5☆ All the way
What an amazing stay we had at the Alphen, we will definitely be back, the food, staff and service were all amazing.
Wonderful break, just wish we could have stayed longer. Lovely big rooms, great food, excellent service. A really beautiful hotel in stunning surroundings:
A wonderful hotel with brilliant staff and an excellent ambiance. We eat twice in Blanko and thought the food was superb. We would definitely return!
Great boutique hotel in a really safe area of Cape Town. Siya was beyond helpful, like all the staff in the hotel.
Grear property with lovely staff. Mattresses were worn and they could be replaced. Otherwise flawless.
Top Class
Incredible property with top class service. Will return every time I visit CT. Thank you!
Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting. Friendly & helpful staff. Lively atmosphere. Will no doubt stay there again.
10/10
Everyone at the Aphlen was incredible. Charlene at the front desk was truly phenomenal and helped with everything we needed. The service and food were top notch.
Updated old Cape elegance in a pastoral setting
Despite the fact that the Alphen is undergoing renovations and it was during Level 3 lockdown- we would t even have known. Our suite was impeccable- loved the 2 bathrooms! The complimentary bottle of wine was much appreciated and the Marshall blue tooth speaker was a nice touch. The lovely receptionist, who’s name escapes me was delightful and couldn’t do enough for us! I wish I didn’t have to depart at the crack of dawn to make my flight, but fortunately my companion was able to have a delicious breakfast and enjoy a leisurely morning.
Very professional , superb stay
Absolutely lovely. The breakfast was incredible. The service was impeccable. 10 stars all around. We’ll be back for sure.
Absolute perfection.
Absolutely the best service from the word go. Will be back in the near future. Perfect spot a romantic getaway.
Good Value
Exellent stay, will return
Quick visit
Beautiful hotel with lots of character!
Best
Top quality stay. Professional friendly stall.
Historic Cape Dutch setting with wonderful outside areas to enjoy your meals. Rooms were large and comfortable.
Alphen
Wonderful stay at The Alphen an oasis of tranquility. Super staff lovely pool. Great bar and restaurants
A stunning romantic small hotel, oozing history and charm. Brilliant staff . So helpful and humorous too. Room was extremely comfortable as was bed and high quality linen and bedding. Great location.
Warm welcome to 5 star luxury
Friendly welcome and more than happy to help make sure our 3 yr old daughter had a nice bed. Large room with nice shower and very luxurious bed. Restaurant in the hotel had great steak and unusual starters with good fish options for kids.
Where I shall recommend.
Staff were very friendly. A good welcome. A very good breakfast and all in all a very friendly atmosphere.
Splendid staff, splendid comfort
Splendid staff, splendid comfort: as close to perfection as a hotel is likely to come. Guests are treated as friends or family--generously! We are eager to return.
very nice
good
Great boutique hotel!
The staff was very polite, even incoming employees were able to identify us by room number and minor travel details we had shared at check-in. They did their best to make sure everything was taken care of. Location was great midway between airport and Cape Town happenings. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel to start our vacation.
Luxury hotel perfect to explore southern cape
We used this hotel as our base to get to Kirstenbach, Table Mountain, Boulders Beach, and other things in the southern cape. We felt like we were living in the lap of luxury. Very quiet rooms and beautiful grounds. Breakfast is great. A bit of a drive to get to downtown Cape Town. No elevators.
Great hotel
Wonderful stay! Pity it was so short! Will certainly return and spend more time
Wonderfully luxurious hotel, great service
Alphen was a luxurious experience in the heart of Constantia, a must-do area of Cape Town on a visit. Restaurants formal and informal were great. Rooms were comfortable and service was attentive. Slight concerns around some of the more dated furniture not being appropriate for basic needs like storing clothing. Also, not a lot of lounge area for generally passing time or doing work.
Beautiful and luxurious
Beautifully luxurious room with great attention to details- from the home baked snacks offered with the turn down service to the lovely bathroom amenities- the experience is one of comfort and care. A wonderfully relaxing experience.
Wonderful
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the Alphen. The room was large and comfortable, with great coffee machine and a small complimentary mini-bar. Service was excellent with little extra's like welcome gift and bed down-turn treats. We enjoyed all the various eating options including the restaurant, cafe and bar. Overall a very relaxing stay.
old school charm
a choice of 2 great resturants and old school charm, yet modern facillities , rooms are beautfilly decorated and have wifi and complmentary mini bar
Great Stay, love the breakfast as it serve till 11.30am and allows for sleepins
Wonderful stay at Alphen Boutique.
We were utterly spoiled in every way. The food in each Restaurent area was great. I loved the pool, the lush grounds and opulent , colonial style rooms. The staff are marvellous . All very attentive and charming.
Amazing!
Our absolutely warm, positive welcome was followed by the most amazing stay. The bedroom was out of this world with only the best of everything.
Bliss
Amazing welcome, comfy, quiet surroundings. The food and service at 5 Rooms was stunning. All and all highly recommended for peace and quiet in the gorgeous Constantiaberg mountains.
Great honeymoon getaway
i went here for one night with my husband on our honeymoon. The place is luxuriously decorated. The bed was nice and soft. I think there was memory foam underneath. The amenities are amazing. I will definitely like to stay here again when in cape town
Alphen - Great accommodation. Shame about the food
An absolute gem of a hotel, but sadly just experienced the worst dining experience available. Dined at their Five Rooms restaurant. Had to send back half of my main course (bland and tasteless), and worse still one of my guests suffered the worst food poisoning imaginable the next morning. For the money charged it was a huge let down.
Alphen - What a gem!
An absolutely stunning hotel with excellent restaurant options. As long as the location is suitable would always recommend Alphen. Rooms incredibly large and luxurious. Good secure parking as well.
Will return
Lovely location. Very comfortable.
outstanding
Fabulous. Comfortable. Stylish. Great food, service and ambiance
beautifully renovated historic property in the hea
stayed for a week from the 22 march and celebrated my wife's birthday in the 5 Rooms restaurant . Both restaurant and the Amazing suite which accommodated us oozed charm and ambiance. Our daily breakfast in the La Belle bakery was either under the historic oaks outside or when cooler inside in the atmospheric interior . Alphen seems to have got the balance between modernity and modernistic just right . Service was always good but the front desk could have been more knowledgeable about confirming airline tickets and the Cape Town sights. All in al a very rewarding visit .Would definitely return . A car is essential to access the Cape Peninsula.
attention to detail was great, staff were friendly and helpful, food was great.
Very relaxing, friendly and comfortable hotel.
Paradise! Excellent food, friendly and cheerful staff, luxurious rooms, brilliant location.
Lovely rooms with excellent meals.
We really enjoyed the beautiful room and the meals were excellent, especially the breakfast.
Overnight stay
We stayed in an Amazing suite in the newer building and the experience was truly amazing.Great staff, beautifully appointed luxury rooms and bath rooms.Highly recommended.
5 * At It's Best
Best hotel we have stayed in since arriving in SA, have cancelled a forthcoming booking with another hotel so that we can come back.
Lovely, authentic period Cape Dutch property
Overall, a positive experience. The hotel setting is really lovely, the staff are pleasant and the room was great. The major negative was the consistently poor, slow service in the main restaurant (cafe la Belle), which is best avoided in the evenings, particularly.
Fabulous hotel....
Fabulous hotel....very professional and friendly staff. Gorgeous bathroom with great facilities and really delicious food, both at the "deli/coffee shop" and the Five Rooms restaurant!!
Excellent all round hotel
Very homely hotel, doesn't feel like one of the endless chain hotels that, no matter how many stars they have all boil down to feeling quite clinical
Superb in every way. The newly added Alphen Boutique Hotel is one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. Ishaik made sure that all was perfect and the Alphen, which we knew from years ago, has grown more and more beautiful. The staff were all excellent, the food was wonderful and the ambience was first rate, in the middle of beautiful Constantia.
Great escape for couples
Unique , luxury, more than what expected. Great staff, Breakfast menu is very cosy & tasty.

Amazing stay
I had the pleasure of staying at the Alphen Boutique Hotel in the Constantia area of Cape Town, and it was an exceptional experience. The property is absolutely amazing, blending modern conveniences with the charm of traditional Cape Dutch heritage. The facilities were fantastic, the service was truly first-class, and everything was spotlessly clean. I would definitely return – a perfect balance of luxury and heritage. Highly recommended!
