Beautiful room for a short romantic break

A real let down sadly!

Overall a disappointing stay. We booked this hotel on the basis it was very well reviewed and it didn’t live up to our expectations. Communication was good in advance of our stay. Having informed them of our arrival in advance our room wasn’t available to check in to. We were offered a welcome drink during the wait but only after asking how long our room would take to be ready. The room itself was good but let down by the drain smell in our room which required us to keep the bathroom door shut. The TV also didn’t work on a number of channels. The location is very good for access to the Park and Victoria train station. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in London and sadly this didn’t live up to the hype!

The original room booked was quite small for the price paid, however I did upgrade to the largest room option, which was large enough, and the hotel did reduce the normal upgrade fee because I was a VIP guest. The hotel itself was really nice, clean and nicely decorated, the facilities were very good, and the staff were very helpful and professional.

London 2 night stay

Location amazing, great staff, breakfast ok. Shame the restaurant was shut, but luckily there was an amazing restaurant across the road. I would definitely come back.

This hotel is a new discovery for us and we are thrilled with it! So much so, we cancelled another reservation to extend our stay here. Beautiful, elegant with high end service and a wonderful staff who have an eye for details. This is a great hotel. We can’t wait to return.

The hotel has a cosy boutique feeling, with nice decor. Unfortunately the check in process is slightly confused and lengthy. We arrived and were asked to take a seat and then they brought paperwork and a card machine to take a deposit, we were then left uninformed as to next steps and waited for 40 mins before being shown to the room. The room was very small and rather dark but well appointed.

It was okay. Comfortable and clean. Easy access to transportation. Good dining and shopping options. Nothing extraordinary about the hotel itself. The cleaning staff was very friendly and pleasant to interact with.

Fabulous hotel that is clean, quiet, and has excellent attentive service in a great central location! Easy walk to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Parliament. Many good dining options within one block. Highly recommend and will definitely stay here again on our next visit to London!

The room and especially the shower was small but expected I'm sure in London. Onlt real complaint is that the water was only tepid, not hot

Gem of a hotel with excellent customer service

Very new and swanky hotel a few minutes walk to Buckingham Palace, the Eye, Westminster Abbey etc. Great location. The room was richly appointed but small size wise with no view. Our room was not quite ready at check-in which was disappointing. We then had an issue with the door handle breaking off but the staff were good about fixing it right away and even gave us a fruit basket apology with a handwritten note. The complimentary water bottles, milk, coffee and tea were a nice touch.

Very impressed with the hotel, rooms are a great size. What was even better was the service. Very attentive and can't do enough for you.

Staff were incredibly welcoming! Clean, quiet and fantastic room. Only downside was my room was a bit dark with not a lot of natural light but I would stay at the hotel again.

Loved this hotel. Its appearance is so deceptive-not that there is anything wrong with it. It’s just that the interior and service are truly 5 star.

Almost 5*, a shame the air conditioning wasn’t very cool, the room was a bit stuffy and the milk wasn’t topped up despite asking. Overall it was a good stay but a little room for improvement.

Great location and great hotel!

The Guardsman was a fantastic place to stay during our family's 5 night stay in London. Just down the street from Buckingham Palace, the location was perfect for walking to the main sights and also for getting on the tube or the bus to get to other parts of the city. The hotel staff was very helpful when we needed to call a taxi and when my father in law requested an extra bed sheet. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was very nice as well. Thank you!

Very good and comfortable

This was a great find in Westminster. I had no trouble getting around London by Uber, foot or catching the tube from this location. I will agree with other travelers that the rooms were a bit small but I didn’t find it an inconvenience. The street is very busy as well and there were busses driving by all day. Thankfully at night it was very quiet. The one issue I found, was the lack of ease in finding the hotel entrance. There was no grand sign on the building. I may be wrong, but I think there was just the door with small signage. So if you don’t know what you’re looking for you will walk right past it. Upon arriving you need to buzz in and then you’re greeted by the amazing staff. You’re offered a drink during check in and the porter takes you to your room and gives you a tour. I found my sleeping arrangements to be very comfortable. There is a Nespresso machine in the room and they do give you one free bottle of still water and milk in the mini bar. I was thankful for the safe in the room. Unfortunately I did not explore the breakfast options in the morning and I don’t know why I didn’t try dinner. Checking out was easy and I was given the option to store my luggage while I made my last errands around London. I was under the impression that they had an airport shuttle service that was offered but I was informed they would help acquiring a car service, cab or Uber. I ordered my Uber myself. I really enjoyed my stay at The Guardsman and highly recommend it.

The location is excellent and the room conditions are good. But the rooms are small and lack of facilities in the hotel.

It was great

We had two days in London before traveling to South Hampton to meet a cruise. This was a great option. Room was on the small side (not so much so that it was a real problem, just not as comfy as a larger room would have been.) Service/cleanliness and location made up for it. We'd stay here again. A higher end hotel, walkable to restaurants, pubs...but not noisy.

What a lovely hidden gem. This property was perfect. Small and intimate. Well maintained. Easy to get around London from here. Will certainly stay here again.

Amazing hidden gem of a hotel in the perfect location as a base for exploring. Staff and service was exceptional from start to finish and they really made us feel welcome and looked after.

Very small room. They did not clean well the room next day. No room for luggage .

Staff very helpful

We stayed in this hotel after our cruise so that we can explore London for a few days. We had a fantastic experience and booking a stay again in October after such a wonderful experience with the staff, the property, the location and the staff, the staff and the staff. They ensured we were welcome and comfortable from the moment the door of our cab opened when we arrived to the moment we left. They assisted us with booking the hop-on hop-off bus, our cab to the airport and lunch and dinner recommendations. I think we found OUR hotel in London. We are booking it for October 2024 when we come back and will be booking it again in 2025.

We chose the Guardsman because it is very close to Buckingham Palace and Westminster. The road the hotel is on is surprisingly quiet for such a central location and the hotel is discretely tucked away. It is also conveniently close to an underground station. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Our room was not particularly large but was stylish, very modern, well appointed and comfortable. The public areas were also very comfortable. It's not the cheapest hotel in London but it is the best I have stayed in. I would definitely go back.

Deserving of the 2023 Condé Nast award—the attention to detail resulted in a very luxurious experience! Bathroom especially comfort-giving. Most incredible room service on topped by quality and luscious flavor of the food & wine!! I will return here my next London stay.

Exceptional service and top drawer boutique hotel very close to Victoria and Westminster, a hidden gem.

Lovely staff!

Excellent hotel staff, hospitality incredible, we had a room upgrade upon arrival, served tea and brownies by a very welcoming reception.

Overall management is pretty good. Shout out to the weekday housekeeping manager and weekday's housekeeping staff, they're awesome!

Beautiful decor. Friendly and very helpful staff. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Just a one night stay but would rate the hotel highly. Great location a short walk from st James Park tube station. The room was to a high standard meaning a pleasant stay and good nights sleep. The resteraunt was very good albeit pricy. Only minor gripe would be that the staff were a touch too attentive at times. For example at dinner there was a bit too much interrupting with questions when my partner and I were mid conversation. It’s good that the staff are attentive but sometimes less can be a bit more. Overall would recommend for a london stay though.

This hotel is perfectly situated if you are a tourist. All services at the hotel are great. Fantastic location for breakfasts nearby, as well as dining and Pubs in the evening. I will definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel. Our room was rather warm and stuffy however. Windows don’t open. We didn’t get offered a room upgrade as part of being an Expedia Gold member.

I can’t say enough good things about The Guardsman. From the moment we walked in the service was amazing. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The restaurant below provides afternoon tea and it was seriously one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. It was truly incredible and the desserts were delicious. If and when we visit London in the future, we will definitely be staying at The Guardsman again. Thank you to the staff for making it such a lovely, memorable experience.

Excellent service, great location

We'll equipped rooms. Nice bar and restaurant. Small boutique hotel which had all you need.

The staff was great. However a few things could be improved. We received an upgrade but the room did not seem like an upgrade. My sister who was traveling with me and did not have an upgrade had a bigger room...Also one of the days a trash bag was left in our room. Seems like the cleaning staff simply forgot it. So for hours a trash bag with other peoples trash sat in our room.

I can't explain how much I loved this hotel. I would wake up smiling every morning from my comfy bed under my fluffy comforter. Everything from check in to check out was absolutely flawless and I cant rave about this hotel enough. I got a fantastic deal bundling my flight with my stay through expedia and I'm so glad i went with my gut and booked the Guardsman. Not only is it gorgeous and cozy, but the location was perfect. Walk to the sites or to multiple tube stations and get literally anywhere! Just stay here.

Fantastic Stay

We stayed here for our mini moon in mid October and had a fantastic stay. On check in we were offered some complimentary drinks in the lounge whilst they took our suitcases up to the room for us. We were then escorted to our room where the gadgets were explained to us. The room was comfortable and hi-tech although a bigger window would’ve made the space better. The staff are impeccable and consistently offered to help wherever possible.

Great location, wonderful staff, and cute boutique feel to the place.

Not the 5 Star experience we were expecting, unfortunately. The staff seemed to lack experience, rooms were not super clean, some mold in the bathroom, sink didn't drain properly. Room was quite small for this price point in comparison with our past London hotel experiences. We were expecting more from a 5 star rated hotel. Probably should rate more like 4. However, it was a really Great location!!

The service and attentiveness was excellent. Compliments to Zoe for her quick responses, her cheerfulness and her knowledge.

A chic hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Well selected amenities and very comfortable bed with model interior design. Excellent location with only a few mins away from the Buckingham plaza and cardinal place with lot of restaurant choices.

Loved this hotel! The staff were all so polite and accommodating. The rooms were updated in appearance and electronics. And they even gave us a fruit bowl in the room.

Had a wonderful experience at The Guardsman. The staff were all very professional. The room was extremely comfortable with high tech. amenities. Will definitely stay here again. The location can’t be beat. It is walking distance to everything.

The service was excellent! The room was clean and had many amenities. It was an easy walk to the palace and to the theater.

Stayed at the guardsman Boutique hotel in December 2022 all I can say is NO HOTEL WILL EVER COMPETE, not only is the hotel absolutely stunning but the service is amazing . The king size rooms are very spacious in terms of London hotel sizes, extremely modern and house keeping does a phenomenal job multiple times a day. Book the guardsman you won’t regret it!
