Most beautiful property and best bar.
Always enjoy the Driskill.
Great place to stay if you want walkability and ease to 6th Street. The lobby can get really busy in the evenings. Parking is very expensive but the system worked well being able to retrieve your vehicle via a website through text.
A few issues with the hotel. Loud annoying and constant music in the common areas and the pool. There was a 40 minute wait to get a table fro breakfast and then another 40 minutes to be served food. The mattresses are hard. The city garbage truck made giant racket at 7am on a sunday morning outside our room.
Great property in central location
Nice historic property with great bar and restaurant. The breakfast omelet was amazing
It was very welcoming waking in with beautiful Christmas decorations. All of the staff was friendly and attentive. Our corner king suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The double sinks were also a nice plus.
Beautiful hotel full of Texas history.
The hotel is beautiful! The Christmas decor added such a great feeling to the hotel. I loved everything about my stay. The staff was awesome. I usually stay at the Omni across the street but I will book The Driskill the next time I am in Austin.
C
Awesome hotel in the perfect location!
Loved everything, except parking was too expensive
Food quality disappointing. Comfortable bed.
Only downside to this place was the parking. Being in the city I feel like I rely on parking being offered as a guest but they only had paid parking which wasn’t the best personally luckily the valet personnel were on top of it and quick
Unique, beautiful hotel with old west charm
This hotel was beautiful and delightfull. The architecture is amazing. We really enjoyed our atay..
Beautiful, Historic...Haunted vibes guaranteed
Beautiful hotel, if you enjoy historic architecture and slight haunted mansion vibes. It was well maintained and very interesting. A lot of historic interest in this hotel considering it's the oldest one in TX. Super close walking distance to all of the fun stuff in downtown Austin. We walked to a show at Joe Rogan's Comedy Mothership & it was the perfect close distance. Would stay here again for accessibility to great restaurants & events. Lots of homeless wandering around outside the hotel & in the general area though - keep that in mind.
Homeless encampment across the street made going for a walk dangerous
Interesting historical property with beautiful paintings and excellent bar. However, no parking. Had to park in a public parking garage a block away. Entry in the garage was on the left side like in England which was weurd and dangerous.
Awesome job experience every time. No need to leave the hotel. Walking 6th street isn't too bad during the day.
Great location, historic venue. Quiet, relaxing and amazing staff, outstanding customer service!
Cool spot with heritage
Cool buzzy hotel in the heart of the city. Great atmosphere and great location. Wish we could have stayed longer!
The staff, bellmen, valet were very friendly and helpful. Everybody from the wait staff and bar were very professional. Rehearsal dinner place was top notch.
Nice old property, gym too small not so much for legs workout. Bathroom little dirty in the corners and the faucet knob hard to turn on and off.
Classic historical property with a friendly and helpful staff
The check in process was smooth and efficient. The in hotel dining was excellent and the service was attentive. Histoically beautiful property!
Exiting the bathroom was difficult as the doorknob was insecure. Also, the shower faucet nearly fell off in my hand.
Enjoyed stay with some issues
Hotel is a wonderful historic property which we loved. Room was amazing. Service was great. The fragrance in the lobby and hallways was very overpowering to the point of giving you a headache. Street performers and homeless were really loud (yelling) until 1:00 am. When asked, security did ask them to tone it down. Valet crew was right across the street the whole time. I potentially got food poisoning from the room service breakfast. We would probably stay again but talk to the GM about previous issues upfront.
The Driskill is the only place I like to stay for the Austin Film Festival. The staff is tremendous and always happy to help make your stay memorable. This hotel is a vintage jewel in Downtown Austin. Treat yourself to something special there.
Elegant, historic property. Even with renovations, the plumbing and elevators are a little slow for the times. But if you can live with that, this place is charming with great history and great service.
I enjoyed the historical views they had in the hotel. The beauty of the lobby was absolutely great and the bar area was beyond what I expected.
Not worth the money. Rooms are small and outdated.
Beautiful
Beautiful historical hotel. I loved the style.
Have stayed at The Driskill several time over the years and it never disappoints. The staff is AMAZING always super helpful and accommodating. We came to ATX for ACL 2024 and were able to check in early to get ready. Room was clean and comfortable. Valet parking is SO convenient the fee is comparable for the area. Breakfast at the 1886 Cafe was delicious as always. The hotel is in downtown Austin so the unhoused population is noticeable but we have never had problems and there is always a heavy police presence. 10/10 every time.
Lovely Hotel with a Friendly Staff
The Driskill is a lovely hotel full of Texas charm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the cafe and the bar as well. The location was very central and close to everything we needed.
Clean and all staff was helpful and friendly.

Grand old Texas Hotel !
Without a doubt, the most beautiful Hotel in all of Austin ! Great service, cozy Texas themed bar, and the earliest breakfast in the neighborhood. Will absolutely stay again.
Really liked this hotel.
Beautiful and historic hotel
Quick couples getaway! We chose this historic hotel in an extremely walkable and vibrant part of Austin without knowing it’s said to be haunted or in the filming of Miss Congeniality. While I saw no ghostly haunts, we enjoyed breakfast at the cafe and drinks in the evenings at the cozy bar. It was a beautiful, unique, and charming stay!
We paid almost $1000 for a two night stay for our wedding weekend to have the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had in all of our travels. We’ve stayed at places deemed less luxurious than this hotel and received way better service. The front staff (with the exception of one person during our checkout) was really bland and unwelcoming. When I walked up to the front desk to check in, they looked at me like I was bothering or inconveniencing them. They seemed annoyed to answer any of my questions. The hotel bar staff was rude and neglectful which is crazy because of how expensive their menu is. You would think you’d at least get service with a smile or maybe some manners. We waited 20 minutes at a dirty table for someone to finally notice us and walk over. The server didn’t even greet us in any way and instead asked if the dirty glasses and dishes were ours and when we said no he replied with “what do you want to drink?” And then started walking away from our table before we were even done with our order. Our food was awful. My pasta was burned and tasted old. My husbands food was cold and bland. The 1886 cafe downstairs by the lobby was also a huge disappointment. When I was ordering my drink I asked the barista a question about the menu and she literally turned her back to me while I was mid sentence without saying anything and completely ignored me and had another person take over. Don’t waste your money here. The architecture and history are the only redeeming qualities.
We loved this hotel, very elegant, lovely staff, the decor was everything you could want for an historic Texas hotel. The bar/restaurant was also great - good live music and lively atmosphere. The only complaint we had was that the pillows were too soft and not good quality and even upon request we were not able to exchange them for quality ones.
Loved the Driskill and can’t wait to stay again.
The Driskell Hotel is awesome. If you like bar hopping and live music, the location is good; however, the homeless population and high and the streets are dirty
Wonderful
The Driskill went out of their way to make everything special!
When you immerse yourself into the environment and history of this place it is amazing. When you walk each level and investigate each levels unique books and paintings you can't help but to feel the history. Whether you feel the presence of a Ghost or not it's amazing!
The old hotel is lovely. The rooms desperately need decent coffee in them. The mini bar was empty, I didn’t want anything but that is beside the point. There were stains in the walls, so not super clean. It’s an old hotel so it smells old. The bar/lobby is lovely, the food is okay, nothing special for the price but good enough. The only thing that makes it over 3 stars is the lobby/ bar.
It was great. 6th St is at the front door, and it's close to voodoo donuts. And ropollos pizza.
I will only stay at The Driskill while in Austin from now on!
Really enjoyed my stay and was pleasantly surprised by how large the room was!
Hard to get there/ park but not hotels fault I suppose
It’s a beautiful historical hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. The location is great. Valet is convenient. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Menu choices could be better at the restaurant/bar. Along with the other hotels in a relatively safe area in Austin it’s pricey but at least it’s a beautiful place with visible security
Staff and service was excellent. Good Hospitality.
The Driskill is wonderful hotel.
The hotel was awesome because it’s an old building with lots of history. They definitely need to work on their front desk services. At one point we were standing there for five minutes without the lady even acknowledging we were there. No hello, no eye contact, no smile … nothing
I stay here time after time, favorite hotel in Austin.
This is a beautiful old hotel. It was close to the retreat we were attending. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will be there again next year!
I absolutely loved my stay. The beer at check in was great, the room was clean, and I could have spent hours hanging out in the comfy bar - with great wait staff and bar tender. My favorite was roaming the mezzanine, sitting on balcony's and watching Austin around me. Beautiful establishment with unmatched finishes and history.
Most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept on. Super clean and the staff was amazing. Will definitely stay again.
We live outside of Austin and enjoy coming to stay here every few months.
Great historic hotel. Walking distance to everything downtown.
Historical Property!
Staff was super helpful.
The room layout is horrible. Door opens directly to the bed. The light around the door from the hallway lights kept the room bright all night. The noise from the hallway was minimal but loud enough to be annoying late at night.
Too many ghost hunters roaming the hallways. Proximity to 6th street makes it dirty outside and unsafe. Room accommodations were subpar for the price. Will not stay again.
Friendly Staff
Easy to check in, easy access to highlights downtown. It felt very fancy and nice.
Always perfection
Cashless property.
Loved this elegant property! It is absolutely gorgeous. Nice breakfast/dinner options.
Great place. Very much worth the trip
Nice
Excellent & beautufully preserved historical hotel. Conveniently located for downtown events.
Beautiful historical property. The care given to preservation
Close to multiple attractions
Lovely!
Great location. Very comfy room.
Fabulous historical hotel. The mezzanine is worth a visit. Portraits, letters, and art reflecting the past from 1886 on. Ladybird Johnson had her first date in the downstairs bakery with LBJ and there is a letter from her, reflecting her personal history with the hotel. Yes, it is on dirty 6th but you feel like you are a world away. The lounge has great food, drinks and comfortable seating.
Location, friendly
Great hotel, staff was very accommodating and helpful with questions and extra requests. Love the history and stories of property as well. We will be back!
Beautiful and historic
Staff was friendly and check in was easy and quick. Valet parking is pricey at $55 but the valet team did a great job at bringing your vehicle in a timely manner.
Front desk staff very professional and friendly. Sasha made great local restaurant recommendations. The history tour of the hotel given by the staff was very informative and interesting. The 1886 Cafe was delicious brunch and lattes. The bar was great for drinks and appetizers in the evening. The room was clean and beautiful. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We recommend this property and will return when visiting Austin.
Beautiful landmark
Was a great place to stay and close enough to go out and enjoy the nightlife
A beautiful historic property.
It was alright but not worth the price
The photos of the room were not accurate and we were woken up to construction at 7am. Also, valet was $60 for one night and the pricing was not posted anywhere.
This hotel is full of class and history. The lounge area is a must to see, we used it nightly!
Super fun location and comfortable!
Great service, unique bar, yummy breakfast cafe
Beautiful historical hotel. Nice staffs. Good location. Big bathroom.
Decent, not worth the price
The hotel is beautiful and stunning in the common areas and the room was fine, but had paint chipping and fairly extensive cosmetic damage, but the biggest issue for me was paper thin doors and walls that allowed me to wake up to every door opening and closing in the hall and every sound of my neighbors
Outstanding!
Very enjoyable stay at an elegant hotel.
Great staff and property
I don't get the hype. The common areas and bar were cool, but the rooms are very noisy and not super functional. Staff was all great.
Beautiful property. Great ambiance
Great customer service.
Beautiful hotel , so much attention to detail , will always stay there when in Austin TX
This hotel is a landmark and was built in 1886. They offer a free tour of the hotel which I would recommend. It's very well maintained while keeping all it's original charm. Downtown location is perfect - we did not need a car to get around the city. Staff well very helpful, courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel!!!
Not a good value. $59 for parking for less than 24 hours is ridiculous for a $400 hotel stay.

Cool antique. Hated size of room and old tv. No apps on tv like netflix. Too small for price.
