It's a good hotel with reasonable price but the location isn't great. The rooms aren't sound proof. There are some good cafes 10 minutes away on foot

The room is dirty and dusty. Sound insulation is very poor. The advantage is that it is easy to find food around.

The room this round wasn’t satisfying, with ants. Being disturbed by next room daily, noose proof is rather bad. Air con in the room is not cooling. Disappointed!

Excellent location. The front desk staffs were very friendly and helpful.

The room rate is ok. The first room given at the second floor had musky, urine smell. It was changed to another room at the third floor. Everyday, there is one lady who would giggle and laugh when entering her room just next door. The opposite building is dirty with foreign workers staying inside. The level is the same and so can see everything. The drainage is blocked which leads to the stench smelled in the bathroom. There are ants at the narrow table and next to the bed.

Room quite smelly and noisy...don't know from where the sound comes from..i guess maybe the paip..can't sleep well because of the noise..the pillow also smelly...like didn't change the pillow case...quite dissapointed this time..

Business Trip

A good hotel for a short stay for business. Cons... didn't provide toothbrush and toothpaste.

Run down facilities. Moldy grout. Wifi password changed by the IT but never informed to the receptionist and had to waste time going to and fro to sort it out.

My toilet door had a hole that looked as if a hammer smashed on it. Was disappointed that there were no toothbrush provided, no toilet roll holder too.

NO FRILLS HOTEL WITH CONVENIENT LOCATION

Very budget/basic Hotel with the low price you paying for. It does not provide any toothpaste, slipper, shaving kit like most of the hotel would provide. Hotel location is good. Bus stop with 200meters walking distance with many bus services to many parts of Penang. Direct bus service from Penang airport at only RM 1.40, very good for tourist with light luggage. Food outlets/shopping malls within walking distance. Giant Hypermarket just across the road. Sound-proofing among the rooms is bad and can hear many noises outside. Hotel Reception Service need to be improved.

Really helpful staff - I had a leg injury and the hotel did not have a wheelchair. The porter offered to wheel me in the luggage trolley instead - worked a treag!Good hotel near airport.

Booked the room for Penang Bridge Marathon. Initially was assigned to Room 316. There was ongoing construction works when I trued to enter. Went back down to reception, waiting for 10 minutes, was reassigned room 318. At 10pm when we were getting ready to sleep, received a call to change back to room 316. Was told thar room 318 roof's was leaking and repair works would be carried out tomorrow. Was not informed about this when we checked in! Fortunately, it did not rain earlier. Room was dirty after the recent construction works. Pungent cigarette smell. Walls were thin, can't sleep at all. Conversation next door was loud. Not recommended. Was not rested at all before the run. No parking available. Need to pay for public parking spaces. If you want a place for the marathon, suggest to book a place next to Queensbay mall. To avoid the hassle of going to the starting point. Also, for a better rest.

This hotel is located in the Residential area and near the road, so night time is quiet noisy due to the sound of the vehicles

I order super deluxe which come with window, but what i received a room with out window. Toilet room cant be lock.

Located 30 mins from Georgetown but its very nice budget hotel. Comfy bed, clean toilet.

Location is superb, near eateries, hypermarket, mosque. Cannot complain much. Wifi a bit slow.

Basic Hotel

Made the reservation for the wrong day and showed up a day late. They were able to accommodate us but not in the same room type which is ok since the mistake was mine. I forgot that not all hotels are non-smoking. Elevator smelled of smoke and Durian as did the room. Bath was nice and newly renovated.

Good budget hotel.

The room I stayed is a bit cramped with no working desk to put my laptop but with a cheap rate I can't complain much. The room is equipped with nice shower and bathroom though. In addition, electric kettle and coffee packets were provided.

Simple and quiet hotel

I booked this hotel via expedia only less than a week before my trip and I had requested 2 rooms. My booking details mentioned 2 rooms but when I checked in, they said it was for 1 room. I had to show them my booking details for them to make the necessary changes. The lobby looks simple and clean as it was just renovated. The rooms were clean and the toilet was acceptable. Only problem was the towels had a funny industrial smoke smell. Or maybe it was being stored in a plastic bag for too long. Even though it's an old building, I'll give a thumbs up for their lift as it's in tip top condition.

If you stay for more than a night, make sure you update your access card at the receptionist otherwise you will end up angry not being able to access your room. The water heater is so unpredictable. Hope they will repair it soon.

Quite far from tourist spots

It took us around 40 min to get to town (plus traffic jam) but if you have work around the area it's pretty decent. Close to Sunshine Square, airport, Uber and Grab are abundant too. Not the place to stay if you're in Penang to travel but other than that everything is okay.

Good Budget Hotel to stay in

Good staff called me when I left my hp charger inside the room after checking out. Simply they can just "burn" the charger themself. 5 Thumb for your sraff honesty.

Stayed three times in the hotel. Quite satisfied. Nearby to airport. No free parking and public parking quite limited too in that area.

Poor night's sleep and no airport benefit...

Chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and we had an early flight. Regretted it... despite being a 5 min drive the taxi the hotel organised was expensive. The rooms have seemingly paper thin walls, the mosque across the road was going full blast until 11.30pm and then some noisy guests next door took up the reigns until about 2am. The result was little sleep and a taxi that would have been the same from a much nicer hotel we'd stayed at in George Town previously. One to forget.

Large Bathroom, cheap rates but no 'view'

Nice hotel staff; 1st room offered to me had a terrible smell (cigarette) and there was no window at all; I turned to the front desk lady she quickly upgraded it for me from standard to a larger room which does have a window (unable to open though). Even though smell was still unpleasant but better. The bathroom was big, bed was big, ... all I needed. Don't quite recommend it however, reason I chose it was b'coz of the location, close to the SPICE arena, I walked 20mins to get there. Olive Tree Hotel was just cross the street but fully booked :(

Close to Penang airport and great value

Staff with excellent English, lovely foyer and clean rooms close to shops and restaurants. Really good value for anyone who is catching an early flight or just wants to be close to the airport for easy access. Comfy bed, kettle for tea/coffee and free wi fi. I would highly recommend to travellers

Reasonable location to choose

Nothing so special about this hotel but not bad either. Location is not bad but parking is not provided for. You have to park along the road and have to pay parking fee. Suitable for travelers who do not spend much time in the hotel.

Parking is quite a nuisance.

I find the parking is a bit difficult to find. And I don't know why we still have to pay for the parking fees during weekends & public holiday.

Nice hotel with friendly and trustworthy staff..

Well maintained environment.. Comfortable bed.. Just the heater was not functioning till 9am, so those who shower aftr that can get hot water to shower.

Good for us

We have family that lives within two minutes walk of this place, so it was very convenient for us. Walking distance to the markets and Sunshine, Giant across the road and the bus stops right next door. We stayed two weeks, in 108. It is a bit noisy due to it being next to the lobby. One receptionist lets the phones ring 3 times before answering. One night I heard very loud wok noises and another night a bunch of noisy Chinese tourists. Fortunately we live usually on a busy road at home, so we could sleep, but if you are a light sleeper, I would ask for a higher floor. We bought our own shampoo, conditioner, mosquito repellent, plastic cup and dish soap for the room. We would stay again because of the convenience for us to family, but many others would only stay here because of convenience to factories.

You get more than what you paid for

A pretty good experience for its price (35AUD per night) The hotel lacks certain amenities but it has all your rudimentary needs. Rooms are not very spacious but the bathroom definitely is very luxurious despite not having a bathtub WiFi speed fluctuates and can sometimes be really fast The facility is pretty modern and comes with flatscreen TV TV channel includes BBC, Fox Movie and Discovery channel The beds are reasonably comfortable but can certainly be improved The room walls are peeling off and it is very unappealing to the hotel patrons It is nearby a food court and shopping mall (5 minutes walk) about 25 minutes to George Town (City Center of Penang) with Uber Very happy with my 35 AUD, definitely will book for this hotel again

Clean room, friendly staff, affordable price.

Room is simple but its cleanliness is what matters the most to me. The staff was so friendly they greeted you like friends. Nice hotel, affordable price! Only disadvantage is the relatively farther distance away from Queensbay, which is still an acceptable 3-min ride away. Will definitely recommend again.

Good service. I book a 2 persons room for my parents. When i was doing the check in at the counter with my parents, they provide upgrade to family room that have 3 beds without extra charge because they already dont have 2 persons anymore. The workers are nice and friendly.

The pillows are too flat, shower not warm enough. Overall, everything else is fine. I like the King size bed. Next time i will come to stay this hotel again cos all rooms have King size bed.

Bad- room had mosquito & hotel did not honour the free parking as advertised.

A simple pleasant hotel room to spend the night.

It was quite pleasant except for no free parking. Have had to buy coupon to park my car from 7:00am to 9:00pm. Anyway, except for that, the rest was ok. However, airconditioner was not that cool making my room a bit heaty.
