Great neighborhood
It was a little unclear where to check in as it was across the street in a hotel by another name. However, the service was excellent and the room was very nice. Highly recommend the breakfast.
Worst experience hotel London
The hotel Devonshire doesn’t even exist !! We turned up at the property and we had to check in to a hotel opposite . I asked for a vat receipt and I was told they can’t supply it ?? I asked to speak to a duty manager but the receptionist was very rude highlighting he has work there for 4 years and he was in charge !! I never stayed in a hotel where receipt was not supplied and following the attitude I received I wouldn’t certainly recommend the hotel to anyone .. poor service and certainly I would not give the hotel even 3 start
The portion of the property in which we stayed was inconvenient to access the room. Elevator was unavailable to our room. The only access was by means of a very narrow and steep staircase. The bathroom facilities were too small for convenience use in our room. The next time in London will look elsewhere for accommodations.
Lights didn't work properly in the room, and to sleep in darkness I had to remove my room card from the slot.
For the money it was great. I will stay there again.
Average offer & disappointing experience
Not the best experience, arrived at The Devonshire which is just 2 closed doors which you need a keycard to enter. No clue as to how to get into the building - directly opposite over the road is the the Park Grand Paddington Court hotel so popped in there and realised it was part of the same place but then told we'd been moved to Park Grand London Hyde Park - I received no communication about this before this. We went across to the other hotel and whilst it looks lovely from the outside and in reception, the corridors and the room are very dated and could do with an upgrade. Our shower had a wet & dirty towel in so I went down to reception and the manager came up to remove the towel and said the cleaner had forgotten to take it away after using it for a shower leak - wasn't convinced and we weren't offered an alternative room. Breakfast was provided complimentary after they moved our booking to a different hotel which was a nice gesture - food was good however the room where it is served is far too small and tables all on top of each other, a little uncomfortable
Convenient location,
Great stay. Friendly staff. Only downside there was a used towel left in the room.
The heater functioning well makes us feel warm and comfortable during winter
Clean and comfortable, great location
Nice hotel, very well located. Rooms are modern and clean. Check in is at the larger hotel opposite.
Pre holiday stay in cosy room
Couple of nights stay before flying off on holiday. We stayed in room 556 which is in the basement. Lift down which was handy with luggage. Very quiet room so had a great sleep. Comfortable bed, good shower and good in room facilities. Smallish room but benefitted from a small entrance lobby which was handy for storing our cases so we could make the most of the space available. Check in and out was easy across the road at the Park Grand. Great location with a decent selection of pubs and restaurants in the area.
Anniversary Trip
Room was very small, for a 4 night stay, however, it was clean, the shower main head was not working and flooded the bathroom, also would not shut off properly, and the toilet was too close to the wall which meant you had to sit sideways. Our room was outside the cleaners cupboard and during the day always hearing the door slam and conversation in a small corridor. This is the 3rd experience of tight hotels in London at very high rates, we decided we would go to Premier Inn or Travel Lodge for future travel, due to you know what you get with guarantees. The digital hob mobile was very helpful using google maps which you can take with you on your day out
Nice hotel close to the train station
Needed a 1 night stay close to the train station to get to the airport in the morning. This fit the bill. Not sure I would stay here otherwise, but it was a nice area and the room was pretty good.
The room itself was great but there was a massive air conditioning unit outside my room and it kept turning on and off all night. This kept we awake all night. Despite my complaints they said there was nothing they could do as they said the hotel was full so they couldn't move me and they said that it was not possible to turn the unit off. So I didn't sleep.
We arrived around 8pm and the main door was closed as the reception was unmanned. However we were able to get checked in across the road. The room was beautifully renovated and decorated, especially the bathroom which had a luxurious feel. Little touches like the complimentary refreshments were a bonus. Definitely recommend this place.
Overall good hotel, the room was a little small, but that was the only issue
Beat up room
We travel and stay at least 40 hotels a year and this was the worst. The room was really small even by European standards but really beat up. Wallpaper pealing and ALL furniture with nicks. Bathroom grouting coming out. Carpeting not vacuumed. One of the worst!
Very Very Small Room
Although the standard is high for this hotel our room was very snug to same the least. If you are at all claustrophobic this is not the place for you.
Great locationk comfortable hotel
The location was ideal to Paddington station, allowing easy access to Heathrow and the Tube. Close to Nottinghill, Hyde Park and Oxford Street's shopping district. Rooms were clean but very very small. I would not calli t a "suite". However, having the conveniences of a fridge and microwave were worth it. Also, the shower was great and the bed was comfy. Service was average - the staff did not seem overly happy with the their jobs. We did not take meals there so cannot comment on the restaurant, nor did we use the gym.
Close to Paddington Station.
Hotel staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was very good. Location was 10 minute walk from Paddington Station in a good area.
