Nice clean rooms nice and easy self check on great place to stay.

Good cheap place to stay, only drawbacks was the quality of the shower and size of the TV, but for the price, it was a bargain and very clean.

Beautiful Victorian hotel, excellent location, fantastic hosts & delicious breakfasts!

Property is tired and old. Bathroom and, in particular shower, was too tiny to function. Room was not particularly clean (e.g., bottom of bed). Bed was uncomfortable and pillows like rocks. It is really an old fashioned boarding house, not a hotel at all.

A very pleasant stay

Everything was spot on. Location: ideal - close to prom, ferry terminal and town centre. Staff: very friendly. Breakfast: superb with plenty of choice. Comfort & cleanliness: excellent. Will definitely stay again on my next trip to the Isle of Man.

The owners and staff were lovely. The breakfast was well prepared and ond good quality. Was offered food bags for very early check out which is a lovely touch.

Good....for a couple of nights

Greeted by Kevin....nice guy and very friendly. Our room was right at the top of building - lots of stairs! Small, but very clean and everything worked fine. Our only minor grumble was that the mattress was very firm and we are used to the opposite so we didn't sleep too well. Location was great - short walk into town. Parking was ok - free on street with disc Kevin gave us. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Like I said - ok for a couple of night s for us - we would have to move on to find a softer bed!

Overpriced for such a small room. Shower and washing facilities below par. Tired decor.

Excellent small hotel .Clean and obviously decorated fairly recently . Kevin and his crew are friendly and very efficient . Everything seems to have been thought of and is to hand. An extensive breakfast menu beside the full English .

Clean, warm and cosy

Faultless

Very warm and friendly welcome from manager Kevin, who made a lot of effort to make sure that everything went well during my stay. Very clean, comfortable room, good bed and bedding. Absolutely lovely breakfast of tomato mushroom and egg on ciabatta. Rooms have all the basics including small tea making facilities. Not luxury - the electric shower is adequate although I imagine it would not be easy to install a power shower in an older building like this. The whole house is nicely decorated with wallpaper rather than painted and feels personalised. I'd definitely stay there again

There was nothing I didn't like, room was lovely and warm. Christmas decorations were delightful. Hosts were receptive and pleasant.

Kevin and the team had done up the house in the spirit of Christmas with a tree and all the trimmings. The room was comfortable and had a restful night after a long journey. There had been a mistake in the booking with me thinking I was on a B&B arrangement. Kevin's wife in the spirit of Thanksgiving offered me a complimentary breakfast for the week. I made a donation to a local Manx charity. Will stay there again in the future.

Wonderful

Just returned from a lovely three day break on the island. We were very fortunate to stay at the Devonian, where nothing is too much trouble for the hosts. Spotlessly clean rooms, delicious breakfasts with lots of choice, and very friendly staff. The location is perfect, and we will definitely return. Thank you for making our stay so special.

Greta base for short stay

Brilliant great breakfast and really friendly

Friendly staff and easy check-in and check-out. Room was small but comfortable, bright and clean. Bathroom was clean and nicely decorated. NOTE: The Devonian wouldn't be suitable for anybody with mobility issues as you have to climb steps to get to the front door, and as far as I'm aware there isn't a lift.

So helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely friendly welcome and staff. Amazing breakfasts. Quite central. We were in Room 4 on the first floor. I had disturbed sleep due to a soil pipe leading from the upper floors which went through the corner of the room. This resulted in noise from water rushing down the pipe.

Welcoming, clean,comfortable, lovely staff and varied menu for breakfast,plenty of good food.

Lovely B&b

Amazing hotel, very welcoming. We arrived a day late due to ferries being cancelled due to bad weather, but nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were lovely, ample & filling. Would highly recommend this b&b. Would stay here again.

Good Value

I saw some reviews complaining about the size of the rooms etc. I would say they were small, but they were clean and en suite. I defy anyone to find an en suite at this price. Again, people complained about the breakfast. I found it excellent for the price. Could I have found better elsewhere? Yes, probably, but I would have been paying a whole lot more. Staff were nothing but courteous to us throughout our stay. Just remember this is a B&B not a hotel, so there’s no bar for a night cap (but plenty near by) and you’ll have to climb plenty of stairs to get to your room. But at these prices I wouldn’t complain at all.

Fabulous breakfast, lots of choice

Lovely greeting on arrival. Room was spotlessly clean. Good location for sea front, electric railway, bars, cafes, sea terminal etc. Beautiful stay.

Had a great 3 night stay here . From the minute we checked in we were given a warm and friendly welcome . Room was clean and tidy . Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice .

Excellent B&B

Stay 4-nights and found the accommodation clean, comfortable and well run. Breakfast was a delight; excellent choice menu together with juice cereals etc (spoilt for choice). Had an early morning ferry on the last day and missed breakfast. However, the B&B provided us with 'a goody food bag' which was a nice touch. Would stay here again when visiting the IOM. 15 mins from the ferry terminal.

2 night stay in IOM

Lovely place to stay , staff where very helpful and chatty . Location is fantastic just off the main prom perfect to get to trains , buses , trams etc . Breakfast also very good and sets you up for the day

Extremely comfortable beautiful Victorian B&B just off the strand. Breakfast was extremely good. Owners and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Gem of a place.

Solo trip - I did not see anyone at check in due to my time of arrival & the owners being out so Gillian left me the code & Key to my room. Room was a good size for a single bed room. No view, view was of a wall of next doors building but as I was out all day this didn't matter. Room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Very good choice & they are very accommodating. Briefly spoke to Kevin(?) as I was coming back from a day out & he was very friendly & nice to chat to. There is a lovely Indian next door called Flavours which is well worth a visit. A bit more up market than your regular Indian. Would definitely stay here again. Lovely place, lovely owners.

Great Breakfast and value for money.

Great little place. Friendly staff and a banging breakfast. Stayed for two nights with a friend. Tea and coffee facilities in our room went down well as we were so cold from our walks and the weather was cold and windy a cuppa tea in bed was wonderful! Plus the shower was lovely and hot. As they were quite and knew we were out walking in the cold all day instead of checking out at 10am he said we could keep the room till we needed to head back to the airport which was wonderful as it was soooooo cold!

Perfect place for work or pleasure visit, friendly and helpful staff. Room was quiet and comfortable. Ideal for a single traveller.

Best breakfast on the Island

I would recommend the Devonian to stay it is very clean you will not get a better breakfast on the island with numerous choices. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed also Kevin was very informative as to what to do with our time. I can find no fault with the B&B and it is good value for money. If I return, then I would definitely stay there again

Lovely, clean, friendly

A lovely stay in a spotlessly clean guest house. Lovely choice and quality for breakfasts with the indefatigable staff. Only comment would be to warn folk before booking that if on top floor it is 61 steps and no lift!

Breakfast is a must!

Breakfast is amazing! Excellent choice and delicious. Clean and tidy room, but shower not very powerful and it took ages to warm up.

Very friendly hotel - at least 17 rooms - which felt like a homely B&B. Breakfasts wide ranging and genial fast service. Comfortable room. Very close to the sea front.

Very nice clean and confortable

Our stay at the Devonian was exceptional, from check in with Kevin who was so informative and kept us right as this was our first time on the Island. The Guest house was immaculate, our room was brilliant and catered for myself and our two children. Gillian and her team could not do enough for us during our stay. We booked bed and breakfast and the food was exceptional, if you went hungry it definitely was your own fault!!! I highly recommend the Devonian as it definitely made our holiday…will most definitely be back!!

Devonian Hotel - a good Bed and Breakfast hotel

A pleasant small bed & breakfast hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room good though a small chest of drawers to put cloths in would have been good - there was only a small bed side chest and a wardrobe to hang stuff in. Shower and toilet room was perfectly adequate. The hotel is up a small but steep hill from the seafront

Hotel was just what we wanted. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of food. The room was on the small side but perfectly adequate for our needs. Both the room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. The only drawback is there is no lift and the stairs are a climb if you are on one of the top floors. We would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel and conveniently located

Hotel conveniently located between centre of town and electric tram station. Plenty of choice for breakfast and its well cooked.

Property is a charming vintage hotel. Location is convenient. Room was large and comfortable. However, access to all rooms requires navigating long, narrow staircases. Not suitable if you have large luggage or have physical limitations.

Staff was great very kind and helpful. Gave us restaurant recommendations that were helpful and delicious.

Great value for money! Wonderful and helpful staff. Close to buses, seaside and town. Very clean, comfortable bed, mini fridge in room and lovely atmosphere all around. The only drawbacks were the room was a bit hot and water took a while to heat up but when it did, it was fine. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Amazing stay here. The location is perfect; the owner is really kind and helpful, greeted me when I checked in and he had a chat with me about going around; and the room is cozy and neat. Really value for money!

Warm and friendly, great value

Great value for money. Cold weather, room always warm. Very good breakfast, very friendly staff. Room 2 has a very small bathroom, fine for me but a larger person might struggle. Excellent location, buses nearby. Older property so no lift if required for health reasons. Would stay again without hesitation.

Clean tidy hotel. Owner very helpful. Close to all amenities. Did us special take aeay brekkie cos ferry leavin early.

Everything you expect from a hotel like this

Not the flashiest hotel - small TV, old fashioned kettle - but for a good, affordable hotel with a big comfy bed and privacy, as we as friendly staff, this did everything I wanted it to. If I want a quiet escape, I would gladly go back.

You couldn't ask for better looking after. A small mix up with bookings and room allocations was more than adequately rectified and the helpfulness was outstanding. A warm and welcoming place in the heart of Douglas run by a lovely and extremely hard working couple. Brilliant breakfasts.

Excellent value guest house near the Promenade

Very helpful and caring staff

Spacious room, including the en suite bathroom. All the usual amenities and everything was absolutely spotless. Hand sanitisers provided in communal areas. Very nicely decorated throughout; the dining room was particularly impressive. No evening meals or bar, but the breakfasts were so good I only needed a small snack in the evening anyway! No on site parking, but spaces directly across the road for at least 3 motorcycles. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, they really made my stay very enjoyable. I would certainly stay here again if I was able to have another holiday on the Isle.

The Devonian is a little undiscovered sea gem - traditional bed and breakfast located 100 yards from the Douglas promonade - Kevin and Gillian proprieters operate this wonderful establishment - I.was there for 4 days 3 nights single room enjoy suite - centrally located to just about anywhere you want to go - I will stay there again - Marie

The Devonian was a lovely little spot. Kevin was very helpful with tips for making the most of my short time on the island. Breakfast included with my stay was huge! Even when I ordered just eggs and toast. The location was great, and I can't wait to go back with the road work is done so I can take full advantage of the prom!

The hotel is exceptionally good value for money. Very very clean, bed comfortable in a tasteful decorated room. Breakfast delicious, owners delightful and very helpful as are the staff. I will be staying here agsin in the future

Wow - what a breakfast!

You will have to go a long way to beat the breakfasts on offer here. Never had such a choice and quality was excellent. Kevin was full of information and very helpful so you could get the most from your stay.
