Liked · The Hotel is great, the ambiance and decoration of the place is very pleasing. Everything is very well taken care to the little details. From checkin process, to the cleaness and room comforts and the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. The location of the hotel is prime with a great view of the sea and right on the beach also with wooden bridge into the water for a nice dive or snorkel with exceptional corals and colorful fish. The food was great and had very good variety however the breakfast itself could have been better considering the food taste and richness. Disliked · There was no kettles in rooms this was very much needed as I love to make my own coffee in the morning or herbal tea in the afternoons. Not having. kettle in the room I had to ask for hot water everytime which was somehow annoying.

Our stay was incredible. Stefan and his entire staff were very well prepared to make us feel at ease, actually quite special, during COVID times. I've stayed here many times over the past few years and will continue returning. Kudos to the entire team for your hard work and for making guests feel at home, relaxed and safe!

This is the place to stay as solo traveler (m/f), group of friends or couple that want to meet up with others. Food caters to German, Swiss guests, few British, but all nationalities are welcome and will feel welcome. Diving center adjacent. House reef for enrolling and diving. Top; 45 min drive from Hurghada airport

The staff were always on hand to offer assistance. Being disabled in a wheelchair this was particularly useful. I am finding it difficult to think of anything negative.

We booked this hotel because it was close to the jetty to get into the water as we wanted to snorkel and it got consistently good reviews. The standard rooms are ok and clean and tidy. We booked a room overlooking the golf course but were allocated one where we had a sunset view which suited us. Most of us grumble about twin beds being pushed together, but I can understand this makes it easier for the hotel but you do then get the biggest and longest quilt ever, so no complaints about feet sticking out the bottom! As there is a courtyard with the swimming pool in the middle of the hotel, there's often squealing from kids enjoying themselves in the pool. There's a lot of thought gone into creating areas to 'chill out' which was handy as February seems to be sunny but windy. There's some nice spots on the roof terrace to get away from the wind.The dive centre is right next door which is why there are many dive groups at the hotel. It's perfect for them. Lots of good buffet food to fill up on! Whilst the daily food theme is on a 7 day cycle, we noticed that there were different dishes when it came round the next week which was a nice touch. The drinks and water as has been mentioned by others are close to European hotel prices. There's no free water in your rooms to clean your teeth with. The water in the bathroom is desalinated. You can buy water at the mini market at the back of the Marina and come back on the golf buggy.

The only hotel I know that I will be holidaying at again. Top notch

Great if you want to avoid crowds

The staff always work hard to provide guests with a good experience. This is not a five star hotel and not a chain so if you like that type of place Breakers might not be for you. But if you like a more low key, less crowded experience Breakers is great. We've stayed many times and it's always a hit.

Great place to stay, but not the best kiting spot

I booked Breakers for a 4 day kite surfing trip and it was the perfect place to stay. The hotel has a boutique feel to it, well organised and managed. The staff were very helpful and courteous. I didn't kite at the Kitehouse spot, which is only a bus ride away, as the prevailing wind direction is offshore, it tends to be crowded in a restricted area. Instead, I based myself at Point Break, further down the coast, I was picked up by boat every day, which was fund and kited in a cross shore spot with much fewer kiters and much interesting terrain.

6 star service in 4 star hotel

Pros Staff, staff, staff. All of them are brilliant and so friendly. Have not experienced service like that in any other hotel in Egypt. The house reef at the end of the jetty (an absolute must!) and you can rent all the equipment at the Orca dive shop. Cons No beach No coffee/tea making facilities If you can live without a beach then you should stay in this hotel, without a doubt.

Everything for water sports

Kiting, surfing, diving, snorkeling thats why people come there. And there are best facilities for that. Food is good, kitchen very clean, decent staff, no harasment, nice guests, mostly adult or with elder children from Germany and Switzerland. Yoga-sessions, gym, nice bar, wonderful reef... Perfect cleanliness!

Lovely relaxing hotel

Breakers is a small (compared to many Red Sea resorts), compact and generally well appointed hotel. Our room was clean and well presented with two comfortable twin beds pushed next to each other - we had room 253 which was spacious and looked right out over the small beach front and sea. We could pick up free wi-fi in our room which was quite fast. Good choice of well cooked food at all mealtimes. Excellent and friendly customer service by all staff. Lovely large bar area with a pool table and table football which were rarely used but again acted as a focus for relaxing. Little to occupy you other than scuba dive or snorkel (the hotel has a beautiful house reef), kite surf, sunbathe or just chill out with friends old and new - all the good things in life! The on-site Orca dive centre is very well run and supportive to all levels of diver and is a major focus of activity where people will meet to chat and relax. Loved it and hope to return.

Breakers Dive & Surf Hotel

This is our third time at Breakers at Soma Bay. Service is excellent, particularly for Egypt--5 star! The facility is nice with a beach, a pier to dive or snorkel right there, and a dive shop next door. Walking path winds along ocean and past other hotels. There is a rooftop for sunning and lounging beds. The dinners are very good with changing menu each night. Breakfasts are average with no variety, however fresh juices have been removed from previous years--a disappointment! Things that could be improved: allow guests to bring water and their own wine (Egyptian wine is closer to vinegar). Wi-fi is not available in the rooms. "Available in all areas" means all public areas, but where it is available it's pretty fast. TVs are blocked from using an HDMI cable, but you can request maintenance to unblock it--however if you turn your TV off, it reverts back to blocked. Overall we recommend Breakers and it is a good value for the money!

Great See view,Enjoy diving,Kite Surf

I spent four nights, enjoying diving at the house reef and kite surf.The hotel is clean and has a unique location on the house Reef, so you can enjoy diving and snorkeling,The hotel also offer complementary breakfast and dinner, you will not find the same in others hotels in Soma bay. Also price per night is cheaper than other hotels, Service is good, clean hotel,with amazing facilities, I strongly recommend it for couples and families.Reception Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, speaking different languages fluently.

I stayed Great 4 nights in a room with breathtaking sea View,I enjoyed diving in the House Reef and Kite Surfing.The hotel Reception team are nice , friendly, helpful and speak English, Russian and German languages Fluently. Breakfast and Dinner is Nice Unique location on the House Reef, so you can Enjoy Diving and snorkeling daily. Also Kite surf house is near and there is Shuttle service every 20-30 minutes .I recommend early booking for Kite surfing lessons by phone before arrival.Diving Center is well equipped, Friendly experienced instructors .Service , location is nice also prices are reasonable in comparison to other hotels in the same area(Soma Bay).I strongly recommend this hotel for Families,Friends and Couples.

Great for Kiteboarding (Non-Beginners)

Absolutely relaxing experience with everything taken care of - buffet breakfast and dinner is fantastic, great variety and delicious. Snorkeling off the hotel is world class. I would highly recommend for someone looking for a easy, relaxing holiday to focus on water sports and having all catered for. Do not expect cultural experience however, as the location is not made for this. Soma Bay is amazing for kiteboarding, but not suitable for beginners due to predominately offshore winds, i.e. you get dragged out to sea. While they have rescue boats to bring you back, the drift impacts ability for instructor to remain close and physically help you.

Great winter sunshine break.

Thanks to ex-pats living in Hurgharda we were reassured that the area was safe and the locals were welcoming. Soma Bay had been recommended for its reef with good snorkelling and scuba. Those recommendations proved to be good advice. We were two retired couples who were looking for a winter break, some sunshine, swimming, snorkelling, scuba. The "Breakers" is one of five hotels within the Soma Bay complex and all were down on visitors presumably because of the troubles. Upside was that we were very well looked after with no shortage of food, facilities or service. Half board was excellent with good spreads both morning and evening. Most days were cloudless and the sea temperature at 22 meant plenty of time in the water. The marine life was wonderful and easy to access from the hotel pier, a 400m jetty over the shallow lagoon to the edge of the reef and the deeper water beyond. As the sun dropped and it became cooler, the pool was lovely and warm, fed by a heated cascade. Other hotels on the complex offer opportunities for sailing, golf, sailboarding and kite surfing. The golf course is great but expensive. The Thelasso Spa, the ladies went there whilst we played our golf, almost as expensive but must be done as a one off.

Die Hotelzimmer sind frisch renoviert. Matratzen sind hart (man kann aber Topper anfragen). Leider waren durchgängig Renovierungsarbeiten im Aussenbereich im Gange. Dies hatte zur Folge, dass man den gesamten Tag im Poolbereich entsprechende Einschränkungen (Geräuschkulisse, Geruchsbelästigung etc.) hatte. Ich war jetzt bereits mehrfach im Breakers und finde, dass das Essensangebot gegenüber meinem letzten Besuch schlechter geworden ist, insbesondere nicht mehr so abwechslungsreich und qualitativ hochwertig wie es in der Vergangenheit war. Auch das Publikum hat sich geändert, es waren diesmal sehr viele Leute da, die Liegen am Pool reserviert haben - das gab es früher nicht!

Idéale pour passer des vacances de plongées sous marine. House reef 5* avec accès par un beau ponton de 400m et trajets soit à pieds en balade ou par le club de plongée en tuk-tuk. Eaux très claires, propriété de l'hôtel et ses environs impeccable, service personnel au top. Un petit bémol concernant variétés du buffet et dommage de ne pas pouvoir manger du poisson frais quand on se trouve au bord de mer, mais ceux-ci ne gâche pas du tout les vacances. C'est la cinquième visite à Sima Bay, toujours un plaisir de retrouver du personnel très accueillant, souriant, heureux. Bravo Breakers!

Wir hatten eine tolle und entspannte Tauchurlaubwoche im Beakers und kommen sicherlich mal wieder!!

Überzeugende Unterkunft mit sehr gutem Konzept. Der Eigentümer ist Österreicher und man merkt, dass er seinen Beruf als Hotelier liebt. Keine gleichförmige Hotelkette, sondern ein individuelles, persönliches Hotel. Sehr besonders ist der 400-Meter-Steg zum Hausriff mit wunderschönen tropischen Fischen. Auch der Kitespot beim 7-Bft-Kitehouse ist wunderbar organisiert.

Sehr freundliches Personal, dass sich sehr gut un die Göste kümmert und keinen Aufwand scheit. Zimmer frisch renoviert.

Das Breakers spricht für sich durch die vielen Wiederkehrer. Wir sind auch so welche. Wir haben uns wieder so wohl gefühlt, die Entspannung am Strand und an den chill Areas, das Tauchen, Schnorcheln, Kiten, Joggen, Yoga, Massagen, das Kennenlernen netter Menschen und das Treffen alter Bekannter. Natürlich hervorzuheben ist das außergewöhnlich leckere Essen und und und…… Wir freuen uns schon auf unseren nächsten Urlaub im Breakers. Sonnige Grüße Marion & Thomas

Magnifique housereef

On y revient / on adore

C'est notre troisième séjour au Breakers On adore. Nous étions 10. Le cadre est magnifique , idéal pour la plongée (centre de plongée sur place) le kite surf et le wind surf (à côté ) Tout Le personnel est adorable , hyper gentil. Le petit déjeuner et le buffet du soir (tous les soirs, le thème est différent) est délicieux. On s’est régalé. Tous les jours un happy hour. Club Allemand donc beaucoup d’Allemands. Nous y reviendrons une quatrième fois.

zum Kiten und Tauchen super! Für Strandurlaub nicht geeignet.

Wir waren schon zum zweiten Mal im Breakers. Es gibt viele gute Gründe, hierher zu kommen - allen voran der unglaublich tolle Staff. Auch zu unserem ein Jahr alten Sohn waren alle wirklich zuckersüß. Als wir gesundheitlich angeschlagen waren, wurde ein full Service geboten (von Doktor anrufen bis Medikamente ans Zimmer liefern). Das Rundumpaket stimmt hier. Verbessern sollte man aus unserer Sicht: - Deklaration des Essens, insbesondere für Vegetarier (z. B. gab es einen Abend "Oven Potatoes" ohne weitere Beschreibung. Da muss ich davon ausgehen, dass das vegetarisch ist - leider war Hühnchen drin. Geht leider gar nicht). Das gilt bei allen Gerichten auch bei Suppen oder für Fonds, die verwendet werden oder bei Nachtischen (wobei in einem arabischen Land Gelatine wohl eine untergeordnete Rolle spielen dürfte) - Ausstattung des Sportbereichs: die Matten müssen dringend mal ausgetauscht werden. - Zimmer: es bedarf einer Renovierung, die aber bereits im Gange ist. Wir kommen wieder :-)

Das Personal im Breakers ist super freundlich und macht jedem Urlaub zu einem Traum.

Das Breakers ist jetzt mehr als zehn Jahre alt, wird aber laufend erneuert und verbessert. Ausserdem sind die Mitarbeiter bereits alle Corona geimpft.

Super nette Leute, freundlich, sauber & gutes Essen. Zudem findet man durch die Runden Tische auch als Alleinreisender immer Anschlussmöglichkeiten zu anderen.

Alles sehr positive. Wegen Sprache war service teilweise nicht 100%, aber am sonst alles sehr gut.

Kiteurlaub

es war super. ich werde schon bald wieder ins breakers gehen.

Durchwegs war das Personal sehr sehr freundlich und immer gut gelaunt. Das eine oder andere ist wahrscheinlich seit bestehen nicht mehr erneuert worden (z.b. Toilettenbrillen und vorhänge in den Zimmern) Wir würden jederzeit wieder hinfahren.

Les plus : + L'hôtel est très bien tenu + Les repas sous forme de buffet sont très bons Les moins - Les boissons sont payantes y compris l'eau pendant le repas du soir (en demi pension), tarif européen au moins (près de 5 E le L d'eau, et l'eau du robinet n'étant pas potable, on en consomme beaucoup) - Les cocktails ne sont pas très bons et sont chers (8-10 E en tout cas ceux que nous avons bu : glace dominante d'un goût peu agréable) - Le vin de table (en carafe) est très cher (10 E pour 25 cL d'un vin blanc pas frais) - Les paniers repas (petit déjeuner et diner) sont mauvais, rien à voir avec le buffet : Petit déj : un concombre, une tomate, trois morceau de pain sans rien avec, une prune, une petite bouteille d'eau et une petite bouteille de jus de fruit, un morceau de poulet frit, Diner : un morceau de poulet frit, trois tranchettes de fromage, du beurre, pas de pain, pas de dessert, pas d'eau - Clientèle allemande, donc et affichage discours en allemand, pas tjrs traduit en anglais - piscine est très froide, et on ne peut pas se baigner sur la plage, il ne reste que le snorkeling au bout du ponton car comble de l'ironie pour un hôtel tourné vers la plongée, impossible de faire de la plongée, toutes les places étaient réservée au moins pour la semaine quand nous sommes arrivés (nulle part il est indiqué qu'il faut réserver, 1ere fois que ça nous arrive) Attention, c'est à 1 h de la ville de Hurghada, compter 20 E en uber Bref, du potentiel mais décevant.

Würde ich sofort weiterempfehlen

War zwar nur eine Nacht dort aber sehr positiv überrascht. Vor allem das Essen hat mir sehr gut gefallen, lecker und schön angerichtet, nicht so einen Massenabfertigung wie in manchen Hotels. Der Check in war etwas laut da noch andere Gäste mit uns ankamen, aber sonst alles super. Auch das Zimmer hatte sogar einen seitlichen Meerblick und es gab deutsche Fernsehprogramme und viel Auswahl in der Minibar. Preise für Getränke sind ok, und im gesamten Hotel gab es auch ein sehr gutes Wlan. Gerne wieder mal :-)

Es gibt immer wieder etwas Neues in der Anlage zu entdecken.

Ferie med høj standard. Denne gang stod den på afslapning med solbadning, yoga, saunagus, gåture i vandkanten og snorkling. Næste gang - for der bliver en næste gang - bliver det sikkert udvidet med dykning, og/eller kitesurf. Næste gang kommer manden og teenagebørnene også med

Wenn man am Hotel mit "Welcome Home" begrüßt, obwohl man noch nie in diesem Hotel war, dann muss es entweder gutes Marketing oder die Grundeinstellung der Hotel und seiner Mitarbeiter sein. Es war Letzteres. Wunderbare Lage etwas abseits der großen Massenhotels an der Soma Bay mit eigenem Riff vor der Tür (ideal für Taucher und Schnorchler). Aufgrund der Größe des Hotels hatte es definitiv einen familiären Charakter, der auch vom Personal so gelebt wurde. In Verbindung mit dem 7BFT Kitehouse, zu dem halbstündlich ein Shuttle fährt, das ideale Hotel für einen Kiteurlaub in der Soma Bay. Relaxen, entspannend und wunderbares Essen inklusive. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Zum Abschalten und Schnorcheln ideal. Tolles Hausriff über einen langen Jetty erreichbar. Aber man muss wissen, dass das Hotel fast ausschließlich von Deutschen besucht wird. Etwas schade, wenn man es gern bissi international hat... Personal ungeheuer freundlich ohne hemaks aufdringlich zu sein!!

Wenn man im Breakers ankommt, wird man mit den Worten „welcome Home“ begrüßt! Und schon nach kurzer Zeit, wusste ich warum! Hier ist man als Gast wie bei Freunden zu Jause! Wer sich hier nicht wohlfühlen, sollte den Fehler eher bei sich , als beim Hotel suchen!! Ich werde wieder ins Breakwrs kommen!!

Tolle Atmosphäre, sehr nettes Team, Essen sehr lecker (wechselnde Themenbuffets am Abend, große Auswahl beim Frühstück), super Hotel für einen gechillten Sporturlaub (Tauch- und Kiteschule, Yoga, Fitness).

Das Breakers ermöglicht einem Sun, Fun und Relaxen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das unglaublich freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal!!! Ein Ort an dem man sich nur wohlfühlen kann. Das Motto „Welcome Home“ ist nicht nur ein Slogan sondern so fühlt es sich an. Es war mein erstes Mal Ägypten und das Breakers. Und sicher nicht das letzte Mal. Danke für diese Woche !

The Breakers ist ein sehr schönes Sporthotel für Taucher und Kitesurfer! Ich war das 2.mal dort und werde sicherlich noch öfter dort meinen Tauchurlaub verbringen!

Sehr gutes Hotel für Taucher, Schnorchler und Kitesurfer. Schöne Hotelanlage mit vielen Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten auf verschiedenen Ebenen. Zugang zum Wasser über langen Steg. Liegen am Strand mit Sonnenschirmen und Windschutz verfügbar. Das Frühstücks- und Abendessens-Angebot ist hervorrangend. Getränke sind etwas teuer.

Super Personal, perfekter Service! Tolle Tauchbasis mit Hausriff.

Oriental, mexican and asian dinner nights are great. - Apart from these special dinner nights dinner is ok. Dessert looks good but the taste is only average. + Staff is super friendly. Rooms are clean. - Unfortunately no water for free in standard room. Shower changes from warm to cold water constantely.

Mein Lieblingshotel

Das Breakers ist das ideale Hotel für Kitesurfer und Taucher. Direkt am Hotel liegt die Tauchstation und mit einem regelmäßigen Shuttlebus erreicht man die Kitestation auf der anderen Seite der Bucht. Noch nie habe ich freundliches Personal erlebt als hier. Das Essen ist hervorragend, die Zimmer sauber. Selbstverständlich gibt es überall Wlan.

Schönes Haustriff, coole Tauchbasis

Für Taucher optimal ..viele tolle Tauchplätze, gut organisierte Tauchschule, tolles Tauchteam! Hotel Anlage hervorragend für Alleinreisende da sehr schnell Kontakte zu andere Singels oder Paare stattfinden. Hauptsprache Deutsch, sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal, tolle events, sehr coole, offene und gelassene Stimmung

Mein Aufenthalt im Breakers war sehr angenehm. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und sämtliche Angestellte waren äusserst hilfsbereit und auch immer freundlich. Sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen sind sehr abwechslungsreich und vielseitig. Wer aber einen etwas anfälligen Magen hat, der sollte sich bei den rohen Speisen zurück halten. Mit Pool, Sauna, Tauchshop und eigenem Hausriff zum Tauchen oder Schnorcheln bietet das Breakers zahlreiche Freizeitaktivitäten. Auch das Kitehouse ist in 10 min mit dem gratis Shuttlebus schnell zu erreichen.

Super Hotel!

Wir sind weder Taucher noch Kiter und trotzdem war dieses Hotel genau das Richtige für uns. Das Hausriff ist einfach genial und der Service des Hotels wirklich überragend. Der Besitzer ist Hotelier aus Leidenschaft und das macht sich in allen Bereichen bemerkbar. Toll sind die verschiedenen Themenabende, hier lässt man sich auf jeden Fall etwas besonderes für die Gäste einfallen. Die Yogalehrerin Suzy ist ein Profi, hier sollte man auf jeden Fall die ein oder andere Yogastunde mitnehmen. Besonders angenehm fanden wir auch das Klientel der Gäste. Beim Abendessen sitzt man öfters gemeinsam am Tisch und es gab immer anregende Gesprächsrunden. Sicherlich auch ein tolles Hotel für Alleinreisende, da man hier easy ins Gespräch kommt und Gleichgesinnte trifft. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Unser Aufenthalt im Breakers war - wie auch im letzten Jahr 2016 - unschlagbar. Die direkte Nähe zum Meer und der Zugang zum Hausriff sind ein großes Plus. Man läuft über einen wunderschönen sich ins Meer schlängelnden Holzsteg zum Schwimmen oder Schnorcheln. Das Hotel ist sehr persönlich geführt, der Manager lässt sich häufig sehen, das Personal ist locker und entspannt, seine Freundlichkeit ist echt und es ist bemüht, es dem Gast Recht zu machen. "Welcome home" ist nicht einfach nur ein Spruch. Abendangebote wie der Arabische Abend, eine abwechslungsreiche Küche, ein phänomenales Osterfrühstück, .... das alles macht das Wohlfühlen im Breakers leicht. Verschiedene Extras wie Yoga am Abend und Morgen, die lockere Reef Bar mit Billiard und Tischkickern, die Boccia Bahn, Sauna, das Fitness-Center lassen keine Langeweile aufkommen. In 2 Minuten hat man auch den Orca Dive Club erreicht, in dem sehr professionelle Tauch-Master und Equipment auf den Anfänger und die vielen Profis warten, hier werden auch regelmäßige Bootstouren auf die Riffe des Roten Meeres angeboten. Alles sehr easy und entspannt. Der Ausblick aufs Meer, nette Gäste, die meisten von ihnen sportbegeisterte Kiter, Taucher oder einfach Schnorchler, verschönern den Abend. Wir könnten sofort wieder fahren.
