The Kayon Resort

lovely hotel - could I have done without the 85 step walk up in the rain to breakfast and the 120 steps to reception - all slippery and far from ideal

We stayed a week for our 25th anniversary. Perfect for that occasion. It would be inappropriate with children, infirm or elderly - stone stairs to anywhere, lots of quiet, mostly honeymooners. The staff made an effort to learn our names/circumstances and seemed sincerely invested in our good stay. Shout out to Mira. All day long, the cooked-to-order western and eastern food was amazing (the best/cheapest filet mignon you will find), and we especially enjoyed the included luxurious afternoon tea time 330-430. Our room with private pool felt extremely romantic. We partook of the expert spa massages, mani-pedi and facials. The dance or singing shows every evening added to the romance. Note it is geographically close to downtown Ubud for the shopping, temples, restaurants and chaos, but it is a harrowing and slow 20-30 minute ride that significantly messed with our peace from the place. We only went once. The rice terrace walk was not challenging but is along a road that is a bit too close to traffic. The morning yoga was a mix of stretching and meditation, inadequate if you are a serious yogi. We did our own yoga on the beautiful yoga platform. Kayon Resort was the perfect place to unwind, retreat and recharge. We joked that it felt like the garden of Eden before the fall. One of a kind experience!!!

The Kayon Resort and Spa was a fantastic and relaxing place to stay. The staff were unbelievably friendly and attentive! The resort is a little smaller in size which allows for a personal touch. You get to know the staff over the period of your stay, which is nice. Thank you to The Kayon staff for providing such an awesome experience!

If you are looking for a private getaway that is only a 10 min grab ride away from ubuds monkey forest, elephant sanctuary, shopping markets, and temples look no further. The massage was amazing and food and drinks were very good as well. The pool was a great temperature and they have many options for breakfast included in the stay which you can have in your room or at the restaurant. The hospitality was nothing like I’ve experienced in the USA. Genuinely 10/10 experience and special thank you to pinky for finishing it all off sending me flowers to my next stay in uluwatu.

An amazing resort in the jungle just on the outskirts of Ubud. Easy to get into Ubud but also a quick ride to get to this lovely tranquil place. The resort itself is immaculately maintained and is so beautifully designed and decorated. Extremely comfortable rooms, awesome views of the jungle. One of the nicest places I have ever stayed. Also loved the amazing afternoon tea. What takes it to the next level is the staff. The attention to personal service and detail is second to none. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Everyone had a smile on their face and were always asking if they could help in any way. All I can say is I would happily return to this little piece of heaven. I would definitely recommend it as a great option if you plan to stay in the Ubud area.

We absolutely loved this resort, it’s beautiful and serene and felt very special. I was there on my birthday and they gave me a delicious cake and sang to me. The staff were all incredibly kind and sweet. We regret that we did not have more time to enjoy our stay as it was only for 2 nights.

I originally booked this place since it’s close to the airport for the last part of our stay. It’s very loud with the entertainment at night. The towels smell like mildew. The service is nothing like Ubud village. The positive about this place is all the restaurants on the Main Street and massage places. They are so much inexpensive compared to the hotels. They do have an amazing gym.

The location in the jungle and being close to the waterfall was simply excellent. Secluded and away from traffic. The staff were also superb and especially Dewa Ayu at the reception desk and Yudi in the restaurant. Overall it was like heaven on earth

On our first night during dinner my wife required urgent medical attention. They called the hospital and alerted them of our situation and drove us to emergency. The staff member then waited 3 hours in the car park to drive us back home. It was well past his finishing time. He was very reassuring, and told us not to worry about anything and just to get better. The staff then informed us that the dinner we didn’t get to finish would be made again with no extra charge and kept our bottle of wine. They then also presented us with a honeymoon cake. Not only are they a great resort they are also wonderful people. I cannot be more thankful of The Kayon resort.

Was a remarkable stay. Everyone - housekeeping, front desk, service crews were very attentive and polite. A very meditative and romantic place to relax and recharge. One can hear the sounds of the waterfall and jungle. Would be back to check out kayon valley and kayon jungle in the future. Highly recommend for couples seeking a quiet retreat

We had a wonderful stay at the Kanyon resort. Our room was nice, and our view of the canyon and jungle was amazing. The food was excellent. Laundry service was great and the highlight of the trip was the staff who couldn’t have been better!!

Overall, the Kayon is a nice place. The staff in particular were a big highlight - they are really wonderful and helpful, and the overall property is quite nice including the restaurant and beautiful dance shows. The two things that were negatives for us were the spa and the actual room condition. We booked a room with a private pool, only to learn there are different ones that do not look like the pictures. They did amend this and give us one like the pictures which we very much appreciated, however the condition of the deck and pool area, etc. was not what we would've expected for the price of the hotel (we stayed in another hotel in Ubud also which was half the price and in significantly better condition/more beautiful, thinking the Kayon would be our fancy spot on our honeymoon). The spa massage was good, but awkward - the girls stayed in the room after finishing the massage, and insisted we get up undressed infront of them to leave the room while they cleaned up. It felt strange... usually you have a moment of privacy before and after a massage to get in and out from under the sheets but it wasn't the case for us. They also were whispering to each other and talking quietly together throughout the massage, which we could not understand.

I had a wonderful stay at this resort. Is very romantic and the staff are all friendly and respectful. This resort is very secluded, but for that there’s a shuttle that drive you to Ubud center. I felt save and welcoming at this resort, hence I’m a solo traveler

Beautiful hotel with exceptional service

My husband and I spent 6 nights in Kayon Resort for my birthday celebration. It is an exceptionally well managed resort. Staff paid close attention to all details and ensured your satisfaction. We felt staff genuinely cared about our comfort and wellbeing. They were eager to show us their beautiful hometown and Balinese culture. Breakfast was always cooked to order with attentive staff. We were treated like a family and greeted on daily basis. Yudi and Sriyani’s thoughtfulness and kindness truly warms our hearts. They went Above and beyond to help us in anyway they could. We love our beautiful Villa. This is the most romantic hotel we have ever stayed.

Very very helpful and pleasant staff with every interaction. From check in with Dewi, to all the staff in housekeeping, Sri and Yudi at breakfast in the mornings at the restaurant, Dewa the driver who took us on tours….just amazing; never felt so comfortable and at home away from home. Thanks to you all for making our trip so memorable and worthwhile…just pure love!!!

We felt very privileged to stay at this beautiful resort with happy welcoming staff (including our delightful waitress Sri yanti). Nothing was too much trouble and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. We especially enjoyed our evening meals at the restaurant with Balinese dancing. Some days we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the resort and the food was always delicious with great presentation. We would not hesitate to recommend the Kayon Resort.

Lovely, serene place tucked in the middle of nature! The staff there were all amazing; I really appreciate their attention to small things that made our stay wonderful. For example, due to some flight issues, we arrived very late on our first night (almost close to midnight) and were quite relieved to be able to settle in for the night. The staff then asked if we had eaten already (we had, we were worried there wouldn't be anything to eat once we checked in so we grabbed something otw to the resort) and escorted us to our room, where we found that they had prepared some toasted sandwiches for us! I was really touched that they thought of something so simple (and we still ate the sandwiches regardless, they were delicious). Throughout our stay, everyone was very friendly, and the place was a beautiful respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. (The breakfast was excellent too, we were stuffed every morning and could sometimes go without lunch because we were so well-fed!) Amazing place, would definitely go back again!

Kayon is a great resort with super friendly staff and a gorgeous setting. The big stand our for Kayon is the amazing restaurant. We ate in for the cultural dance night (also the best dancing I have seen in Bali) and the BBQ night - and the food was better than we ate in town. A great place to stay.

Great experience!

Swastiastu! Everything was top notch - the food, the people, the hospitality and the ambience. The spa was superb and the daily Balinese activities a fun way to learn some culture. The live performances especially were a standout. The whole resort is a mesh between traditional Balinese design with batiks, the Ramayana love story, and contemporary elements. We recommend wholeheartedly without hesitation.

Amazing place to stay, very close to nature and I would fussiest one should have plan to spend in resort as well, good amenities one can enjoy As this is close to nature there is some walk required within the resort as well, can be bit tiring

We did 3 nights here on our first trip to Bali and it was magical. The hotel is amazing. The staff were the same nothing is a problem. We stayed in riveredge pool villa and the views were brilliant. We are planning to come back to Bali next year and will be back.

From arrival till departure all staff were the best I have experienced. They all knew your name and remembered this throughout the stay. We were late for breakfast a couple times but there was no issues ordering late breakfast from the amazing Kepita restaurant! Sublime food and service that even some Michelin starred restaurant don’t achieve!

I cannot even express how happy I am I stayed at the Kayon Resort. My partner and I stayed in Villa #2 and it was a dream spot. The romantic atmosphere was spot on. The breakfast was very nice. We had dinner 2 out of the 3 nights in UBUD at the hotel and both were fantastic. I really loved the room and atmosphere the most here. The guest services were also outstanding. They were very helpful and response time was always very rapid. We enjoyed the room service on our deck the last day we were at the hotel. I did not want to leave and would recommend spending more time in the jungle than in the city and beach. We will definitely be back! I highly recommend this resort.

The customer service stood out by far. Even though there were magnificent surroundings. My wife got a stomach bug (not from the hotel I should say) and she was treated with the utmost care. Anything we needed they were immediately on it.

Amazing staff

Amazing!! Never experinced such friendly staff before. Rooms are clean and comfy. Food is really good. We experienced one of the best dinners ever with the royal candle light dinner! Only minus is that it takes a long time for hot water to run and prices are high when booking transport and other activities via the resort.

What a wonerful place to stay in Bali

We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Everyone working at the hotel was warm and helpful. The room was magical. The sound of a waterfall was always in the background. We saw a troupe of monkeys past over in the tree as we had afternoon high tea. The food was fantastic. We Loved Breakfast. This was our favorite meal. Food was interesting, delicious, and left me filled but not stuffed. I ate a lot but didn't gain weight! The service was exceptional! The managers really wanted us to be happy and would bend over backwards to make sure we were. The setting was amazing, with rooms and pool, and eating areas occupying a bluff looking out over jungle with a waterfall and creek at the bottom. We were there a week, and we didn't want to leave when it was time to go.

The staff went the extra mile everyday to ensure we had a fantastic stay. They communicate very well with each other, and remember every detail from our names, the activites we have planned to our dietary requirements. The rooms were large, lovely and clean. They also kept an additional adapter in the room, organic mosquito repellent and a woven bag. These came in handy and were a nice touch. The staff made it very easy to organise excursions. In addition, the spa treatments were a delight, the online booking system made it very easy to prebook these. Finally, the food was great too. Everything from breakfast to dinner, they had a decent variety of vegetarian options too. In short, we loved our stay! Thank you.

From the moment you walk in, greeted with sincere warmth and presented with a welcome flower and drink, to the moment you are ushered out with fond affection, wearing a blessing bracelet and clutching a bag of Balinese coffees to take home, you will feel enchanted by the marvellous Kayon Resort and grateful to have experienced its magic for yourself. My partner and I recently stayed at the River Edge Pool Villa at the Kayon Resort for 2 nights as a special treat for our second anniversary, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. The resort staff went well above and beyond to ensure that we had an absolutely perfect time, from the gorgeous flower display in our room (both on the bed and in the tub!) to our unbelievably romantic candlelit 8 course private dinner to a lovely surprise piece of ‘Happy Anniversary’ cake served at our last breakfast. Gede, Susila, Pinky, and the whole team did an amazing job ensuring that we had a wonderful time, and we will always remember it with much fondness and whole-hearted gratitude. We both strongly recommend a stay at the Kayon Resort for any couples looking for a romantic and enchanting experience that you’ll treasure forever in your heart and memories.

The hospitality and friendliness of the staff is beyond words. They made our stay in Bali and at the Kayon Resort more than we could ever have imagined. Everybody from the restaurant staff, to the room service staff, to the concierge and everyone else was so polite and did everything in their power to make our trip incredible. It was a great experience to stay at this hotel. Very small and unique property. Staff knows you by name after first day and service is incredible. Would recommend to anyone looking privacy and tranquility. Shuttle service to Downtown Ubud every hour which was nice to go shopping or restaurants. Overall great property with exceptional service and food.

KAYON RESORT Review(not Kayon Jungle)

Kayon I stayed in many high end hotels and Kayon is definitely will be the most memorable. Breakfast is the best and can’t be missed. Everyone from the front desk to the restaurant was very friendly and personable. Thank you for making our vacation a great experience at Kayon, this place is a gem. 5 ⭐️ Gede - the GM, Webi - assistant Laden and Susila- housekeeping mgr and I missed the other names of the staff and they are all great . Kepittu restaurant Ni luh and Agung - were both of our servers from the restaurant and they served us the most and everyone else was also tentative. They were very accommodating with my Gluten Free Diet, the toasted GF bread is even better back home. Kudos to the chef and the whole staff.

Great place to relax in a quiet setting, but far from the town. There are hourly shuttle busses to the town. They are FREE"

Amazing resort and staff

The Kayon was truly an amazing hotel. The beauty of the surroundings, the beautiful design of the resort and the staff, they truly go above and beyond to make your stay so memorable. This was our honeymoon so we stayed in a private villa. It was wonderful! Loved every bit of our stay and we will definitely be back again.

Wonderful honeymoon spot

We came here for 4 nights to start off our honeymoon. It is so beautiful, peaceful and romantic! The infinity pool looking over the jungle is just spectacular, I will remember looking over at monkeys chilling in the trees for a long time! The staff cannot do enough for you, everyone is so friendly and the hourly shuttle into Ubud centre very convenient. The food at the Kepitu restaurant is great also. Can't wait to come again.

Loved it but

The location is great, enjoyed the sister hotel visit, but why there was no mention on my birthday which was the day of our check in. The admin I corresponded by email knew that but no reaction. Great shame when you can see they try hard to please customers but missed a big chance to impress.. if not my bd it was perfect.

Wonderful stay at the Kayon

Amazing hotel with amazing service. From the time we were picked up from the airport by one of the hotel staff to the time we left, everything was absolutely perfect. We also booked an excursion through the hotel, which was wonderful with a private driver and tour guide. We had multiple other private tours in Bali and felt that this was truly one of the best. The breakfast was also amazing. On our last day, we had an early departure at 7AM, and they prepared breakfast for us almost an hour early and brought it to our room. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

A beutiful hotel i an amazing place. For those who want to discover Ubud and loves quiet places. I loved it for very special approach ro guests and fpr payong attention to every littledetails - like giving you wet towelswhen you are back from morning walk. The Kayon Resort has a wonderful restaurant with very good prices and very delicious food.

Although our stay was short and sweet, we had the most pleasant time. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, because of the fantastic customer service we would definitely come back here again! The hotel and grounds was great, location was a bit far from central ubud but they offer free shuttles so that did not become an issue. Thanks for having us!!

Beautiful, magical boutique resort

One of the best places we've ever stayed. The Kayon "Truly Ubud" resort is just that. It's a unique and incredibly authentic Balinese experience in Ubud. This small, boutique resort is incredibly peaceful, relaxed, and magical. The staff is very attentive, and genuinely warm and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by the full breakfast menu included in our room price, it's a full menu with many options! restaurant is really great in its own right and we would've been happy to have a meal there even if we didn't stay at the resort. The room was gorgeous, overlooking the small river in the jungle, and the bed was very comfortable. We had an issue with the AC when we first arrived and they came to fix it immediately. We enjoyed the free afternoon tea and snacks by the cafe overlooking the waterfall and the happy hour drinks by the infinity pool. We did the free yoga every morning and they also have a guided walk through the rice patties. We arranged a driver for half a day to take us sightseeing which was easy and reasonable priced. I can't say enough about this resort, but what really makes this resort something special is the staff who all genuinely cared about our experience. One of the servers of the restaurant, Agung, remembered us by name and brought my fiancee a free ginger tumeric juice when her stomach was feeling ill after having had a heavy lunch in town. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Well run resort with beautiful views and staff. Food is excellent location ideal

We stayed at one of the villas for two nights. It was the best hotel experience we've ever had. All of the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was always clean. We had a 3 hour spa session that was the ultimate pampering experience. Additional bonuses was their free walking tour in the nearby rice paddy in the morning. They also offer complimentary yoga sessions in the morning and a free photoshoot around their hotel. Would highly recommend this resort for a relaxing time.

My husband and I spent a week at the Kayon to celebrate our wedding anniversary and his birthday. I cannot thank the resort manager Gede and his staff enough. They are professional, personal and wonderful people. At the start of our stay I was concerned that we may have had to cut our holiday short because we had forgotten essential medication. However after assistance from Gede and his team, the medication was sourced and delivered to our villa the very next day. The food and drinks, pedicure and all the staff were fabulous and we saw monkeys in the jungle from our veranda on the last morning. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Miss Ann and Orion .

amazing location in the middle of the jungle. middle of the island so good access to most sights. 90 minutes to potato head if you want the beach. one of the best hotels i have stayed in!

Beautiful hotel and location

Staff couldn't do enough for us from arrival to leaving. Room was spacious and views from the balcony of the waterfall and jungle were amazing. Breakfast was very good and other meals were reasonably priced and beautifully presented. 10 minutes on the free shuttle bus to Ubud which runs till late. Excellent relaxed stay and we shall be returning to the hotel very soon and also trying the new Kayon jungle resort which also looks amazing.

The hotel itself is stunning, but the staff really make the place! So genuinely lovely and friendly, and will do anything in their power to make your stay as enjoyable and easy as possible.

Peaceful Perfection

We stayed one night in the villa and a subsequent night in the suite. The latter was a smaller room without the private pool but still had most of the other comforts of the villa. The balcony overlooking the river was beautiful. The resort is amazing, peaceful and perfect to escape for a night or even a few days. The inclusive yoga class and mini gym are wonderful for some activity if required. The main swimming pool is breathtaking as it overlooks the valley underneath, which creates an amazing backdrop against the luscious landscape. The staff are without doubt attentive, friendly and just amazing. Their attention to our needs was really appreciated. The time that they devote to providing service that we required, be it places to visit, restaurants outside, or any other request within the resort was handled warmly. We couldn't be more grateful to them, and hope to be back again soon.

Beauty and Culture all in one place!

This was by far the most beautiful place I have every stayed in all my travels. I cannot say enough about the staff, they were so warm and welcoming - esp. Pinky! I loved how much of the Indonesian culture was reflected throughout the resort, it added to the experience. The complementary shuttle into town is excellent, although walking into Town is not far either, if you are so inclined. The food was amazing, I did not eat off the resort. A friendly stay at a world class resort

The Kayon Resort is a stunning property maintained by some of the friendliest and kindest staff I have ever encountered at any location. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the ease of travel into and out of central Ubud utilizing the hotel shuttle is a huge plus and the on site restaurant offers delicious local fare and plenty of other more familiar options to suit the average traveler for meals eaten on site. I don't know when I'll be back in Bali, but I will be strongly considering another stay at the Kayon Resort when I do get back there.
