I’ve stayed at the Dupont Circle Hotel many times over the past several years as it has become my favorite hotel in Washington, DC. Its location, a five minute walk from the Dupont Circle metro station, is fantastic; its rooms are quiet, extremely comfortable, and spotlessly clean; the staff is helpful — check in and check out are fast, and its restaurant and bar are first-rate. I even now want to check out the Doyle Hotel in Dublin, based on how terrific the DuPont Circle Hotel has been!

extended my stay and was able to stay in same room, which was appreciated. I went to desk and worked all through this I though, but I still had to go back and check again so was a bit surprised this wasn't all done at once or at least to be told I'd have to come back to finish check in. No upgrade or amenity offered or mentioned

Beautiful lobby and hotel. The staff was very friendly and professional. Our room was on the small side and in need of renovation. But it was extremely clean with comfortable bed and pillows.

Stayed here for about a week for a work trip. It was such a great spot, convenient to the Metro, a doable, nice walk down to all of the monuments along the mall, a Barry's, and so many great local restaurants. The staff were so attentive and friendly. And, they gave me a great room upgrade for the VIP access and a late check-out. Definitely want to come back.

Beautiful hotel! Very clean and modern. My only issue is that I was put into a wheelchair accessible room when that’s not what I booked.

They were kind and we were able to be checked in early. Communication was easygoing and the workers were friendly. Highly recommend and will book this hotel again.

I've stayed at this hotel multiple times for work, and it's always been a pleasant experience. The staff is attentive and friendly. The bar is also really nice, a great spot to unwind after a long day. However, during my latest stay, I encountered some issues. The room was noisy due to outside sounds, and the air conditioning unit made loud, distracting noises at night. Despite these issues, I would still recommend this hotel, but I hope the management will address these concerns to improve the overall stay.

Not as special as it once felt

I have loved this property for years but last time I had broken window shades, this time I ordered a breakfast of which the main part never arrived even after being told twice it was being expedited, and I was in a room with an adjoining door and could hear my neighbours gabbing, giggling and snoring which made my sleep awful. It’s much less special than it once felt. But the location is still awesome, the bed is very comfortable, and staff are professional and friendly.

This hotel is in a great location, easily accessible to transportation yet quiet at night. No thumping nightclubs or raging bars, it’s quite sophisticated including the bar & restaurant. I walked around at night by myself and felt fine, with the usual caution I always use. Definitely will stay here again.

Sweet Spot

A lovely hotel with a great bar in a splendid neighborhood—

The bathroom smelled really bad and the smell permeated into our bedroom. We ended up having to leave early and did not get a refund for the last night that we spent elsewhere.

Great place. Have stayed several times. But did not have a “ make up mirror”. Otherwise great. Restaurant also very good.

big enough to have all the services and small enough to feel homey

I love the Dupont Circle Hotel, and this is the only place I stay while in DC. Their furniture on my latest stay was looking a little worse for wear, but I think a small spruce up will bring it back to its former glory. Maybe update the carpet and the furniture facings. But the amenities, restaurants, and room service are too notch. The street facing rooms can get a bit noisy.

Terrific hotel. All the staff extremely polite and helpful. Rooms spacious and well equipped. Very comfortable and lively bar and restaurant. Dupont Circle metro 2 min walk.

There was no room upgrade and rarely is one available. I stay here all the time.

My favorite place to stay in DC. The staff are always amazing. So friendly, professional and attentive. I did experience a few negatives this time. No room upgrade was offered and was supposed to be. I also had to ask about my Expedia VIP bar/restaurant credit. Slow on getting ice; wish I could get my own. One beside lamp didn’t work. But I will still be back! Can’t beat the high end service and location.

The Penbroke restaurant has excellent breakfast and lunch. Smoked salmon bagel was amazing. Large amount of salmon with delicious stewed marinated tomatoes

Was a last minute reservation and I was pleasantly surprised! Wonderful property - in residential area away from tourist areas and tourists. Also good in both bar and restaurant was excellent and in nice settings. Service excellent too.

Have stayed here many times, and have always had a wonderful experience. Staff is excellent, and property is clean, well appointed, and in a great neighborhood within walking distance to the metro.

Great staff 5 stars everything

My stay at this hotel was a mixed bag. Initially, I found the location frustrating due to its proximity to a busy street, which made navigating the area a challenge—I missed my turn twice! However, the valet and front desk staff provided excellent service, and I appreciated how clean and inviting the hotel was. The breakfast menu was a bit limited, but we enjoyed a late dinner after a concert, and the food was quite good—those seasoned fries were a highlight! Unfortunately, I woke up early due to sirens from firefighters across the street, which disrupted my sleep for the rest of the morning. I had hoped for some personalized touches during my stay, but that didn't happen, and I felt a bit let down by that. In summary, while the service and cleanliness were commendable, the noise and location left something to be desired. I might consider looking for a quieter hotel next time to ensure a more restful experience.

Great location with lots of options for pubs/restaurants with Georgetown not far. Hotel is generally well maintained with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bed is comfortable and executive room more spacious. Gym is ok. Looking overall at price and value, would likely stay elsewhere next time.

Extremely professional staff, from the minute you arrive, your car door is opened, you are welcomed. Jade checked me in, absolutely a delightful person. Extremely helpful as I needed a CVS, and explained where it was—— across the circle. I love that you need a key card to access the floors, rooms well appointed. Staff responds super fast. The bartenders Nia, Martine,Andres, makes great drinks. Bar food arrived quick and was delicious.

Lovely property, great location, very nice staff, excellent bar and restaurant, great vibe. But I was treated as an ‘anti-vip,’ placed in one of the ‘46 series rooms which I was told were the smallest on site and have impossibly small bathrooms. Shower water all over the floor, almost no room to use the toilet, mini sink, and a door that hit both the front door and closet doors when opened - that’s how tight the entry hall was. Unacceptable for the same price point as other rooms. Also we were not offered an upgrade until I complained after we settled into the room.

Great stay- this is the second time at this property and I would continue to come back. (I have been at a lot of properties in DC over the years and this one is among my favorites!)

I have stayed here many times and always appreciate being in DuPont circle, well located and walkable, clean comfortable & tasteful rooms, fun lively bar and lounge that overlooks the street life, and great responsive staff as Fri y desk.

We have always loved the DuPont Circle Hotel. This time the service in the Doyle bar has slipped. The front desk and housekeeping was exceptional.

Location is excellent Cleanless average, room has smaĺl issues, linen and bathrobes did not look clean changed when we got in the room. Restaurant check in and welcome staff not skilled or kind or welcoming

DC Weekend

When I travel to DC the DuPont Hotel is my go to place. Excellent staff, comfortable rooms, a wonderful bar lounge area. Great location so convenient to the Metro. Excellent Choice

Good but feeling a bit dated and rough around the edges in the room. Common areas very clean and nicely presented. Gym is basic at best.

The hotel is very comfortable, well located, and the staff was lovely. As Sabbath observers they were so helpful and accommodating.

Lovely five star hotel in the fascinating DuPont Circle area of DC. Wonderful service - cleaning or refresh twice a day (needed as the shower setup of half glass wall with a break where a short door is lets water get into the floor and toilet). Service prepares the room for night and provides ice. Very helpful desk and porter at check in who ensured our luggage got up to our room while we waited about 30 minutes for the room to be ready. Easy valet parking (pricey but well done). Comfortable bed. Stocked mini bar. Only downside is the room is best for one traveler- really set up for a business traveler. The bathroom area is in the room itself except for the shower and toilet, meaning when one person gets up at night the light and sink noise will wake up the other person. Also the bathroom glass door does not keep sounds inside.
