Hotel is very basic

Stay is very basic. No Cable tv channels. Sound proofing is quite bad. Not recommended for light sleeper. Otherwise it is OK.

not soundproof can hear everything from next door and outside v clearly and there was a lizard in my room

The hotel needs an update. Room is small and ours has no windows. Nothing much happening around the area but it is close enough to drive to various hip cafes such as The Founders the Eden and the great eatery at Principle.

Simple small room. Location is away from all.

This hotel located more out of the busy area. very quiet and unsafe area especially at night when came back. some stuffs not inside room, no phone to call for housekeeping, need go down to reception to ask for it. heard this hotel gonna shut down soon. overall bed and pillows are comfortable.

Cleanness and furniture need to be improved. No value at all with the amount payed for the stay in this hotel. Not recommend

Room is filthy, hooks and cupboard doors were broken. Towel is old and smelly and even got hair on it. Aircon was noisy.

Rundown

Check in and out was easy. Hotel location was deserted with no shops nearby. Room is reasonably size and comfortable. Sound proof is basically non existent and for some reasons, room above and beside makes lots of noise throughout the night causing a sleepless night.

this is the worst and most terrible hotel I've stayed.

I hardly give bad review but it was one of the worst hotel I stayed in JB. Cons: There were ants on the desk and toilet basin. Brown stains were observed on the pillow and mattress cover. The towels have bad mouldy smell too. The shops nearby were closed, only can order grab food or grab to nearby malls. Pros: The wifi is good though.

Lousy Toilet Paper & Food Poisoning Breakfast

Got back the same room which I stayed last year. Very comfortable but however, toilet paper quality is very lousy and easy to melt. There is new breakfast menu which are 4 types of spaghetti. I chose the carbonara and after breakfast, I'm having the runs as not sure what's wrong with the food.

I recommend this hotel. The staffs are friendly and accommodating .Hotel is clean and food is good .i was comfortable..

Liked: All needed were available in simple ways but comfortable, warm complimentary breakfast and coffee was nice. Disliked: the taps and tap knobs were loose and movable, little irritating

Overall it is a pleasant stay and the staffs are helpful amd accomodating. Walkable distant to business area for foods and cafe.

Comfortable and good value for money.

Hotel is cute, comfortable and good value. The room was quiet, clean and compact. The bed was comfortable and the aircon worked. The breakfast dining room was light and trendy and the breakfast adequate. The hotel is not exceptional but it is good value.

Everything we need is available. Absolute value! Staff were friendly. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was decent. Breakfast was better than expected. There’s even a 24h Indian restaurant in less than 5 mins walk away.

Staff is friendly and we like the overall ambience of the hotel. We only recommend that the hotel is a bit more flexible in their breakfast hours and give ample grace period for late check out.

The room is actually quite small. The photos portray the room is bigger and longer. But room size is actually average. It is clean of course. The sound proofing wasn’t that good. You can hear the outside noises clearly.

Never replenish the soap and the tower wereyellowish and stains.

The room beside is Super noisy ... early in the morning . Non stop open and close.

Overall is good. Just the bed is too hard. If you’re a long distance traveller might need to consider first.

Great location

The property is somewhat near the shopping malls but one cannot walk going so it is best to take a car or book a Grab. Staff was friendly upon check-in. The bedroom had the basic necessities, although the bed sheets and bath towels may need further cleaning.

Definitely coming back again to this hotel, the hotel is sparkling clean and very comfortable! Staffs were super friendly and they are all on 24/7 check in. Check in process was very smooth and fast too.

Staffs are very friendly, and the breakfast is amazing! Decoration of the place is pretty too. Hot water shower was great, I like the soft bristle toothbrush (though not the toothpaste). However, the sheets in my room had a lot of stains.... but I would come back again!

It was an amazing stay. Although the queen room was not very spacious, but the room was exceptionally clean and new. The hotel's located at a quiet place, but there's security guard and can help to look after our car, which was greatly appreciated. We reached the hotel earlier at about 1.30pm, and we were allowed to check in earlier and we were happy bout that. The breakfast was tasty too. Overall, this hotel worth the money you paid for.

It was an ok budget hotel, with minimal frills. The water runs a little brown, but may be a problem with the water in the area rather than the hotel.

Stayed there over the years. Cleanliness is good but the towels are old from wear and tear but not been replaced. I would not recommend taking the breakfast package anymore. Not worth it. It was previously a highlight. Not anymore. Overall if you manage your expectations that it is not as good as before. Still good value for a one night stay

The room is nice and clean, only is small space hang the clothing. The Bath Room was big and nice.

Everything was good except the toilet have strong smell. This probably due to their sewage system. Hotel management should look into it.

The Hotel was reasonably value for money!

The stay was quite pleasant. The Lobby was nicely decorated to the Arden's theme. The room was good. But I guess the shower area could be better if there is a blind to prevent water from splashing out to the toilet bowl.

Both of us really love your breakfast that you made every morning according to our order. I think your cafe has good potential and should open it to the public

Great hotel for a quiet stay. Ideal for a staycation. Beautiful bath tub for their Luxe room. Worth spending the money if you want to relax in a quiet environment. The shopping mall is a distance but with grab it’s still within convienent location.

Very pleasant stay

We stayed in the Luxe room. A room that you’d want to spend a lot of time in as a couple. Deep soaking bath, comfortable big bed and a romantic interior design. My only complaint is that there are no bedroom slippers, but as this is a boutique, sort of budget hotel, I accept it. Nothing much in the area, very quiet at night but 2-3 streets down, there are cafes. Overall, good! I’ll be back.

A modern hotel within Taman Mount Austin. Strong smoking after smell even after re-entering the room at 8pm Toothpaste is not provided. Only toothbrush. Minibar items are mini tibbits and drinks No coffee making item are found in the room as mentioned. Security guard is stationed 24hours to look after the cars. Staffs are friendly and helpfully. Refundable deposit required is a slight shock.

Stay of 2D1N

The staff is friendly and helpful. The room looks exactly the same as shown in pictures. Room is spacious while the there are some dried water marks and dust on the bathroom floors, thus you may need to clean yourself if you mind the stain. There is no indoor slippers & face towels provided, for us is okay as it is a short stay.

I like this tastefully furnished hotel. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. It has street parking, it is a pleasant surprise that the hotel provides street parking coupon 👍

Clean and well kept

We stayed at Ardens over the 2018 Chinese New Year. The room was clean and well kept. Bathroom was nicely scrubbed and everything was working. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Worth your money

It was a cozy hotel, interior design is very nice, if the bedding can be improved (Better quality bed sheets, linen), it would be just superb, I think that's the missing piece, although the current bedding is just okay. I like the though of having English Breakfast, and the concept of the restaurant very attentive waiter/waitress, but if you want to improvise, the kitchen really need to be top of the game, presentation for breakfast is okay, but taste wise is so-so try having a taste at good western restaurant, and implement it in your cooking style. It would be just perfect =). Improve on this, it will be a great hotel. What I like most is the thought of having all in the mini bar FOC =)

it was a great experience, staff were very very friendly and good. room was exceptional. it was very secure with 24 hrs security who recognizes guests. only thing is the cafe, seems a waste that it doesn’t seem to be attracting patrons for a nice decor place. maybe need to better the menu as 50% of the things we ordered were unavailable ):

Comfortable Stay

Overall my stay was comfortableabd am happy breakfast is included. The cafe opens until 3pm only. Only set back is that there are only 2 eateries nearby the hotel for dinner. 1 mamak and another Hot Tom Yam. Not suitable to walk there as both eatries is located on each end of the commercial square. So its best to drive.

A decent overnight staycation

Avoid the causeway evening jam to Singapore. Stayed here for a night after long drive from KL. Cosy & comfortable although just a small boutique hotel. Nothing to shout about in its vicinity. Most important was that the room was clean & the bathroom rain shower is strong. The chair in the room need to be changed since it was about to give its last squeak & will give way soon. Parking is available in front & adjacent the hotel. Let the receptionist know your vehicle number & the staff will place parking coupon for you during your stay. Fox movie channel in the room. Breakfast & meals at "The Stag Bistronomy" was quite decent. Tried the flame grilled lamb chop during lunch for RM29.90, highly recommended.

Thanks for making my daughter's birthday memorable

It was a repeat visit for us, but this time its on my little daughter's birthday. Check-in was smootj and the service is top-notch by the receptionist and the security guard who helped us in with our luggage. Did not really expect from a little boutique hotel. My daughter was happy to receive her lovely surprise when we stepped into our room, with a lil birthday message, pink deer soft toy gift, heart-shaped balloons, winnie the pooh (cover) pillow and bolsters, and a small basket of grapes that is really sweet, seedless and juicy. Thank you for putting in the effort in the well thought of details! The room is clean and nice (as usual, pls keep it up!) and checking-out was a breeze. Special thanks to the staff who made our room and the staff that helped us with our luggage when we checked out.

Nice, clean and pretty!

Lovely interior from a small shophouse-type of hotel. The bathroom in the Luxe-room comes with a nice bathtub and the bathroom is very spacious, and comes with rain shower as well. The only spoiler is the little table-top near the wash basin, as its coating is peeling due to dampness. Overall, its a very clean and pretty little hotel, tucked in a quiet corner of the area. The food served at the Stag Bistro (ground level) is good. Parking is ample. Security guard was really helpful. Helped guide us to a lot in front and also brought us umbrella as it was raining. Will definitely return!

Just nice for business trip

Quite a spacious hotel and clean. The hotel guard will help take care your vehicle because during day time the authority will check on the parking ticket. Ensure you inform the hotel where you park, so that they will help you put ticket. It is part of their courtesy service. Drive out from hotel to opposite road will have a load of food, relaxing places

Room is not sound proof

Check-in time was 2pm. We arrived at 2:40pm, and was told that the room is not ready, and we had to wait until 3:15pm. They did not give us LATER check-out timing too. The local area was out of the way, it was 2km away from AEON Tebrau City. The room is not sound proof - we could hear people closing and opening their doors, the lift bell, and people talking as they passed our room. We booked the luxe room with the king sized bed and it was spacious and clean, snacks and drinks were provided, bathrobes and hairdryer too.

A Family Getaway

Check-in took too long and my family was getting a little impatient as a trainer was teaching her trainee on the procedures during our check in. The hotel area is quiet with only a Muslim coffee shop. There’s a beautiful and cosy cafe in the hotel and we tried the breakfast which was quite good but a little costly. The room has a mini fridge and it was so nice to have some snacks and drinks which are all free! Night parking is outside the hotel but there was a security guard. It was raining and after my husband had just driven us closer to the hotel entrance but he himself had to park opposite the hotel, the guard took an umbrella to shelter my husband. Good job!

Great for its price

Room is as shown. Pleasant looking and quite decent for the price. Location is off the main Johor city. If you drive it shouldn't be an issue.

Good for short stay

Wrong info in Expedia website

Expedia website stated that hotel location is 9.88km from City Square Johore Bahru (see attachment). However, google search online showed that the travelling distance by taxi is 14.0km (see attachment)! Worst still, when we are in City Square trying to hire a taxi to The Ardens Hotel, we have been informed by numerous taxi drivers that the travelling distance is actually at least 20km! Would suggest frequent travellers who are keen to book this hotel to check out the actual distance and taxi fare prior to booking this hotel. Especially, in this instance, the travelling distance from City Square to The Ardens Hotel is at least 20km! After highlighting to Expedia, they informed that Hotel's argument is that they did not mentioned that they are closer to City Square JB. In the first place, my feedback to Expedia is about wrong info provided in the website about travelling distance from City Square JB to The Ardens Hotel. Imagine from City Square JB to The Ardens Hotel, travelling distance from 9.88km becomes 20km?

Classy, comfortable but FAR

Far from most places. Pretty inconveninet to get to, need to get a taxi but quite comfortable and cozy.

Clean & comfortable

We booked a family room and was delighted to find out it was 2 separate units which entered via a main door. Room is relatively small but spacious enough for 2 adults. Clean and comfortable. Accessibility to the hotel is what you need to take into consideration but should not be any problem if you are driving.

Nice Interior

We got the luxe room and it was nice but the space was bit small, because almost half a room is sacrificed for the bathroom. The breakfast from cafe downstair is really good, don't forget to give it a try. Overall the experience was good, nice staff and good service.

Secure and easy to park

The hotel main entrance has an access card to get in. The guard will open the door for guests. Very good. The front desk hotel staffs are ok. They'll just greet guests when checking in n out. Nothing else. The room is spacious for couple and toilet is modern and clean. No mold. However, not soundproof as we can hear other guests opening their room door and sirens from the street. But overall, I give this hotel a very good rating!
