have no idea what they are saying. Also everything should be put on your room bill and we wanted always to pay meal etc straight away, that was an issue for them. We also asked what is the best way to Colombo, they didint want to help. Never again! We recommend to stay Bentota beach this Beruwala is too far away.
The Palms, Beruwela, Sri Lanka, HEINÄKUU 2017
Olimme The Palms:ssa (Sri Lanka, Beruwela) kaksi viikkoa kesä-heinäkuussa 2017. Kyseisenä aikana siellä on menossa sadekausi, joten muutamia sadekuuroja tuli parina päivänä. Hänen nimensä on Charitha.
schönes Hotel direkt am Strand!
Toplage! Schöner Strand, großer Pool mit teilweise Schatten. Getränke werden an den Pool serviert. Liegen bequem und ausreichend vorhanden. Schattenplätze etwas spärlich.
sehr ruhig gelegen.
THE PALMS HOTEL BERUWALA
