Perfectly located within walking distance from restaurants and shopping. Room service staff were very helpful. Our check-in could have been better handled. We arrived at 1.45 and had to wait as rooms were not ready. Reception staff were flustered and not helpful. It took us almost an hour after we arrived to get our rooms. Except for reception staff at the time everything about this hotel is excellent.
It was clean. Staff was friendly.
Outdated, worn, rundown and poorly maintained.
Paint in my room chipped, bathroom furniture flaked paint (was rectified), tiny ant invasion in bathroom. Table stained and worn, paint extremely worn. Floors look stained but are chipped. Staircases lots of steps chipped. Cleaning mediocre, nothing cleaned behind doors. Room is quite noisy as door has several gaps around. And the acoustics in the central hall leaves a lot to be desired. Noting, except the price, indicated a 5 star hotel.
The hotel is located right in the heart of Panjim. Many areas around are walkable. Old Goa and Miramar beach are a short cab ride away. The hotel staff was great.
Good location, nice hotel, not 5-star though
My room was big and comfortable, with a mini-fridge. The staff was helpful. It's listed as a 5-star hotel, but in reality it could be viewed as a truly excellent 3-star or a so-so 4-star. The breakfast only had a few selections, but several of them changed every day, which is a good thing when you stay several days. My room was on the top floor, and there must be a metal roof, because it rained on my last day and it was so loud in the room I couldn't think. I also fault the hotel for turning up on the hotels.com website under the filter "Includes airport shuttle", which turned out to be false (although other hotels had shuttles waiting at the airport when I arrived).
everything about the property was good. great location and walking distance to the main post office bus stand but the internet was horrible, it was too slow in the evening , we were on the 4th floor and my son had to work at night as we were from US , he could not work in the room, very very very slow internet. it was ok on the main floor but noisy and the internet room was not open since covid. he had to book another hotel to save his job and it cost him extra 1000 dollars. the customer service said their IT guy will have everything ready before we are there but he did not do anything to fix the problem as problem was with the speed of the internet .if you are for vacation only best place to stay but if IT person trying to work at night , it is not for you unless they have high speed internet.
Great stay
Great central property - great service - rooms clean and comfortable - bath room needs to be updated - highly recommend.
The staff was very helpful. The location is perfect. Sunny at the reception was a gem. We arrived early and he found a room for us. Also, helped us with any questions. The fact that there is a travel desk in the hotel was very useful for booking taxis and day trips. The breakfasts are delicious. Really enjoyed our stay.
Definitely not worth the money. You can get much nicer and newer places for the same amount. Concierge desk is not very helpful. Also it has no relation to the Crown hotel group. Just a copy of their name.
Good times Goa
Fantastic hotel clean very eco friendly great chef who will cater to your needs day or night prime location on the border of the south Goa
Great hotel restaurant
Great location. Hotel restaurant particularly good. I normally prefer to source local cheaper food outside my hotels but this hotels restaurant, food, service and especially open air location was so good we ate there both nights. Swimming pool and bar was very inviting
Pathetic service
Services were pathetic. The people serving were not motivated to work. I found red ants in the room and no one cared. They were all over my coffee cups. I requested for cutlery through room service and I didn't get those.
location of property was very good though approach road /stairs were not good
Great service oriented.
Perfect Perfect location
Perfect location and amazing hospitality and food.Highly recommended.
Good hotel to stay in Panjim
Was overall a good place to stay , service was good , rooms a little dated , very good location I would surely rate a 4 star
Room was spacious with external and surrounding natural views
We liked the electronic Do Not Disturb and Clean My Room signs. The size of the rooms were very good. We were very disappointed with the service in the restaurant. No one came to take our order unless we drew their attention and then it would take one to two hours to be served.
Did not give me the room even 1 minute before checking time but enquired thrice in 1 day about our time of check out!
Great location
Excellent Helpful check in staff, went the extra mile when we had to check in a day early. Room upgrade was most welcome too
good location, excellent staff well equiped gym ,good size pool excellent chef and the reception staff..The first impresion (hotel entrence from the car park) was very dispionting - looks like some cheap hotel-but once inside the hotel things were excellent. We enjoyed our stay -hope to be back soon.We wish to thank all the staff.
I expected more
The hotel is pretty, nicely located on a hill in the middle of the city. It is also noisy. Between the whistles of the traffic wardens, the construction behind the building, the church bells at odd hours at night and the events in the echoey atrium, it is hard to truly enjoy the hotel. The gaps around the room door doesn’t help at all. The staff is not unfriendly but also not overly accommodating. Breakfast is great though and the onsite restaurant eliminates a reason to walk through a dirty town for food.
City Break Panjim
Lovely hotel on the fringe of the city and close to the old quater known as the Fontana’s anger very hot in the afternoon so the hotel is a welcomed refuge. Some very nice restaurants trip advisor is quite reliable for the selection to choose from black sheep and des hue were our choices
a good place to stay in the heart of Panjim
the hotel was amazing , a bit noisy though but they have this obsession of constantly cleaning and sometimes it was not as quiet as you wished for. Guests in the hotel also seemed to be shouting instead of gently speaking from one floor to another as it is open space. may be signs to ask Guests to be quiet would be good.
Crown of Panjim
We travelled as a family through India and were made to feel welcome by the hotel staff and also received a room upgrade to give us more space, along with some local wine and cake, which added a nice touch. Breakfast had a good selection of Local and western dishes and hotel security was good. The hotel was difficult to find at first, but our taxi driver managed it by using GPS (perhaps basic instructions of how to find the hotel could be included with the booking confirmation). The hotel location is away from the main road and therefore it’s quiet, but it’s within short walking distance to the beautiful church of Mary of Immaculate conception and also the other sights in Panjim and we felt safe exploring the city by walking. The hotel has fantastic views of the river and has a great pool with sun beds and towels, where we were able to cool down from the heat. Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Crown for the enjoyable stay!
The Hotel is never a 5 Star hotel. Just having a swimming pool does not make a top hotel.
Great
Good
Amazing hotel with great service. Location is good with many good restaurant in nearby except that calangutes and baga beaches r a bit far.
Excellent!
Excellent location with beautiful views of the Mandovi River. Comfortable, spacious room. Great breakfast with a variety of eastern and western food. Staff were helpful and prompt. The service and friendliness from staff staff in the dining rooms was excellent. Rahin from the Travel desk was very helpful with making arrangement with tours. Would definitely stay here again if i go back to Goa.
Great hotel if looking for some downtime
The Hotel was very nice and our room was spacious comfortable and clean.. The breakfast was good as were all the meals. Prices were also good at the hotel. We enjoyed happy hour each day with two for one drinks. The hotel has lovely grounds and very nice views of the river. There is a casino on the first floor however it was closed as we were staying there between seasons. On a whole its a great hotel in a very nice location. The downside was the area. We had travelled quite a bit in India before arriving and we found the local area a little lacking . We did try the tourist desk and we also spoke with other guests. We did not find a lot to see. Also the other problem we had was the wifi which worked perfectly on the weekend when the hotel was quite busy. However once a lot of the guests left so did the wifi. Seemed very strange. The wifi was always available in the lounge and sitting areas just not in your room. This hotel is perfect if you are seeking some down time and just need to relax and the staff are very helpful.
Awesome...loved the stay and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The hotel is on top of a hill overlooking the city which was lovely. Live music every night. We were given a free upgrade and the room was spacious. My daughter loved the swimming pool. It was peaceful when we were there. Staff were friendly and attentive. Only complaint was the slow service in the restaurant.
Highly recommended
Comfortable room. Beautiful hotel with stunning views. Breakfast variety was good. Location is perfect to city. Staff were exceptional. Made us feel welcome. Ensured that all our needs were met, we felt at home. Entertainment in the evenings was wonderful. Absolute Service with a smile from Management and Staff. Thank you.
Best hotel even
Fantastic service, fantastic food,my wife was not feeling well and the managers sent up food& flowers, they are on the ball ,best place I have stayed in onour trip to india highly recommended, I work in a 5 star hotel in perth the service here is just as good, plus they upgraded us to a room with great views of the river.
Decent hotel in Panjim, city center of Goa
The Crown is not a luxury hotel, but it has everything you need if you want to stay downtown. It has lovely views of the city and the river. Rooms are not beautiful, but comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet has a good variety of Indian and Western foods, well prepared. The restaurant, which is open 24 hours, is in general excellent. There is a swimming pool — not huge, but still refreshing. The fitness center is decently equipped. Very good value for money.
Great stay @ The Crown Goa..!
The staff were very helpful and showed great customer service and care. Service was great and all the staff meet us with a smile. They even sent me a 50th birthday cake to my room and upgraded my room, which I felt a great gesture. We were met and greeted with a welcome drink. A special thank you to Pooja, Daisy and Rohan at Reception.. you guys were really great.. had a great laugh with all the staff..! I will definitely recommend this hotel, and whenever I come to Goa, I will stay at The Crown.!
Central hotel
Very central hotel. The hotel is more beautiful inside than when you first arrive and have to climb/walk up the hilly drive way. Good views from hotel of Panjim area. Many hotel guests were noisy and this dampened our experience. I really didn't want to hear loud conversations of other guests when I was in bed.
Location is beautiful
Manager Bobby was excellent in helping us with tourist and local Goa information. Loved the location and loved the historical old Goa building . There is a lot of history related to the current location and the surrounding areas, Goa has beautiful beaches but longer than the hippy beach culture there is Original Goa history. This hotel encapsulates that in building and feeling. Staff very friendly, had a few minor hiccups but life is not perfect. .perfection leads to negative issues in your own mind. Like India as a whole the experience opens your mind and your own approach to life. The hotel offered us a room upgrade. View front the hotel of the Mandovi river was excellent. New Years eve party and buffet was great Morning Buffet breakfast had a lot of choice and was good. This hotel would suit clientelle that are easy going and that are after both beach and history. Shops and other conviences are close by or a taxi ride away.
Nice hotel close to the shopping market and local
The hotel threw in a half day sight seeing tour for us which added to the experience. The food at the hotel restaurants was good.
Buffet breakfast choices for a non-Indian were very limited. Need improvement. Staff very friendly and helpful.
hotel with a view
The hotel is on a small hill, so it has a nice view of the river. It is beautiful at night. It has an in-house casino, so I guess it is good for those who are interested in it. The location is great, close to the church, the latin quarter, the cruise boas, and the main shopping/restaurant area. However, the room is a bit dated, and does need some refurbishment. The swimming pool was under 'renovation' at the time. However, they did not tell us when we booked the room. But they did offered to take us to another place with a swimming pool if we did want to swim The gym was good though.
The Crown Goa
We stayed four days and three nights. Staff were helpful. The view from the hotel reception was great. The room was big with a sitting area. Amenities were adequate. Breakfast was slightly limited in choice of food. Access to the hotel was through a hilly narrow road and my taxi driver from the airport found it difficult to locate the hotel.
Lovely weekend gateway
arrived early in the morning. Had a really good breakfast, the check-in time was 2:00 pm, and we were already there by 8:30 am. The hotel accommodated us with a very nice room (they gave us an upgrade from to a much bigger and airy room) by 11:00 pm. that's almost 3 hours before the check-in time, at no extra cost. The room service, the harbour cafe, the people at the reception, everyone is so friendly and helpful that we felt a little pampered. the food is great too. the spread on the breakfast & dinner buffett is vast and their a-la-carte choices are good too. surprising the prices are modest too (compared to the small vegetarian restaurant, "Ruchi" located closer to the Panjim bus stand, we had visited for lunch). more so, considering me and my daughter had food poisoning before we departed from bangalore. the hotel accommodated all our requests (food, stay, search for medical necessities) with a smile. all in all, a very nice place to stay with family. thanks for making our stay wonderful.
Overall a pleasant stay.
Reception Service was very poor and slow. Answers to queries were promised by ringing the room but never received a phone call and this happened everyday. Location is poor i.e. up a hill which is poorly lit at night and dangerous to climb and descend on a night. However, the complex was clean and friendly and the buffet breakfast is recommended. Overall a pleasant stay.
Amazing hotel
Excellent place to stay in the heart of the city. All amenities in walking distance, restaurants etc. Very friendly and helpful staff and lovely place to come back to after busy daytime activities. Views from the bar/swimming pool and reception area were amazing, overlooking the river.
Not a five star hotel
The views from the terrace and river facing rooms are stunning - the best in Panjim, and the location is convenient for the centre of town. The Crown has its own particular charm, but if you are expecting a five star hotel you will be disappointed. The rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment, the area around the pool has broken plastic grates which have gone green, the staff are generally helpful but some are very challenged to speak English, and the chefs have difficulty producing poached eggs or pancakes. The barman was unable to make a simple cocktail, but to his credit he did try go on line and try and get a recipe, so full marks for ingenuity!
India 2016
after a long rail tour of 24 days from Kolkata to Goa the hotel was just right for 2 days just chilling before flying home.
Beautiful View and Big Rooms.
Overall we had a good experience. Rooms are clean and pleasant and rooms in floor 1 have some good balconies. Breakfast served in the hotel is good and they have different varities.
This hotel has great location in heart of Panaji city. Views from hotel are excellent. Though few things are rigid and disappointing, like they provide only two half litre water bottles per day. Pick and drop facilities was there in our package but we got none. They also need to improve the services and range at morning breakfast.
Not what I expected
Hotel was a disappointment as we expected a lot more. It is in disrepair and needs a lot of work done on it in order to meet the expectations of a traveler such as myself. The garbage just outside the entry to the hotel was shocking to say the least. if these issues could be fixed it would be a lovely place to spend your holiday in Goa.
Great Location, adequate condition
Great location but just adequate cleanliness. Friendly staff and good food. Price is high for the value provided.
Great views of Panjim and Mandovi River
Great little boutique hotel. Very comfortable rooms. Food service can test your patience
Good value for money, centrally located.
Hotel in great location. Staff very friendly and efficient. Bathrooms need renovating.
i love crown.
great..@resonable rate.
Good experience
Good food, nice service, reasonable rates, friendly staff.
Hotel centrally located in Panjim. River views.
Wonderful boutique hotel. Central location and beautiful river views. Our room had a nice balcony. Spacious and clean room. Beautiful tiling on floor, hallways and lobby. Family friendly.
Good hotel great for sightseeing.
We are two elderly people and travelled from Majorda. Had a lovely 3 day stay, staff and food excellent.
pleasant stay,room key faulty
Pleasant stay overall, except that the room key got deactivated often and we had to revert back to reception for activation.
Great hotel at a Great Price
Very unimpressive entrance into to hotel but when elevator doors opened at the first floor it revealed the hotel in all its splendour. Few signs of age in rooms but overall great value. Very friendly staff & manager who mingled with guests.
Excellent
I wish to return as soon as finances permit. The staff was at your service 24 hours. The casino is good and here too the staff gives 100% satisfaction, where others fail.
Luka
If your trip is to Goa this is the place to stay. Great staff, menu and amenities. Located in old Goa. 5 minute walk to town, great shopping. Very clean and great staff.
Pleasant hotel, close to attractions of Panjim.
We were immediately upgraded to a river view, superior room which was large and airy. Lovely views of river over a renovation project. Staff excellent. Breakfast okay. Mini bar in room had limited choice.
Satisfactory Stay
WE went to Goa to celebrate my son's birthday and after display the inability by Heritage café staff, the reception made immediate arrangement for the cake in the nick of hour and made our day. Would like to visit again provided some attractive packages are available(in a lighter vein ). Overall the stay was comfortable.
Quality hotel with good views on wide river
Nothing special to say except for the view and sun umbrellas that are missing or in bad shape.
Good place to stay
Our stay was quite comfortable.Except food everything was good
We stayed 5 nights at this hotel , good location , service , cleanliness , it felt like home away from home. We will definitely go back.
Good
Cleaning part was not best which should be improved and quality of food was standard,.
Wonderful place to stay
I would recommend The Crown Goa to anyone visiting Goa! The rooms are very nice and the staff makes your wants and needs priority! They even volunteered to pack us a lunch on the day we left because they knew we would be riding the train all day.
Great Hotel and Location for Goa
This is a great hotel with nice surprise amenities. The staff was courteous and thoughtful, breakfast buffet was nice. However, the driving skills of the driver for the hotel who drove us to the train station, was horrible. I was nearly car sick by the time we reached the train station! Other than that, I would recommend a stay at this hotel and would stay here again.
Jewel in the Crown
Perfect quiet and very friendly helpful staff.
Hotel in located in a narrow lane. I surprised what gave them 5 star rating. This hotel can not be more than 2 star. For a 2 star hotel it is pretty good. But for a 5 star it is pretty bad.
VERY ENERGETIC PROPERTY
THE HOTEL HAS IMMENSE CAPACITY TO DO MUCH BETTER THAN WHAT THEY ARE AS THE PROPERTY HAS A VERY POSITIVE ENERGY FLOWING WITHIN IT WHICH THE MANAGEMENT HAS NOT CAPITALIZED ON COMPLETELY. THE FOOD IS ONE AREA WHICH NEEDS IMPROVEMENT.
Great Location
pleasant stay and situated in the heart of the city...
Nice but some TLC needed
It is a lovely hotel with excellent views, the rooms could do with better upkeep.

Excellent
Excellent 4 days vacation experience in Panaji at the Crown Hotel. Maintenance and service was excellent. All staff members were always helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel was also excellent. Surprisingly, Goa (Panaji at least) was unseasonably hot (it was 35 degrees in the middle of January) this year, even though other cities in India we visited during the same trip were a lot cooler and comfortable. But that made returning to the hotel even more of a sanctuary.
