Spacious room & very nicely appointed. Excellent amenities for hotel accommodations. Several restaurant options close by and also a 15-20 minute walk into town. Hotel staff is very hospitable. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend The Mayfair

The nicest staff ever. This place was adorable (not too crazy about the black walls in the room) but other than that the hotel was amazing! Everything we needed, great location, staff was the friendliest we encountered on our month long trip in NZ.

Make sure to order your pillows, right when you get there! We had a late check-in and all of our pillows were super firm, we tried to call the front, but there was no answer. The next night we had ordered some different pillows and it was much better. Overall, the facility is clean and nice.

Great place to stay for a family of 4. Lots of room and great shower.

Not quite on the ball - with the exception of the very efficient room cleaning team. Odd cooking smell in the corridors and rooms in the morning; in-room coffee replenished (or not) seemingly on a random schedule; a lot of unnecessary light in the rooms at night from the corridors and from the do not disturb gizmo.

Everything was perfect from checkin to checkout. A great property well situated.

Definitely one of the best hotel during our trip in New Zealand. The cafe downstairs is amazing! The hotel is slightly out of city centre and it’s a bit of a walk. Parking is chargeable. Not many food options around the area. But other than that it’s a great hotel with spacious room, clean, tidy and comfortable!

Very nice property near beautiful gardens. Only issue was my wife got food poisoning in their restaurant. Also, the restaurant was fairly small, so it tended to be very crowded at mealtime with less than great seating.

I really liked the how approachable and friendly the staff were, big thanks for setting up the cake and making it look lovely it was a nice touch. The hotel suite was peaceful and perfect, overall thank you for the lovely service.

Great property with superb management

HVAC. System did not work properly for 5 nights. Staff blamed it on the system and did nothing to resolve the problem.

Excellent place. Me and my wife had a very relaxing stay. Facilities are new and clean.

A short distance from the city centre but very accessible by bus (or easy walking about 20 min) Excellent skin line that I discovered. Very modern. And breakfast at the Majestic was reasonably priced and tasty.

Was pleasant

Everything was great but the thermostat was awful. Room temp was perfect on arrival and first night, but the next day room became too warm, I had not touched the thermostat, I ask the front desk to reset to original settings but they instead set to 21 degrees, when I returned to hotel in afternoon room was still warm, staff turned down temp from front desk but then too cold, then back and forth, then I requested staff to teach me how to use the complex thermostat, but still too cold even at a higher set temp. Awful thermostat.

Very nice staff, new hotel with excellent rooms (french balcony) and a perfect bathroom, We really enjoyed our stay and we will recommend this place. Free E-Bikes. Invitation to a drink is only the the top of all concinience.

Superb hotel & bar/restaurant all round

Excellent, new hotel (just over a year) in city centre. Room was very well appointed and quiet. Service superb and bar/restaurant was more like a "normal" high street place - sensible prices, good cocktails and interesting, tasty, if short, menu. Highly recommend staying here, a very pleasant 15min walk from bridge of remembrance and city centre through Hagley park.

Our room was spacious and the staff was very friendly. Easy walking distance to the cathedral, food and shopping. The bar/lounge in the lobby has excellent cocktails!

Location while not in city center was convenient to the park & botanical gardens and still walkable to downtown.

Beautiful Hotel with Secure Parking, Slightly Outs

I recently stayed at the Mayfair in Christchurch and was impressed by its beauty and charm. The hotel had a sophisticated ambiance, and the rooms were spacious and well-maintained. The secured paid parking provided convenience and peace of mind. The only downside was the hotel's location on the outskirts of town, requiring a bit more effort to reach the city center. Overall, a highly recommended choice for a stylish and comfortable stay in Christchurch.

Beautiful property with superb staff that were consistently friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were fitted to a very high standard and the balcony was an added bonus

After a long month on the road, staying at the Mayfair was a heavenly experience. The staff were all delightful to interact with for the entirety of our stay and our room was beautiful. I will be recommending the Mayfair to everyone and hope to visit again

Amazing hotel

Amazing hotel, haven't stayed in many better. Rooms nice and clean and big. Balcony was a nice little bonus. Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff really helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend staying here.

The Service was amazing and friendly. Rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet.

The hotel is great. Spacious rooms. Great bed and bathroom. A/C and heating is great.

Disappointing Stay

Stayed in a Top of House Suite for 4 nights. Lovely room, lots of space and nice amenities. Unfortunately none of the tech worked reliably. Two large TVs, both with ability to cast straight from your own device. Casting stopped working intermittently and they had to send someone to the room to fix it each time. I gave up after the third attempt. It was a very cold week in Christchurch and the heating in the room cut out automatically so my room was never really warm. Thermostat had to sit at 27 degrees to heat the room enough to cope. It never reached 27 degrees even after running all night. Housekeeping also left a window open one day and I came back to the room when it was hailing outside to a freezing cold room. My room key stopped working one day and it took 4 trips to reception for someone to come up to check. Apparently the lock had to be reset by pressing the doorbell. Just seen my bill and that’s been stuffed up as well, extra $450 charged after I checked out. Food was really good though.

A wonderful place to stay. Quiet and convenient to many areas. Easy to get around and explore.
