The staff is wonderful
We had called for an early check in and were told that would be no problem our room would be ready. when we arrived, we were notified that the room wasn’t ready so they could put us in a room but it would be a $50 upgrade, as we had expected to get in early we just agreed as we needed to drop our stuff off to get where we were going. Then as we left, I had made mention that had happened to us and I just felt it wasn’t really great to expect to get our room and then spend more than we had anticipated. They just said okay. No apology made. Also the elevator was not working as we left which I get stuff like that happens, we had waited at the elevator for a long time before realizing what had happened then walked about 10 flights down. Checked out and lots of people were arriving not able to get to their room without walking up. Again, I understand that things break down but no apology for the inconvenience either. Was rather disappointed with the front desk service as we’ve stayed here multiple times and love it but just didn’t find it friendly or accommodating this time round. Other than that the hotel itself is beautiful as always and the lounge is a very nice space, food is always great.
We always enjoy our stay at the Fairmont downtown Winnipeg! Especially during Festival du Voyageur!!
Parking seemed difficult if not using valet.
Great location, excellent service
Valet parking was awesome for only a few dollars more per day, especially with cold winter weather. Saltwater pool was awesome! Excellent service. Needs some surface maintenance but overall very good. Also great location: close to The Forks and Exchange district.
Clean, safe and conveniently located.
The sauna is unavailable
Its a lovely hotel and the staff is always great.
Amenities in the hotel were not working - No TV on our room. Asked for maintenance no one showed up. Disappointing stay
Great Management
Thank you fairmont GM and Manager for the support and improvisation on making sure that my stay is worth the memory.
Staff was pleasant.
Outdated property, but very clean. Kind bell service.
It was a great stay, close to restaraunts & venues. The hotel itself was clean and bedding was very comfortable. The pool and sauna on the top floor was very nice & clean.
The beds are comfortable. The pool and sauna were nice and warm. Wish the room had a mini fridge.
Very quiet, friendly staff
Okay
Construction around the building but other than that it was great! Friendly helpful staff.
The room was very comfortable; lived the shower. We ate meals in the lounge restaurant and had excellent food, drink and service. Hotel is walking distance from several museums and a short taxi ride to Fork Park venues and train station. We could have walked there as well, but the sidewalks were icy and we had luggage.
wished there would have been bottled water in the room and more choice on the TV
Staff was great all over the hotel. Very safe
Not honeymoon worthy
Functional, but hotel is a little tired. Fine for a night or two for business. But not for a honeymoon.
The staff were friendly and prompt service in in room dining
I really enjoyed my stay and will stay again
Amazing hotel. Definitely recommend!
God bless all
Good
Didn’t like the plumbing and showers and the rooms. Need an upgrade. I was moved because of a massive water leak from the ceiling and shower. Paint, carpet, furniture is old and dated and looking dirty.
Great location if you want to be right downtown at the centre of Portage & Main. Lots of good restaurant options a short walk away -- and Hy's Steakhouse next door, accessible without having to walk outside. Nice onsite bar with interesting cocktails. Front desk and valet staff exceptional.
It was great. We are hockey fans perfect for walking to the Canada live center for the Jets games
This hotel is not bad for a visit in the very cold weather - when stepping out for a meal is not a great option. The lounge and the Velvet Glove restaurants onsite are both quite nice, and the hotel is connected with underground hallways to some other resources too. The room however is a bit out dated - indeed carpet, furniture, and details like curtains and lampshades. Overall not bad, but with some updates to the guest rooms it would be even better.
It was a very excellent stay, would stay here again!
Very good stay. Amazing view.
Lovely hotel
I was here for a stay-cation with my partner. There was an art display in the lobby from Villes de Fleur which was cool. The manager solved an issue with our credit card that we were having with processing the deposit. The toiletries are made in Quebec, with a lovely rose scent. Bed was incredibly comfortable, like sleeping in a cloud.
First of all we were never told that the doors are going to be closed if you are coming from the parking after midnight or whatever On the other hand the heat for the room wasn’t wokring well someone came to fix it but it didn’t worked for us
Top notch accomodations
Wouldnt stay anywhere else
Really enjoyed staying here.
Very nice hotel
I would say, overall, over average hotel. Rating 3 plus.
We always enjoy pur stay at the Fairmont. Its quiet, clean and always close to the happenings in downtown Winnipeg & The Forks!
It’s mostly really nice. Good value in today’s expensive market. Some things are a little old, like the tub. But overall very clean. Staff was super helpful. Convenient for walking the indoor paths to other areas downtown. We did the dining experience “le petit chef “ which was fun, though a little pricey. Parking added on a considerable amount to the bill. But overall a good experience. I was surprised there wasn’t a hot tub, but the pool area was really nice and the water was warm.
Average stay
The stay was very good as usual. Unfortunately we had a bad experience with the staff in the bar. I'm diabetic and ordered a diet coke but i got a regular coke instead.
Nice stay
The food in the restaurant was awesome, we had a nice stay in the room.
View from the room was great!
Amazing
The front desk sent us a personal card and chocolates to our room after we checked in, this is the attention to detail and quality that will keep us coming back. The valets we very friendly and professional. Fairmont is a great brand!
Room specially the wash room was not user friendly for an elderly. Toilet was very low no grab bar around that area.
The staff were polite and kind. Even when they were very busy with customers. The rooms were spacious and clean. It felt welcoming
Valet parking was nice to have. Convenient hotel because it connects to the Canada Life centre through tunnels and sky walk. Staff were professional and friendly.
Put some love into it
Needs lots of love for a Fairmont
Very nice, but over priced and that area of winnipeg is getting so bad
Flew in for a quick work conference. Location was convenient and staff were friendly. Would have loved a hot tub with the pool! The sauna was not operating properly. The bed was very comfortable.
Great hospitality and staffs.
It was all good
Great stay, Great location, friendly staff
Loud party on our floor
On two occasions I asked the hotel to arrange cabs for us to the airport before 6am. In each case the cab appeared and we reached our destination in a timely arrival. However, neither of the drivers was fluent in English, and neither had our name, the name of the party that had ordered the cab in the first place. This led to confusion, not certainty, and the Hotel staff was no help either. This is NOT a professional way to care for and accommodate guests. It is amateuriish and creates unneeded stress on the hotel guests. You can do better.
Good stay in the Windy City.
Lobed thw food, the stature, the location, and the rooms were good
Beds were really nice! Rooms were clean but definitely showing their age. Staff were fantastic! A fresh coat of paint and a few in room upgrades would go along way. There is also no mini bar in the room anymore. Dining at the hotel is severely over priced.
Good stay
Good stay at a reasonable rate. Just an overnight so didn’t use a lot of the hotel’s amenities. Rooms and hallways a bit dated ( due for an upgrade) but very clean.
All was good but outside was not safe and people panhandling on tjr street.
Very comfortable and rustic feeling , classy
Old Building is still in good shape and has accessibility to food and commerce services You dont see much Valet services in Winnipeg hotels other than Fairmont. Great. I ould recommend to friends to stay there
Comfy and spacious rooms.
Like how Canada Life Centre attached by walkways as we came for an event there. It was crowded at hotel entrance with valet cars.
The room with filthy. Dust everywhere. Furniture, drapes and carpet torn up and damaged.
Great location, friendly staff providing great service
We had a great stay. Excellent staff!
Beds are too small for a couple
TV and phone didn’t work when we first arrived. The bed sagged deeply in the middle. Neither the bathroom or closet doors closed.
Great staff and customer service
Perfect location to walk to the forks and the human rights museum plus easy access to good restaurant.
It was really nice with gorgeous views and in a nice location! The room service was amazing and the food tasted great! I had nothing but an amazing time!
Always a wonderful place to stay, would be nice to see a coffee shop in the lobby. Valet employees are awesome and always remember your name! Very helpful
We will return
Hotel not up to par
Dirty water coming out of the faucet. This shouldn’t be the standard for a hotel like this
Great place to stay the night, but don’t be outside too late because it’s sketch.
When we want to stay down close to the Forks or the Exchange district this is our absolute favourite hotel. First class all the way.
This Fairmont is old and tired and the self-parking option is an unmitigated disaster.
Hotel Showing Its Age
This hotel is really showing its age. Shower didn’t work very well in the room, the tiles in bathroom were cracked and so was the bathtub/shower (had rust all over it). Heat did not work at all and was just blowing cold air all night. This place did not hold up to the Fairmont standard/name I expected it to.
Classy place
Water is free!
No vending machine for drinks
Was a lovely hotel. Location on Portage and Main on a long weekend made walking anywhere difficult. Staff were extremely helpful
!
The staff was lovely. The bar staff were welcoming and recommended the bison burgers. Descent old fashioned. Enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful bed, very clean room. The room service was great and the staff helpful and friendly.
This hotel was okay. The area around the hotel is pretty quiet.
The staff are nice! if the facilities, specially the bathroom, are improved, the it would be great.
Valet staff are great. Most of the receptionists were friendly. Housekeeping did a fantastic job and were very very nice.
All staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Have not experienced such excellent service at a hotel for a long time. Particularly pleased with valet service who parked our car for three days! Bartender was personable and provided information about the city. Waiter Rod was super friendly.
The bell men are efficient and so friendly
Great stay!
I highly recommend staying here. The bedsheets are so comfortable, clean and all around great service. I would definitely stay again.
Absolutely beautiful and the staff incredibly professional and helpful. Loved the location, pool and sauna. Rooms gorgeous and quiet. Lots of elevators and an easy 2 minute walk to Tim Hortons coffee under the concourse without having to go outside. Food was incredible.
Over all it’s good. Just old.
Staff very helpful
A bit dated now and need of upgrade, but comfortable, good food and friendly service
Good location in downtown. Friendly staff. Clean accommodations.
