What an incredible find!
Absolutely beautiful and welcoming stay. The location is perfect for your first stay in Rome or your 70th. Near authentic restaurants, popular landmarks are all 5-10 min walking distance. On a dead end street so no thru traffic which makes for a quiet stay. Gorgeous large rooms, clean, and incredibly inviting. If you have trouble walking around, or are uneasy, this may not be the place for you.
The hotel was built on top of ancient ruins as part of the Roman Forum which was such a cool and unique experience.
It was very hard to get to with luggages.
Best Stay in Rome!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our amenities. We were met by our host who gave us ice water, a cool place to stay and homemade tiramisù. We received an upgrade, and our room was amazing. The facility was clean, inviting and close to everything in Rome.
My husband and I loved everything about this establishment. The staff were amazing, extremely attentive, and were very accommodating. This place is magical and within walking distance to anything one desires to see in Rome. We will definitely be coming back to stay when we return to Rome.
Inn At The Roman Forum We had spectacular visit to Rome, staying at The Inn At The Roman Forum. The hotel (with part of The Forum onsite) and room was amazing, but it was the service that really stands out. Starting with check-in, we were helped by Sucharest (sp?) who was so kind and welcoming. He happily answered all our questions and helped us make transportation arrangements, and would not accept a tip. Our bellman also cheerfuly brought all our luggage up to our room and gave us a detailed tour of the facilities. I wish I had asked for his name, but we were exhausted from our journey. The staff at the bar/restaurant also went above and beyond. The restaurant terrace is beautiful, and has an amazing view of Rome, including an outdoor patio and a lookout perch. The first night, Ian (Ayan?) served our drinks and snacks and gave us some inside tips on where to to explore. The next day, the breakfast staff was amazing. Ayeth, Ernio, AJ and Mae took such wonderful care of us, we instantly felt like we were in a first-class resort. And the food was outstanding. This hotel was our oasis in Rome and we can't wait to go back!
Staff are wonderful, friendly and very helpful The hotel room itself was fantastic. Got an unexpected upgrade, which was fabulous. Breakfast is amazing and stuff was very helpful with helping to arrange transportation back to the airport. Thanks so much. I would definitely come here again.
The room was beautiful and had all the amenities you would need. The staff were excellent and very friendly. I couldn’t ask for better customer service.
Convenient
The service was impeccable! A huge thank you to AJ, Eranio, Rose, and Mhae for taking great care of us at the hotel!
Perfect stay!!! The air conditioning was cold and the room was very clean. The staff was friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast on the roof every morning was perfect! Location was easy walking distance from everything you would want to see on Rome.
Wonderful stay, the rooftop terrace is so special and unique, amazing to watch the sunset with a lovely cocktail
This location is great. The walkable area for shops and restaurants was excellent. You don’t have to go far for the forum and coliseum tour. The walk to the Vatican is about 1 hour but we did four monument stops, gelato and and excellent cafe for lunch on the the way to the tour. The guides are professional experts. Worth every penny. Hotel made great restaurant recs but there is a fountain with gelato and cafes around it that many people enjoyed.
Very unique and cool hotel. The first employee was very accommodating and even helped us book tix to the Vatican. Later we were locked out of our room after being in the heat all day and very jet-lagged. We were locked out for over 45 mins exhausted and had to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs to ask employees to help. They also told us the power was not going to be working in the morning 8am to noon so we were forced to wake up early, shower, get breakfast, pack bags and check out early etc... after being on a 20-hour international flight the night before, it would have been nice to sleep in. The hotel should have informed us before we booked that there would be no power. We may not have spent the $400 plus dollars to stay there.
Great stay in the Monti
Really cool hotel built into ancient ruins. Lovely rooftop terrace with views. Exceptional service. Room was good size and comfy. One small thing was the lighting was hard to adjust.
FABULOUS
Fabulous hotel, location, decor, service, staff, food and amenities! We has 3 adults in one room and it was very comfortable. Loved the dining room and patio. Very walkable area, close to attractions and restaurants. Loved it!
Fantastic Stay. Absolute Gem!
Fantastic experience at The Inn at the Roman Forum! Hotel staff was kind, friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The hotel is in a great setting, just off a main street, down from the Colosseum and in a quiet area; perfect for walking and exploring the Monti neighborhood, as well as within easy walking distance to the Colosseum, Forum, Domus Aurea, etc, and more. Additionally, it's just a ~15 minute walk to Rome's main Centro Historico. Great service, a welcomed bottle of wine (with our hotels.com Gold status), clean room, good housekeeping, and a near perfect stay. The only thing (and wasn't a big deal) that gave me pause at first when unpacking in the Deluxe Double Room that we booked, was the bed. It was a spring mattress on a box spring instead of memory foam or another more modern type. Though it was not something we expected at a hotel of this caliber, the bed was still perfectly comfortable and we slept very well for every night of our 4 night stay. I would highly recommend this hotel for it's location, exemplary service, unique decor, quiet location, and overall great experience. When/If we return to Rome, I would absolutely stay here again! The hotel was one of the most unique and best hotel experiences we've had in all of our travels across 3 continents and 12+ countries.
Super friendly staff, clean property in a unique location that's near the action yet still in a quiet area.
great
The inn was very unique and beautiful. It was very close to the colosseum and restaurants. We had a wonderful time here.
We loved the location, the rooftop restaurant, the underground historical cellar, but most of all the friendly staff. Our waitress Rose went out of her way to welcome us with everything we needed. The front desk staff worked hard to make checkin and checkout a pleasure by providing us a comfortable cool area to drink wine and dine on some snacks before we turned in for the evening. They truly made our first visit to Rome a pleasure.
Surprisingly spacious Rooms considering being in the Heart of Rome. Hotel staff is Exemplary. Victoria, the morning receptionist is Outstanding, She went above and beyond to help us recover our lost passport. Kudos to all the restaurant staff too, Rose, Zara, and May. Also like to thank the concierges, that attended us during our stay.
Lovely, central area. The staff was very helpful.
Great location, amazing staff, beautiful rooms. Just overall a perfect place to stay in Rome. You can walk everywhere from here, but it's located on a quiet side street. They have a cool roof top terrace. The staff is really friendly.
The hotel was closed because of the COVID-19 but the management found a great solution for us, a beautiful apartment In the center of Rome. We were more than happy!
Unique, small, boutique hotel with friendly staff in a fantastic location. Remember this is an old building in Europe, so it has small stairs and hallways, small bathrooms and not what Americans are used to. But the ambiance, the location and staff are wonderful. You can find fancier lodgings in Rome but you will pay a lot more to be a block from Forum ruins with wine bars, restaurants and amenities within two minutes. Oh and the Colosseum is about a 10 minute walk. Take advantage of the peaceful bar on the top floor overlooking the city, it’s an oasis amidst the buzz of Rome.
We stayed there for 7 nights and the staff was very accommodating and went the extra mile to make our stay run flawless. My wife and i were in a junior suite with a shared rooftop garden that was beautiful. We added rooms for our daughters and their rooms, then 4 floor apartment, all were beautiful with views to match. I would definitely recommend and will return. Special thanks to Matteo
Very lovely place to stay in Rome nice friendly stuffs and the room is very clean as well highly recommended
The location. The lobby waiting room was spectacular, felt like we were in Roman ruins. Th rooftop lounge where we had breakfast was very comfortable. The selection at breakfast was incredible. I would certainly recommend this hotel highly.
Great hotel in a great location. Staff were very helpful and we had a daily call asking if our room was ok Highly recommended
Very nice patio with the view on the forum, good breakfast but disappointed with the room which was not in the main building but next to it in an apartment complex very noisy at night. This was not specified at booking.
The location of the hotel was amazing. Many major sites were within a 10 to 20 minute walk including the Colesseum, Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish steps, main train station, and much more. The room was very spacious. The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great. I would stay here again.
Clean, location, staff, rooftop view, all made for excellent expeirence.
The ruins were the coolest part obviously but the service was truly exceptional! Definitely recommend!
The ruins on the grounds of the hotel are amazing. The staff in the lounge both morning and evening are superb! We were in tiny room 102 with a view overlooking steps. At night there was a bright lantern light that lightened the room making it hard to sleep. The staff did offer to switch our room on the last night but we were headed off to a tour.
The service at the hotel was outstanding especially from Alessia! She provides us with some great recommendations. The location can’t be beat.. steps to the forum, less than 10 minute walk to the colosseum and other great spots. Check out the rooftop terrace for breakfast. Would recommend to anyone headed to Rome!
Great location and a unique way to experience the antiquities of Rome
This property is a very romantic hotel. It is very centrally located to most popular sites in Rome. The Roman Forum, the Coliseum, Etc. I would like to thank the manager Matteo Ginnetti for the excellent service he gave me while staying at the The Roman Forum Inn. An upgraded room and a bottle of Champagne on the house for my birthday was most appreciated! Thanks for making my birthday in Fome a memorable one!!!!
Exceptional!
Fabulous boutique hotel- they gave us an upgrade to the top floor with our friends and we had our own private courtyard!
Free upgrade was nice, breakfast was great. No complaints
I loved everything about this hotel. From the minute we booked the staff reached out to help us with anything we may need. At check in we were treated to a visit of their ancient ruins! And they upgraded us to beautiful 2 bedroom apartment! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Breakfast was delicious with a great variety to choose from!
Perfect location in rome.
From the welcome glass of wine in the private ruins on the hotel site to the views of Rome from the rooftop bar, the stay was fantastic. The room was huge, and beautiful!
Beautiful, intimate, almost hidden hotel with excellent service and convenient location.
Very nice room & hotel, great location, staff was very much on point! Would absolutley recommend!
Impressive breakfast buffet, the structure and ambiance has an authentic Ancient Rome vibe and it is has one of those cool water filtered fountains at the doorstep to drown all that great wine down
This is my favorite hotel I have ever stayed at in Rome and I am very picky. It helped that they upgraded us to one of the nicest rooms but I still think in terms of location service and amenities it was just perfect.
This inn/hotel is located in the city center of Rome. Walking distance to many of the historical sites with The Vatican about a 25 minute walking distance. The staff was amazing and helpful. Room styles range from a single, hotel style room to multilevel apartments. Breakfast was awesome and fresh. Be prepared to walk up steps and stairs, but of course this is Rome. I highly suggest booking this location for a stay in Rome, close to the sites, restaurants, cafes and bars.
The cryptoporticus was so interesting and made it a hotel we will never forget. Breakfast was also amazing - pastries, cakes, delicious coffee, etc. and very friendly staff - Barbara we loved your work!
Much love.
My wife and I stayed for three nights at the Inn, and it was rather fantastic. Our apartment was remarkable cute and inviting (thanks for the upgrade!), the breakfast was stellar, and the location is hard to beat. We were walking distance or a short taxi ride from everywhere. Much love. Also! The staff was exceptionally professional and friendly throughout. We appreciated that. Cheers.
Unique property with views of Roman Forum.
It is a really unique hotel with remains of ancient building in the basement, which was turned into a lounge area for guests’ arrival. We were treated to wine and tiramisu there upon arrival. There is a nice rooftop terrace with the views of Roman Forum, where guests can enjoy free breakfast or drinks in the evening.
Stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time the location is absolutely perfect especially for short stays as it's just a 15 minute walk from the main station, you can walk to the Colluseum or Forum in 5 minutes and the Vatican in 30. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and available 24 hours a day and speak impeccable English. My room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The room was in fact an apartment, with a small balcony, kitchen, separate sitting room 2 bathrooms all at a very reasonable price. Date of stay: March 2019
Excellent location Excellent staff and amenities Highly recommended
Being invited into the Roman Crypto with complimentary wine and tiramisu was a great way tot start the vacation!! The room was clean and the staff beyond wonderful!!!
The staff were very helpful and even gave me and my brother a Birthday cake and drink as a surprise on our Birthday
Great property! Unique! We intend to visit this hotel again.
Our family had a fantastic stay at The Inn at the Roman Forum. Our family of four stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment with two sleeper sofas. The apartment and all beds/sofas were also very comfortable and the entire family was happy. The apartment had everything we needed to enjoy our 6 night stay to include a full kitchen. The entire staff is very well spoken and pleasant to interact with. Valeria and Frederica were especially helpful. They had a nice variety of breakfast items and included grilled items (pancakes, eggs, etc...) cooked on request as well as cappuccino and other coffee drinks. Location? Couldn't ask for a better location. We were able to walk everywhere from Colosseum to Borghese Park. Considering we were right in the heart of Rome, the property was very quiet day and night! We will be staying there on future trips!
Nice stay.
Nice place. Great service.we received a nice upgrade upon check in. Location can’t be beat. The only cons I would say were mosquitos in the room (but we were next to a garden) and the bathroom caulking needing a refresh. It’s an easy fix they should do. Otherwise all perfect.
Don't get fooled, this is not a 5* experience
Nothing about this hotel was 5*, clear from the moment we arrived when after 10 hour flight waiting for the staff to check us in within cramped office area. The 'suite' itself was in a dingy annex next door accessed via a run down lift... room was decent size but fittings and furnishings felt cheap. The facilities in hotel were lacking and annoying small things like different named wifi networks which you have to connect to individually. The staff were very nice but when I asked if it was really 5* hotel I couldn't get straight answer. I would have been happy were I paying £200 per night however at £500+ I expect something much better. I booked due to reviews and can only imagine they were secured at a lower price point. It was either a very good 3* or decent 4*.
Fabulous check in. As they process your card etc , do you stand and wait? Not at all. You are given a small tour under the hotel floors of ruins from a Roman house. Then you sit in one of the ruins’ areas as music plays softly and you are given homemade tiramisu. After that water with peach slices is ready to refresh you or a glass of wine is poured. Suddenly, you are bathed in tranquility . Welcome to the Inn at the Roman Forum! I arrived hot , tired and miserable and left the check-in peaceful and cool .
Great hidden gem!
Great location, close to all of the areas we wanted to see. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance.
This was my 3rd visit to Rome and I have to say I don't think I have ever stayed is such a wonderful hotel before. The staff is so kind & helpful - from the moment you arrive there is no doubt this is going to be an exceptional experience.
Wonderful hotel...highly recommend!! The staff was super friendly and helpful....Not touristy at all but a real Roman feel. Great breakfast in the morning, wonderful appetizers in the afternoon. We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Rome. 5 star hotel!
You must stay here
Wonderful experience! Loved everything about my stay! From the time I walked to the time I left !!! The staff was amazing and helpful and breakfast was awesome!! This hotel is a must and so close to everything
Even prior to check-in the communication was excellent with options for transportation and tours. At check-in the staff provided refreshing drinks and a place to relax in the amazing lower level of the hotel. If that wasn't mind blowing, the townhouse apartment is epic with four floors of relaxing spaces. The location is also perfect with access to the Roman Forum just steps outside the door. I will recommend the this hotel to all my friends and family.
Great place in Rome
Right by the Forum, Collosseum, Palatine, etc. Great service and room. Honeymoon package not worth it.
Amazing stay, amazing staff
We had a great stay and were especially impressed by how helpful the staff were. The breakfast staff baked a different cake every morning to serve with coffee which was a nice touch. The only small criticism I would have is that the images of the hotel’s exterior on Expedia can be misleading as they show a lot of different external areas such as courtyard, outdoor dining, garden... when in fact only one roof terrace is available to all guests. The other areas are private and belong to specific rooms.
The experience of a lifetime
We were upgraded to a 4 floor townhouse tucked around the corner of a main street. Very secluded and private but close enough to walk to restaurants, bars and coliseum. Service was impeccable and at the highest level. The townhouse was like home with multiple floors to lounge. Unbelievable experience. Nowhere else i would stay when visiting Rome.
Boutique hotel with caring, efficient staff. Excellent breakfast service. Unique location makes touring convenient.
Amazing hotel, staff and location. Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Rome!!
Nice hotel close to the Forum
We stayed here one night on our last night in Rome. A bit hard to find. The cab driver had a tough time locating it. No signage...up a small alleyway. Beautiful reception area and very pleasant reception experience. Staff was super friendly and professional everywhere from reception, bellhop, happy hour staff ("G") and the ladies at breakfast. Breakfast buffet was wonderful!
A wonderful experience overall
We had a wonderful time. The staff was great to work with and there was much thought into making sure that all aspects of the stay were enjoyable for guests. We really loved the breakfast, complete with a special baked item delivered to your table each morning and also the evening spread of lite dinner foods that they offered that were included in the cost of the hotel room night. The hotel is located in a super convenient location allowing you to walk vs. take a taxi to most area attractions. We really loved our stay and would stay there again. The only downside of the hotel is that their hallway doors and walls don't seem to be insulated very well and you could definitely hear people going up and down stairwells or if on the first floor, people in the lobby area.
Amazing Location and Wonderful Staff
It was awe inspiring to walk out of the hotel and see the pillars of the ancient Forum just steps away so the location was perfect. The Colosseum and Piazza Venezia were both just a a couple blocks away and also within easy walking distance. We discovered that if we walked in the opposite direction, towards Cavour metro, we came upon what seemed to be a student district with some really cool, funky shops and less touristy and affordable restaurants. The staff at the hotel were genuinely friendly and helpful. They made suggestions and helped make reservations for tours and restaurants which was very much appreciated. As others have noted, the breakfast spread (included) was unbelievably generous, as was the buffet served with a purchased drink in the evening. To add icing to the cake, these meals were served on a rooftop patio, lovely in and of itself, but also with a view of the neighborhood and a beautiful place to watch the sun rise or set over Roman rooftops. Our room was small but clean, and the beds were comfortable, and the cleaning staff did a great job everyday. It was also very quiet in the hotel, set up in such a way that you rarely saw other occupants except if you were up in the lounge. The only thing to consider, is the hotel is somewhat challenging for anyone with mobility issues. I’d had recent knee surgery and there were a lot of steps (outside and within the hotel) to navigate. But overall, a beautiful hotel with a marvelous staff in magical Rome.
Lovely hotel in a great location.
The hotel is very nice and is in a great location for the sights, we could actually see the Imperial Forum from our hotel window. The staff were lovely and very helpful, especially the breakfast staff who gave us a few tips to see some lesser know but still wonderful sights outside of the busy tourist areas on our last day. The breakfasts were excellent, with a variety of cooking options and always served with fresh cakes and pastries which were out of this world. Our room was lovely and spacious and the only down side was the bathroom which was clean but was looking a bit worn and in need or an update. Apart from that one issue we loved the hotel, staff, breakfast and location, we would definitely recommend it and stay there again if we return to Rome.
Just the best hotel we have every staying in,
Staff are excellent and cater to your every need. The room was stunning, the hotel is decorated to a very high tasteful standard.
Amazing hotel!
Great location, great staff and an all round wonderful experience. I can't wait to stay here again I will be recommending it to everyone!
Great location, quiet and very friendly staff. The buffet breakfast was a treat and showed amazing creativity with different savouries each day
Exceptional
Amazing hotel with a fantastic location. Staff was very attentive and quick to help in any way. Very clean hotel and the breakfast was great. Highly recommend.
Outstanding hotel with great location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This small, boutique hotel has an optimum location on a quiet street, yet is just steps away from the Roman Forum and Colosseum. The staff is uniformly friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. The included breakfast is exceptional, including eggs or pancakes to order and a truly terrific buffet, overseen by cheerful, helpful Barbara who makes some of the pastries herself. Evening happy hours in the fireside penthouse lounge or adjacent rooftop terrace overlooking central Rome feature more nice snacks. In sum, this is a wonderful hotel offering a perfect base for exploration of a magical city.
Great stay at "the inn"
Everything was perfect!
Great hotel in fantastic location
Wonderful hotel, breakfast amazing, room perfect, location and staff brilliant
The Inn
Welcoming and helpful staff. Great place with a ton of history.
Fantastic location- near to the main attractions
The hotel staff were very friendly and as a great surprise they had upgraded our room as it was my husband's birthday. It was on a very quiet street but very near the city centre and lots of lovely restaurants. Another unexpected surprise was that they had ancient rooms under the hotel, so you could drink your coffee in a 2000 year old room!
Best stay ever. Loved the staff, Inn, and location
From day one couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during our Rome stay. Staff was great, room clean, breakfast above and beyond great, and location couldn’t be any better. Will be the only place I stay when returning to Rome one day.
Great location- could walk to the Malor sites
My only comment is that it’s hard to find and involves lots of steps. Steps everywhere and for an older person it is challenging. Nice having part of the Roman Forum wall! Wonderful staff - good breakfast.
Great Value, Service and Location!!!
I would highly recommend this hotel and think that anyone would struggle to find any thing better a this rating and price. The location was great (on the edge of the Roman Forum) and we were able to walk to all of the tourist attractions that we wanted to see. The staff were all excellent and very friendly. It's well worth using the bar in the evening for a drink before heading out where appetisers are served with your drink. We were also upgraded to an apartment which had everything you could want for a long weekend. This was the perfect hotel for a long weekend away in Rome!
Great Honeymoon
Amazing experience. This was my first trip to Rome. The service at the Inn made my trip even better. Very accommodating.
Beautiful Stay in the Heart of Rome
We stayed for 3 days and it was overall excellent. The stuff was very friendly and the room was beautiful. There are two metro stations nearby and the Colosseum was in walking distance. A walk to the centre took about 15-20mins by foot and to the Vatican 5mins by metro. Wen enjoyed our stay, especially with the very nice breakfast (included) and the nice overview over the city on the Hotels terrace.
Outstanding Location, Great Service
The hotel is an incredible experience, starting with the unique situation above a cryptorium, to the location right next to the Forum. Exceptional service from all employees, special thanks to Barbara, who genuinely enjoyed chatting with guests over breakfast and giving tour recommendations. The rooms were great, my only complaint was that I was right below the breakfast room and cocktail hour bar, it could get a bit loud up there sometimes. It’s a small hotel so there are not a lot of guests and they can spend a lot of time with each guest – – which is wonderful. Also a strange sewer smell coming from the bathroom at times, but I think that is pretty common with most hotels in Rome. The location was also incredible, 10 minute walk from the Trevi fountain and right next to Colosseum. Would definitely recommend this place, one of the best hotel staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting!
Wonderful Boutique Hotel
We highly recommend The Inn at The Roman Forum. My husband and I spent 5 nights at this hotel in early December and absolutely loved it. The Inn is truly special - the reception area includes a 2,000-plus year old archeological site. The level of comfort, service, quality is superb. We look forward to a return visit to Rome and to this hotel!
Great Rome hotel
Great property and staff was amazing. Breakfast in the AM was fabulous. Location is a little hard to find, but a 5 minute walk to the Colosseum.
NICE HOTEL CENTRALLY LOCATED FOR THE BEST PLACES
WONDERFUL TRIP, LOVELY HOTEL WITH LOTS TO SEE AND EAT AND PEOPLE VERY FRIENDLY
Top notch service and perfect location.
The Inn at Roman Forum was amazing !! The service was top notch and you couldn’t get a better central location. Rooms were very nice and well appointed.
Great, small hotel in a super location
Very nice staff. It's a small hotel so you get great attention. Rooms are great, and there's a ruin in the basement. Super cool place.
Amazing service and very home atmosphere!great location
Great service in the best part of town
It was a fantastic discovery. The location is amazing and the hotel is build around a roman house dating 50 bc. The staff and service are beyond amazing.
The Inn at the Roman Forum
Excellent hotel right in the heart of Rome. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Apartment cleaned each day to a high standard. Would highly recommend.
Quality hotel near Forum
Excellent welcome and shown into crypt area with coffee wine and water as admin was taken care of. Staff extremely helpful and friendly, rooms beautiful and lovely breakfast on roof terrace looking out over the Forum. Always helpful with advice and service top notch. Would recommend to all.
Great location
Was my daughters first visit and couldn't have asked for a better hotel she really enjoyed her experience
This little hotel was absolutely fantastic in all regards. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.
The Inn at the Roman Forum Luxury Collection - The Inn At The Roman Forum | Hotel in Rome | Travala.com
Absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was gorgeous and amazingly roomy. The staff really made us feel special and were happy to accommodate every request. Tucked away in a side street but very close to the Colosseum and forum.
