Outstanding.

Located in such a great spot! Close to the Marine Parade, shopping, and restaurants. Accommodations were comfortable and had great communication.

Our room was spaciuos and comfortable. The locatiom was excellent, on the doorstop to shops, restaurants, the art deco trust and the sea front. Hiwever it was very stressful checking in. We had not completed this online (i received instructions how only 10 minutes beforehand). There was no help on where to park, which rules are quite confusing. The rooms are not serviced unless you can pay $50 a day extra. On the plus side, there is a laundry where you can dry wet tiwels. There is also an outside seating area.

Greeted with a lengthy text message with instructions on how to gain entry to the hotel room. Not onsite parking - additional charge of $20 a day that was half a kilometer away from the hotel. Booked a 3 night stay and wondered if our beds would be made each morning and clean towels/ milk etc only to find out that was an additional $50 charge for this basic customer service. Bit disappointed TBH. Never saw one staff memeber for 4 days.

Luxury, convenience, breath taking views.

10/10 Stayed in Pacific Room 2. A stunning apartment with ocean views. The separate bedroom is larger than most hotel rooms. A small but functional kitchen if you want to have home-made meals, but the apartment is also located just minutes away from multiple excellent restaurants and cafes. Also very close to the main retail shopping area. One of the best stays I have had on my travels in New Zealand. Highly recommended.

Loved the character and style of the building and its view. Wanted the kitchenette for breakfast and found out later that this was not in the room but a few doors away. It was manageable but a little challenging at times.

A very unique and large apartment which was a great place when a few minor issues were sorted out by the owner/manager

Staying at The Dome Is a unique experience. It’s not a hotel but more like an art deco apartment, ample space, well equipped kitchen and wonderfully clean. Things to note, there’s no parking so you need to park along the street which is $1 an hour for max 2 hours so affordable, there’s room service or housekeeping and no swimming pool and beach is not really swimmable so kids maybe a bit disappointed. However, location with many restaurant options and views are great.

Stunning Art Deco building sympathetically restored. Very large bedroom with access to kitchen and laundry facilities. Large outside seating space with sofas. Located on Marine Parade excellent location for Napier’s New Year events.

A good base to explore tge Hawkes Bay.

We stayed in the penthouse suite, and it was just beautiful. Wish we had more time! The beds were super comfy and the ability to control the temp in each room was also appreciated. Would definitely recommend and stay again

Very spacious, clean & warm with 2 air-con units. First entry was a challenge but very okay afterwards. Parking...hmm I parked on street & it was... hmm okay.

Absolutely loved it. The terrace was a real bonus. So close to all shopping including takeaway means, including Lone Star downstairs. Will be back!

The Dome was very close to the centre of Napier, with great amenites. Very clean, and staff member willing to help.

Love the place. Parking wasnt offered but plenty of parks on the road. Only grizzle is rubbish bin wasn't emptied so we could see what the last guest was up to an what they drank etc. Bloody hard to find a fault really

Rooms are not serviced daily. No towel srvice. No daly coffee replacement. Mold in closet. Not upscale service as advertised. But great location.

Being across the road from the soundshell was amazing. Restaurants and cafes close by and we could walk everywhere. Check in was a bit tricky as we werent sure where the door was to get in or if we were in the right place. Also parking is down the road but that wasnt a problem to us.

Beautiful apartment, clean, tidy, excellent roof top area, friendly staff, close to shops and restaurants.

Beautiful Art Deco building. Large apartment with ocean view from bedroom. Great location. Walkable to many restaurants & bars and across the street from ocean. Within 20 minutes to many wineries.

Location was excellent. Disappointed that we couldn't park our car at the hotel and that we needed to go elsewhere for all of our meals.

Do your research

The positives of this accommodation are the location (in the centre of beautiful art deco Napier and close to everything: Marine Parade; the ocean; the black pebble beach; the Sound Shell; i-Site Visitor Centre; aquarium; restaurants; shopping); the view (assuming you have an ocean view apartment); and the comfy bed. I suggest checking The Dome's dedicated website before returning to Hotels.com to book. Not all information is correct on Hotels.com - a matter I raised with The Dome proprietors and which they have advised will be rectified. Pacific View Studio 1 did not have black out drapes as stated, allowing for the room to be fairly light during the night. Traffic noise from Marine Parade was quite loud – especially the early morning garbage trucks. Note that the rooms are only serviced on request, and at an additional cost. Also note that there are (quite substantial) call out fees if you arrive outside of the limited check-in times, and if you cancel your booking. I think this accommodation would be more enjoyable for two or more people. Travelling on my own, and not seeing anyone else in the accommodation during my stay, felt rather isolating.

Great central location with magnificent view over Hawke's Bay which does unfortunately come with a bit of noise from traffic below the window. Minor issue with bedside lighting. Kathy was very helpful and accommodating. The muesli and the complimentary bottle of wine were much appreciated!

Beautiful Art Deco building in heart of Napier. The rooms are modern, sparkling clean and comfortable. We look forward to coming back!

Great relaxing stay at The Dome!

Excellent accommodation. Manager was very helpful in providing facilities for us to leave our luggage for the day. There was a bottle of wine to welcome us in the room. The room was very spacious and the communal kitchen was well equipped. We would definitely go back there

Great location, beautiful apartment

Charming old but nicely refurbished building in the heart of Napier. Within walking distance to good restaurants and shopping. Across the street from Hawke’s Bay. We rented bikes and road along the South Pacific, played golf at a local championship course reasonably priced, went to wine country. We loved our stay at the Dome. It’s not a hotel, but has a pool, hot tub, laundry and all needed amenities. We’d go back in a heartbeat! We met the owner, very friendly and accommodating!
