Staff were welcoming, responsive and helpful. The a/c didn’t work in our room. They tried to fix it but had not succeeded by the time we had to check out.
Stayed here for a layover. Safe property with pleasant staff but room and property are a bit dated. Good location as well.
Not 5 Star. Decent Value
The hotel grounds were lush but the inside of the hotel was decent, and that's the perfect word to describe my overall experience at The Boma Nairobi. The food was just decent. Breakfast? For the money, it was simply "okay." Truth be told, I was disappointed with my stay. The mini fridge had leftover condensation and a bit of mold inside, which might not have been a huge issue to handle had it worked. This is a decent hotel - it's not a 5 star establishment.
Definitely a returning customer.
Nice
Security was nice. Hall lighting needs improvement. Beds were a little too firm. Room was dusty.
Lovely stay, would stay again gladly. Asanti!
Amazing, spacious, simply a pleasure
Amazing, spacious, simply a pleasure
Great place to start a visit to Kenya. Quiet, safe, clean, professional.
Safe, clean, quiet. Nice pool. Amazing breakfast bar. Really courteous and helpful staff. We really enjoyed our stay.
It lists as 5* but more like 3 1/2*
Check in took a long time and the air conditioner in the room didn’t work well so the room was really warm. Staff were kind and friendly, willing to help and answer questions.
Rooms spacious and modern, staff friendly and very helpful
The Boma Nairobi had everything I needed. The bathroom had options for a quick shower, and a deep bath- which for me, as someone who is big on self-care really loves. Next, the buffet option for breakfast, lunch or dinner, provides one with several options of what to eat. Next, the staff members are very professional and peasant. Lastly, the security protocol is worth mentioning, because you go through a check, similar to the TSA at an airport, which for me, was really cool. I would want this experience over and over, and can't wait to bring our partners to Kenya, to have such a luxurious experience! Best, Bisola-Mariam (Founder and CEO, ideyforyou).
Checked in early! $25. Ride from airport. $25. Horrible 1st room, decent 2nd room. Right now checking to see if I have double payed booking through Expedia and the hotel! Staff was unpleasant. Wanted to talk to manager and was a NoShow.
It is business friendly hotel, westernized
Lovely delicious breakfast. Front desk was respectful and professional. The accommodations were spacious, clean, and comfortable.
The staff was great but that hotel needs some TLC. The property is old AC kept needing to be reset the worst wifi I experienced in my life . A great staff can’t help with those shortfalls. They are in need of a major upgrade. And try to get an IT department that helps with the WiFi issues.
It was great! The restaurant was a stand out for both breakfast and dinner.
Top quality room in every way except no microwave. That didn't matter to me because I was not willing to go shopping without a escort of some kind. Breakfast buffet was excellent but expensive at $24. I would prefer an a la carte option because I'm a light eater.
Good one
Great experience
Beautiful hotel
Nice hotel. Friendly staff. This is my choice hotel when I come to Nairobi.
Shower space was limited and their drainage doesn’t work. Not a great place to stay
Boma hotel was great! I felt very comfortable and it is just like the pictures. The staff was super friendly and breakfast was amazing! I will surely be booking Boma on the regular whenever I’m in Nairobi
Quiet and staff were friendly and very helpful.
This is average 3 star hotel. Bathroom faucet was broken, didn’t hv head shower. Surrounding area is unsafe to walk around by yourself. Dinner buffet was terrible. So I ordered a ka carte which was good. Breakfast buffet was good. Staff was friendly
Amazing staff and the rooms were excellent. The dining room served delicious meals. The pool staff were beyond exceptional. Always ready to serve your every need. WELL DONE BOMA NAIROBI!!
Staff was very friendly and efficient.
Our flight was delayed. We were unable to stay at the Boma. We booked with free cancellation. The Boma Hotel refused to refund the one night we paid for. The amount is being disputed with the bank because the Boma hotel is committing fraud. When you book and add free cancellation, the Boma does not have the right to keep the money and tell Expedia that they have strict policies. Malcom, Joseph, and the manager at the Boma Hotel are committing fraud. Do not stay there because if the airline is delayed, you will lose your money. There are nice hotels that won’t steal from you.
The food could be better. I rate it 2 out of 5, otherwise our stay was pleasant.
The food could be better. I rate it 2 out of 5.
Quite
Boma Hotel has been for a long time my go to Hotel. However, my previous two visits have not been pleasant at all. The rooms need throughly maintenance/overhaul. The carpets look dated, which is not nice.
We were in and hours in less than 7 hours, the room was clean, the breakfast was fine... It is in a gated area. I can not rate others as I would not know much.
Everyone was helpful and happy. So nice to see!
Very lovely facility and staff. I'll definitely revisit next time I'm in Nairobi.
Some of the staff was outstanding. Others were just doing their job. The condition of the rooms were average. Pillows were old and flat. Face cloths missing or stained towels. The hotel has a grand look and the larger suites are comfortable but it doesn’t quite measure up for the price.
We had no power for more than four hours, including generator
It’s a really nice hotel with everything you need.
Fast check-in
.
There are a lot of things to added into some business and executive rooms , eg water ; soda in mini bar
This is a nice hotel with good dining on the premises. We liked the larger rooms.
Always Exceptional Service!
This is my second stay at The Boma. The staff is always friendly, helpful and hospitable. Rooms are spacious and quiet and food is good. Lots of space to spread out for meetings, remote working or to grab a coffee. Everything is always exceptional—the only downside is that I wish there were better pillows. Will continue to stay here when I’m in Nairobi.
Ok, near the airport
The hotel has a nice design but has not been maintained well. The AC caused such a loud rattle that we couldn’t sleep with it on,
It was alright. People were friendly.
Great experience
The staff was great. Special thats to Jefferson, Jane and Anthony. Walking outside the hotel was not easy or something I will do again. However I will choose this hotel on my next visit. If you are a party person you have to go westlands.
Fantastic Hotel
This is a fantastic hotel in a great location for Nairobi airport, Nairobi National Park and the Giraffe Centre all south of the city. The rooms were very spacious with a powerful shower. The breakfast was fantastic as was the evening meal options. We used this hotel for a couple of days rest after our safari and we couldn’t have asked for better.
Positives: appreciate that had lovely breakfast, affordable dinner, a gym, and a pool. Staff very helpful. Things to improve: wifi very poor, not all outlets work at all, esp by pool, pool closes at 6-7 pm (should be 8-9), no ice cubes available about 1/2 time, and shower in my room very small w door opening inward--no way to avoid water on bathroom floor, and a person larger than myself couldnt close the shower door once in the shower. Room 2512. Also, you can't tip staff when paying w credit card unless have cash.
Safe and fancy 5 Star Hotel
It’s a fancy 5 star hotel with heavy security. We arrived at midnight and had 5 people taking care of us.
It’s a total rip off. Coffee is $7:00 USD! Really in Kenya. Rooms are dirty. Places is totally outdated Constantly running out of food items I could write a lot more but I know I’m never going back to Boma
The property is dated substantially. Shower doors will leak, you might be missing light bulbs, the decor is dated, the wifi might be weak. The spa is dated but the service was actually great (spent 3 hrs there … towels are falling apart but the elixir body scrub and massage were amazing). The tembo restaurant on site has a large menu and the food is pretty good … the service is done with a smile but you may need to flag down people or ask for things. They are very nice. I stayed here on 3 different occasions in the span of 2 weeks. The security is pretty good. The shower will leak on your bathroom floor. The beds are comfy enough.
The staff at the Boma go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The good is FANTASTIC. The pool staff should be commended for their service as well. Dont miss happy hour!!
The check in is so boring only one person and took him 26 minutes to check in.
It was clean and quiet.
It was clean and quiet and had everything we needed!
Everyone was very friendly and smiled upon greeting
Very nice property, great service, good food! Happy to stay there again and recommend to others!
Very tiny shower with only rain head fixture. Good breakfast and restaurant… everything else was average or below. Scheduled to stay 7 more days on 12/21 but canceled due to poor experience.
The bathroom drainage was choked and flooded the bathroom. When informed of the problem, the housekeeping merely wiped off the water and said that everything was okay. 3 hours later when we cam back, the bathroom floor flooded again and they took another 90 minutes to try to solve the problem, but did not succeed, and finally changed us to another room. This room the drainage was okay, but the room was very warm for comfort. Overall not a good experience.
Nice hotel convenient for airport
They couldn’t do enough for us. Everything was wonderful
Speedy check in and friendly staff
Staff Willingness to assist. Pleasant demeanour
Top quality hotel and Service!
The facilities are new, clean and excellently maintained. All staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Wifi service was fast. If I return to Nairobi, I will return to BOMA Hotel.
Very comfortable hotel in good location. Efficient airport pick up service. Helpful staff.
Welcome was amazing but service is not to expectations. Managers are disconnected from their customers and employees are not motivated.
The property was okay. Nicely located near the bypass. However, for the evening I was there, some county government officials had bumped many other customers who had reservations. It was a mess at check-in.
Good location and good value
Hotel was a great location and did the job for a few days. The bathroom could've been cleaner and the shower door didn't close properly and was very small, but all in all it was great value for money and most importantly the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Not a very good experience
Not so great experience, booked a deluxe room which was facing the swimming pool outside of neighbouring building and so noisy through out the afternoon and evening. One of the Receptionist was very friendly but there was a man at the reception who was extremely rude & wasn’t welcoming at all. There was wedding reception was happening today on 26th Aug with very loud music when sitting in the lounge area and toilets are unattended n unacceptable near the restaurant to use. Not a 5 star hotel I am afraid and I won’t recommend at all.
My first impression of the property was the safety and security of guests. The team members were very friendly and always willing to help. The concierge desk was very valuable as the team there were able to assist us in tours of choice; notwithstanding that everything is organized for you. Customer service checked us to ensure our stay was comfortable and to our expectation. Staff in dining areas were pleasant, rooom service was 24 hours. The BOMA hotel felt like a home away from home. Thanks Expedia for offering the choice of this property, that gave me value for money.
Checkin: Checkin took 20 minutes, as they couldn’t find my reservation that I booked through Expedia. Room: Air conditioning unit sounded like a generator, very loud. Most outlets didn’t work, I even had one fall out of the wall. The usb slot didn’t work, lucky I had my adapter with me. I went to the gym to use the sauna and there nobody at the gym front desk which meant having to go behind the desk myself to grab a towel and find the sauna myself. The room shower would go searing hot every few minutes on its own accord. Three shampoos in the shower but no conditioner. The room service menu was based off a tiny QR code below the tv that I was not informed about at Checkin and therefore couldn’t see it, it took a trip back to reception to find this out. At checkout I needed to print a document but I’d been cutoff from the guest wifi and the front desk didn’t know the password to the lounge wifi - so had to wait 5 minutes for a manager to arrive and try input the password for me. All in all a frustrating nights stay at the Boma, just seems like a badly managed property.
A beautiful and secure hotel with the most helpful staff.
I can see my self coming backå
Was ok. Very Nice staff and breakfast was very good. Needed to have 30 Pages printed out and had to pay for it. Close to the same as a maincourse at the restaurant. Dont mind paying but find it funny at a 5 star hotel. But the hotel Got the job done and could might as well be the place to stay next time I visit Nairobi. Very fair priced🙏👌
Always a good stay here. Great staff, good food, and safe place with a nice gym and pool.
Amazing experience, we were able to relax after a long journey and the area was close to central nairobi by car. We did have dirty dishes in our room when we arrived, but the cleanliness and hospitality of the hotel meant that it was of not great factor to us. Would absolutely stay again!
I like that the staff were courteous but I didn’t like the fact that I couldn’t enter the property with a slice of cake that was recommended to me by a Kenyan citizen, nor could I enter with water that I bought at a supermarket. I understand that Nairobi has security concerns but when it affects cake and water, it starts to feel like a prison environment instead of a place to vacation. Also, the last few days of my stay, the bathroom had a stench as if someone had used a map that had been wet for a while to wipe it
It took a while for my reservation to be found. I got a free coffee for my troubles but it took about an hour or more to sort that out. I guess thats why my VIP status was not recognised in the end.
Brief stay
We were pleasantly surprised by the clean and modern interior. We utilized the bar as well and found it inviting.
All-in-one
Was really good with restaurants, shops and spa. A place where you could just relax and take it easy.
Great stay
The checkin process could have a bit smoother and quicker - and the room service could have been sooner
Confortable rooms
Excellent stay at The Boma thanks to Esther, Faith, Carol and Mary; they are a great team. Also, the hotel is very scenic and well kept. Unfortunately, The Boma doesn't have enough Deluxe size rooms which are better quality room, however, The Boma is my go to hotel when I'm in Nairobi.
Everything was excellent, from the time we arrived and checked in until the time we left. The staff was awesome and the stay was awesome!!
The services was great...best place for a birthday party.
I’m skinny and I couldn’t fit in the shower, the last night the move to another room at 11pm when I was sleeping, terrible attitude. I won’t recommend this hotel.
The staff was very nice and helpful. We had a triple room and they only haves 1 bath towel. I don’t think the property is ready to cater to big groups as we joined a large group.
Very helpful front desk staff
This is an excellent property with an excellent staff. I will bring my family to this property on my next visit. Arrived at night and was treated with kindness and respect. A beautiful place to hang out and call home away from home.
It is located in a quiet environment clean and easy to get public transportation.
Boma hotel is a wonderful place. Good food, clean, wonderful people an great location. It’s amazing
Excellent facilities (spa, gym, grounds) and restaurants. Staff were so helpful and friendly.
Above average with slight misleading information
1. The hotel is not in a national park although understandable close to the border of the national park, you cannot access the national park. 2. Spacious rooms which are very clean. The house keeper is very professional and does his work with due deligence. 3. Hotel generally irresponsible in terms of customer relations. There was a false alarm that woke people up in the early morning but no explanation was given during the rest of stay. The alarm did go off again albeit shorter than the first...yet with no explanation. 4. Area was a bit out of main city and traffic could be hectic.
I really enjoyed the presentation of the rooms and the rest of the hotel
This is one of the perfect stays in Nairobi, a very good place, clean and very friendly and supportive staff
Beautiful hotel with convenient amenities and accommodating staff!

Great place to stay near the airport— hotel staff is EXCELLENT and were very helpful with my questions for my flight time in Kenya.
