Good location.nice host,friendly roommate.unforgetable life experience.
Perfect location, comfortable stay
A wonderful place but the host made it so much better. Their afternoon apertivo was awesome. I got to meet new people and have interesting chat. Great place for the solo traveler.
.
lovely
Great place!
Charming hostel-like hotel with an impressive, youthful energy. Extremely tidy, simple rooms, in a convenient and safe location. Very nice staff. We had three superb meals all within 200 metres! We will definitely return.
Great
Close to the train station
To be honest, though not my first choice, I'm glad to have picked this hostel thanks to its proximity to Roma Termini. It was rainining when I arrived and the place was only a stone throw away from the station. The hostel offers the most basic amenities and you'll need to pay €2 for a towel. Also, city tax needs to be paid in cash. So please be prepared with some cash in hand. It's a little further away from most of the attractions. You can walk it (30 to 40mins) or take the bus.
Hospitality was excellent. Offered a night tour of Rome which was brilliant. Would definitely recommend
The name speaks for itself: beehive! Safe place to return after a long day flying to collect “culture nectar” of Rome:) Staff is amazingly friendly and keep the hive sparkling clean, cozy and home like! I would stay here in my next trip to Rome
Everyone was lovely and so helpful !
Amazing place and people! 10/10
Excellent staff and great location
The staff were amazong as we were late into rome .they stayed late to help us . As for accommodation so well located for the station and excellent value for money. We were only there 1 night but would stay there again if we return and would recommend to anyone going to rome
Great place for a quick stay !
Absolutely wonderful! Such a great place to stay in the city. The owner was amazing and such a sweet person!
I had a great stay! Very convenient and easily walkable (even w/ luggage) from Roma Termini. Lots of daytime activities at the hostel but is also very easy to use various public transportation ways to explore on your own.
The best hostel I’ve ever been to. Amazing bathroom facilities, where you get the whole room to yourself (not a cubicle shower). Very comfortable bed and extra blankets in the room which I found very convenient. There’s also many seperate lounge areas, perfect for alone time. Location is perfect- close to termini but still peaceful. And lastly, the staff and services provided were 10/10. To get everything perfect at a hostel is quite rare around the world however The Beehive have honestly achieved it on every level. Thank you so much for an amazing stay.
Very friendly
Very friendly, very clean and comfy. Excellent location. Would definitely stay again.
The Beehive is a great place. There were people of all ages (and many solo travellers) from18 year olds to me, 73. People were friendly; there were nightly get-togethers over drinks and snacks; the sheets were lovely, white cotton. I had my own room with sink but shared a bathroom. There were lots of bathrooms with toilets and showers to accommodate all.
I enjoyed my stay
Great area the staff very friendly, very helpful, walking distance from everywhere 2 blocks from termini, great first experience in Rome
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was excellent and having the kitchen area was very helpful. Would recommend.
Great for solo trips
For my first hostel this was a great experience.
We have been staying here for 10 years when we come to Rome. The Bee Hive is close to everything Rome. It’s an easy walk from Termini even if you are loaded down with luggage. The team here ware wonderful and helpful. If you want a local experience, this is it.
This property has remained totally consistent in the 15 years we have been coming here. It’s like seeing an old friend. It’s only 2 blocks from Termini. It’s nice and quiet, it’s easy to walk or catch a ride to anywhere in Rome. It’s our home away from home.
Great location and customer service. Close to the train station and is good value for your stay.
A wonderful hostel stay
I stayed in a spacious private room with a shared bathroom for 6 days. The bathrooms were very clean. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking and eating. The washer & dryer were convenient, as was the location, very close to Roma Termini with lots of shops and eateries. Yuli was super friendly and accommodating. The area felt safe.
Nice hostel, but itchy beds.
Nice vibe hostel, great kitchen area downstairs with all facilities. We made great use of the kettle and shared fridge and did some book swaps. Booked a double room and had bites on my legs, not sure what from. We left at 7am to go to Vatican city and I left a note at reception asking for my bedsheets to please be changed, but this was ignored for some reason, which was pretty disappointing. Another night spent scratching which perhaps could have been avoided. Over 4 nights the beds weren't made, bins not emptied and towels not changed. On this reason alone I can't vouch for the comfort of the rooms and the linen, or the attentiveness of the staff. But it has to be said it is a nice comfortable place with a pleasant vibe and easy commute to Termini station.
The staff is really nice, was very attentive with my transportation and giving me all the tips to come here. Yuli also recommended us the best restaurants. There is an app for this hostel which makes it more friendly! Awesome stay. Highly recommended
Staff entertain you at night
Great private room nicely situated next to a common area aperitivo night was super fun! Definitely my go to option the next time I visit Rome
Perfect
The Beehive was a lovely place to stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Convenient location, within walking distance from the train and bus station, restaurants, grocery stores and monuments. I was very pleased with everything The Beehive had to offer. I would definitely recommend this hostal
I had the best time here, I met really great people, staff were super friendly and it’s 5 min walk from Roma Termini.
Had a great 2 night stay at The Beehive. We had a two person room, shared bathroom. The staff -particularly Yulie- were very helpful, warm, and offered great recommendations and you could tell enjoyed building community with guests. Clean and very easy location next to Termani. Happy with our stay! Thanks!!
st, Gabriela was very helpful and waited for my late arrival. My room is clean and met all my expectations. The WhatsApp communication from Linda prior to my arrival provided me directions to the place from Termini. Very convenient location.
Great place to stay, everyone was friendly and courteous.
Linda and everyone at the Beehive were so welcoming. I knew I could ask them for help with anything and they'd be only too happy to try and assist me. I loved being so close to the train station and the Santa Maria Maggiore Church.
Great support and information provided by reception (Uilia) to make most of Rome stay. It was a great location.
Location was excellent. Only a few minutes walk to Rome Termini Station. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. This is a basic hostel so all we needed was a comfy bed, close to everything. For us it was perfect.
We stayed for two nights in a private room with single beds. Everything was very clean and the room was ready early in the day for us to drop our things off and refresh. The staff is super nice and helpful. Simple facility but would highly recommend.
Such a cute property - and by far the nicest twin share we found of the five properties we stayed at during this trip. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were really clean, the location was super convenient, and it came with the bonus amenities that a hostel provides. Would definitely stay again!
Linda and the staff were excellent. My stay was great. The place was extremely clean, As a solo female traveller I felt extremely safe and the facilities here are excellent. It is really well organised with lots of extra activities if you want to take part. It is also very close to the station and easy walking to the main attractions but with lots of places to eat around the area. Very close to the main train station.
Great Location, Kind Staff, Comfortable Stay
Ours was a quick, but comfortable stay at The Beehive Sweets (private, ensuite). Reception let us store our bags in our own room when we arrived early for check-in, so we would not have the carry all our bags to their storage area only to have to carry them to another area of the hostel after our check-in time. Our main reason for choosing The Beehive was proximity to Roma Termini Station, and it was perfect for accessing the station quickly on our last morning in Rome. We would stay their again and recommend The Beehive for any type of stay.
We got one of the private rooms. The room was located right next to the check out room, but we didn’t have a problem with noise. However, by the time we got here, we had been in busy cities for quite some time. If you might be sensitive to noise, bring ear plugs. The building is on a busy road. Otherwise, very clean and stocked with the usual. The shared Bathrooms were always clean and available, though we were there in October when it wasn’t too busy. The staff provided cheap excursion opportunities. We opted to join the evening walk which was nice. Overall, very affordable stay in Rome very close to the train, metro (subway), and buses. I would stay again.
Disappointed
Great location close to Termini and metro options. The room was spacious and the common areas were comfortable and roomy as well. Great stay.
Location.
Good place, very close to Termini station
Very unique and close to many areas of Rome. Steven was very kind and helpful and made sure my stay was pleasant.
The facilities were clean and comfortable. I enjoyed how friendly the owners are and other guests, but you can still spend time alone if preferred. The ‘family dinner’ was fantastic! The owners went above and beyond to help me throughout my stay.
In general good
I think this is a pretty fair deal given the price. I recommend it for people who only stay for 1-2 nights but not for a longer stay. I stayed in the hostel for 5 nights straight and since the surrounding is a bit noisy at night, I could not sleep well. And plus the wifi was not working well during my stay so I ended up using my own internet. But the environment a clean and cozy and the staff are friendly, hence we recommend it to people who are looking for a shorter stay.
Lovely room and very clean Only problem was it was a bit noisy and there was a lot of noise from outside during the night.
Easy walk to Termini, beautiful, CLEAN rooms, wonderful place to stay! I would love to go back!
Very homely, friendly hostel. Community dinners are a great idea and the breakfast cafe is excellent!
Great location. The staff were always friendly and helpful with all of our questions
Friendly, clean and very well maintained. Very safe location.
Really friendly, welcoming hosts. Excellent location - 3/4 minutes walk from Termini station. Good value for money hostel. Would happily stay here again - says it all!
Wifi was rather slow, but overall the facility was extremely clean, the staff was friendly, and the bed was very comfortable. I had a great experience!
Nice clean small Hotel/Hostel.
What a nice suprise. Close to the Train Station. Many restaurants in the surrounding area. Very well appointed Hotel/Hostel. Annex where we stayed was practically new. Recommended if you don't need all the big Hotel trapings.
The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the location was great
Owners Steve & Linda are exceptional people who provide a home away from home. Well maintained, clean, comfortable and safe. Trip planning assistance, wonderfully delicious meals, and cooking classes are among many perks offered. I LOVE this hostel!
The rooms are so clean and comfortable and staffs are so kind and friendly. Their hospitality is amazing:) They have some kinda activities like having dinner together or making pasta class. I joined that dinner and enjoyed so much with other guests and wonderful meal! It gives us chance to get known others. If I travel to Rome again I’d like to stay again there!
Very clean and spacious. Owners are local, native English speakers able to provide lots of insight.
The staff was so wonderful, personal and professional. Lovely hostel, lovely people, great location!
great hostel , staff , location and price , nice relaxed vibe
Good spot near the train station
Very good stop if the train station or metro is frequently used. Also great (3 mins walk) if you've arrived at FCO then got the train to the city. Very nice/helpful staff. Single rooms are basic with no tv or fridge, but comfortable.
We had a very pleasant stay at the Beehive. Unfortunately we didn’t get to participate in any of the group activities due to prior commitments. We stayed in the Annex one block away which was very comfortable and clean but if you’re looking for an opportunity to mingle with other guests stay in the main building. This is a great hostel for anyone looking for a cozy home away from home vibe. Not a party hostel for young people who want to hang out all night!
Loving it in the beehive
Within walking distance from the Termini. The hostel is a very nice place to say. Vegan friendly and awesome dinner with other hostel residents.
Mixed Feelings
We stayed 5 nights in mid-June. I did a lot of research via Trip Advisor, Rick Steve's and Rome Wise before booking. "Yulie" was the receptionist our first 2 days. She is kind and helpful and stayed past her long shift texting the owner and trying to help us get the A/C to run properly the 2nd night. It had worked the first night, but I was awake a good bit and noticed it vibrated a lot. These are wall units designed to run with a special key while in the room. She ended up offering my daughter (18) and I a twin room next door. My husband stayed in our room and had a miserable night - Rome was extremely hot during our visit. The next afternoon we met Steve. He was not a bit friendly from the start. He offered us a free breakfast for the inconvenience and we had also switched rooms. He also informed us nothing was found wrong with the A/C. On the 5th day, we left very fast to catch an early train to Assisi. I had taken the A/C key off the chain the evening prior when my husband stayed in the room. We forgot it in the unit and received an e-mail from Linda with a reprimand that housekeeping found it. I quickly apologized and explained what happened. The day we checked out we felt Steve wanted us to leave despite very little interaction. This was a huge trip we had planned for 3 years and we went on to a wonderful 10-day cruise in the Med. Unfortunately, we left The Beehive feeling odd and rejected over what seemed to be an issue over the A/C - total opposite to most reviews.
This was an enjoyable place to stay! Convenient location is the real key
We loved the friendly, caring atmosphere. The location also can’t be beat!
Convenient and pleasant stay in Rome
The Beehive was recommended to me by an acquaintance for an overnight stay getting on and out of Rome. The location was fantastic. It is two blocks from Roma Termini train station, which makes getting to/from the airport convenient. For only 6 euros you can take an airport shuttle bus, or the express train for about twice that. The staff were friendly and helpful. I especially like how they provide dinner for a very reasonable 10 euro minimum. It's a wonderful way to meet others and not have to worry about finding a decent place to eat. And for 2 euros a glass (or 7 euros the bottle), the local wine is a steal. They also use dispensers in the shower for bath gel and shampoo that limits waste produced by one-use plastic bottles.
It felt very homey and I loved the personal attention. Everyone was so helpful and the facilities were just as described.
We stayed in the annex building just around the corner from the main office. The building is old and has character. The room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The location is not far from termini station and was easy access to catch our train when leaving. We didn’t use the main building except for breakfast. The cafe is delicious and was our favorite place to eat our entire stay in Rome.
Nice quiet stay
The beehive is run by a really friendly, helpful couple. I stayed in a private ensuite room. It is in a separate building from the main Beehive (about 100 meters away). Outside the room there is a communal dining area with a fridge and microwave and loads of travel books with top tips from the owners. The Beehive was very quiet and I didn't see any other guests the whole time I was there. (So not a party vibe of that's what you are after...!) It is about a 4 minute walk from Terimin Station. (Perfect if you have a early morning coach to catch to the airport) and about 20 minute walk to the Trevi fountain and Collosseum. The beehive was clean and I felt safe and secure during my time.
It felt home after a few days. First hostel and hands down.. The best first experience. Staff is very helpful and encouraged to meet the others in the hostel by coming to dinner that they provided, which was delicious. They did the little things that matter like making sure the beds were made each day.
I stayed in the all female suite which is located adjacent to the main guest house. As a result, my interaction with the guest house owners Linda and Steve was minimal. Nonetheless, on the occasions that I have interacted with them they are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay the Beehive again!
When checking out and paying the city tax, no receipt was issued by the owner. When I requested a receipt he started to ask me what type of receipt I wanted. I replied that he should simplify this process for his guests, to which he replied "you are not going to tell me how to run my business", and accused me of having attitude. This person has forgotten that he operates within the hospitality industry. Appalling treatment.
Do yourself a favor and stay here!
I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Beehive, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable accommodation in a city full of hospitality options. The Beehive is located near Termini, which is actually incredibly helpful if you want to catch a train anywhere in town, including the metro. There are some great restaurants nearby, most of which you can find in the app created by Beehive owners Linda and Steve, who are so welcoming and great hosts. Everyone I interacted with who was working at the Beehive was super nice and helpful. The rooms were small and basic but I think that's to be expected, especially from a European hostel! I stayed in a single room and it did have air conditioning which I think is a perk, especially if you were staying in the hot summer months. I also participated in the pasta making class they offer on Thursdays and I would highly recommend participating in these types of activities because it really elevates the experience!
Very accomodating and friendly staff, very comfortable accommodations. Third time I have stayed here over the last 15 years and I have always found it so. Plus very convenient location to train station, metro and buses for exploring Rome and region.
Great location, very clean and comfortable facilities. Met some great people that made solo-travel fun in Rome. Would definitely recommend!
Wonderful hostel with friendly, knowledgeable staff, clean, comfortable and only 3 blocks from the central train station. They even have frequent home-made Italian communal dinners! Love this place!
Great hostel, very friendly staff, clean, and regular beds (not bunk beds). Right near big train and bus station, and plenty of not-expensive (touristy) places to eat near the station. I would definitely stay here again. They also have great hreakfast but you have to pay for that in cash (ask reception where to change money - you will be ripped off at the airport or the train station).
Close to Rome Central station & underground
Close to Rome Central station & underground which makes it great for sightseeing Rome or as a hub when travelling through Italy.
Great budget accommodations in Rome. Have stayed here many times.
Good
Close to train station. Safe and secure building, fairly quiet. Clean and omfortable.
Great hotel close to train station. Loved the karma dinner and Great breakfast options. I would definitely stay there again.
Wonderful Staff and Central Location in Rome.
My stay at The Beehive was exactly what I needed for my time in Rome. I was albe to be very active during my time in Rome, and also able to come back to the room to recharge or enjoy some of the activities put on by the staff there. I completely enjoyed the opportunity to participate in one of the evening's dinner opportunities, as well as take place in a cooking class put on by Steve (one of the owners). Both Steve and Linda (the other owner) were excellent hosts and just generally wonderful people. They take great care and pride in helping their guests with questions about the town, culture, etc. I learned almost as much about Italy from them as I did from all the meandering about town. I would highly recommend this location for the traveler looking for a quiet, peaceful hostel experience. I was able to easily 're-charge' my batteries here. The location is very convenient as it's located near the Termini station, which is the primary public transportation center in Rome.
Not what I expected
The room is not in the main building with less amenities and noisy at night
I was disappointed that the blog on the app reported a family style dinner under the happenings. However, Bruno’s offer of melon and conversation on Roman life were charming and interesting.
Quirky and funky. Liked focus on sustainability. Great location close to the station. Very clean. Nice choice for breakfast including eggs. Enjoyed participating in the hostel’s activities
Friendly,clean , neat train station
Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean but basic. Right by train station. Easy to take train or shuttle to airport. Download the Beehive app to see when they offer dinner
Clean and close to train station
We stayed here because it was near the train station and recommended by Fodor’s. Very basic but clean. Even ate here one night-prepared by Bruno! Very helpful, courteous staff
Good location close to train metro and bus stations. Friendly staff, useful having access to kitchen. Home cooked dinner and great breakfast. Only snag was noise on Saturday night from local restaurants...went in until 2am
Perfect! Would stay here again.
Everything about the Beehive was perfect! Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Everything was very modern - from the decor to their helpful app. Will definitely come back here if I end up in Rome again.
Great Hostel Experience - Clean Bathrooms!
The Beehive is one of the nicest hostels I have ever stayed in! I chose to stay in the 4-bed female dorm (though there are private rooms available) and I was pleasantly surprised at how well appointed the rooms are! The dorm had a large sink and mirror area and lockers for your things that don't require separate padlocks. The restrooms were modern and spotless!!! They provide shower gel and shampoo. It was such a pleasure not to be nervous about the facilities! Strong wi-fi signal. There is a cafe downstairs that serves an excellent breakfast at reasonable prices. They also have communal dinners a couple of days per week. You should definitely go to the dinners and meet your hostel mates! I made friends in 3 days at the Beehive who I still keep in touch because we met during the communal dinner! Such a wonderful hostel experience! Safe, clean, fun, and social (without being a party hostel) Highly recommended for solo and female travelers!
Avrebbe potuto essere migliore
Sono rimasto solo due giorni e mi hanno rubato le cose, il che è stato molto frustrante nonostante l'eccellente servizio e le attività extra disponibili.

Sweet stay at The Beehive The Sweets
Easy check in, great location near Main Train Station. Quiet hours from 2200. Well equipped kitchen with kettle, microwave, fridge, jobs etc. plenty of power sockets in room as well as hair dryer and safe. Heating as well as AC. Towels may not be included depending on what type of room you have booked. €2 extra for rental. Shower gel and shampoo were included. City tax is not €4 a night as advertised by Hotels.com It’s actually €5 per night and is only payable by cash. Hotel has happy hours on Friday / sat night and does a tour on Sundays. Plenty of decent restaurants nearby. All in all, can’t go wrong with this place.
