Older Hotel/Motel in Blackpool, UK
Craig-Y-Don is an older motel/hotel. There is no air conditioning which made sleeping very uncomfortable for the time of year we visited (Early September).
It had everything that I wanted, the only thing wrong was the prices for soft drinks.
The entertainment was unfortunately below the bedroom that I was staying in and I couldn't sleep until it finished. Plus side was a sea view bedroom which I wasn't expecting.
Check in was quick. Was upgraded to a sea view room.
My wknd in Blackpool
The stay was good excellent staff . The kids menu didnt have enough choice same everyday. The room i was in was above the entertainment no sleep had till 12 every night wouldn't choose the hotel again
Had a lovely stay. Staff very pleasant and courteous. Would have appreciated choice of heating in bedroom as it was very wet outside and felt cold coming in. Mattress a bit lumpy in Room 21.
The manager Neil at the desk was absolutely disgusting... Iam making a formal complaint about the manager Neil and some members of staff .. be careful when you arrive ..
The only concern I had is that the hotel is not ideal for people with disabilities
craig y don
great stay at the Craig y don, all staff very friendly, tram stop outside, entertainment great. Would recommend highly
We had a good stay here the hotel is really nice rooms nice good breakfast not a bad word to say really the only suggestion would be to have toiletries in bathroom as there was no soap to wash your hands but thanks for a great stay we will be back.
Average seaside hotel without the promised parking
The big problem was that the advertisement said that parking was available when it was not. No on site parking and the street parking that I was refered to by reception was full and any restricted to half an hour! They gaveinformation on expensive car parks whicch would have made my stay more expensive than in better hotels with parking. Even the hotel next door offered secure on site parking. As I am in my late seventies I had to park illegally to unload and load and walk to a long way to find somewhere to leave my car which left me exhausted. Also there was no bath plug or soap in te bathroom and the bathroom floor was extremely squeeky. Otherwise what you would expect for the price.
Room was clean and very spacious, lift good and always available. Bar and games area nice and dining room large
Very clean and tidy
This is the first time we have stayed at the hotel and we will definitely be returning. The location is great. All the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. The breakfast was fab and set you up for the day. The evening entertainment for the adults and kids was excellent. Our grandchildren have loved their stay and did not want to leave. My grandson loves the bingo and gets very excited when you get down to one number. The family room was a great size with plenty of wardrobe space and storage. We all really enjoyed our stay.
Lovely clean friendly hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Brilliant entertainment highly recommended
Good hotel would definitely go back
close to transport, shops and restaurants.
Well located clean property with friendly staff. Excellent breakfast but bar prices are steep.
3rd visit here now. Clean hotel, very friendly staff, quiet and great food and entertainment. Definitely recommend.
Very clean & friendly
Very clean and comfortable. Good food especially breakfast. No green veg with evening meal Sat 8th july, just carrot n cauliflower:( First class entertainment will stay again Super staff ( all levels)
Excellent breakfast and room
I would of given this property 10 of 10 as we loved the refurbished rooms, the entertainment. The friendly staff and the great location but the noise from other rooms till 1 in the morning was terrible. I had 2 nights of disturbed sleep and came home tired. Walls and ceilings are paper thin
nice and clean pleasant and quiet around the hotel food great as usual
Had a lovely stay ,nice hotel ,clean and staff very nice
Check in was not good had to wait 40min Before room was ready. Booking in time was 3.00pm I had keys at 3.40. Good location friendly staff Food was brilliant Keith was very helpful and always looking after his tables
Quick check in and very friendly staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. They also had entertainment on, which we didn’t attend. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The hotel was very close to amenities. I would recommend stopping at the hotel
Had a great overnight stay in this hotel …. Was nice and cosy … staff where great, bingo was great, somewhere to just sit and have a good wee night 😁
My stay
Really enjoyed my stay clean and comfortable staff where excellent can't really have any concerns would book the hotel again
Excellent staff, cleanliness and food
Staff were excellent. Hotel clean. Beeakfast was very good. For £65 per night my room was a box toom with a window facing the opposit side o building. The room on floor below was the luggage room so my room must have reolicated this a floor above Id stay here again 100% just tye cosy for the box room was dosapointing. The hotel is advertised as parking available via hotels.com. i filtered for parking when chosing my hotel and Craig y don has NO parking at all. I had to either pay for parking on an ncp or i found a spot on the rd 2 streets away
Ideal hotel for a wee break great staff entertainment will be back
Really enjoyed our stay, staff very pleasant, room clean, entertainment very good.
5* hotel
The hotel was clean and fresh. The staff where amazing and friendly. Recommend anyone to stay.
Very friendly and staff very friendly and helpful have been before would definitely recommend it and would go back again
Freshly decorated, clean, great staff, seafront, would stay again hopefully next time there will be a decent coffee machine in the dining room.
Excellent
Great hotel and good entertainment
Good Value for Money
Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant clean and bright, food good. Bar staff good, had a bar snack so we could have an alcoholic drink due to COVID restrictions, snack and drinks excellent value for money. We had Fishfinger and chips and toasted sandwich and chips at £4.50 each. Pint of Carling £3.60. Bedroom we paid for a sea view £10 extra per night, worth it. Bedroom clean with modern furniture, floorboards very creaky but expected for this type of old building. Bathroom fit for purpose, but very small struggle to use the shower with toilet very close to it, only toiletries is a small bar of soap. The room we had was above the bar and very noisy while music and artist were on, but did stop between 9.30-10.00pm
Great stay!!!
Basic room but great lots of entertainment. Super friendly staff. Perfect location.
The only negative we could find about our stay at the hotel was, the pillows and mattress were not the most comfortable (in our room). All the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful, a real credit to the hotel. Situated close to the central pier, right on the sea front, the room was spacious and clean, breakfast was buffet-style, nice and plentiful. We also thought the price was very reasonable, paying £133 for 2 night b&b stay, midweek. The hotel seemed to have a relaxed atmosphere, but also very professional. We’re the pillows & mattress of better quality, we would have given this hotel top marks. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and hope to return again next year, and would recommend this hotel without any hesitation.
Weekend break
Second time staying here, hotel is clean and they have Covid rules in place (although a lot of people did ignore the wear a mask while in corridors rule), sanitizer available in public areas. Room was clean and comfy enough with tea and coffee facilities, staff all really friendly and hotel has entertainment at night. Well stocked bar with plenty of seating available. Breakfast was ok but could have been slightly better organised, they have people serving at the buffet but tea/coffee/juice is all shared and people were having to squeeze past others queuing for the buffet to get back to their tables. Hotel is in a really good location, easy to walk to central pier and central area and tram stop right opposite for further journeys etc. We would stay here again
A lovely break in Blackpool
We had a great time lovely people great entertainment good lager taste amazing 👍 we met some lovely people from Scotland .we will book again soon x
Hotel - Ok
Hotel clean, bed hard and the door let a lot of light in. Didn't get the personal touch from staff, except the reception team.
Value for money
Nice relaxing weekend very clean hotel ok food and reasonably priced, only thing that lets it down is no parking but that’s pretty much the norm in Blackpool. Would I stay here again? Yes I would.
Checked in mega fast, nice room, good bar and great breakfast 👍
Mitt i händelsernas centrum.
