Don' believe the hype

Really bad, hotel is old. The bed was comfy but there was quite a large number of ants on my table. Also the bathtub is high from the ground, not easy to get in and very slippery. This hotel is at best a 2.5- 3 star hotel. Oh an international cards barely work

Many problems at this hotel. Room refrigerator would not work. They would not replace it. Guest wifi was not working for two days. Electricity constantly going off and on. Very nice staff but poor management! Needs help

the pictures make this property look great but it is far from that. The rooms are so small and you can forget about putting clothes away for your two week stay you have to keep them in your suitcase the closet space is non existent. The room filter was bad because I became so sick when in the room. Also the staff barges in your room after saying to wait. Would never go back here the pool isn't nice it's dirty but they will charge you everything just to get in there. AVOID

Tranquil & Refreshing

The check-in was smooth, the facility is not brand new, but well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. A great get-away for the family. Wide area for walks and relaxation. Ample parking space. The swimming pool area is great! I definitely want to come back!

This was not really what I expected. When I was a kid my dad brought the entire family here on several occasions this was like a dreamland for us. The team were okay, the structure and facilities need a massive upgrade.

Federal Palace has that vintage grandeur especially around the foyer, which is nice. Also has very nice grounds at the back with a nice view of the water. Externally though, it could do with a refresh and....what's the intent with the seemingly empty and gradually degrading tall building next door to the main hotel? Hopefully the owners will get the investment required to fully utilise both buildings,as the hotel is a classic.

Not worth it

Not as nice as pics. Needs major updating. Especially to bathroom. Sheets had stains. Bathtub poor. Scary and unfriendly staff. Could tell from the moment I walked into the lobby that I made a mistake. Will not stay again. Way OVERPRICED.

I was in the area for 10 days for family. My first impression was great! Check in was smooth, but when I got to the room it wasn’t the best experience. I had to change rooms and it made it a little better. I had to be ok for staying there for 10 days. Something came up and I had to go to another state and the hotel made accommodations for me to return. On the second check in, it was a difference between night and day. Everything was clean, smelled nice, clean sheets! I was very comfortable for the remaining of my stay. Breakfast was very good. I was also pleased with lunch which I had twice and we did room service once. They had options that were good if your not use to eating African food. This hotel was family friendly and quiet, they had a small casino and a comfortable bar for adults. If your staying during the week the pool was very quiet and comfortable. Weekend was family weekend. But I would recommend you stay here.

It was a family stay and we had great fun. The kids had fun at the pool and the slides was definitely a winner, The staffs were also very responsive and flexible. We really enjoyed our time.

Fantastic staff across the hotel, who really made you feel welcome. The ladies at breakfast were especially awesome. They could do with more vegetarian options on their menu - people’s diets are changing! Comfy room and great location.

This hotel is unfortunately a shell of its former glory. Musty smelling carpeting, old furniture, noisy air conditioning, sewage smell, blocked drainage and cold showers tainted my stay here. Granted, the garden is gorgeous along with the tranquility of the morning breakfast which also stands out as exceptional. Pool is also very kid/family friendly with the slides and a mega sized bouncy platform. Will I recommend it. No! I had to move rooms 3 times. I definitely overpaid and I’d rather stay at one of the newer hotels.

Had to pay for a lot of uncommunicated extras

It’s an okay hotel but standards just fall short. It’s a different policy depending on who you talk to. Also had a room with a kid and even though says includes breakfast found out it’s just the adults and I had to pay for the child which was never advertised. Also I couldn’t have visitors come see me by the pool without them paying to get in which doesn’t make sense so really felt let down by the standards and did not have as great a stay as I would have liked as kept having to compromise to suit the hotel rules.

The breakfast is great. The que to get in should be managed better. The check-in staff needs some serious customer service training. The customer must be made to feel like a customer. I did not leave feeling valued at all.

The A/C doesnt work (stayed in multiple rooms), they kept lying saying the room itself was broken. The power goes out 3-4 times a day. The WiFi barely works, not even worth using.

I booked an early check in and was surprised upon arrival that they expected me to pay an additional $100 for that convenience. My first room smelled like diesel fuel. The second room smelled like water damage and the third room had dark brown water. The check in too nearly three hours.

room was perfectly clean, but basic maintenance lacking. Cabinet hinge broken, missing basin plug, hallway carpets need washing Service was very very slow, bar , restaurant, reception. With a single exception, all were very friendly

Detached and beautiful scenery especially the waterfront.

The grounds of the property are very nice. The pool area is inviting. The water slide broke and was not repaired before I left so I did not get to try it. The room was a nice size but was in need of renovation. The building is obviously old but that lends to its charm IF it were well maintained. There was a smell of mold in some areas, the room felt damp and there was a smell of engine exhaust when the power was being run by generator. The meals were very good and there was sufficient variety. With some upgrades and renovation. this property could be superb.

The check in took a long time and the staff didn’t look interested in providing service.

We booked a “sea-view” room but they said they didn’t have it available so we had no view. Also, the water is brown which is completely unacceptable. Unfortunately they were not accommodating and offered no resolution.

Generally cool

It was a bit expensive for the drinks and food and also the pillows are not comfortable. Apart from the casino, not much activities happening there. Service was top notch and hotel was generally comfortable.

Everything and everyone security, staff, checking in and out. I arrived in the morning on a virgin Atlantic flight. The receptionist offered me to check in early and quoted a price with no breakfast. I told the receptionist that l do not mind waiting until checking time. I was allowed to relax by the swimming pool. Later that day it rained heavily. I returned back in the waiting area to my surprise l was given a very early check at 11:am. My experience exceeded my expectation. Keep up the professionalism.

Expected More From a 5 star hotel

I will stay elsewhere on my next visit to Lagos. Service was disappointing. Room service was slow and food expensive and inconsistent. Transportation fees were also inconsistent and on the last day of my stay there they did not honor my requests, even though I had told them specifically what the arrangements were and they charged me for them. Older place. Poor internet. Shower design results in water getting everywhere no matter what. Pool is quite nice but you have to go through a process and get a wrist ban to use it. Breakfast was good. Security seems good. Housekeeping and laundry service was good. But it sure does not seem like a 5 star hotel overall.

Rooms are comfortable with captivating view of the movements at Lagos port. Good breakfast spread. However, the service is unpolished and slow, generally not up to standards with a higher end establishment. Rooms can get humid and lack power sockets in close proximity to the bed. Establishment would benefit from an esthetic and service refresh.

The swimming pool was heavenly. The junior suite with ocean view was no view at all. Always ask only for those on the fifth floor. All others was blocked by the roof and air conditioning machines etc. Better yo take a standard room on the fifth floor which then had such lovely view of the ocean and port. At night it was so lovely to watch

Nothing much nothing really to brag about the shower amenities where subpar Bathroom floor flooded ever time I showered and no way of containing the shower water to the bath tub half the electrical outlets didn't work but i did really like the pool and pool area pool very clean and well maintained the staff really made up the difference service was A1

The staff were very polite and helpful. The only thing i didnt like was that the lobby smells of cigarette smoke.

Lots of natural light in the lobby. The chef on duty, Monday night, was incredibly attentive. Showing us all our dinner options. We had 20 minutes before the restaurant closed. Pascal was great! He took our many suitcases to our room, while we quickly ate dinner. Came back downstairs, had made a request to change my room! Said, it was not up to their standard. Very good customer service. The rooms could use an update. Especially on making plugs and or sockets more accessible for global travelers. We’d return because of the staff and the location. Much appreciation!

Nice Hotel but lacks daily activities to entertain

I wish the hotel had more daily activities to entertain the guests. It is a beautiful edifice that meets the needs of business travelers. The hotel needs to pay more attention to the needs of Nigerians in diaspora who also can afford to stay in a nice hotel and expect activities to entertain a family.

Good but slightly old. Rooms are a bit compact but neat and clean

Very good hotel and great location! A very nice swimming pool overlooks the ocean, there are good tennis courts so I will bring my tennis shoes and racquet next time, a jumping pad or trampoline is available by the ocean, great breakfast, the gym is always opened and the beds and rooms are comfortable.

From the moment you drive into the hotel, the security come and meet you to help with your luggage, and there is a welcome drink at the reception. The hotel driveway and lobby is beautiful. The back garden and the pool area is also well kept and beautiful. The room is spacious and well kept. The only thing is just minor maintenance work .i.e. the window in the bathroom needs changing, the transparent curtain underneath the main curtain needs washing or changing, and the bath tub needs to be white without any black scrapping, or black mould. These are small maintenance work that will make a hige difference to the presentation of this beautiful hotel.

The reserved sea view room was not given. Staff were very courteous and helpful, food is good but a little pricey. Overall a good place to stay.

The bellmen are great. Will do anything for you. Check in is slow - but it is Africa. The bar and restaurant wait staff are annoyingly slow. The food is sub par.

Room size was very small compared with others on Victoria Island yet cost was higher.

Very Nice stay. My Wife and I was happy for the fact that we can go for a stroll after 11pm in Lagos. We live in the UK and we think that the hotel is cool for Nigeria. The gate entrance is not glamorous but very safe inside. The have a very nice swimming pool with rides and hotel has a very cool ambience to it. Breakfast is fine, but food and drinks are really expensive. Would we stay there again? YES. My only advice is to make the rooms (standard) much more modern and the hotel of that size should have spa facilities. Overall, very Good

The staff is great! Benjamin, Bukola and George were extremely kind and helpful even before I arrived, offering airport pickup and any type of required assistance.

Very good as usual. The lobby was excellent as usual. The dining area was very well attended by polite people. The only thing i did not like is the absenseof an iron and a board. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay

what i couldn’t do is connect my other devices to the wifi only one was allowed per room other then that everything else was excellent

The hotel is staff is very friendly. They do everything they can to make their guests feel safe when visiting Lagos. They give out large complementary large bottles of water and the breakfast buffet is delicious. I would certainly stay in this hotel again very I travel back to Nigeria.
